in the USA where our current constitution was copied the various states are more powerful than the US president and they do deploy state troopers to any trouble area without the president saying otherwise. Even, the US president must seek the state governors permission before deploying a military force to the state and if governor reject it the president can not do anything than to wait and watch events as it unfolds.

in Nigeria, we are handing over all the military force authorities to the federal government because most states are stealing the security votes collected from the Nigerian federal government to secure their states.

it is total lack of shame and responsibilities to call on federal government to come to your state to do what you have received money to do. you are eating with double hands.

Buhari, in his administration told governors Seyi makinde to go and secure his state when he fulani were rampaging the sw and that is exactly what he did by creating Amotekun with other governors from the zone.

Why did the southwest formed Amotekun Is it not because if insecurity in their states? The Southwest didn't just sit back and be crying to the federal government.

amotekun acts as a supplement, even though the state can set up something it still wouldn't change the fact that it is primarily the responsibility of the federal govt and the president, for the fact that you are calling on the state govt just goes a long way to confirm the president's failure in addressing security issues.

you are wrong, a forfeiture does not become civil because you don't have a hand in it, or because you are innocent,in a civil case or a criminal case you can either be found guilty or not in both cases.

When we were growing up,that was the impression the elders gave us,that the Northerner,no matter the status,is a honest,not money loving,simple person.
Buhari and many northern politicians put that to bed.
The unfortunate thing is that in Nigeria we depend on our perception,belief or assumptions,we hardly like or want to rely on facts and data when it's available.
Check through the number of political office holders since 1999 and do a simple statistics of the number of politicians from North and South with allegations of corruption or being probed for corruption.
The statistics would shock people to realise as many,if not more northerners have been involved in corruption.
The simple test is this,Reno or whosoever should mention one northern politician that has not been involved in allegation of pilfering federal,state LG or MDAP funds.
The only person I am seeing is Nuhu Ribadu,ALL others including their god, Buhari have public,published allegations and/or investigation of corruption hanging on their heads!

this is exactly my take too, the idea of the north being more honest is false, even in religion, there is a huge pronspensity for hypocrisy, in politics that one is a no go area, how many northerners criticized buhari during his misrule? How many even spoke the truth about his mismanagement?

there were a lot of cases which obi tendered and contested including benue, etiki, Abuja, rivers, I think about 17 states are being disputed, even in the rivers case of rigging which has gained more popularity than others, the major reason inec may not be able to convince the tribunal of its integrity, when the rivers case came up how did inec addressed it, did they even acknowledge the flaw and irregular result? Did inec even attempt to correct it? No, with just this one case inec cannot defend its integrity.
