Me? Eat anything strange? Never! Quite selective. Really really very selective right from childhood. My taste isn't expensive, I'm just so choosy. I don't eat birds of any form, no roast meat, no snails or offals just beef and fish. If the beef has a bony part, it's not touching my mouth. I don't explore as far as food is concerned. I'm comfortable eating only the things I'm accustomed to. Not really a foodie. |

Romance › Re: 7 Reasons You Should Date A Lawyer by placeofallure(f): 4:41pm On Oct 27, 2022 |
akinsadeez: What about reasons not to date a lawyer
- Most of them talk too much especially those who are used to litigation.
- Lawyers are generally known to be liars. They can lie for Africa. Remember the popular joke about the wife that found a woman's underwear under the passenger seat of her husband's car, got angry and threw it out. The husband promptly told her that she just threw out a key piece of evidence in a rape case. Their specialty is coming up with convincing lies on the spot.
- Lawyers often womanise. With the nature of their job, Lawyers come in contact with people daily and most of them can't resist hooking with the pretty women that cone their way. Their annual NBA conference is just a convenient excuse for many of them to hook up.
- They are often dishonest. This might seem ironic, but many lawyers are dishonest. The fact that they know the law and the loopholes means they often skirt the edge of legality in their business dealings and when cases blow up, they can rely on their contacts in the police stations to bury cases. That's why some people prefer having estate agents in charge of their properties rather than lawyers.
- They wont have time for you. Lawyers, especially those who are very active in litigation hardly have time for their partners. They will always be thinking about the next case they are handling, how to address the court e.t.c Sometimes they have diff cases in diff courts in diff states. I agree with the dishonest part. They're great liars and some of them are fetish too. All of these things, especially as exhibited by my uncle - a lawyer, made me resolve not to read law. He was manipulative too. I avoid anything that will make us have any contact. I can't remember the last time I saw him. Enu opuro o n seje! |

1 not upsetting your wife
2 dealing with like man
3 not getting involved

1 not upsetting your wife aka accepting that your wife's sister and wife would happy that you didnt throw out too
2 dealing it like man, you were supposed to consulated before moving in and understand abit of why she left
3 not getting involved, your in-laws are the ones supposed to take her in while they get to know the issue and finding the solution, its not your issue is supposed to go to her parents or other elder relatives
4 enable her husband to relax, him knowing that you accomodated them, he will relax in solving the difference Demise means death The twin sister to his wife's husband is dead. Really this is not funny. I pity the man, not at this crucial time in Nigeria. Everyone is complaining, how do you add extra responsibility to your own wey you still dey manage cope. The woman is not understanding. She shouldn't have put her twin sister and the husband in a difficult position as this. The wife should tell her twin sister to leave. |

Romance › Re: My say On Women's Late Marriage Issues by placeofallure(f): 12:07pm On Oct 19, 2022 |
Fahvvy: Sweetheart... You're the one who didn't understand my own point...
All I'm saying is simple... If a woman stays unmarried till she's a certain age, then it's because of the series of choices she made over time, simple!!
OP was there blaming "life" for 30+ ladies not being unmarried and I was trying to correct that impression ....
She used herself as a case study... She said she has turned down proposals... That means men have been coming around, but she CHOOSE to turn them down...
Why she is turning them down is not the point, the point is SHE MADE A DECISION TO TURN THEM DOWN...
So if she is unmarried by 30, she only have herself to blame for the choices that SHE made...
That's my point....
And on the subject of feelings... My dear.... Feelings change with circumstances...
You can "feel something" for someone one moment and feel nothing for them the next moment... This is why break up happens...
Because people are entering relationship on the strength of feelings and when the feelings dies off, the relationship follows suit...
What y'all ladies don't understand is that what sustains marriage (or relationship in general) is not feelings but commitment, loyalty, understanding, endurance etc...
Our parents in times past, most times never saw their would to be spouse before marriage...
Their parents would fix the marriage and they would work it out....
And yet even without knowing each other... Even without having "feelings" for each other... They had a long lasting and happy marriage...
Shouldn't that tell you that feelings are irrelevant as regards sustaining relationships and marriages??
Lemme recommend you a book... Go on AMAZON and search for the CLUE OF MARRIAGE, then see what actually makes relationship and marriages work... I'll look for the book. Not that I need it per se cause my marriage is a little over a decade and we're doing very well, but I'll read it. Someone around me might need it. |

We're close, we share personal talks, we help each other solve issues that are not even work related. Trust me, they're good. It's hard luck at times. PerfectStranger: too much high standard is what’s keeping them unmarried. Standards their dad didn’t have o. That's not so. Some people are just unlucky in life. I have two ladies like that. I can call them colleagues or friends. One is in her 40s, the other in her late 30s. Both of them are good people, especially the younger one, she is nice, super intelligent and beautiful, above average in looks yet no suitor. What do we call that? |
Romance › Re: My say On Women's Late Marriage Issues by placeofallure(f): 9:13pm On Oct 18, 2022 |
Fahvvy: OP ma'am @Stargurl20 I believe this is the thread you were referring to...
https://www.nairaland.com/7368480/not-all-30yrs-old-ladies
And in that thread, the OP opined that the reason why lots of women in their late 30's are not married is because...
1. They were not approached by men 2. They tried to build with a man who later abandoned them 3. They focused on their schooling so they could build a successful career 4. They were played by men
And the OP now said and I quote "it is not always their fault" (And obviously, that's a BIG LIE!!) ...
By so doing, the OP was absolving women of responsibilities and not holding them accountable for the series of choices that THEY made which has brought them to where they are now ...
And holding women accountable is exactly what the guys in that thread was trying to do ...
What they were saying in summary was "most women are unmarried because it's THEIR FAULT" simple!!!
I agree that they could've been more diplomatic in their delivery , but still, it doesn't change the fact that what most men said in that thread was nothing but the truth ...
Lemme also use you as a case study too ...
You said "I haven't found someone I feel even the smallest of feelings for.....I've rejected certain proposals..."
If for any reason you get to your 30's and you're still unmarried will it also not be YOUR FAULT? ...
Will you also say it's because "life hasn't smiled at you" or that it's because "life hasn't been fair"? Will you then blame life for your being unmarried? ...
Make the right choice today ma'am, e get why .. You don't understand OP's point when she said ... somebody you feel next to nothing for... You didn't understand probably because you are a man. If a woman feels nothing for you, even sighting you alone can cause convulsion or vomiting. Very irritable! Men can sleep with anything and anyone, dunno how they possibly do that but women cannot. How do you now go into marriage, a lifetime thing, with such? Is that not suicide mission? Cheating on him will not even solve the problem! |
