1. You may edit your post ITA information in your eAPR see here. If you still believe you need an LOE then write the explanation you gave in one of your previous NL posts.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/assessing-electronic-application-on-section-a11-2.html

2. As Olalekan said...to whom it may concern. Some employers will want a specific address, in which case you may say that it is for an application, that's all! I would not advise you to say it is for a visit visa, besides being a lie, most people know that you don't need a JD to apply for a visit visa.

3. Sell/convert the crypto to CAD or USD in an account. Write an LOE to say what you did, attach statement of your crypto account and CAD/USD account and evidence of conversion if you want.

Essybeebee:
Hello All,

I've gone through the thread to get answers to some of my post ITA questions but still have a few that have not been clearly answered. I would appreciate if the house can help me provide detailed answers to these questions:

1) Can someone please send me a sample of an LoE? I need to explain why I filled in an incorrect country of study. So I'd appreciate a similar LoE.

2) Is it compulsory to address the reference letter from my current employer to :
The Immigration/Visa Officer,
Immigration, Refuges & Citizenship Canada,
Centralised Intake Office
PO Box....
Sydney...

I am trying to conclude this immigration process without raising any suspicion with my current employer. Can you advise on how to address the reference letter? Also can the reference letter be said to be a requirement for visiting visa application just in case I'm asked at work? Does it make sense to say that?

3) For POF, I didn't build my account statement before ITA and I have the full POF outside any of my bank accounts (it's in a cryptowallet at the moment). I saw that the options I have are either an investment letter or a FD certificate but would like to confirm which of them is advisable.
Also do I need to draft a gift of deed to make it more believable that I have such an amount?
I just need detailed advise on how I can provide the POF in such a way that my application will not be rejected and I won't be asked to bring an account statement down the line.

Thanks alot.

3. Cryptowallet is not accepted. Even though it might not be often, account statement can be asked at any point

DECISION TO MIGRATE
Since them born me actually...cause mannn, this country don spoil tey tey. But anyways, I have always wanted to leave as far back as I can remember. Tried the school route for my masters, didn't work. I got the full gist about EE from @COPR2020 and @teesquad007 early last year. I was in the 2nd year of my Msc then so I had to chill till I was done

ECA
Finished Msc in November 2019, result came out in Feb 2020. Used WES. Processed my transcript from Unilag same Feb. Had to grease someone's palm for my transcript to leave Unilag (another reason to run from this country). ECA came out June 3rd

IELTS
LRWS - 8.5, 8.5, 7.5, 8. Registered with IDP/MOD on the 26th May for 13th June. Maxed it in one sitting. Entirely by God's grace, cos this boy no sabi anything. Result came out on the 26th of June. Dived into the pool the next day

ITA - 8th July.

Medicals - Qlife

PCC - Insp. Moshood

POF -100% gift deed from my Dad. Notarised in court for 2k

reference LETTER -
Had to wait till I had gathered every other document before going to break the news to my boss that I needed a reference letter from him. I had just demanded for a raise in July (after having gotten one earlier in march). I was waiting for ending of August to see if my salary was raised. Salary came, it was raised. So you can imagine having to go and ask for reference letter to japa one month after demanding a raise.

Anyways, I went and told my boss I wanted to pursue another degree in Canada in 2022 and wondered if he would oblige to stand as a referee for my school application. He said no problem. So I told him that at the same time I was trying to process a residency permit to enable me work while schooling and would need a work reference letter from him (can u imagine such stupid lamba??). Baba said "enheh", I said "ehn". He said "ok, whenever the time comes". Nigga was thinking 2022.
One week later I went back and told him baba the time has come. Baba said "ahn ahn, enheh", I said "ahh, ehn". I sha got the reference letter after much much

AOR - 12th September 2020

obinnaonyeka:

@Mmamaroon
Please how do i proof work experience as an employee in a family owned business.
My story:
when i first started working in the company, i was employeed as contract, but it was still as a full-time accountant, my father wanted to be sure that i can learn and take over from his partner who was offering accounting duties, i was being paid eighty thousand naira, but that was in cash, then in january 2019 i was upgraded to full staff and started earning four hundred and twenty thousand naira , which was when the salary started being paid into my account, so since january 2019 i have been paid salary inside my account till date, so main issue is how do i proof my work experience that was paid in cash since its a family business. I have been working there for 3 years 8 months now. It will be a shame that working in family business will affect my chances for express entry.
Please note: The business is fully registered and has online presence(it has a website and it can be found on google maps. It is a trucking company)
Please any other individual with an opinion can also advice me. Thanks

Application Checklist here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/applications-received-on-after-january-1-2016-completeness-check.html

What IRCC asked us to provide as proof of work experience from application checklist, in screenshot below.

Some people include cash certificates for jobs where they were paid in cash. sample in the first post on page 1 of this thread, if you want to do the same.

I don't think working in a family owned company is an issue, so long as the company exists and you actually performed the duties in your work reference letter which are consistent with your chosen NOC....as well as meeting all other conditions of hours etc.

Goodluck!

One thing this Study Visa Journey has taught me is PATIENCE

My little advice for TRV hopefuls & Future Applicants

1) I will encourage every applicant to fulfil all righteousness when crafting their Canada study application

Remember "No Two Application is the Same" (there are many factors attached to this statement such as - different academic backgrounds, work experience, Marital Status, the Visa Officers reviewing your application & lots more)

2) Avoid any form of assumption that a Visa Officer won't need this or that, do your due diligence.

3) Show Career/Academic/Logical Progression most especially your Degree/work Experience should be resonating with the Program you are going for

also,

Show Progression in the qualification of Program you are going for e.g
- B.SC grad (2.1) going for a Masters
- B.SC grad (2.2) & HND grad going for a PGD/PG. Cert/ Post Baccalaureate Diploma

If you have a 2.1 and you want to go for a PG. Cert, endeavor to show cogent reasons in a convincing manner in your SOP why you are going for a PG. Cert instead of a Masters Degree

4)- Assume yourself as a VISA OFFICER, assess your documents, read ur SOP to urself and point out your errors.
- Also regarding ur SOP, avoid any form of Plagiarism to the bearest minimum.
- Show Originality when writing your SOP,
- Be 100% Patriotic - don't say unpleasant things about Nigeria on your SOP, how you can upgrade your career and also help in the improvement of the Nigerian Economy after studying in Canada is very Paramount, talk about it in your SOP.
- Avoid Grammatical Errors in your SOP
- Subheadings Will make your SOP readable, don't write your SOP in Composition/Essay Manner
- Any thing you mention in your SOP, make sure you have a document that confirms it.

5) Read Success Stories of Applicants that have gotten Approval in the Past, most especially from 2018 till date, you might just see an applicant with your exact kind of profile that got approval which u can learn one ot two things from.

6) Also, if you are on the verge of starting or submitting your application, endeavor to ask questions in the forum on things u are not clear of. There are many things you gonna learn here that an agent don't know about or won't even tell you.

If you are an Applicant going for Masters/PH.D, this thread is a training ground for you to learn how to do research before the real research, so don't feel bad if someone tell you to start reading from Page 1, u gonna gain a lot.

7) Take your time and read this Thread Explicitly.
I never had an iota of experience on Canada Study Visa application. Reading this thread in my leisure period for a year helped me tremendously and this made my application strictly DIY (do-it-yourself)

cool Finally,
after Submitting your application, Talk to God to take Control/Charge of your Study Visa Processing, cos in every situation (good or bad) God will still be God.

As we all know the motto of this forum
"it will end in Praises (in frankrobbn's Voice)"

I'm wishing all applicants awaiting a decision from IRCC a FAVORABLE ONE

Remain Blessed Honorable Sir's & Ma's!!!!

Congratulations on your PPR, please I am in the process of applying for study permit, you said something about writing sops with headers, can anyone help me with reviewing my sop please. Also can anyone help with a sample letter of sponsorship...this are the only two things I need to complete my documents. Please guys I would really appreciate as much help right now. Oh before I forget how do I go about with the digital photograph. Thank.

oko134:
Good Morning everybody.

Special thanks to everybody that has contributed towards the building of this thread. It is heavy and lengthy but worth reading all the time.

I am fortunate to be one of those who got ITA on August 05.

I have succeeded in filling out the forms for Permanent Residence. I already have a document checklist and I have tried to gather all the documents needed.

However, so many things are confusing based on the cic site configuration and it's clear that previous experience will help, hence, I decided to run to the lords here for counsel.

1. For PoF:

I have a Zenith Bank reference Letter (they did not include the opening balance or the balance as at the day the letter was done), in addition, I got my statement of account (8 pages) for a six month period, I also got a letter of Non-Indebtedness.

I got some money from my mom. To this effect, I have a notarised Deed of Gift, A bank Transfer Teller from my mom and electronic evidence from the bank to the effect of the transfer.

On the cic website, you can upload only once for each document type (like PoF)

My question is, should I merge all the documents into a single pdf and upload it once or I should upload only the Bank reference and add others under the optional documents section.

2. work reference Letters

I got all my work reference Letters in January before Covid-19 Lockdown (I had an ITA in January which I declined for some reasons).

The dates on the work references are far, hope it doesn't matter.

I was paid cash for two out of the three employments. Must I provide pay stubs? I really don't have them.

Thanks to everyone that will take out time to reply me. My application is on hold until i get answers here.

Thank you all.

1. POF - please scan/merge ALL these into a single PDF file and upload in the POF placeholder.

2. work Ref Letters - IRCC don't mention anything about the date as far as I know, but some people feel a more recent letter is better. If you can get a more recent ref, good. If not, no problem.

For employment paid in cash, I don't think IRCC explicitly asks us for evidence of pay (although many of us add SOA and pay slips), provided it is already contained in your ref letter, but you may want to think ahead to what you would provide as evidence if you got an ADR. sample of cash certificate on page 1.

All the best!

For the applicant’s current country of residence, the police certificate must have been issued no more than six months before the submission of the e-APR. For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant lived in that country. Read more about police certificates HERE. Ensure you carefully check the IRCC requirement for the country you are getting a PCC for, as some also require additional docs like a driving licence. Scan your PCC in colour NOT black & white.

- Biometrics : You should schedule an appointment online with your closest Visa Application Center (VAC). There are two VACs in Nigeria - Abuja and Lagos. Read more about biometrics HERE.

-work Experience reference Letter: ensure that the job description on your reference letter matches (1) the lead statement, (2) all the essential duties and (3) most of the main duties listed on your chosen NOC. More about NOC HERE. Read a strategy for getting your reference letter HERE. **NOC mismatch is one of the most common reasons for rejected FSW applications.**

It is your job DESCRIPTION (i.e. the tasks you performed) that matters NOT your job TITLE.

Adetayoade1:
Greetings to you sir please I have two questions
1) what address to the embassy should my SOP carry and also my reference letter from employer

2) My employment was to gain work experience so it wasn’t on a salary basis but I was given allowance steady as I was working in my sibling please what title can I give as the heading for the reference letter
Regards

Hello sir,

(1) Please don't stress yourself about address. The popular VI address is fine for SOP and reference letter.
The Visa officer,
Deputy High Commission of Canada,
4 Anifowose street, Victoria Island
Lagos, Nigeria.

(2) Can he give you an official letter to show proof of employment? Letter of introduction, employment letter to state duration, roles and responsibilities in the company and so forth? If he can, he may also state in his letter that he gave you xyz amount monthly.

If you don't have a salary account that's fine. Attach your normal savings or current account plus your sponsor's to the application.

There are numerous reference letters via google search. You can get sample headings from there and guidelines on content of such letter.

WOW, I really tap into your testimony. Please I have an issue that has been giving me sleepless nights, I'll appreciate if I could be guided by these awesome members. The profession on my marriage certificate is different from my profession, I had used "Analyst" because i thought that Admin was too casual of a job in Nigeria and wanted to upgrade into being a business analyst, now I regret my action. Where I worked, anybody can be titled an Analyst even corp members that came to do their PPA with us so I titled that to myself too since we were all doing the job. They would even meet me for directions even though I'm handling the administrative part 100%. Now, I want to use Admin officer as my NOC but I'm scared because at some point I will have to submit my Marriage Certificate Post-ITA and they will see a different profession. NB: My reference letter will bear Admin officer because where I currently work my position is Admin and my former employee will also give me admin reference. Thanks for your advice in advance.

ITA:
Created our profile on the 11th of August immediately I picked up my wife’s IELTS Test Report Form. We got ITA the following day (12th August 2019)

MEDICALS: Was a seamless process at Qlife family clinic, Lagos on 3rd September, 2019.
I was initially quite worried because my son had a birth injury (Erb’s palsy) which makes him have some difficulty raising his left arm high above his head (he is otherwise a healthy and active boy) and I wasn’t sure of the grounds for medical inadmissibility.
I asked several questions back then on this forum, and @Topsmamen and @Ladymarshall were very helpful to us.
The Panel Physician assured us that we were fine, and then I could relax a bit.

PCC: Inspector Moshood sorted out our PCCs at 3.5k each on 2nd September 2019 (I got his contacts from this thread).

ECA:
I started out the process as the PA so I had gotten my ECA report from MCC since August 2018.
I, however, was too busy at work to give IELTS preparation any time. After the drop in ITA score to 438 in January 2019, I was gingered and immediately registered for IELTS.
After realizing that we had no hope with a CRS score of 444 we had to change strategy – Wifee had to be the PA (age advantage).
I evaluated my wife’s credentials with WES (Canadian Equivalence = Master’s degree). Slight delays from University of Port Harcourt’s end, but thank God it all ended in praise. The report was obtained on January 14th, 2019.

POF:
100% Gift Deed from my dad (PA’s father In-Law). Gift deed was notarized.
I also transferred 1.5m to wifee's account to buffer just in case of currency fluctuations.
We purchased treasury bills with the gifted sum, and left the 1.5million in her account.
We submitted: Treasury Bills certificate, My wife's 6months Bank account statement, Letter of reference from Bank (very generic letter from Access Bank with only the date the account was opened and that the customer is recommended for business relationship), a letter of non-indebtedness, notarized gift deed, transfer receipts from my dad’s account, my bank statement showing the transfers to my wife’s account, a letter of support from me stating I transferred funds to my wife’s account, and an image of OANDA converter exchange rate on the date of submission. I even went overboard to add my dad’s international passport and pictures of my parents with us on our wedding day (so no VO will say they aren’t sure of something – maybe this was too much sha).

reference LETTERS:
We claimed work experience from 2 different schools my wife worked for.
My wife worked for 2 years in the first school. She then took out time to go for her Master's degree full time).
Thereafter, she worked for 9 months in a second school, after which she resigned to go work as a customer care agent for over 9 months. Little did we know this would not count as it was under NOC C. When we realized (by further research) in May 2019, she immediately resigned and went back to the second school to continue teaching. As God will have it, when she was finally ready to write IELTS again in July 2019, she had gotten the extra 3months of work experience so we could claim 3years.
So, we added 2years (School 1) + 9months (School 2 – April to January 2018) + 4months (School 2 – May to Sept 2019).
N/B: The current principal in her PPA refused to give us a reference letter for her NYSC period. He said he could not find any records in the school of happenings before 2016 when he became principal, so he could not issue any letter. Thank God for making a way for us without needing that.
My wife was paid in cash in school 1, so we submitted a salary certificate in addition to the reference letter which stated mode of payment, employment letter, and resignation letter.
For her first period in school 2 she was paid via cash cheques. We submitted the reference letter which stated mode of payment, payslips, employment letter, resignation letter, and the schools 2018 brochure showing her pictures.
For her second period in school 2, she was paid via her bank, so we submitted the reference letter, payslips, re-instatement letter and bank account statement showing salary deposits.

VISA REFUSALS: I declared my previous US and UK visa refusals, and attached the refusal letters. I did NOT fill a schedule A form and was never asked for one.

LOEs: There was an age discrepancy on our marriage certificate, for which we did an "affidavit for correction of age" and also explained in an LOE.
We also had LOEs for proof of funds and visa refusals.

PASSPORT: Scanned only stamped pages or pages containing visas (NOT ALL PAGES). I included my old passport also.

THE WAIT:
Honestly, I was already mentally preparing to start waiting. Our TBills are to be due in January and was planning to send an updated POF then.
We do not know our Visa office and did not raise any CSE.
Had no ADR.
I joined an Indian and a Nigerian whatsapp group, but realized that I wasn’t ready for the tension generated by people second guessing their applications, hence I left all whatsapp groups and made this thread may daily stopover for encouragement – looking out for PPR stories.

PPR:
I watched Daddy GO almost every night of the RCCG Congress 2019, and when he said on day 6 that we should ask God for something big, getting our PPR in January was one of the things I asked for.
I even googled a sample picture of a PR visa, printed it out in colour, wrote my name on it with the issue date as January 2020 and put it on my bedroom wall (vision board). This was on Sunday the 15th of December (after the night session of Day 6 on the 14th of December).
Lo and behold, my wife shouted this evening, screaming that I should come downstairs with my laptop. I was initially wondering why, as she knew I was working on a project using my laptop. The first thought on my mind was that the golden mail had landed, but it was too good to be true so I pushed the thought aside and ran downstairs to go see to my damsel in distress…
The look on her face and her radiant smile said all I needed to know, and we started screaming…
The golden mail in her mailbox was dated 16th December 2019 even though she noticed it just this evening.
Our kids kept on asking us, “Daddy what is wrong?” Mummy, what is the problem?”
All we could say was: “There is no problem my love. With time you will know okay.”
Glad they are very understanding.

Thank God it has ended in praise for us.
It is still so unreal to me, but I will be ungrateful if I do not testify to God’s goodness unto us. I was expecting this in March when our 6months would have expired, not knowing my prayer of faith will be answered so speedily. Processing time of just over 3months. It can only be God! I pray this encourages someone also praying for the same.

Now I can focus and prepare for my final exams to become a Consultant Surgeon in a few months’ time (my back up plan if I ever have to return to Naija).

Hoping to travel in June 2020 God willing.

Many thanks to @Topsmamen, @Ladymarshall, @Cutieplum, @Adunnee, @ifeoma77, @Joo2018, @Intellectualmum, @Rebe, @shege45 for their selfless help through this process. May God richly bless you all!

Sorry for any typos. I was just in a hurry to share my joy.[/quote]

Thanks a lot tunlex01
This response is really helpful.
My colleagues that were sacked were fired just because they wanted to leave the job and travel abroad. Nothing else.

I will have to use my current company since there's no other option, however I'll supply my supervisor's contact and hope they'll contact him directly.

2. I still have my employment letter. Please I'll like to get a sample of a reference letter; I don't even know who it is addressed to. How do I get a payslip? So I should go and pay tax for the entire 9 years I've been working? That would be outrageous.

Good. Just ensure you read your assessing body's requirements carefully. The addressee is determined by the assessing body
For sample of reference letter, see the next post.

Which occupation are you nominating?

It's up to you to pay tax or lose the years (depends on the assessing body) or a physical verification will be conducted. If you have pension statement, then that could work in stead of the tax statement.

I don't see why it should be. As long as it is in an eligible NOC, you were paid and you can get the requested letter, you should be fine. Since it is a family business, I would take proactive steps like including paystubs/checks or show salary inflows into the account, this helps you immensely.

You only get work reference letters for jobs you are claiming points for. The rest goes into personal history. Short answer, No.

Pay-slips are not a requirement when applying for EE, people include it to solidify their applications. How were you paid? If you were paid in cash, please see page one for a sample Cash Salary Certificate. Include your bank statement showing salary deposits, this would be very helpful to your application.

I hope this helps. Good luck with everything!

Thank you so much for your response. I get the vibe that you're a nice person. I have checked page one and I will be able to get the salary certificate. Thanks again.

I work in my brother in law's company. it will be 3 years in august, before then I worked in customer care but that job doesn't fall under the eligible noc types for EE so I want to use only my current job. Is that going to be a problem?

Also in this current job, getting a work reference won't be a problem at all but we don't get payslips. Can I make do with just the work reference? Do I absolutely need to get payslips cz it's really not going to possible.

Hello my ogas,
Please is there a particular address the work reference letter needs to be addressed to or a simple "to whom it may concern" is enough? I came across a sample on the previous post and I'm not sure if that's the right address or just a sample address. I would appreciate it if anyone can help with the right address if there's one please.
I think ‘To whom it’s may concern is good enough’. What really matters is that the letter contains the required information by IRCCh

A JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES BEGIN WITH A STEP…
ITA – 12/06/19
AOR- 25/06/19

MEP 1- 25/07/19
Biometrics – 05/08/19

GU3- 17/09/19
ADR(for RPRF) – 18/11/19 (submitted same day)
ADR changed to NA – 02/12/19
PPR – 02/12/19
VO- Ottawa
Family of 2
COPR: 23/12/19
NOC – 2212(primary) and 4031 (secondary) ECA: WES was used for the evaluation in 2018. The challenge faced was with the mistake made by spouse’s university on her day of birth. The university took up the responsibility by reaching out to WES for correction and we sent a corrected transcript as well. The follow-up was done through twitter and new ECA was issued for my spouse.
IELTS: The magic score didn’t come on a platter of gold. L:8.5 R:8 W:7 S:7. what I can say here based on my experience is that IELTS difficulty level varies, some can have an easy one while some might encounter a hard one. Bottom line is that we shouldn’t give up and keep on pushing until we get the desired score. The fact remains that everyone’s target is not the same. Also, its best to stick to one resource material. My recommendation still remains IELTS Liz (past questions and writing), E2 language Jay(speaking), ieltsonlinetests-google search (reading and listening) Medicals: We had our first medicals in July 2018 at children’s Practice (no longer listed by IRCC) hoping that ITA will arrive and due to personal schedules. We submitted it like that for AOR with one month to expire. The medical was passed. By August 2019, we went for another medical test proactively at Q-life (we booked via telephone then followed by email). We uploaded the medical reports via CSE and there were no issues and the medical was passed too. PCC: It was seamless at Alagbon in Lagos. I will just point out that after the first one expired, they changed only the certificate with an updated one without having to thumbprint again. It was uploaded like that and no issues at all. The price is very flexible and can be as low as #3500 up to #10000…make we shine our eyes wella. Other countries PCC that I submitted like UK and UAE were seamless as well.
POF: It was a gift from my family. It comprised of: one-month bank statement (shows the transaction dates), transfer slips, gift letter (not notarized) and exchange rate of the day (oanda and XE). I will point out that the bank statement was online generated version that I used.
work Experience: My primary NOC employer wasn’t willing to give me the reference letter and it took time before I could gather the documents. I submitted salary certificate which covers part of the requirement of a reference letter, bank statement and a JD and work hours’ letter from a fellow employee and I attached his company’s business card. For my secondary NOC, it was my NYSC experience, I had reached out to my PPA (took time as well) and was given the reference letter in CIC format. I added my NYSC bank statement (no bank stamp) too. I will point out that the reference letter bears the salary paid by the school which was in cash and the duration was stated in MMYYYY format not DDMMYYYY format which can possibly give some headache about whether NYSC is one year or 10 months. A LOE was used to explain the documents in this section for clarity. Post-AOR: It was not easy because there were times of doubt and anxiousness. Generally, I prayed more and was positive throughout. It’s always good to find a distraction as this will prevent tension and keep sanity. lols Shout Out: There are some people whom have had opportunity to engaged with during this process and my post won’t be complete without giving them a shout out. @Newmum0615 (thanks for helping me fine-tuned my JD) @Ifeoma77(a lady with a beautiful mind, I appreciate you for the times I sent you on an errand for my EOR pickup and delivery, I am so grateful that you accepted my request for assistance even though we never met) @Topsmamen (thanks for responding to my email concerning our discussion on my reference letter) @Nairalandnewbie (am grateful to you for giving me a sample of a typical reference letter for consideration). Also to my friends here @Adeyemmy24 @bankedorcas for always checking on me. My June AOR crew ably led by my landlord @scandinavian02. Finally, to every prospective Canadian PR applicants who are yet to give up despite the challenges they are facing. God bless you all. Amen Final Words: Life is a journey full of battles such is this PR journey. We will encounter challenges but it varies, we can only win by not quitting because winners never quit. Likewise, faith is vital too because without it we won’t get anything done. I wish all of us the best. @Yemblaze @Eraytee @Stencil @Bankhy keep up the good work. We shall all get to our destination. Amen… Cheers

I was just in a hurry to share my joy.

Congratulations grin grin grin. I tap 4rm your faith. I willjoin those who will give positive testimony about pr here ijn.

Madam side:
She isn't the "heavy reading type", but somehow she always gets it done - as long as an exam is involved. Her first attempt was not very convincing, however, the Second which was her last, and enough to give us the maximum point as a "supporting striker" - 8.5, 7, 7, 7 - IDP - PDT. This only goes along to buttress the theory that "Females are better than their counterparts in the IELTS" test. Well, as always, that is left for you to contradict - I will be glad if you don't, anyways.

IELTS ME+MADAM = CRS@475

Presently: Gently waiting for Wednesday, so I can shout IT'S ITA, BABY!!!

*MY GOLDEN TIPS AND LESSON LEARNED FROM THE IELTS*
- Do not have too many materials - you do not need them.
- Practice, Pray, Practice
- Just read to understand the exam structure, and what is required for just a week.
- Do not at any time underestimate the exam - You'll regret you did.
- Practice consistently for at least 6 weeks
- Never practice alone - i.e have someone review your work. I cannot tell you how much this changed everything.
- Try to identify your weaknesses and fight it to the last
- Pray, and sleep at the night leading to your exam.
- Just do whatever legal to ensure you get your desired score.
- The IELTS IDP Writing Module material is a MUST have - well written.
- Do not write above 300 words
- Lastly, should more than 50% of your total sentences have any error based on the 4 grading criteria - you'll hardly scale through to 7.0 - the main reason many are stuck at 6.5.
- Have enough time to proofread your Essay and Letter at least 4 times for each of the marking criteria before you submit.

PERSONAL OPINION ON WHERE/WHICH TO WRITE
*IDP Paper* - only if you have never used a computer or you're never comfortable working with one.
*IDP CDT* - They don't have CDT in Nigeria, so I cannot speak for their CDT abroad
*BC Paper* - I did not take their Paper DT, so I cannot speak for their PDT
*BC CDT* - This is new and should be considered, do not fret for the listening, you'll only have to type One Word for each question in both Section 1 and Section 4. Find the Video on Youtube so proper understanding of how it is being delivered.

OVERALL: Guys, I strongly believe, BC is using the CDT to entice people to switch to the computer system method of delivery. And, mind you, your result comes out int 5-7days. Just give your next attempt a trial with BC CDT, you'll be glad you did. Looking at my score you can easily see the difference, especially in the reading.

Guys, so that's it for me, it has been a learning experience for me not to believe the arm of flesh, as it is written in the Holy book that "the arm of flesh will fail you". Please do not rely on yourself alone, reach out to people, ask for prayers, and most importantly study/practice hard. Always remember that no man is an island.

I hope this write up inspires you to go for greatness, pursue your dream, and even beyond IELTS, help you to understand that "Miracle still happens." Keep fighting, keep hustling, and keep practicing, sooner than later, you'll be sharing your testimony.

Thank you all, and do have a wonderful journey to Canada.

MY STORY
DECISION TO MIGRATE

Growing up and coming from my kind of humble background, I have always wished to go abroad but how was that going to happen (local man had no clue). During my NYSC days back in 2014 in IB, I remember how myself and my guy Chris would talk about saving money and running to Dubai just in a bid to japa any which way. After NYSC, got a job that paid local man 25k in IB (the joy in my heart that i got a job ehn...chai..I even forgot about travel plans, may be bcs money was too small). Left the job and moved to Lagos 5months later (in my mind I don blow until our naira got devalued again)
Fast forward to sept 2017 was preparing for my final ICAN exam when a friend hinted and briefed me on this canny waka and how his brother was leaving in 2months and that he was already in the race to japa...Local man was in shock (but pushed it aside to prepare for my exams I had in November 2017 but there and then I knew this was my way out).
In the course of my research I stumbled on this thread in part3 when the likes of @Newmum (NOC matching specialist who was expecting PPR at the time) and @McStan visibly active.
The information here is “nmua”. Even my friend was shocked at how much I came to know in such a short while.
Got my passport in Jan 2018 and also registered for my first IELTS for Feb 20, 2018

IELTS

Booked my ielts with MOD and preparation began. Used ielts Liz, ielts studybuddy basically to see sample essays, watched youtube videos for speaking to get an idea of what to expect, used cambridge materials for listening and also practiced lots of Maps and Diagram questions on youtube.
After my exam, I booked another one with BC for March 3, 2018 because I knew my listening didn’t go so well because I never expected a loud speaker would be used for the test. LRWS-6.5,8.5,7,7
Second test was in Abeokuta. LRWS-8.5,9,7,7. CRS was in the 440’s at this time and because I was still expecting ECA report, I applied for remark hoping for a 0.5 increase in Writing and Speaking (waste of 15k after waiting over 3months and nothing happened. I doubt if a remark was even done on my exam sef...I felt these guys just repacked my TRF for me after plenty calls from me). I remember I had to sit for like 20mins to catch my breath and regain strength to go home because even my legs immediately grew weak immediately I opened my report and saw nothing changed. Local man wanted to cry...Chai

ECA

I started working on this in December 2017 but because of NASU strike, not much could be done.
Fast forward to June 2018, ECA report was ready and I dived into the pool at 435 (scores refused to crash and the hustle for a second certificate began)
I remember back then in 2018, the constant questions about “if ICAN positively evaluated” and deliberation about “the evaluation outcome of F1-F3 with WES”. I was able to contact someone from my findings who had evaluated the same, even claimed exemption for one paper and got a 1year canadian equivalent. I was so excited and I shared that info here but it didn't take long before WES craze started and evaluating same certificate as one-semester (Chai see panic everywhere). I was particularly devastated by the development but local man cannot can what he can’t make to can.
At this point, a whatsapp group had to be created for those who needed a second certificate.

THE STRUGGLE FOR ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATE

A group-(ACCA/CIMA/UNILAG HRDC) was created by our boss lady HALBOND(dont know her moniker here) and my pakistan friend @AYUB I met here who can panic for the whole of his continent added me to the group and everyone started to brainstorm on possible options we had. It dint take long and group was full to capacity. Along the line just like the plantashun boyz crew, another group (PR Dream) was birthed and some go solo and others too follow (long story) grin grin grin
We all wanted to go the open university route, unilag hrdc came up at some point, we deliberated about CIMA and how it might fly but we dint have success stories to back this up, ACCA FIA to the rescue for @smslive2 (very resourceful sombori), we all dived in (but this dint go well for all of us who did. some were flashed with one-semester others got 3yrs evaluation outcome), BTEC & QUALIFI came up too, a lot of others opted for this, BCS too...and finally CIMA seemed to be the easiest route to go as of now.
I wrote four ACCA foundation papers in about 3weeks in July 2018 but the outcome was one-semester in sept 2018. There was a lot of controversy around using it but I made up my mind to use it in Oct 2018. I had all doc's and ready for submission in Nov. 2018 but chickened out last minute and decided to go the extra mile to get an ACCA advanced diploma certificate by writing more papers in the Nov 2018 diet exam (those I did not write, I claimed exemption for using my ICAN certificate).
NB- using the one-semester would have still worked. I know over 6 success stories of comrades on this trip. If you have it and with no other option in sight, please use it.
3rd ECA report came out in March 2019 and I got ITA April 3.

PCC

First was done in Oct 2018
I called inspector moshood but on getting to Alagbon, a junior inspector (cant remember his name) hijacked me and offered to help. He works with the legal office that is just by the entrance on the left. Paid 3.5k
Second was done March 2019 and used the same guy but paid like 2k this time since it was just renewal. Dude wished me well and prayed I get what I was looking for. Nice guy

MEDICAL

IOM to the rescue in November 2018, even though i didn’t go ahead to submit my application, it was the same medical I used in April 2019 for my application.
Got re-medical request in Oct 2019 and decided to go with Q-Life this time. I had a better experience with Q-Life (spent less time at the clinic)

POF

Used investment certificate with FBN quest, 6months bank statement and 25% of pension (shikini money)
Family and friends (I least expected came through for me here too and I am most grateful). Make I no talk put plenty for here, it was a struggle meeting up with expected funds but am glad it ended well

PROOF OF work EXPERIENCE

Ended up using one employer because as at April 2019, I had 3yrs+1month with my employer (but was also able to get reference letter from my IB employer but I moved this experience to personal history). I don't like to complicate things.
Got it in required format without stress, there was already a max exodus of staff at the time and HR already knew what they needed to do.

DOCUMENT COLLATION FOR SUBMISSION

I used camscanner to scan all my docs, named them properly as appropriate. Took photograph with my phone used for submission (learnt that here). Everything was in place, did my reviews and pushed everything over to CIC April 10, 2019. I was 95% certain I filled a good error free application.

THE LONG WAIT POST AOR

I was going to bet my POF that PPR will come in 4months max shocked shocked(yimmu, big lie)
After submission of my application, 6days later, I resigned and moved somewhere else (I was vexing for them because for 3yrs, no growth and no pay raise...nothing. I also did not get a promotion I earned even after like a yr of waiting and hoping)
At my new employment, for the first 3months I was overwhelmed with work but somehow I loved the challenge (I dint also join a post AOR group until after my biometrics because worked somehow made me forget that)
Finally got to join one (April/May AOR) and that was where my panic attack started o (I wanted to leave at some point but the group turned out to be a great and resourceful one at the end)
Analysis here and there from members, how to know when you get to the fake/real ip1 and ip2, sticker fights here and there (thanks to our legendary sticker king @seye...dont know his moniker here), you will wake up and see like 1000 messages and after going through it, you find out say na jokes and sticker fights full am (wetin concern me, I was enjoying the journey, the fun and sarcasm).
I raised a couple of CSE’s (to update CIC that i was a member of ICAN- this was when a story came up about someone who was denied because he did not declare that he was a BOD with a company, raised CSE to know my VO, to persuade them not to forget my file o, told them how excited I was about my plans to move to canny, raised CSE for updated POF when the story of denial because of mutual fund was flying upandan, raised CSE to remind them my medical was going to expire and that I have booked an appointment for a new one. All to blow dust on my application. Did this all work? I don’t know o)
When people started in PPR once they see a GU, It didn't take long and I got an update for re-med and I knew my too was around the corner.
Re-med was done and it didn't take long before an email with the subject “Ready for Visa / Prêt pour Visa” was sitting in my inbox (In-fact I had woken up at 3am to check for it. I did see it and that was the end of my sleep for the night)

SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT
