Omihanifa: Apart from FG and few states (3-4) I don't think people are really patronising innoson cars
Even his fellow kinsmen that we expect to be buying it are not doing so
Why would someone buy an Innoson SUV that looks exactly like Toyota Prado when he has money to buy Prado The government should have bought innoson for all lawmakers. Those who don't like it can buy any additional car to suit their taste. If the lawmakers were politically smart they wouldn't insist on government cars being bought from innoson. This tells us their " buy made in Nigeria chants" are all lip service. |

selemempe: just for my education and the education of those reading this and keeping in mind with the need to say the truth for posterity...can you answer these 3 questions.
1. What did Igbos do to the minorities in the east that Hausa/fulani did not do to the middle belt (remember the first premier of the east was Eyo It's and the first IG of police was Louis Edet)
2. What did Igbos do to eastern minorities that Yoruba did not do to the mid west ( remember it got so bad that the mid west started struggling to leave the western region)
3. When did oil get discovered in the eastern region and what was the main stay of the economy before oil ( was coal from Enugu not the reason PH city was created in 1919?)
I blame ironsi for many things but I don't blame ojukwu for declaring Biafra at all. Pregnant women from the east living in the north and west were being killed (including ijaw women) people were dying because of Nzeogwu's coup and just like buhari is doing in the case of Fulani herdsmen, Gowon was not able to stop the killing. Ojukwu declared Biafra when there was no other options just like yorubas have declared Ametokun today
Azikiwe can be blamed for many things including greed but he does not represent the Igbo man. He was born in the north and lived in Lagos before coming to the east... however he was actually the one who composed the Biafran anthem...did you know that?
Please answer my three questions.
I believe the Igbos, ijaws, ibibios and similar ethnic groups of SE and SS will form a very progressive country if we can come together like the tribes in the north has come under Arewa. We are holding ourselves with our petty division. We have a lot of shared culture and history and we have almost nothing in common with the core north that we share Nigeria with When you say " petty division " , you are wrong! We are not divided within the Nigerian context. Biafra does not in any way serve our interests just as Nigeria as currently constituted does not. 1. Louis Edet was the most senior officer, it was a federal appointment and not regional. Eyo Ita was unceremoniously pushed out of office by the Igbo elite. 2.What the Fulani, Yoruba or Hausa did is not the issue when Biafra is being discussed. They all belonged to different regions. 3. It is not true the eastern region was dependent on coal from Igboland. Apart from that, oil palm, rubber, timber, marine commodities and ports all generated revenue from our area. |

selemempe: so we should be happy to stay in the actual Nigeria with northern and western Moslems?
Can you compare a Biafra with just 5 or 6 tribes, all majority Christians with a Nigeria with 240 tribes mixed with all sorts of beliefs
Can you compare small and manageable Ghana with very large and unmanageable Nigeria?
Are you for real? You are NOT for real! We've already witnessed what Biafra would have been in the defunct eastern region and for the 30 months Biafra tried to exist. By the way, why did Ironsi and Ojukwu quell Adaka Boro's attempt to break away from Nigeria only to want the same a few months later? Why did Azikiwe insist on "one Nigeria "? The division of Nigeria is not our primary motivation as Ijaw people. Either reforms or break up of Nigeria with respect for the interests of divergent ethnic nations. |

If they were patriotic they would have supported the previous government in 2012.
People like Fashola lack character. After supporting fuel subsidy removal as a governor he turned back to support the Ojota protests.
Bunch of clueless beings!
Nigeria has no "money" because those at the helm of affairs lack the mental ability to generate money. Money is a function of the mind. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know what money is.
With the goodwill and economic conditions APC met, if they understood the basics of governance Nigeria would have done very well. |

That's a lie! Bayelsa is not the poorest in our region. I wonder were you get those fantasies from. If Bayelsa people are violent, Nigeria made them violent. Kaiama declaration in 1998 was peaceful, prior to that Ken Saro-Wiwa, a non-violent Ogoni rights activist was killed in neighbouring Rivers state by the Nigerian state. Nigeria made non-violent agitation look bad. |

Nairaland General › Why Nigeria Has Failed To Progress by PHijo(op): 7:51pm On Feb 14, 2020 |
One of the reasons Nigeria has failed to progress is that Nigerians are fond of telling themselves lies and half truths.
Today the same people who supported the supreme court's ruling on Buhari vs Atiku, Uzodinma vs Ihedioa are against the ruling in Bayelsa and those who condemned the rulings that favoured Buhari and Uzodonima are happy this ruling favoured Diri.
Why can't we stand by the truth and forget about our personal interest?
The the pursuit of personal interest we've lost everything. As individuals, communities, ethnic nations or the country at large.
30 years ago Nigeria was respected all over the world. Today, even in neighbouring west African countries we are despised.
Let us support what and who is right even if we , our family, community or ethnic nation doesn't stand to benefit from it directly.
Nigeria is a mess because of this selfish, short sighted attitude. |

These folks live in creeks, in the midst of gas flares, they have been so oppressed they are loving their oppressors, isn't it worth commenting on? I am not saying SW is any better, infact the rot there embarrasses me when I think about what should have been had we continued Awolowos pace.
I read about a British military explorer's Jornal, he posed as a buyer of artifacts, he wrote in details everything about the Yoruba's, our food, culture from birth to death, our gods, and at the footnote he said 'this is a tribe the British Empire must keep and eye on'. I am a proud negro and I understand Nigeria is Negroland and Fulanis and Borno folks are Arabs, the more I study the more I see Nigeria is intended to be just the way it is, with an army to oppress and keep people from seeking freedom.
Forget about the petty squabbles, otherwise we would remain like this for generations, I get your point, nonetheless any time 'Biafra' is mentioned we get angry, angry because of the negative things they did prior to the Biafra war, during the Biafra war and even after the war. That doesn't mean we accept the negative actions of others towards us. Yoruba and Igbo people should not draw Ijaw people into their fight with Fulani people . We could have contained them in 2015 but some of you thought otherwise. |
