earthgreeners: Jelousy and Bad belle na him dey worry all of them oooo...Once again therein lies the problem. GEJ will be gone in a few years with few side effects. The way ACN is going they will probably require Tinubu to hang around forever to keep the party going. Smart money doesn't follow this unsustainable model short to medium term gains not withstanding. |
dayokanu: Thats why you are wrong.Hmm. That is quite true and credible but therein lies the problem - this godfatherism which most Nigerians dislike. Remind me of the famous American statesman who said what Africa needs is not strong men but strong institutions. Tinubu wants to be an institution. History says its not possible in this case. His moves cast doubt about his democratic credentials. The southwest is a one party state for good or otherwise. |
snowprince01: Illiteracy is bad..suicide shouldn't hav bn their only option. 2 me I thing this story is not real.. How can 4 people decide to commit suicide over such an incident? Really its funi and I do not sympathize with people who take their own life's ..but mr presidentNot everyone out there has the temerity of Jimoh Ibrahim or Femi Otedola who take loans with no intention whatsoever of repaying. Some hardworking, honest Nigerians out there have taken their lives rather than face the impending disaster. I don't approve but I understand. What we who are alive should be concerned about is the cost of food next year and the ripple effect on our economy then we can make light of more suicides to come. |
femi4: Murphy EJemba (Eeeeeegar!!!!) of Sport Radio 88.9fmSeconded. Must listen whenever I'm in Lagos. Much more difficult on telly because my fav. programs are narratives, History, NatGeo. and so on. But I can say Fareed Zakari, GPS/CNN. |
Una go kill peson wit laff. Anyway what I do is to turn the key a quarter for engine status. That's what is important to me especially after heavy driving the previous day. Before getting in my tyres get my attention. Learnt this a few years ago after mysterious flats. Weekends I open the bonnet. |
Billyonaire: Cos service providers seem to hyper-inflate the real costs of services.Yes, to cover for those who won't pay. If you were the bank that Otedola once owed 140bill and had the freedom to set rates, fees and charges won't you be tempted to hike them to remain afloat. |
OkwaIfugo: State your terms and conditions of work well and be serious in it.You'd be surprised that even blue-chip companies owe and are being owed. The day I accidentally saw a memo from one of the now defunct banks to another is the day my mind was made up. Even government doesn't pay for services as and when due and am not talking about party politricking, statutory obligations. |
Just another angle to the dishonesty and indiscipline of the average Nigerian, that's all. Factor it into your business model and charge those that pay more to cover the gap. Everyone does it, airlines, PHCN, telecos, traders, etc. One of the reasons the cost of living rivals Tokyo or London while were worse than Calcutta or Karachi. |
Nigerians are so illiterate. To the illiterates posters above : There's a very big difference between GOING BANKRUPT and FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY. Take note, the article didn't say he is bankrupt, it only said, he filed for . . .
Sure we understand the difference between a stroke and a heart attack. Pity. In both cases we know where you're headed. The fact remains no one who chooses to be a motivational or financial expert willingly walks into financial distress just as your pastor will not admit to sinning just to preach the gospel of forgiveness. The man's abilities are under question. That is the fact and all his theories are just that, about abilities but life is far more than that. Just ask the Lance Armstrong machine. |
Corruption's counter punch has sent Dino rocking and clinging to the ropes. This corruption of a man sef. Na only 150 million people tag team fit handle am oh. No try am. Im record na 50-0-0. Dino Bravo na victim 51. |
bakila: Paupers attempt at diversion. Ever heard the word NOTAM OR SIGN. So because you didn't get a formal notice you taxi around with your eyes wide shut. The pilot is lucky that truck didn't shear off his wing, discharge all his fuel and cremated all of them. Silly man. |
GboyegaD: And our governments who loots the whole treasury only gets 6months imprisonment. Nigeria is very backward in thinking. The guys should get a better lawyer and appeal their case as death is not the penalty for armed robbery.Perhaps in the country where you reside, but in Nigeria armed robbery is a capital offence punishable by death. And by the way that's why the overwhelming majority of robberies are violent. Its a viscious cycle. |
Na. It will take something special to unseat this iroko tree or whatever he's called. The power of incumbency is something else. I think other parties should just wait till he's no longer eligible. |
Eze Promoe: This so called NASS are lifting their 4king arse up because it has to deal with people who are defenceless and innocent civilians but couldn't do anything when over 40 students were murdered in Mubi. But for your information UNIPORT/NASS don't take this too far because Igwuruta and Omagwa communities are coming to defend their neighbours. So if you don't want the your dear school to be wiped off from the surface of this earth, you better retreat.Well, there you go. Downhill from here on. |
Chrisbenogor: Now you guys are here clapping for those burning houses. Obviously understanding that laws should not be taken into any ones hands is too hard for y'all.Exactly. How is this any different from what the villagers did. Or was someone not chiding them for taking matters into their own hands and not waiting for law enforcement. Now the victims have decked the toga of oppression. Another sign that our society is beyond redemption. You simply can't find any that does what is right. So what now. The empire strikes back or the return of the Jedi.? Pity. |
Angelahoney: Most of the people commenting are men so it is one sided. I want a lady's opinion.Oh. I thought you were married to a man. How silly of me. |
Yomieluv: yes,I agree with you. If all nigerian were like me,artist like Terry G,damoche etc will never sell a single copy of their cds,but it amazes me when lyrical nonsense artist are even the spotlite in a major event show. Really annoying. Its like folks don't write music anymore. Just wake up in the morning and start yapping 'Your waist, your waist, all I want is your waist...' What the hell is that and Kenny relentlessly rams that down our throat on Raypower. What the... |
Everyone enlightened and devoid of sentiments knows this but I won't go as far as saying Lagos will disappear. It will be a different place though. True, some parts will become desolate, true, a lot of poor people will loose their homes and take to floating dwellings but for those who can afford it the government will probably build compleq and expensive sea defences that will astronomically raise the cost of tenancy and lead to an exodus. In summary, I don't think averse climatic conditions themselves determine the viability of settlements but the cost of coping viz. the wealth of communities affected. If our per capita remains the way it is by then (hope not) then the only thing left standing in VI in 50 years might as well be the Mike Adenuga Towers with Paddy's yatch parked outside. |
kooto: I don't seem to understand, can an aircraft tire burst while in the air? Most certainly. The wheel bay isn't pressurized so a highly inflated tyre will only get bigger (if air or contaminated nitrogen is used to inflate it) and if it is highly compromised by cyclic wear a.k.a old, it can give way anytime. But my guess is that they lost both tyres on take-off and didn't notice the sensor readings till they tried to land. Or maybe they had a hard landing and lost both tyres then.... who knows. |
kinglee007: @ MAYOWAAK, the plane did not crash land. It did a bearing in the air for a while because the tires did not come out when it was about to land in morning today. After that it had communication with the control tower if it was okay to land, the response was positive and it landed safely. Hope you know the meaning of "CRASH LAND"?. Was telling my pals that the movement was very unusual and erratic for a holding pattern. That's how the pilots of a European airline were fighting to fix their landing gear, lost concentration, lost their bearing and dove into the ground. I won't be surprised if house insurance premiums go up around the flight path to MMA. This is getting too serious. |
Somex10202: So sad,and i heard him speak some few days back on inspiration fm about this saudi and nigeria haj wahala.May his gentle soul rest in peace.AMENHmm. Then it may probably have been a cardiac event. Anyway RIP to the man and fortitude to his family and a large section of the muslim and indeed christian community who value his immense contribution to peaceful co-existence. Many from both sides will not have liked the man but he was a like one of those catridge fuses that protects the system. Now he's gone the question is did he groom anyone of similar ideology or are we in for some rough inter-faith, north-south times. |
Depends on the vehicle and your instincts but the best thing to do is to minimise contact while maintaining stability. If you can free 1 wheel good, 2 better, 3 better still. The worst thing you can do is brake and swerve at the same time. You'd almost always loose control. I let two tyres go along Ikom road at the infamous 'Devil's Hill' at 160k's and still recovered to make Abakaliki a while ago. Minimise contact. Never, never brake and swerve. |
I suppose there is an ACN governmemt there. So you are in good hands, abi ? |
take dat: If this post had read "Ex bank boss used 45million stolen funds as Mosque donation",people would be quick to hang Islam and Muslims but now that the opposite is the case we start to make excuses.Silly bunch of hypocrites always making excuses for religion. But is it a coincidence that three out of the four high profile prosecutions involve ex-managers who were financially linked to their places of worship. Or should we wait for details of the ex-Union Bank MD/CEO transactions. Just wondering. |
Do pastors need to know who is paying tithe and who is not? Many churches do not request for payer‘s identity,so in that case ,how will they know he is the payer?
That amount will leave an identity trail except if you want to add money laundering charges as well. |
Most folks misunderstanding issues here. Career women, not rich women, not feminists. To this report I say a big yes because the software that drives a successful career is not compatible with the role of home maker. Just to mention one factor. In careers there is the relentless drive for influence, power and promotion while in the family you enter and retire at the same grade level. Your boss is your boss for life. Some can't handle this disparity. |
md4real: Its very pathetic how shallow and callous your sense of reasoning can be. I guess u are naturally daft. If not, a bit of history on international politics would have educated about how the state of Israel came to be. Israel has not only be occupying the palestine land but also imprisoned and exile the occupants of the areas it occupied. An action that can only be compared to what hitler did to em. As if that's not enough, it bombard the people on a daily basis, kill innocent children and totally denial the other unoccupied parts of palestine the right to fundamental human rights. But Sir. There is history before 1948 when Israel II was formed so I think you should do some reading too. Jews and Persians go long, long way back and territorial interests have interchanged for millenia. I think there is a Persian revival of sorts and the message goes out to the younger Jewish and Arab civilisations. We are back, we are here and we are going no where. That's why both Isreal and Arabs can't wait to checkmate them. |
Cowards. Isreal delt with you ignorant f00ls in 67.
Wrong. Iran has never tangled with Iran before. In 67 Iran was an ally of the US. |
Yomieluv: Omo na rat sure pass for my house, infact they have defied all possible solution, they are big, attimes nearly bigger than cat,rat trap is a toy to them, infact rat gum is now a skateboard to this parasites doing all sorts of stunts with it,and they see rat poison as snacks..imagine one of them has the audacity to bring his girlfriend to my house...they have infact turned me to tenant in my own house...the fear of rat,is the beginning of wisdom. Small time dem go apply for C of O. |

Wonder what his fellow inmates will do to him especially those who have been awaiting trial since he was top cop. |
