@Baisy,

That is misrepresentation and grounds for a 5 year Ban. It is not worth it, Patience is the name of the game for Canadian PR, If i were you, i would reject the ITA and wait for my ECA to come in. Point 3 means you will likely need an FBI PCC, Looking at trends, that might take you 2- 3 months to get. Once you get your ITA, your 90 days count down begin so you need to get your docs ready. Your reference letter can be have the heading To Whom it may concern and have your Co Founder to sign on this. I am sure i have seen a couple of samples on this thread. search and you'll find.

All the best!

Hello everyone.

I am new on this forum even though wifey has been telling about how great this forum is. In fact, she shared useful information from this space with me in the past.

So I received ITA yesterday but there's a snag because ECA wasn't completed by the time I submitted my EE profile. My questions will in three folds and I will appreciate if anyone can give guidance on how to proceed.

Here goes:

1) What do I do because the date quoted in the EE submission for ECA will be totally different from the ECA Certificate? Reject, edit and wait for next draw?

2) I have worked and lived in different countries in the past so knowing that I need security clearance in Nigeria, can anyone advise on how to get clearance in UK & America?

3) I currently work in a company I co-founded and knowing that there has to be reference Letter from place of work (also do I get from all my past employers), I will appreciate if anyone has a sample of the sort of letter to write plus who is it supposed to be addressed to?

Lastly, is there any other thing I should know about?

Thank you people.

@ZoeW I have 3 sample RPL for Your friend guide. But i need to take permission from the person that sent it to me. If she says it is ok i will let you know.

Also your friend should maximize the RPL opportunity. They will deduct 6 yrs it is better if she can get reference letter or statutory declaration of work done prior & during university days so that all her experience from day of graduation from surv & geo can be used to claim points 10 points. This can save her a lot if english test stress.

As far as ACS is concerned It is in ur hands.
Thanks so much. I also sent you a PM request. Abeg help sisters out o! We need help.

Start by addressing the lecturer with appropriate tittle e.g Dr,prof, etc. Introduce yourself. If you did not take the toef or any other state why eg you are from Nigeria English is the language of instruction ,u studied in English from primary school. State that u intend pursuing masters this or next year and after going through list of Supervisor and discovered his research work mainly focused on your interest. Tell him ever since your UG u have been interested in the said discipline. Say you read his article title... Which he authored or co authored with.... (Don't forgot to make reference) which he explained..... Tell him what you have been doing in that domain. Let him know you meet minimum eligibility requirements for international student s admission . let him know you are highly interested in working actively under his supervision. Attached transcript, CV, and any achievement in the domain tell him to kindly review and let you know if you are qualified. If you have any extra curricular activities in that domain pour out your involvement.

N B always make it short and captivating to capture the supervisor since you are not the only candidate. Send to many supervisor in less than no time you will get a positive respond.
Hope this helps.

Hello everyo and congrats to everyone that receievd ITA. Please I have a couple of questions. On my international passport I have four names as stated on my NPC (birth certificate) but on my school documents and work documents I use just two or three of the names, will that be a problem?

You need to state the name as indicated on your international passport. This is the name you are known for in your country. However, There is a section for cases where people bear other names, if you do as stated, please say yes and include them. You won't be required to include your birth certificate - this is for kids, but a VO may require it especially when your name in some of your documents is the same.

When you indicate your bear other names. Don't forget to get an affidavit to show you bear other names. A document upload for other names will be indicated in your document checklist. You can include your affividate and possibly, your birth certificate to show the other names you bear

Also, You can explain using LOE to avoid confusion though, but I don't think it's necessary especially if your last name and first name is always present in all your documents.

Secondly I have funds in treasury bills enough for a single applicant and a little over a million in my statement of account, will that be fine as I expect them to add it all up.

Treasury bill certificate is a good indicator for POF. Since you have enough for one applicant, I believe you are going single, then you are good. If you want to still include your 6 months statement of account to show the other funds, even more perfect. Your POF is more than enough - More is good.

Thirdly do I need a letter of non indebtedness and reference letter from the bank ( I heard from someone that got PR that I don't but all I need is statement of account but on this thread, I read people using all of the above.) please can someone assist with a sample of the reference letter needed?

You don't need to do this.

Fourthly I want to notarize my recommendation letter from my boss but I don't know which one CIC will accept and please can anyone assist with a sample of what CIC needs?

Don't know what you mean by recommendation letter. What's your boss recommending you for? Except you mean reference letter. On the other hand, why can't you get reference letter from your H.R/Admin. This is the authorized dept that can use the letter head of your company. Your boss/supervisor cannot use the letter head of your company. He can only use plain paper, sign, leave contact details and include his business card. It was previously allowed for supervisors to use company's letterhead but it's now being abused. Again, the VO will prefer to confirm if both you and your supervisor are staff members of your company. Using your supervisor is allowed when you can't get reference letter from HR.

I don't know what you are notarizing. Does the lawyer who will notarize this document can prove with all certainty that your supervisor is actually your supervisor. The VOs will do their checks if they are not satisfied, but try to get HR reference if you can. Also, you can attached a picture of you at work, just to support your case that you work in that company.

Fifth please does anyone have a sample ogbu LOE. I know it pertains to peculiar cases but please anyone that has gotten PR already can assist if anyone's that hasn't gotten doesn't feel comfortable enough.

No typical template for LOE. But you can follow the proper letter structure.

Thank you so much for all your help as usual. I am trying to prepare myself as I know m so close. Stay blessed

This thread aims at providing guide, instructions and genuine advice to prospective applicants for Australian permanent resident visa through the skilled migration program. For those looking to apply for study (student) visa, the link below will be more useful as it has enough information about applying to schools and Australian study visa. This new thread is specifically for permanent resident visa application.

Prospective students, follow this thread.. https://www.nairaland.com/2338380/general-australian-visa-enquiries-part

By way of introduction, Australia has a number of pathway to getting permanent resident status but the easiest is the skilled migration. Skilled migration, as the name implies means opportunity for both "academic skilled and technical skilled" people to migrate legally and permanently to Australia. The program was originally designed to address skill shortages in the country generally, so they came up with a system that attracts people who can meet the minimum requirements.

There are five visa subclass in the skilled migration pathway namely Subclass 189 (Independent), 190 (State sponsored), 489 (Regional/nominated provisional), 132 (Business Talent) and 188 (Business Innovation and investment, provisional). I will be talking strictly on the first three. See link for Australian Border Force's website for the skilled migration.. http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/work/Skil

The three visa subclass, 189, 190 and 489 are for professionals, technologists, artisans and trade workers who can meet up to minimum of 60points for 189, 55points for 190 and 50 points for 489. I will explain how the points are calculated, occupation list and application in the subsequent posts.
Many thanks to Oga Bellong and other gurus in the house for this thread.

I have B.Tech. Electrical Engineering (Electronics opt) with 6 yrs plus in Telecoms as a field/operations Engineer and my last 3 years plus as an equipment operator in oil and gas field.

I have tax clearance certs. from both companies with other supporting docs. The oil and gas experience has no part in my episode, i was told on this thread as my assessment would be based on telecoms. However, do i still require a reference letter from both companies or should i go for that of the telecoms company only?

Please i would also like to be guided on my CDR writing/JD as Telecommunications Engineer. A sample CDR from someone with a +ve outcome on Telecoms as a guide (no duplication of work) would be highly appreciated.

@Bolaobby, please i sent you a PM.

Happy Easter everyone, hope we are enjoying the holiday.
Please I need guidance to help me decide how to go about getting work reference letter from my current employer.
Because I don't intend to relocate immediately, I wouldn't like my employer to be aware of my intention so I plan on using my past promotion letters which indicate my job title and salary, in addition to job description documents of my roles and possibly a reference letter stating current role, length of service and salary for purpose of visit.

If anyone is in a similar position, how are you going about it and do you consider above will be a good alternative, also does CIC contact employer directly to confirm letters provided

My suggestions:

-Get your supervisor to write a reference letter for you on a plain paper and get it notarized. You can search for a sample on this thread. It should include his office email, phone numbers and designation. Add his complimentary card to it.

-Apply for a normal reference letter for visa application in favour of High Commission of Canada from your HR. It should contain some basic information about you like grade, annual pay, etc

-You can add your appointment, confirmation, promotion and other relevant letters. Include your job description documents, payslips, and/or your salary account statement.

-Support the above with a LOE stating that your employer does not issue the required letter and the documents that you have provided in lieu of this.

CIC may confirm but I don't think you have anything to worry about since your documents are legit.

Please, i need guidance for my sister on assessment as Agricultural Consultant with VETASSESS.
1. She had a BSc in Agricultural Economics and Extension (5yrs programme) and she works as Agric Extension Officer but less than 1 year. How many number of years experience is required by VETASSESS for positive assessment? I have search their site but haven't come up with the answer.

2. Is Tax clearance a must because i see it as part of required documents or will payslip be enough.

3. Can you share the JD you use for your assessment. I will PM you on this.

4. I will love to have any other info that you deem necessary on this.

Thanks

The person they contacted was not the person that signed my reference. My advice is for you to go through your HR department cos they will most likely contact with the most senior admin officer/HR to verify the letter. They contacted him via official email address and asked him to verify if the person that signed is authorised, how much i earn monthly and if my work is full term or part time.

Hi bro, I've been following your post for quite a while now and I must confess that it is really inspiring. Please bro, can you kindly give me a sample of what the reference letter should look like, and is the reference letter meant to be a letter headed paper(from my office "GOVERNMENT PARASTATAL" ) or an ordinary paper.

Ok. I work in a bank (IT Network and Comms). I assessed under EA and my assessment outcome was fantastic. 2 of my 3 career episode was based on work experience (inside the bank ooo).

EOI....check
ITA....check

Long story short, it doesn't matter where you work. It is what you are doing or have done (as reflected in your reference, resume and episodes, if you are an engineer).

Are you a banker?

Hello Jamson, I'm a civil/structural engineer, with over six years experience. I need you to please make out time and answer these few questions regarding EA assessment:
1. Do I need to have NSE/COREN license before applying for assessment?
2. How long did your assessment take?
3. Is IELTS required for assessment? If yes, which did you take, academic or general? I'm guessing general.
4. How much did you pay, and what's the breakdown?
5. Do you mind I have a sample of your CDR?

No offence. Thanks.

Dear Dr. Hiresomeone:
It is with great pleasure that I find myself writing this letter of recommendation for Janie Jobseeker. Janie is an outstanding employee who on a daily basis goes “above and beyond” in her administrative support to Student Government and continuously exceeds the performance standards for her position of office Manager. Laurel willingly accepts new assignments and offers to help wherever she can. Student Government is a frenetic environment that presents many competing demands on the staff there. Mrs. Kendall remains steadfast in her cheerfulness, calmness, and dependability. She is an extraordinary employee and a vital member of the team in Student Government. Laurel has demonstrated excellent managerial and decision making skills. She is attentive to tasks and works tirelessly to achieve the goals of the department. She is an extremely positive and dependable employee, and performs her duties in an extremely timely and conscientious manner.

I’ve received many compliments from the many students that she’s assisted as well as the staff members who rely on Laurel’s direction. Management and personnel in Academic Affairs, Enrollment Services, and other departments praise her work. Laurel is an innovative self-starter, who rarely needs supervision. She is punctual and typically exceeds expectations. She handles pressure well, and will voluntarily work overtime and take work home to meet a deadline.

Laurel is an invaluable asset to any department, and I highly recommend hiring her as your new Associate Director for Student Affairs. If you’d like to discuss her attributes in more detail, please don’t’ hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Emma Feelgood

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is my personal recommendation for Cathy Douglas. Until just recently, I was Cathy's immediate supervisor for several years. I found her to be consistently pleasant, tackling all assignments with dedication and a smile. Her interpersonal skills are exemplary and appreciated by everyone who works with her.

Besides being a joy to work with, Cathy is a take-charge person who is able to present creative ideas and communicate the benefits. She has successfully developed several marketing plans for our company that have resulted in increased annual revenue.

During her tenure, we saw an increase in profits that exceeded $800,000. The new revenue was a direct result of the sales and marketing plans designed and implemented by Cathy. The additional revenue that she earned helped us to reinvest in the company and expand our operations into other markets.

Though she was an asset to our marketing efforts, Cathy was also extraordinarily helpful in other areas of the company.

In addition to writing effective training modules for sales representatives, Cathy assumed a leadership role in sales meetings, inspiring and motivating other employees. She has also served as a project manager for several key projects and helped to implement our expanded operations. She has proven, on several occasions, that she can be trusted to deliver a completed project on schedule and within budget.

I highly recommend Cathy for employment. She is a team player and would make a great asset to any organization.

Sincerely,
Sharon Feeney, Marketing Manager ABC Productions

Nice one there.

You said you only sent your transcript/degree to WES directly.

I just wanted to know how long it took to get their final feedback. Plus, did you pay 234 CAD as obtainable on their site?

Good day house, been a silent reader but hope to participate from now. I just got ITA and will be sharing my timelines below.

ECA- Nov. 2016: this was very fast as I submitted scanned copies of transcript and degree certificates, paid international courier fee to have WES send verification letter to my school via courier. Had someone who assisted with the verification in less than 5 days of the school receiving it. Everything took about one month.
IELTS: Jan 7th, collected result Jan 20. LSWR: 8.5, 7.5, 8,8.
EE pool: Created two profile on 21 Jan. I claimed 3 years experience in one and two years in the other as I have only completed two years in my current place of work, however, I have one year experience from a different company.
CRS scores: 474 and 449 respectively.
ITA: received on both profile on 8 Feb 2017. However, I accepted the profile with 449 as it may be difficult getting reference from my former employer.

I've been gathering all documents, and POF is basically the outstanding item. My sister will be transferring the money to me and I will appreciate if anyone can give me a sample gift deed.

Thanks

CRS scores: 474 and 449 respectively.
ITA: received on both profile on 8 Feb 2017. However, I accepted the profile with 449 as it may be difficult getting reference from my former employer.

I've been gathering all documents, and POF is basically the outstanding item. My sister will be transferring the money to me and I will appreciate if anyone can give me a sample gift deed.

Thanks

Good day house, been a silent reader but hope to participate from now. I just got ITA and will be sharing my timelines below.

ECA- Nov. 2016: this was very fast as I submitted scanned copies of transcript and degree certificates, paid international courier fee to have WES send verification letter to my school via courier. Had someone who assisted with the verification in less than 5 days of the school receiving it. Everything took about one month.

Hi... Congrats on your ITA.

1. If you can get your Supervisor to write the letter on your behalf, that would be great. All you have to do, like my wife did, is to write the letter yourself, print it out on the letter headed paper and have him sign it. If that's too much of a problem or you don't have access to letter headed papers, have your HR dept write the letter and leave a space for your supervisor to sign. I have a sample I found online... could share with the house if necessary.

2. The mutual funds company can write a letter for you... That should suffice. Let them also explain the money can be liquidated at anytime of your choice. Dunno much about FirstBank, but your bank statement should be fine in addition to the mutual funds letter. If you can get them to also write the letter, you can add it.

Hope this helps... All the best!

Hello All,
stumbled onto this page and it has been extremely helpful. I have just gotten ITA and i had a few clarifications which I hope the house can help with:

1. For the work reference
- is it okay if it is HR department that provides the reference letter and signs it?
- or can I get one from HR plus a letter from my supervisor . The issue is that the supervisor does not have emolument details and can not use company letter-head paper.

2. For Proof of funds
- do i have to liquidate my mutual fund investment and put it in my account or can the mutual fund company write a letter for me?
- Has anyone done this with stanbic assest management and what was the process?
- Has anyone been able to get a letter from First Bank fitting CIC's requirements, and if so what was the process?

Thank you and God bless you all for the great work on this thread.

OK.
1. Do they require both transcript and statement of result? If one doesn't have a transcript, will that mean going to the school to get one?
2. By certified true copy, where or who can do this certifying of original copies. I read somewhere some people did it 100 per page. Does that work?
Basically I'd do photocopy of each document and get it stamped ?
3. My husband is the principal applicant. He has worked in the bank for over 10 years and studied Computer science. He works as a network engineer . He def won't get a reference from the bank. So third party reference.
Could you plz help with a sample of this reference letter?
Does it have to be on company letter-head?

I had plenty other questions and I can't rmbr them right now.

Thank you.

To your first question, ACS require both transcript and your certificate. The transcript is needed to know the level of computer related courses you were taught while in school in comparison to Australia standard. You have to get the transcript from your school else it will delay the assessment.

2. ACS require a certified true copy of all your documents. You have to make photocopy of your document and get it certified at High Court. As at the time i did mine in Nov 2016, the CTC was done N100 per page. It is the certified copy that you will scan and upload for the assessment.

3. If you can't get employment reference from your employer, do a statutory declaration which can be done at high court likewise. I will attach the copy posted on this forum by Bellong. That is the one used by him during his own processing.

From my own experience, i did attached my Cisco CCNP and CCIE certificate along with some Microsoft certification. I publish my cisco certification so they can access it from my cisco portal but was not able to do the same for Microsoft because i lost my login credential, i was asked to send the transcript for my Microsoft certification which i can't access. I have to tell them to assess other credential and leave out the Microsoft certification because i couldn't produce the transcript.

I hope this will help

Bros how you dey, i am trying to apply for Masters in Uni of Saskatchewen, i dont even know how to write lecturers to accept me for masters acan you help me with a sample i can use as guideline ??

The thing is that is not the only thing you are going to be writing, that is in fact the easiest.
Even after a supervisor picks you, when applying formally you will still need to upload your research intent and alao why you want to pursue graduate studies over there.
As for cajoling supervisors, there is no specific format because you have to relate to them as per their research work. But ur first 2 statements matter a lot in deciding whether a prof will continue reading ur msg or just "mark as spam"... Yeah some actually do that.

You can start ur first paragraph like.
Dear Dr. Wang (use appropriate titles, don't use Mr. cuz all faculty members have a title)
My name is Obasanjo Jonathan Buhari, a graduate of the peace-keeping department in University of sambisa, Nigeria. I graduated in September 1684 with a GPA of 4.0/5.0 ( 80%) (this is important, state ur percentage, don't give ur supervisor work to do by analyzing ur result, if he can't see wat he is looking for straight up, chances are that he would just move to the next msg, afterall he receives hundreds of msgs from prospective students). My GRE score is bla bla bla i did not take the TOEFL since Nigeria is identified as an English-speaking nation.

I intend to pursue a masters program Msc in bla bla bla department in September 2017, and after going through their supervisors list, i discovered that you were the best choice as your research work focuses mainly on "anti-terrorism studies". Ever since my undergraduate program, i have been actively interested in " anti-terrorism" , i read your article "saving the northern nigeria" and also "making sambisa a peaceful heaven" which you co-authored with Tafawa Balewa,1952 (no forget put reference oooo, its part of research, of course ur examination don start), in which you explained its possibility using "amnesty-deceit methods" to lure out the floating entities and go hardcore on the remaining valence kingpins. I have been "actively" involved with the "anti-terrorism" campaign in Nigeria (abeg no put strong lie for here, u can easily get busted, "actively" mean say u get ID card/paper/reference from a group, wey u fit upload to prove am)
I have confirmed that i have met the minimum requirements for admission into antiterrorism studies as an international student (this is important, make him know say you dey eligible to apply) and i would be highly interested in working actively under yoyr supervision. I have also attached a copy of my C.V and transcript for your review. I would appreciate if you could kindly review the attached documents and let me know if i am qualified.
Thank you very much Sir for your time.

Sorry i had to use antiterrorism as a case study, u never indicated ur course, it would have been better if u did. Also, this is a draft, it is not to be used as it is, you can modify at your own convenience and come up with something more superb.
Last tip: (do not forget to add at least one extracurricular activity, trust me, it goes a long way in "bringing" you out)
Lastest tip: don't hold back, pour out ur involvements/achievements related to ur specialty.
