I really appreciate your response. my installer is proposing a setup which consists of Two (2) 12v 200ah AGM Batteries with 3.5kva inverter and Four (4) 200w solar panels. what do you think about this? Thanks in anticipation

It's a good setup but wont carry those loads. my advice get 4 more panels making a total of 8. Loads you can use when sun is at peak 12 and 3pm, briefly iron, pumping machine one after the other.
Your fridge from 9 to 5pm. Blender in between this time frame.
Television get energy saving type, watch in the later morning till evening.
Remember to get appliances that cosume less power like your fan for night sleep. In short you learn how to conserve energy .
Has for your ac , forget it. People will tell you lithium, inverter ac and all. It does not always end well. You go come back to normal ac in the end of the day. Get a mist fan or those cooling box if you must have ice block on your head. ...cheers. if money still dey you can add to the batteries also making it a total of 4 batteries. If not you are okay.
More batteries means more additional panels.

You did a mistake by calling all your siblings to discuss this matter with him. He will not listen,

First and foremost you should secure your dads properties, investment and documents..this should be left in the hands of your mum and a sibling you know that your dad listen to and respect. (Daddys pet ) to discuss with him.

This is a good one. That was the question I asked my electrician that with all these protection in the house, earthing of the panels, surge protectors etc.., what happens if there is a surge from any of the 3 phases of the transformer?
I guess this should come to the rescue?

From the transformer, the protection I have is a general stabilizer for the entire house. This also protects from generator and nepa surges. Before the stabilizer my standing fans and inverter usually gets toast.

If you really want to help her, ask her if it started from her childhood. If so ask if she was assaulted sexually then. Ask questions.

Materials for lightning arrestor not thunder.
The arrestor it self, copper tape, and earth rod, charcoal and lime.
Also it is good you procure it, but physics tells us if you are surrounded by taller structures the lightening will likely hit the structure or building before your bungalow. I am not surrounded by any structure open space, so lightening dey always find me, this was the 4th strike.

I just installed my own after losing two inverters the same day, the same time on the same lightning strike. My place is a storey building cost between 90 to 100k. But yours a bungalow the distance is shorter should be far less . Budget about 60 to 70k. For materials, what makes it costly is the copper tape. Hope this helps.

This is the solar system that was setup for my store. It's been about a month now since it was setup.
The problem with this system is that harvesting and charging is very poor. It barely charges well. And I am using it off grid - I only charge with the solar panels.

The charging is slow and if it continues this way, I fear the battery won't last as I hardly get a full charge. It's always one or two bars charging on very sunny days.

Please what should I do?

Do you have any idea how they installed your panels. If 3 or 4 in series. Then also provide the max voltage ratings on the back of the of the solar panels.

It is a bit of a catch 22 with the battery, the place should be ready soon and all I buy will be in storage. It is a case of buying when I can so as to avoid future jump in prices. I have looked into the LifePo4 battery and power wall battery pack using same battery tech but I never ordered directly from China before so I am looking at things closely.

As per AC, I am egding closer to a 1HP with dual inverter (I read that it offers faster cooling than single inverter AC). The idea of buying some of the appliances now is to avoid the naira instability and to have a physical presence of what I am powering with solar.

Abeg, any idea as to what brand of Hybrid inverter to go for. A few replies here suggested Deye 5kva but I am still doing my research on that one as I feel that perhaps having a slightly bigger one like 7 or 8kva version may be better.

This is one of the reason I suggested u read from the beginning to the end. U will learn from people's past experiences with what you want to procure. Getting a bigger kva inverters get ready for battery leaching, while the inverters is in standby, has for Ac inverters like I said read people experience it is all here.. most complain that the inverter ac was not performing has expected some changed back to normal Ac...do your research very well. Pls read.,.....
