But I think Eddie Redmayne is handime... Not perfect but I find him very attractive... For some interesting reason, only Caucasians are the "most attractive" in the world. Is it not obvious to you that these people have limited brains that can't process the beauty in other races? Or where should we place Naomi Campbell, Aishwarya and millions of other stunning beauties sprinkled evenly all over this planet? Gosh. P. S. I mean even slim girls tend to add weight after childbirth but my friend thought his wife will remain that way not knowing what was waiting for him. It's even better to marry a slim woman of which you know after childbirth she will still add weight but this time it will be to your taste You should have looked at her Mum's stature if it's what you'll be able to live with in the future. Even if she'll be robust, she can still watch her weight, but if you can't overlook it, you should have let her be. But you lots don't have 'làákàyé' anyway. |

pstJey: Stop it, it's wrong.
At least show some respect for GOD.
I sat next to a lady that was visiting IG, reposting things on WhatsApp status and streaming another church's service in church.
My biggest grouse was that she did this throughout the 1hr 45 mins service.
When the sermon switched to why we're meant to correct people when we see them acting wrongly, I knew I had to do something.
So I tapped her and gave her the "why are you using your phone in church" look.
This lady responded so angrily it shocked me. Anyways, we were going to cause a scene so I let her alone. At least I'd passed my message.
If you use your phone in church, please stop it. You end up distracting people around you plus it's disrespectful. Please stop it. You went to church to look at people who are pressing phones, how are you any better than them? Pharisee, remove the beam in your eyes before removing the speck of dust on another's eyes. Family › Re: My Wife’s Salary Was A Mystery Until I Discovered How Much She’s Truly Worth by Saintmary(f): 8:47pm On Jun 24, 2022 |
nicho450: In 2016 she told me her salary was N35,000. And then two years later, when she got promoted, I asked about her salary and she said, “Oh these people, don’t mind them. They added only N8,000 to my old salary. Because of her meager salary, I’ve taken up so many responsibilities in the house without complaint. I pay for utilities and pay for food. I pay the fees of our two kids, clothe them, and take care of their medical bills. When my wife sends me a grocery list, she adds sanitary pads. She buys dresses and clothes, comes to show them to me, and asks me to pay for them. She started talking about a car when our second child came in. Things weren’t good on my side so I asked her to give me some time. She said, “I’ve saved something. I can add it to what you have so you pay me when your money comes.”
I agreed and took that money from her, topped it up to get her a car. For three months my ears never rest. She would wake up at dawn and ask me to pay what I owed her. I got tired and paid the money when I didn’t have much in my account.
One evening, I turned my laptop on and saw a lot of emails. I checked and it was my wife’s email that had been opened. I asked her, “Did you use my laptop?” She answered, “Yeah I was checking something.” I told her, “Then you didn’t log out.” She answered, “I forgot. Please log out for me.” I was about to log out when something caught my attention. I saw a mail with the subject, “January Payslip.” I opened and started going through. When I saw her gross salary, I was shocked. N654,734? And this girl has been crying poverty?
I went through the details. That night I couldn’t sleep. I was angry. I felt let down. I felt cheated. I felt played. We’ve been married for six good years and my wife earned that much without my knowledge? How much she earned didn’t bother me a lot than what she was using that money for. I decided not to talk immediately but rather do a little bit of investigation.
All my life I’ve held the view that it wasn’t right for anyone to go through their partner’s phone. It’s an invasion of privacy and it breeds mistrust in the relationship but that night, going through her phone was the only way to find out what I was looking for. I started with her best friend. Nothing much was found. Her family had a Whatsapp group. I read the messages there. I got few hints. I went through the chat with her father and that was when I realized my wife had bought a piece of land and had started building. Her father was in charge of the project. He had sent photos of the various stages of the building. At some point, her father said, “Thank you for helping out your brother. He would have been home had it not been you.”
She has only one brother—her senior brother. I went to look for the chat between them. Her senior brother lost his job and was home doing nothing so my wife bought her Hyundai i10 to use for Uber. Every week, her brother rendered an account and they split the money. From all indications, my wife was doing well for herself while she plays poor so she could rely on my salary. Why would she do that? I thought I was being a supportive husband so my wife could be proud of the man she married. When we bought land, it was her name and my name that appeared on the land title. That car I bought for her with a loan from her bears her name. I didn’t mind. I believed what’s hers was also mine.
The next morning she realized I wasn’t looking well. I was boiling on the inside but looking for a good opportunity to start the conversation. When I calmed down a little, I asked her, “So why would you do that to me?” She asked, “What have I done?” I answered, “You bought land, you never told me. You started building on it, you never told me. When are you going to tell me?” She was shocked. She asked, “Who told you all that?” I said, “Your father did.” She stood quiet for a while. She asked, “Why would my father tell you all that? What were you people talking about” I said, “I don’t know. You can ask him.”
We left it there. Some minutes later she came to me with her phone: “My father wants to talk to you.” The phone was already on a loudspeaker. Her father was clearly angry. He asked, almost shouting, “You said I told you my daughter has a building? Where did I say that and when?” I asked, “Is it not true that my wife has a building project going on that you’re supervising?” He asked me, “I told you that?” I asked him, “Is it true or not?” After the back and forth I told them, “I read your messages last night. I saw the pictures. I read the various budget you had sent to my wife. I read the confirmation of the money receipts that you sent her. You’re a man. Would you be happy if your wife does this to you?” He started fumbling. He started apologizing saying he thought I was aware.”
My wife stood there motionless, didn’t know what to say. When her father hung up, I told her everything I knew, from her salary to the car she bought for her brother. I said, “Yet, even your sanitary pad, I buy them. You think I’m a fool? You’ll use your money to acquire your own properties and live on mine because you’re my wife? I hear. We’ll see.”
Trust was lost. Love was broken. We had to find a new way of living our lives going forward. Her father called me every morning and evening apologizing for everything and sometimes taking up the blame so I didn’t have to blame his daughter. I told him, “The emotional state I’m in right now, it would be hard to think straight or think forgiveness. Just give me space.” Three days later, they were in our house. The father, the mother, and the senior brother. They came to apologize. “Don’t let this break up the beautiful marriage you both have. If nothing at all, consider the kids and be lenient in your judgment.”
I listened to them. My position was still the same. “I need time to clear my mind. Just leave me alone to think.” From last month to this moment that I’m writing this, my wife had changed totally. She doesn’t ask for money but the house is being run smoothly. She has started paying for things she never paid for but that doesn’t move me. She has taught me a very great lesson and I’m taking it seriously. That in everything, I have to look out for myself and my family first. Lastly she told me, “If you want us to change the names on those properties, we can do so.” Guess whose name is on the property…her father’s name.”
I told her, “You don’t need to change anything. They are yours. You suffered for them so you can decide what you want to do with them.” The land I bought has our names. I’m selling it and take my money back. The car she’s driving has her name. I put a for-sale sticker on it some weeks ago. She agreed she’ll pay for the car. I’ve given her two months to pay up or I sell it and take my money. She’s getting the message and I’m glad. Each one for himself, God for us all. She keeps asking if I’m going to leave her. I keep telling her I won’t but if she wants a separation for a period, I will gladly give her. I’m not going to leave the marriage. I would give us some time to heal and see what may happen but when it comes to money, I’ve taken the lesson she taught me through her actions.
What will you do if you are in my position and feeling deeply hurt?? RECYCLED STORRRRRRAAAYYYYYY RECYCLE RECYCLER RECYCLEST Some of us have been on Nairaland for many years. You will just drop a story, wait a few years, then drop it again. Go and learn from Gistlover. |

Family › Re: Im Tired! How Can I Make Him See I Truly Love Him, Despite His Height??? by Saintmary(f): 7:28pm On Jun 21, 2022 |
pozehnani: Somebody help me before I lose my mind.
I've been with this guy for some time now. When he first approached me, I wasn't too down with the idea of having a relationship with him, which I made clear to him. Though I had my reservations about him, which was his height but didn't let him know. Also, that time, there was this pharmacist (i shared about him some years ago) I was hoping would come open with his proposal to date me but he got ego and was using me to catch Cruise. As in.. each time I visited the pharmacy where he works, he'll be forming and acting like he didn't see me until I'm set to leave, he'll then want to block my way and turn everything to joke. saying.. " you don't want to marry fine boy abi? So I just parked him aside since he was not serious.
This other guy kept pestering me and was always calling. Suddenly, I began to like and miss him. Then he popped the question again and I was like... Ok, let's see how it goes. We started seeing each other.
Along the line, people started saying all sorts like, she doesn't love this guy. It's because no man is forthcoming that is why she settled for him bla bla.. which is not true.
Now they said it until it got to my baby. Since then, he's been withdrawn. He said I don't really love him. that those people might be right. He was just saying all that and after trying to convince him that I do without any success, I got angry and left. We didn't talk for three days.
I missed him so much and so I called and he told me I'm only pretending that I don't love him because he's short, he's not my spec and all that balderdash. I tried talking him out of it but he wouldn't hear me out.
Seriously, I love him. The way the love developed overnight is still a mystery to me but I do. I'm tired of explaining and begging.
How can I convince him that I sincerely love him. I've really emanciated since he started all these drama. He even saw me recently and was like it's the pharmacy guy I'm missing, not him. .
I posted a happy pics on my status on Friday with my students and he said, moving on without me, yeah?. Ok, I called him, he refused to pick. Later he texted me that, at my age, I should know better than to be posting happy pics when someone somewhere is not feeling fine. I replied, who's not feeling fine? Then he went, I said it! You don't love me. You don't care! Maybe if I were taller, things would have been different
Here's someone who refused to pick my calls turning around to accuse me.
Please, how can I let him know I really care about him. I'm tired! I want to settle down with him this year but this sudden act of his doesn't look promising. You are both immature. Drink water and rest this cool evening. P. S. Don't be desperate, you will still find your own husband |
Family › Re: My Father Is A Very Lazy Person by Saintmary(f): 1:16pm On Jun 21, 2022 |
boyfwend: Sorry to bother y'all.
So let me brief you all a little bit about myself, I'm the first son of a family of five. Also a 300-level student, all my life I have been depressing and saddened by the kind of family I found myself in.
First of all, I must commend my dad for pulling me from secondary level to University. The only thing I know my dad does for me is to pay my school fees and he leaves me with no other choice again. Let me clear y'all a lot about him.
Second of all, he does nothing, he's one of the Niger Delta amnesty beneficiaries which occurred some years ago. Ever since then, he depend on all that money to train five children. He's a stay-at-home dad, lol! My dad left me with depression and hunger for me to deal with here in school.
Now, what got me annoyed to bring this issue here is, that I came back home for some weeks now to sustain myself because I have been going through a lot over there. The little work that I use to do here in the village, was to get small money for myself and the girl that I brought home. This man has been relying on me all this while to be bringing money for feeding and any household stuff.
I have been here for two months now, working from Monday to Sunday and coming back late at night without any single savings on me. I cry every night, laying curses on myself and that angel that made me become a first child.
I give this man every money, ranging from the one he will use and smoke, eat, soap, etc. All he does is stay in the house from morning to night.
I'm tired!
School is depressing me, I have many courses that I am having issues with and no money to fix all these courses, and I have just a year to leave this school. Home is also making me choose suicide as the only option left.
Whenever I tell him I don't have money, he blows up and starts threatening me about how he's going to withdraw from assisting me academically.
I'm tired!! The more you see your dad as the cause of your misfortunes, the harder it will be for you to rise. |

Though I appreciate her good gestures, but I don't think it's right.. We are not married. What will her people say when dey see me with her like that because her father, mother, brothers and sisters will be there, not talking about her extended families.
I had to confide with a friend and he told me blantly that it is a set up, I should abort. That he had witness a similar case in a party when a guy was behaving as if he had paid his girlfriend bride price...what happened was the guy didn't leave the way he came. I won't want that to happen to me but before I decide I like to hear from you all.

Career › Re: How I Moved From Management Trainee To Assistant Manager Within 4 Years. by Saintmary(f): 7:20pm On Jun 19, 2022 |
Appliedmaths: I'm posting this to encourage someone out there.
My job hunting days started here on NL, in fact I got my first two (2) jobs here on NL after which recommendations and reputation opened more doors for me. There was one award I won in the job hunting section as the nairalander that crashes every job thread or something like that I can't remember
Below are what have been working for me so far.
Choose a career in the right industry Simply put, "e get some kind work wey I no fit do."
I'm a very calculative person, I was kinda selective during my early days because I knew where the money was. I also understand that you have to start little, but no matter how little please don't settle for the low tier industries.
You will be behind in all facets of life, trust me on this one.
Competence Nobody in life except your parents will be attracted to you if you don't have anything to bring to the table. Organizations will beg to have you and also dance to your terms when you have the right skill set to get the job done.
Under this point, I'll also add smartwork and personal development.
Networking with the right people Do not hide under a rock, simply put do not hide behind your desk from January to December.
Go out and meet the people you exchange emails with, put names to faces. Have their whatsApp numbers and connect. They know you're competent, they'll be more than happy to have you on their team or strongly refer you .
You must jump ships Make I use pidgin talk this one, dem no dey stay one place rise to the top. The people you met there will suppress you.
The people I left in my former places of work cannot lace my shoes right now. Please I am not bragging, I'm just stating the facts.
Jumping ships attract at least 40-60% and sometimes 100%+ salary increase and also position. So you decide where you'll pitch your tent.
The first 2 points will help you jump ships at your own will and terms.
On the other hand, don't jump ships too often.
The BIG God factor As a Christian, I cannot overemphasize this. You're not the most hardworking or brilliant mind out there, in my career journey I see people with higher qualifications than me that are way behind and I ask myself many questions.
It will pay you to run with the grace of God, believe me on this one. I attend some interviews and I ask myself if this is an interview or a hangout. There was one I attended the top two officers were asking and answering themselves questions that was meant for me .
Or how do you explain when you'll put all your life problems in your salary demand (which is higher than the industry standard by 30% or so) and the company will agree 100%. Last I checked you're not the only one in the market.
I'm still on my journey, but I just feel led to share this to encourage someone out there. I love the jumping ship part. I didn't read everything but, thanks. |

I guess i got so jeolosy & so angry withought thinking my immediate response was to raise my hand as it to throw something i was holding at him. I quickly realised what i was about to do & i stopped myself. I didnt hit him.
He was shocked too & he just said what kind of a wife is this. He also stated that action shows that i dont value him. I apologised yesterday but i woke up today feeling regret, and shame. Should i apologise again? But then the initial argurment i still feel like he was in the wrong?
My marriage means so much to me. We have come a long way from not having a cent , gave up my career to support his own career, raise our kids. Now he is a successful man . But i feel its now in vain. Sweetheart, why did you play yourself into a corner like this? Why did you sacrifice more than your energy and tolerance can handle? Why did you put yourself last? Jesus Christ already gave His Life, who asked you to be the Messiah? Was it the sweet sweet words he was telling you? What exactly did he promise you to make you give up your own life? You go on social media everyday, you read stories of betrayal but you thought it can never happen to you. Your darling is the angel you are lucky to marry, he's so different from the rest. Now you are gradually becoming the angry woman, bitter, jealous, and you're resorting to violence to get your voice heard. What do you want us to do now? How do you want us to tell him to toe your line? Apologize to him but deal with the underlying issues so you can take back the life you threw away so carelessly. 1. Dust your certificates 2. Learn a skill 3. Get a job no matter how small and start from there. It will not be a joy ride but your little accomplishments will make your life fuller. Good luck. |

sazzyyarns: My husband flogs me with cane and belt whenever we have an altercation. We are not newly weds and by now we should have understood each other.
He never apologizes when we reconcile instead he says i should stop doing things that provoke him (which doesnt include me going physical, so its not even in self defence). At this point im really just frustrated!!! He flogs me in the presence of the kids, sometimes he flogs them and then flogs me too. Are you still alive? |
