Tetehjewels: You seem angry at a lot of things but certainly my Son or his little argument cannot be one of the things that has you all blowing hot.
First of all where in my OP did I remotely hint at my son winning the argument. I rather left it as anticlimactic.
I do know you are an atheist but then trying to indirectly bully my son through your comments with your choice of language is laughable and I am sure he would also laugh at this by the time I show him once he comes back from school.
I will type his response to you as he tells me because I want him to be the one to respond to you intellectually. That is how I got him to become smarter than those ahead of him and you certainly wouldn't be any different
Good luck with arguing with an 8yr old who knows how to hold his own any day of the week. I con dey feel say na u made this story up. I see why the other guy dey call those characters fictitious now. |

SmartPolician: Hi Webmasters,
I felt like creating this post because I grasp how powerful the internet is. In clear terms, the Internet transcends all geographic borders, ushering people into a world of endless opportunities.
Given how the internet allows us to work from home, work for foreign companies and earn juicy pays, I want to know why some of us are not taking the opportunities yet.
For instance, excellent coders, digital marketers, graphics artists, web developers, content writers, and many other talented people who sell digital skills ought to be working for foreign companies from home instead of working for Nigerian firms for peanuts.
So, do you fall into this category? If yes, why do you prefer working for Nigerian firms as opposed to firms based out of the United States or elsewhere in the world for better pay, opportunities and exposure?
On the other hand, if you do work for these foreign companies on full-time or part-time basis, how did you land the job? I am a data analyst. U have applied to a couple of foreign companies. Rejection mails so far. |

Supreme145: I've been learning frontend web development for a while now and after getting to a stage I react I decided to test the waters as regards to available jobs. I've been spamming LinkedIn and Indeed with applications though I apply for mostly Internship or Entry level positions.
Its been over two weeks I've been sending applications and only one Lebanese company has contacted me for an assessment and I've applied for over 200 jobs within that period.
The issue now is that the Lebanese company gave me a mini full stack project to complete within 48 hours though the time can be extended on request. Now I'm just a rookie frontend developer with no experience at all with back end, the frontend of the project has to be done with react which I can handle but I'm stuck at the back end.
I downloaded tones of tutorials on node js pertaining the project but I can't just wrap my head around it within such limited time frame. I have a little below 24 hours before the deadline and I've made little or no head way.
Even if I manage to get the project done won't I be biting more than I can chew knowing it's a full stack position? Or should I find a way around the project and learn on the job?. I wouldn't want my desperation for a job to put me into trouble. Should I let this one slide and wait for opportunities that suit my current skill set while I further develop my skills? I haven't slept for the past 24 hours due to this project and I'm stressed out already.
Please my bosses I need your input on this matter.
Modified: I've been able to create a react app that displays the CSV file table on the frontend but I'm just overwhelmed with the back end

AnonPoet: How a loan app wiped out my account and left me broke
See me see trouble o! one loan app in this country, (I will not mention their name yet) has wiped my entire life savings and they have left me dead broke. Around early February this year my friend told me about a business that i can invest in and get good profit by the end of the year. Usual na, I got excited about the project and I had to make sure I hustle the money anyway, anyhow; that was how I remember that I saw one advert on facebook, so I went to the Facebook page and I copied the WhatsApp number from the page. Naso it start o! they asked me to register, write my mothers name, my office even collect my BVN and card details join!! Haba! I should have known.
I took the loan even with the high interest because I didn't have a choice and guy man gats make sweet cash. The 1st instalment i paid, 2nd instalment i delayed for 2 days...honestly no be my fault i even tried reaching out to them for small time more but no one answered. That's how the 3rd instalment came these loan app cleared all my account o! They removed all the money in my account claiming they couldn't be patient anymore! I've called & called but they didn't answer me! Next thing their representatives dey insult me!
Guys, I want to know what to do o! Is this how all loan apps do? they will shame you and suck your account dry? Abeg people talk o! what can I do?
Which decent loan apps can one use in the future?
1. FairMoney 2. Carbon 3. RenMoney
Which off these three is recommended abeg? For goodness sake y'all should pay your debt. So you have money in your account and you refused to pay your debt? Do u think those folks are picking money on the ground? That's why commercial banks refused to give unsecured loans to Nigerians. Y'all are crooks. |

55truth: Should I quit this job and return home?
So I have been unemployed for a while until late last month that a friend gave me link to his place of work and I got the job. The pay is not good but I had to take it cos I was wasting away without any income.
Now I joined him in the city but he didn't tell me in his one room apartment, he has 3 other guys living in. I now make the 5th guy in one room. All of them have a girlfriend that still come to sleep in the same room. I'm sure you can imagine what it means living in such a condition. I'm just 2 weeks into the work but I have already felt so tired and fade that I'm thinking of quitting the job and go back to the village which is neither a better option. Some days, I sleep in the open in the compound because no space for me inside, absorbing all in the cold into my system which is very unhealthy, plus uncertain security situation. Also, according to the company's policy, I won't get paid through out the probationary period which is 3 months. How do I handle this?
I need advice please. Bro reason it like this. 1. Do you know the love hemust had for you to call you to come and join him in his one room apartment that has chocked him already? What do you think he has sacrificed to bring you here and offer you a means of living? What does it take him to kick your ass and those other guys out? 2. The beginning of everything is had. Are u saying you can't be able to raise money for a room within 6 months to 1 years? 3. Do you think to make it in life comes on a platter of gold? Oga put your ego under your armpit and face life squarely. Going back to the village my foot. You even have a place to put your cloth and shower. Some people came here surviving under bridge till they were able to stand. You want to go the to the village to be "blowing" grammer as a graduate abi? Stay and face your problems as a man. |
Romance › Re: I Am Scared To Ask Him When He Wants To Get Married. Help!!! by Powersurge: 11:07am On Dec 08, 2021 |
ngoziwrites: So, I met this great guy online. After 2 weeks, we met in person and everything was perfect.
It's almost 2 months since we have been together.
He asked me out while we were together and I gladly said yes. (I have met a lot of players). So while we were together, a discussion popped up and he said he can't discuss anything related to marriage until after 6 months. I pretended not to hear.
I don't know his financial capacity but I know he is doing okay. He controls the family business. They sell trucks, trailers and all. He is also a landlord in one of his father's houses at Festac. We stayed at a hotel. 25k per night. He paid for 2 night and I paid for one night. But during these times, we went to his house.
He said he didn't want me to come to see his place because it's the first time. And he said the house is very hot too.
Our communication is great but he doesn't look like he wants marriage soon. He has said things like marriage is hard work. He has also said in 10 years time, people will hardly be getting married.
Then one night, we were talking and he said I "see my wife as my responsibility" I will take care of her and of cos, I am okay but I will still be very very rich, so I can't bring in any woman to suffer now" .. That's what I am sure I heard but I was scared to ask him to explain further or repeat himself.
He is actually okay, he has two cars but importantly, he has sense and he is very hard-working. But he is very principled and we have actually had several instances where he doesn't pick my calls at night. It happens often but I am starting to trust him, because sometimes I call by 5am and he picks and says he slept off. Sometimes we would be chatting on WhatsApp and after I call him 20 minutes later, he won't respond. He is not married!
So, I currently earn 450k monthly and I have been able to save something meaningful, so I can start a good business before getting married or after. I haven't stated because I don't know which one yet. I started a restaurant business when I was 23 but it failed.
If I ask him and he says 1 year, of course, I can wait. I will be 26 years next year April.
We will seeing for the 2nd time next week. I plan to ask him when he sees himself getting married but I am scared and the way he carries himself makes me reluctant to ask such.
About two weeks ago, I wanted to even surprise him with gifts. I asked for his account number and office/home address. (He picked me up the last time I traveled to see him, so I don't know the address". Well, he didn't give me these details. He said when it's time I will have them.
Two days ago, he said a friend's younger brother is getting married. He laughed and said people just dey marry. He has once asked me "You dey find husband?" jokingly-
I would like to settle before 27. Is it bad that I am thinking this way? If he says he is looking to get married in 2-3 years, i think it's a bit far. 2023 is still fine. But the problem is he doesn't really sound like marriage is on his mind. He will be 32 next year April too.
We vibe a lot. But he says I love you sparingly. Sometimes I say it and he doesn't respond, he will say tomorrow I will tell u or no, I told u yesterday.
But we are really really cool. I like him a lot and he likes me but I think I like him more. He gives me attention, I don't have to ask.
If I was 23, I won't have a problem waiting 3-4 years. But since I am ready mentally, financially, I am looking for someone who wants it within 6 months to 1 year. I can still try to do 2 years if I get someone great. 1. You are doing financially ok. Which is one of the things guys that are success driven are looking for. 2. I feel u are getting ahead of yourself (too hasty). You don't know him. You don't know his hurts and wins. From the look of things u don't really wants to know. All you know is that he is financially ok. Thus every other thing is fine (on average, 9 out of every 10 lady says good things about guys that are financially ok. But if he is broke, story go change. 3. Heart-to-heart discussion should come after 3 months. U never know person house, hin never know your own, u dey suggest marriage. If na me I go block u everywhere. 4. Make him enjoy your company. 5. When y'all are comfortable with one another, ask him what his thoughts are concerning getting married. Don't be scared to ask that question. A 26-year old is an adult. Let him know when u planned to get married. Ask if he finds u compatible enough for y'all to be spouse. Discuss from the viewpoint of equals. FINALLY, If I were this guy, I would be thinking you are getting interested because of my financial prospect. Even now, I feel the same. No matter how rich a female is, there is an atom of gold digging somewhere. And you are displaying some of those traits. Ignoring and making excuses for him- anything to "catch this fish". |

Smoothbabykong: Hi guys, I need your honest opinions about my relationship.
My girlfriend and I have been dating for quite a while but I don't know what is happening at the moment.
The problem is this, we both live in the UK. We have made plans to get married and we have plans to start up a business in Nigeria. The truth is that she kept some money with me and I used it to sort some debts out but was planning to give the money back to her when she is ready to leave for Nieria.
What really happened was that there was a certain money given to me by another to help him send down to Nigeria. Out of trust, I told another friend of mine to handle the transaction but unfortunately it all went sideways. So I had to use the money with me to sort the debt out while I recover the other from my other friend.
My girlfriend has been asking me for the money and I lied to her that it's in my account but there has been sort of a problem with it which she believed. The day she was suppose to go to Nigeria, she still asked about it and she told me if I was busy my friend (she knows the guy) can pick up the money for her because she needs to sort some things out enroute to Nigeria. I called my friend and told him to lie to her that the money is with him and I will know what to tell her till I can recover the money from him.
Later that day, she called me and was crying that I betrayed her. She told me everything that happened to her money which means my friend must have told her. She hung up. I tried calling my friend, he has blocked me. Lots of things were through my mind. Dont know what to do. She sent me a few messages and blocked me on both WhatsApp and via calls. When she got to Nigeria that same day, she unblocked me. She told me I have to pay and I said yes I will. I admitted I lied and I tried to explain to her why I lied. Its been a week. I have tried apologizing twice. She read it and ignored me. I told her send me the account she wants the payment. She didn't reply. Fortunately I have her brother's account number and sent her 70 percent of her money and I sent her the receipt too. I only managed to get that amount after selling my car off with a few gadgets and electronics in my house.
I don't know whether to just forget about her or to wait till when she is ready to talk.
She has done outrageous things in past which I have overlooked also. I have even resulted maybe she has another person with in Nigeria and I should just move on.
Thanks for your opinions Your fuckup no be here o. Shit. Involved her parents. Tell them to help u beg her. Dts if ur friend is not "consoling her ready". |
