well this is the reason I said relationships are built in stages.
I am trying to assume they were in a platonic relationship for the better part of it.the early stages ie
RomanceRe: How Long Is Too Long! by pendo89(f): 3:15pm On Jul 07, 2012
This brings my question nlanders, is it the longer a relationship, the less chance of getting married!
Yes and No.

The longer a relationship, the higher the chances of it becoming a come we stay affair.Live in scenario.
It can also become a bore if you live close to each other.
In relationships just like in business, we always want to take things to another higher level because we remain stagnant if we don't.
By another level I don't even mean marriage cz not every committed person is married and not every married person is committed.

It means committing to a relationship and being responsible for each other's actions.
RomanceRe: How Long Is Too Long! by pendo89(f): 3:06pm On Jul 07, 2012
There are diff levels of a relationship.
It starts as a platonic before it graduates to puppy love. That may take some years.
You cannot at these early stages commit or make promises to settle down with somebody bcz it's an exploration stage, love's first steps or breastfeeding stage.
The best time to weigh the quality of a relationship is after it has passed the test of time.By this I don't mean the time spent on it but the hurdles, character, stuff that have stood the time. Character and quality can be refined with time or made crude altogether.
Now if after 12 yrs having gone through the diff stages he doesn't find the qualities he is looking for I see no probs.
As we mature, the mind transforms, desires change, goals change,we meet diff people and we want diff challenges, not what we are used to. Life is dynamic.

Again rem, people don't always marry the people they date.
They look for their soulmates.

ok how old is the girl nway

We keep asking why people get married? well here is one example of a shallow reason.
A 22 yr old ought to be pursuing studies and exploring life not hurrying to shoulder parental responsibilities on her parents behalf.
whoever told her that getting married will make her responsible messed her up.
As for u,just tell her ur not settling down now. She may leave but that's better than pressure
RomanceRe: A Relationship With Dual Control by pendo89(f): 9:45pm On Jul 06, 2012
sauer: Okay. Out of curiosity I just started this thread. Is it possible to find a Nigerian man/woman who could enter into a "marriage" that is a partnership with dual control. No one is superior to the other. Both are not bound by any medieval oath of faithfulness to each other. In addition, the woman does not take the man's name, and the man does not demand this. Both are financially independent of each other, and are only in the relationship for the sake of companionship.
Is this possible at all? huh opinions.
LOL Funny the way you put that. I am not best placed to answer so I skip.
RomanceRe: Deleted by pendo89(f): 8:06am On Jul 06, 2012
You are to blame poster.

You must set the pace right from the start. Look at the way you started it,Little by little she dug into ur pockets and you played along cz u wanted to apppear cool and able.
What is so difficult with telling a girl that you simply cannot afford what she asks for? Some girls are sober enough to understand that.
If she wants to step, let her do so early in the relationship before you have spent ur whole account on her.
You guys come to lament online after you have been dumped for not being able to do more.
My question usually is,Why did you do all she asked you to do at the beginning? Weren't u smart enough to know when to put ur foot down?
What are parties for if you cant afford to foot the bill? Some girls are so vain.I would rather buy a pair of shoe than throw a useless party which I can't afford.
Poster, You just couldn't resist the urge to please so dont blame the girls.

only pathetic males do.We have men and males.

claremont: The good news is that more and more African females have left Africa to experience the culture of other climes, and they now exhibit the culture of the western countries where they live.
True and I don't blame them.
But there is a thin line between brainwash and aping a culture. What you described up there amounts to brainwash because it depicts african culture as inferior to western;
is it??
That's cold
But how else does 'move on'? I am sure you have heard that phrase before, no?
You cant move on while stringing another person along,It's not fair to the new person at all.
Leave emotional baggage behind and start afresh. That to me is moving on.
Keep the non emotional attachment on.I don't know if you understand me.
RomanceRe: Can You Still Be Friends With Someone Who Just Broke-up With You? by pendo89(f): 6:55pm On Jul 05, 2012
I think it depends on the cause of the breakup and what the relationship was based on.

If we are together in biz and I still value your input and deals, I would not be stupid enough to delete your details.

I keep that side of things going on and erase the emotional part. That I am good at doing.

To speed that up, get urselves other partners to draw attention from each other.

But if you don't add any positive value in each other's life then go separate and forget the person completley
RomanceRe: Self Proclaimed Virgins - Can Guys Really Tell If Its True? by pendo89(f):
I am nt nigerian but a few threads on culture section made me understand why virginity is held in high regard in some places.
I read on one thread that a man returns with gifts to his in laws after discovering the wife was a virgin?
And if he discovers that she wasn't it doesn't happen?? (I stand to be corrected). Now if that is done publicly and expected then can't u see the pressure?
It is sad how this pressure has made virginity restoration a very lucrative business esp in the middle east while the men turn polygamous and immoral.

Eighty-three people have been arrested in a massive security swoop launched after Sunday’s twin attacks in Garissa churches.

Garissa district commissioner M.M. Kangi said a combined team of the Kenya Police, Administration Police, National Security Intelligence Service and the paramilitary General Service Unit smiley smiley was conducting an “intensified operation to step up intelligence gathering, flush out Al-Shabaab sympathisers and foil other potential terrorist plans”.

Those 83 must be nursing painful ribs right now.

US kills Kenya oil deal

The more immediate reason appears to pressure by western governments, particularly the US.

“There is an embargo on Iranian oil. We don’t want to get involved in the intricacies of international inter-governmental issues,” Mr Nyoike was quoted by Reuters.

This is the latest development in a series of events which have put Kenya in the middle of the conflict between the West and Iran.In Nairobi, outgoing US ambassador Scott Gration said Kenya could face sanctions over its relations with Iran.

“Certainly there are sanctions, there will be repercussions ... there are sanctions for people that are buying oil and products from Iran and we will have to deal with those as they emerge,” said Mr Gration.

GERALD710: I am preety sure, the US and Israeli embassies were not the target and if they were, the Kenyan ones should have been the last to target.LOL!The US embassy has a missile deflection system!1998 spooked them into paranoia.
The Iranians would have realised that their mission is futile, the problem would have been the next targets i.e places americans,Britons and Israelis like to congregate. The Golden Spur,Crossroads Mall and KFC are such places .And the beaches of MSA.
Seriously,we have Al shabaab throwing grenades at churches and bars all over N.E.P and Coast. We do not need Shia fanatics in the fray too.
Kenya has agreed to import 4 million tonnes of Iranian crude oil per year, Kenya's only refinery said last month it would start buying its own crude oil. It processes 1.6 million tonnes a year.Under President Mwai Kibaki, the east African nation has increasingly turned to new economic partners, forging close ties with nations like China and Libya under Muammar Gaddafi's leadership.

What do you think Gerald? I see foreigners playing dirty politics on our land.
US,IRAN and ISRAEL. What aren't they telling us?
Am getting confused here.I though the 2 iranians were working for elshabab.I thought they were linked to the terrorists wreaking havoc.

But it's emerging that they have their own vendetta. Their's is a diff war altogether.!
They are fighting each other but using our land as fighting zone? jeeez

Two Iranian men who led officials to a 33 pound stash of explosives have now allegedly admitted they were plotting to attack, U.S., Israel, Saudi or British targets in Kenya, according to the Associated Press.

Ahmad Abolfathi Mohammad and Sayed Mansour Mousavi, who appeared in a Nairobi court last week, were arrested on June 19 in Nairobi and then led Kenyan authorities to 15 kilograms of explosives in Mombasa. They are believed to be members of the Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force, say Kenyan officials.

One of the Iranian suspects, Ahmad Mohammad, alleged in court last week that the two men had been interrogated by Israeli agents while under arrest. He also said he was tortured while in detention, which a Kenyan prosecutor denied.

Israelis have long vacationed in Kenya, and Israelis own hotels and retail properties in the country.
LOL they are silly!

The Israel embassy is a hell of a fortified place. The security employed by the US and ISRAEL embassy in Kenya is out of this world.
The road to Israel embassy is closed to the public.
The US fellows monitor you as you approach the embassy from the main road. Before you get to the main embassy one passes so many security checks you can give up!
It's almost impossible!
Besides the embasssies are located in very tight security areas.

Take ur revenge back to ur countries. We have elshabab to deal with.

GERALD710: What Somalia Somalis need is a good thrashing like in 2006.Not by the Kenyan police, but the Kenyan public, who remembers their protests in Nairobi when the Kenyans deported the Sharia fanatic Al faisal? It was not the Police who stopped the protests but the Kenyans themselves by imposing 'sharia' Sokoto state style:Simultanous Mass stonning! grin grin
However, they should count themselves lucky.Imagine if they would have bombed a church in Nairobi?Woi!The televangelists like one Margret Wanjiru,Maina Njenga and that Asian theif-turned Pastor Kamlesh Patni would have whipped the christian population into a mosque burning frenzy!

Haiya the evangelical society of kenya has risen up.They have vowed not to sit silent and see their members getting terrorised like this.
They have declared war on the islamists.

I have a feeling Al shabaab has made contact with the Bokos,I just hope the church bomings do not become a regular occurence coz if they do,there will be religious cleansing of muslims in all kenyan provinces outside of N.E.P and Coast province.
They receive support from Alqueeda let alone Bokos. They are all of the same feather.
Foreign AffairsRe: Blasts Reported In Two Kenyan Churches Near Somalia Border by pendo89(f): 7:39am On Jul 04, 2012
Shabaab claim responsibility for Garissa attacks
Sheikh Hassan Takar, an Al-Shabaab loyalist, said Tuesday that the militia killed people who did not profess allegiance to Allah.

“The mujahedeen (holy warriors) punished with their hands those believing and worshipping other than Allah,” said Sheikh Takar.

“The militants will continue until such practice is eliminated."
He said the Al-Shabaab were unhappy with Somalia Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali for sending condolences to the people of Kenya and the families and friends of those affected by the grenade attacks.

“(PM) Abdiweli belongs to the Western mentality and has no feeling for Islam,” he said.

Last year, Sheikh Takar participated in an Al-Shabaab- organised conference, urging the movement’s leaders to declare Somalia an Islamic state ruled through a strict Sharia (Islamic laws).
These mad people are testing the patience of Kenyans.

They will suffer miserably if the kenyan public decides to take the law into their own hands.

Me thinks if the outlawed groups are let loose they will wipe out these fellows very fast. The mungikis, talibans etc.
All they need is whistle and match to Eastleigh!! and you will never hear of them again
