Business / Re: GTBank's Internet Banking Services...totally OVER-HYPED! by slimyem: 5:31pm On Sep 07, 2014 |
bigtt76: I agree with you. I use Diamond Bank mobile app and meeeen its daaaa bomb. No need for all dat token hype. Only issue is with the security. One need to secure the mobile device tight else its just your PIN and the next transfer is done.Except someone has a combination of your user id,password and pin, there's no way anyone can access your account and if anyone has all three,it can only be you who have compromised your security. 1 Like |

Dreambeat: Did you say Diamond bank?I have been trying to transfer fund using their platform for some days but have been unsuccessful.Tried calling Customercare on several occasion, they seem not to understand what I was talking about. For you to transfer fund to other bank, you have to 'maintain beneficiary'.Completing the details of the beneficiary is cumbersome. You will have to type in the sort code, address and even postal code of the beneficiary's bank. It's not really that cumbersome. You do not have to impute the sort code and address on your own. All you need do is type in the correct bank name in the box provided for it and click on "search bank archive" next to it. All what you need automatically populates. Postal code is simply 234. The process of maintaining a number as beneficiary is all to provide an extra layer of security for your transactions. Nigerians complain about the layers of security banks put in place for their own security. They are the same ones who would be quick to want to hold the banks liable for successful fraudulent attempts if those things are not in the first place. |

Family / Re: How Many Parents Are Guilty Of This? by slimyem: 5:33pm On Aug 30, 2014 |
Almost all Nigerian parents I know are guilty including mine. I had to get stubborn with my dad before he got off my back over wanting me to study epidermiology as a second degree and he still keep on selling the idea to my other siblings and cousins that happen to be science students till date. I would regard this act of parents as selfish as most of them just want their children to live dreams that they couldn't and more often than not,it draws back the children. Children that could have excelled with little of no effort in fields of their own choice end up struggling as average students in ones chosen for them... 1 Like 1 Share |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Which One Should I Go For Bank Or Hotel Job? by slimyem: 12:50pm On Aug 30, 2014 |
The way I see it,the hotel job is going to confine you while the marketing job would constantly keep you on your toes , on the street and take you in several directions. Marketing is also quite flexible. It would avail you time to pursue other interests if you can work around it. The hotel job would also keep you comfortable while the marketing job would challenge and give you reasons to look further than your position. It really depends on what you need the job to be about. I hope this helps..... 1 Like |

My old man has always moved with the times. He would not even take your directions on what to do . He figures it all out himself. His phones are high tech . He surfs the net as he wills, knows where to download music and videos of Sunny ade, Obey,Bob Marley and other maestros of his time. I introduced him to NL and he occasionally reads front page threads. Facebook and whatsapp too. He has never been one who liked to be left out 1 Like |

Religion / Re: Share Your Best Hymns by slimyem: 2:13pm On Jun 29, 2014 |
In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song; This Cornerstone, this solid Ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, Here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone! - who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe. This gift of love and righteousness, Scorned by the ones He came to save: Till on that cross as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied - For every sin on Him was laid; Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain: Then bursting forth in glorious day Up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost its grip on me, For I am His and He is mine - Bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, This is the power of Christ in me; From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand: Till He returns or calls me home, Here in the power of Christ I'll stand. 7 Likes |

mr folu:Thank you for coming back to clear issues. But really what you put out on this thread is different from what you give outside here. I asked yesterday if the new apartment had the same price and specs, you said yes. Only to know on further contact that its a 3-bedroom @ N500,000 which is above our budget at the moment and different from what you offered on dis thread. I'm not trying to give you a bad name but its pays to be as open as you can for credibility reasons. I am hoping that you be true to your words as regards getting back to us if another similar apartment with the one in your as your initial post is available. If not...then |

I know of banks that do the same with their credit cards and its understandable. In this case though, its for your own security and business for the bank. Both parties gain. |
