This is tricky hear me out. Usually a lot must have gone down before the first date.
I mean phone calls that go late into the night, text messages etc.
When we now go out for a date - Like movie or restaurant or late walk night. It all depends on the discussions.
I have had women who after the phone call and texts just wanted to curl up and eat pizza and then get cozy.
I have had others who after the date , I dropped them off & waved them goodbye due to some lousy comment.
Others , they kiss but tell me to wait just to make sure its love and not infatuation and I have waited and it was fun.

The only thing holding me now is to get things in order before paying her dowry.

The main problem now is that we keep having issues, coz, she's always making calls with her exs. i have confronted her on Several occasions, we have had fights, physical fights as well.

She told me she dont have the guts to tell them to stop calling her. She can only keep playing them till they walk away.
I told her i dont have that Luxury of patience. She has to choose between me and her exs.

Now, the issue is that she's pregnant and I have already taken her to my parents, they all like her.

I would have broken up if not because of the pregnancy. Coz, I wouldn't want to leave her with the pregnancy like that. To make matters worse, She have a kid out of wedlock. Though the father of the baby and her are not in good terms.

I hhave told her to stop making calls with her ex, but she seems sturbon.
She's ready for me to Change her sim card but I want her to use her sanity and end things with her ex in a boldly manner rather than hiding under the guise of changing sim. I have registered a new sim, but It's still with me, I have not given her.

Am confused, I need you guys advices for way forward.

I just got thinking right now, why some men are ready to offer assistance to women rather than their fellow men, even those men might be in real need of assistance.

For instance something happened as of recent, not to me though but my senior colleague at work.

There is this "baba alaye honourable", a married man that always visits this my co worker, and he is somewhat loaded, he owns some trucks and some other businesses. Whenever he visits this my colleague, he only comes because of one thing: women, and they are somehow plenty for my area. I mean housewives and single mothers, the man never do single ladies, and he always give them load of cash to support their small businesses, sometimes 50k upwards, even in the presence of this colleague of mine who he never deem fit to help financially except to take him to "buka" and buy food and drink for him. Even though he always promise my colleague that he will help him somehow, but nothing to show.

It is what happened recently that got me thinking, there is this woman beside us, she sells beer and other thing in her shop, ehe started recently and this is the first time this "honourable" will see her, but this woman, a housewife got all the package, and they got talking, this woman have no phone, the "honourable" bought her one new Samsung Galaxy phone and gave her some cash and provisions (even though the woman gave me some of the provisions ), but this my colleague never get anything from the "honourable" except food and drink.

And this got me thinking, why some men always ignore fellow men in need of help and help women.

I am not here to bash anybody or any gender, the thing just dey baffle me.

These are my reasons :
1. I see women as the weaker sex.
2. I am not handsome and so I help with anticipation of some " assistance " if the moment is right.
3. Some women have had it hard and so at times helping gives hope.

I can tell you from experience - I have about 5 female friends not ex's. Lets address the fuel /subsidy . Obi wants to remove subsidy and replace with what ? which mean fuel goes up. But does that not require legislature to agree. If he does not have but a handful of members of Parliament, how does he want to achieve that ?

Now, without having like minds in the senate, how does he want to do good. ?
He needs to flip people over when election comes. Who are the candidates he will present that people would vote for ?

Marriage is a wonderful thing. The reason why people see it as nonsense is because sexual immorality is as easy as drinking water.

So to your question... reasons why I feel or want to get married are.

1. Companionship. There are times when you would want to talk to someone, just sit, talk and pour out what's bothering you to a listening ear. With the right spouse, you'll always enjoy geninue companionship, enjoy gossips together. Baby Mamas or olosho cannot give you this cos what you have with them is purely transactional.

2. It lowers your risks of contacting STDs. An older cousin of mind told me that for the past 12 years he's been married he has never been treated for any STD. If you're married to a faithful partner, and you're faithful to your partner as well, you would never suffer from STDs.

With Baby Mamas or oloshos your heart would always race wherever you develop any strange feeling or symptom after having sex with them. I've read countless topics here on Nairaland where the guy in question would tell us how the condom bursted and he wasn't aware and how he started seeing some rashes on his manhood. Such a person would never have peace of mind until after a medical test. A marriage to a good spouse eliminates all that.

3. You can plan together . I'll use my parents as an example. When my dad was building his house in the village, my mom contributed a great deal to it. Even the first car he bought which was a Jetta volkswagen, as I grew older I learnt that it was actually my mom who bought the car for him, because he had so much on his hands and didn't want to miss the car, and the funny thing was that my mom never mentioned it not even once, it was my dad who told me.

With the right spouse, you can achieve a lot together, you can build, set up businesses, invest together and support each other. Olosho or baby Mamas cannot give you this cos whatever business you setup for them is theirs and theirs alone. And wouldn't support you with a penny when things go south for you.

4. Raising your kids together . Raising kids alone is very tasking. I have a 4 year old nephew (he'll be 5 this year) who I try to use to see what parenting looks like. There was a time his mom (my cousin) came with him to spend the weekend in my place (Friday to Sunday), that was when I understood that it takes more than depositing your semen into a hole to raise kids.

From waking him up, to bathing the child, to actually spending ample time together with him talking and bonding...this isn't something a baby mama can do. It takes being married to the right person for you to achieve this.

5. Eating good food . This night I just came back from buying beans (elewa) and bread. Most times I feel very lazy to go into the kitchen, there are times I can stay up to 6 months without visiting my kitchen.

As a married man, your wife would spoil you with good food, not the junks you've been struggling with during your bachelor days. The first time I ate Nkwobi in my life, was in my uncle's house, and it was prepared by his wife. Imagine having a wife who can prepare all that, believe me, by 6pm you're home cos you'd be perceiving her food right from your office.

Not that I necessarily disagree with your points but lets debunk them

- Eating good Food - You assume the woman or lady can cook. I know a lot of people whose significant other cannot cook good food. Its mostly processed food or buying food outside. They both work long hours.

- Raising Kids together - Yep, but where the man or woman works in the medical field with long hours . The kids rarely know their parents as he is always busy with this or that.

- Plan together - How many couples have joint accounts where purchases are done in both names ? There are many relationships where everything is in the man's name and when he passes on , the family members jump and attempt to leave the woman out in the cold. Since she has nothing to her name.

- Lowers risk of STD - hmm, there was a story here where a married woman hid the fact that she was using HIV drugs and sleeping with her husband. We know of married woman and men having affairs unprotected and then sleeping with each other. Lowering STD is not a fact without using a condom.

- Companionship - There are many people who are in a relationship yet leave separate lives. They don't understand or share common goals. Like 2 strangers sharing a bed and nothing else.
If I were to poll 100 people and ask . What's there S.O fav colour, movie, food, vacation destination, etc. only 40% would know.

Cultural things are different.
You grow up in the ghetto you can get laid as many times as possible.
You go to college or work at a fast food joint you can date and move. There are tons of frat parties where if you’re cute or rich you can get laid.
If you are referring to Naija guys that Japa -culturally things are different. You are meeting ladies where at work ? Or church ? Most ladies are already dating someone or are seeking someone on the same level socially and economically. I mean most guys that Japa are starting over and need to build that economic capital/ strength. So unless she just wants to fool around then it’s not that easy especially when most have B.O ( - I’ve met some ladies and I had to let them know they need to get deodorant )

So in summary
You want to play the field - join an app.
You have money to spare - get an escort.
You rich - join a gym or go clubbing.

Even in Naija - as much as you have a flock of ladies you still have to spend money . The difference is my currency can fetch me a bevy of ladies whilst the reverse is that you need a truck load of Naira to get just one lady.

1. How many rich people compared to poor would keeping it favour ?

Mine was the day I boarded a bus from Lagos to Owerri. I sat at the front seat number two ( the VIP position) at a point when we approached Benni bypass, this driver started doing 165km/hr.

My uncle once told me that anything above 125 km/hr is death sentence.

I had to point the speedometer for the driver to see, and he was laughed it off and told me to forget that thing.


Another experience was when talking a car to Lagos from Owerri.

The driver I paid to drive me was experienced. We arrived that same Benin, and this guy did 210 km/h, it was like the fuel was zapping and the exhaust sound was light.

Dem no born any other car make e pass us, but I was surprised to see a man in his Hyundai passed us.

I guess that one was doing about 240 km/h.

I had to tell him to reduce and not cross 120km/h and above.


Share your experience and advise to people who would want to do that one day.

I advise drivers to lower their speed. Speed kills.

The first one happened in 2016, while my second experience was in 2019.

Even on smooth paved roads with proper inflated tires I don't do more than 140km/h the vehicle vibrates and braking takes longer. Talkless of doing such in Nigeria where people don't wear seat belts.
