Do everything possible to win the hearts of the parents like cooking a Haitian dish or drink for them and learning local dishes. Learn a few words of the language and have a small knowledge about the culture.

She is that independent type who does not want responsibilty and will do with flings from familiar guys. You are a star for an older woman to appreciate you thay way. There are things that she might want to share with you which she will not share with anyone. Dating for her type comes with all respect in the world. But if you consider that relationship, then dont piss her off. Its evident she wants a relationship. You wont be the first and last to experience this.
Good luck. |

Igwe9: why do gently quiet men marry this type of women? Simple answer, they are career women and they dont want a husband who will kill their talents but support. They are women who set out to grow in society and the men must have taken that into their consideration before marriage. Besides, why should any one spend so much to attend Harvard and end up being a servant, cook and baby sitter in her husbands house? |

godsveryown: My friend has tried taking her own life since she graduated, after all d hard work and avoiding fun she ends up with a third class degree, she hasn't being able to tell her family her result because of the shame and reproach. With low self esteem, she is considering seeking admission to start over again or do a PGD. She despirately needs ur advise... She is even lucky. Her mates are still on campus thinking of their carry over but you want to kill yourself over what? Nothing is hidden under the sun and you must summon courage to tell your parents what happend. At 23 you can still make a sacrifice and probably go for a national diploma and HND. You are still young strong and bear no responsibility. No matter how angry your parents will be, its only for a while. They will come to realise that not everyone was that gifted. You should go back and make a very great difference. If you cant afford the trauma of going back to the university or polytechnic, find a professional examination like ICAN ATS, ACCA or CIMA which you can pass at your own pace.
Well if you are of the belief that the third class is an abomination, then this eminent Nigerian was a third class graduate.

Nowenuse: U are not saying the truth. Not all Ilorin indigenes consider themselves yorubas, there is a great line of idenity crisis amongst many of the Ilorin indigenes. Although all of them are yoruba speaking, but some of them reject the Yoruba identity....e.g Olusola Saraki who boldy said that Although he speaks yoruba as his mother tongue and he answers a yoruba name, but thay doesn't mean that he is yoruba.
Not all ilorin yoruba speakers are sure or proud of their yoruba identity. Many of them are prouder of their fulani, hausa or Nupe ancestry/origin. Thia is sth am very sure of. They are Yorubas and sure proud they are. An average Ilorin man prefers association with the Yorubas for cultural affinity. They only disown their language for political advantage. Sadly it has not paid good dividends to them at all. |

harbdulrasaq88: According to eye-witnesses, mobile policemen attached to Zenith Bank branch at Elf Bus stop in Lekki Phase 1 beat this unidentified man to a pulp yesterday March 11th.
Don't know exactly what he did to warrant such brutal assault.
The man fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital by the police and other passers-by who got involved.
Hopefully, someone in higher authority will caution these officers.

Romance › Re: I Helped Her Evade Rape, She Paid Me Back By Stealing. by rhames(m): 7:13pm On Mar 12, 2015 |
charles009: Hey folks,
I was in uyo yesterday for an event, So we chilled in a popular hotel.
At about 2am, I started hearing loud shout on the next room. The noise lingered to a point that we were beginning to ask questions, if the hotel and clients were aware of the noise.
Suddenly, I heard a loud bang on my door, I opened and a dark skinned tall lady ran in and was screaming they are raping my friend" please help.
So I stepped into the next room and saw two men striping a girl to her panties. I talked to them mildly to stop, the other man screamed back, I have been spending my money on this pig, today is pay day. He oozed of alcohol.
After a little plea, he stopped dragging and the lady ran half nude into my room. She thanked me and told me that they were students of unical, and that she needed money for her birthday. That's why she got involved in this act.
I allowed them to stay since it was just 2 hours till morning. Though I was conscious. At about 6 am my boss summoned me, I hurriedly rushed to his room.
I spent less than 10 mins, believe this, before I returned. These girls had made way with my iPhone, wallet, my gold necklace. I felt really horrible. And to be fair my heart grew heavy with regrets.
My help has now turned to be a curse on me, I leave them with their conscience, that is they have any.
Be careful folks, be careful. Hope you did not lose much? |
Culture › Re: Why Do Yoruba Muslims & Hausa-fulani Muslims Not Inter-marry? by rhames(m): 7:11pm On Mar 12, 2015 |
Wulfruna: Going by what I have learnt, Hausa Muslims often have difficulty accepting Yoruba Muslims as true Muslims. Perhaps this is because Yoruba Muslims generally tend to be less rigid about their religion than their Northern counterparts.
I remember a conversation that once ensued between a Yoruba Muslim friend of mine and an Hausa man he engaged to repair his shoe.
The Hausa guy simply refused to accept my friend was Muslim, even after my friend recited passages from the Qu'ran in Arabic. Probably, in the Hausa cobbler's mind, you can't be Muslim if you are not a Northerner.
This perception may account for why we see relatively fewer cases of Hausa Muslim- Yoruba Muslim unions. There is a clear difference between the Fulani and Hausa but both are Northerners. The Fulani are the cattle herders and they have their own language and culture separately from the Hausa. The average Hausa man nowadays has politicized religion to the extent that if a Yoruba man leads a congregational prayer with a Hausa man praying behind it, the Hausa man will re-offer that prayer because of the belief that the other languages in Nigeria are heathens even though they pray the same prayer. They also believe that they arethe only true muslims anywhere in the world. The reason why Hausa dont marry out their female wards out to other tribes is simply tribalism and racism. Anything about other tribes and their practices are not welcome to the average Hausa man. The second reason is they dont mix with other tribes except during politics. In fact some will give you conditions that if you give birth to a female child, that child will be betrothed to another Hausa man chosen by the family. However there are still some families either Hausa or Fulanis who don't care about your race or tribe from the core North still marry out their daughters to anyone who is a Muslim. On the whole, its all about wrong perception. The people of Illorin are 80% Yorubas. Despite the Fulani conquest, they still retain their Yoruba identity to this day. |
