Just as I said on the Bowen College thread:
'If a person cannot be prosecuted as an adult for some of the most grievous crimes imaginable then the parents must share the liability either through criminal prosecution or civil litigation. That is the only way to arrest these repugnant antisocial vices. Then the parents in this case will have to fly themselves out as well to evade justice but in their case the effects on their professions and businesses will be more severe and so a less likely course of action.'
This is the only solution. Government must transfer the liability those who can pay the bills, simple. Your kid does the crime, you do the time. |

Vello: You clearly understand the situation. Bless you. Bridge turned death trap, one of very many Saraki and his 'bingo' governor Ahmed's legacies for Kwara State. I'm appalled by the shallow thinking of most people that commented some along ethnic lines while other retards commented along party lines. For those idiots information, I schooled in UNILORIN and for truth's sake, Saraki ruined that State. He ate their past, present and future within his 16years of direct and indirect rule. Why do people think the present Governor demolished the ancient's buulding; the popular 'Ile Arugbo'. Those women destroyed their generations destinies by selling it all to Saraki. Successive Governors with best interests for the State wouldn't be able to do much even in 20years time. Mark my words If no one in that State can repair and restore things then you are all as citizens in a most hopeless situation and it explains why Saraki could hold sway for so long. You have admitted that you people have no capacity to govern yourselves. |

Saraki was Governor, his godson was there for 8yrs and u think either shouldn’t have fixed it? Make una dey reason well nah Live in the present man!!!!!... That is what democracy is all about. The opportunity to change governments for the better. So hold the present one accountable for present crises and problems except if you wish to bring back past governments to solve them. What is the essence of investment that the majority can not access. All his projects are taylor made for the rich and yet akwa ibom people are the poorest i have seen out here. You cant believe they get times three the revenue of oyo state. What do you mean by monthly cash transfer.... You mean you don't want to work again but become a government slave... Mister, you better value your liberty. Most forward thinking people the world over see government as an impediment not as a life raft. They pay you and when you are hooked on free meals they make you do things you will never imagine yourself or a human being doing... |

Although I appreciate a project of this magnitude requires a lot of work to fruit particularly when the industry is competitive and regimented and new players are at a significant disadvantage....
But for heavens sake we have been talking about this for a decade or more now and it is beginning to grow stale in the media space. I think a little meat to the bone will be appreciated as forward momentum.... or people will begin to think it is just another white elephant. |

Upton: This is my concern about state police and giving governors more power. The governors will abuse their power and use the police to hunt their political opponents. Nigeria doesn't have strong institutions and that's a problem. State police is good but we can't afford to give governors more power than they already have. But you can give the President unbridled power and make sure he invades the Judiciary and pockets the Legislature to become a practising autocrat. Abeg, what is the difference between the two power centres if not scale. What is good for Mr. President is good for Mr. Governor and if it is acceptable at the centre it should be acceptable in State Houses. |

The people that invaded Congress in America on January 6th are being picked up one by one by the FBI and being taken to court. After seeing this, nobody will want to try that again. That is how you deter future occurrence.
This country is truly a 3rd world country....fact Being rewarded by whom. Who empowers people in this country in the first place? Is it not the citizens? Who voted Agege into office.... himself or his family.... Is it not citizens... so where does the blame lie. Even if he 'stole' the mandate as many will want to claim defensively then how do you act when something of great value is stolen from you.... You fold your arms and trade blames or you go after the bandit with brimstone and fire. Let every 'poor quality citizen' out there know this sacrosanct truth: Tyranny, misgovernance, regression, universal suffering is impossible by an individual or group in authority without the active acceptance and connivance of the majority of the citizenry. We are simply paying the price for our sentiment, ignorance and collective docility. Very few will tolerate the kind of service our government dishes out on an individual basis in our lives. How we collectively tolerate, encourage and vociferously uphold nonsensical governance remains a mystery. One thing for sure and I continue to repeat it. A people do not deserve a universal experience better than their collective ability to engender and uphold it through proper choices at the polls and dogged vigilance for performance after. To say 'THEY' arrogate power to themselves is just self delusion. No one is capable of arrogating power over another man to himself. |

nairaman66: In football you play to whistle! De Gea would have waited the ball out before raising his hands to stop the game. Your teammate cannot step on you and you expect the referee to stop the game! Not true. The referee can stop the game at any point if he deems a player is badly injured or as in the case of a goalkeeper, incapable of defending his goal. It is not about Fred Injuring De Gea but that the referee did not act quick enough. |

For these toys, 12 hours is too much. You should not run an air cooled gasoline engine for more than 4 hours at a stretch on average load if you will not incur progressive damage to the cylinder block. Your 12 hour demand requires at least two units working in relay or get a water cooled system or preferably a diesel engined power set.
12 hours daily means you should change the oil every five days or so, ideally every week. That is some hard running. |
