Reminds me of my own biological sister and her late man's daughter that's in her care now! I don't like how my sister treats the girl after she lost her dad
She beats, curse, and pinch the girl anyhow and if i complain, she gets mad at me for supporting the girl instead of her! I don't stay together with both of them but whenever i go visiting, the lil girl tells me how my sister maltreats her! My sister would tell this lil girl to fan her with paper fan while she(my sister) sleeps!!!! it happened twice in front of me when i went to visit them, the other time was when she told the girl to fan her while she picks beans,i took the fan from the girl and told my sister to stop treating her like that but she gets mad at me for telling the girl.not to do what she told her to do....I can't type everything here but my sister maltreats that girl!!!
If my sister doesn't throw pot at her, it's with slippers"torch light, cooking spoon,or very cold water and if i tell her to her face that what she's doing is wrong, she gets mad and tell my other siblings I'm disrespecting her! I don't know what to do about this issue because if i should tell my parents or siblings and they call her,the lil girl will suffer for it since nobody stays with them! I'm not happy about it...
Well in your defence also tell your other siblings (in details) what she is doing so they can understand why/how you are "disrespecting" her.

That is because we've seen instances like that –a father owning up to impregnating his child? Never heard of a daughter wrongly pinning another's pregnancy on her father.

I mean, I could never accuse a male relative of such even if they were the real devil more so my own father!
The fact that you haven't heard does not mean it doesn't happen, and the fact that you wouldn't do it does not mean others haven't done it and in fact they will do it again.

I truly doubt the possibility of a child accusing her father of such. No matter how bittered she may be towards her father. Otherwise, she downplays the plights of actual victims.
You believe the man can rape his daughter but you don't believe a daughter can lay false accusations against her father...... Its OK.

I support her. A beast like that shouldn't lay claims to the girl.
He should look for his fellow beasts and adopt as children that is of it is clear that he committed the act.
But if the girl and her mother are telling lies, that means they should be dealt with appropriately. With the wickedness going on the world, I can not absolve the man or the wife and daughter, until due investigation is carried out.
Let the truth prevail
You are calling a man you have no evidence against nor conviction a beast....... Its ok.

Advocatejustice:
I have been hearing how people are saying they lost their sense of smell since the inception of this COVID 19.

I'm practically experiencing it now.

I have been down with cold, cough, catarrh and general weakness of the body and headache for three days now.

How did I get to fully confirm my claimed?

I wanted to check a bowl if it was used for oil engine or groundnut oil in the office, I just can't get any smell to distinguished at all.

I practically put my hands inside the oil, put it into my noise and no smell of anything at all.
After these incidents in office I began to take notice by smelling things.
This was after 3 days of sickness even though without proper recovery from the sickness

Then today, when I finally discovered that smelling has left my nose was when I went to buy my perfume (Cotton Club).

The first person gave me another brand because he did not have the Cotton Club, he claimed the one he gave me is more effective but when he opened it I couldn't smell anything, I practically put it into my nose and I can't smell it at all.

I was still in doubt maybe the perfume he gave has issue so I told him I will go and check for my Cotton Club else where.

Alas! when I laid hands on my own Cotton Club and sprayed it around my neck and hands to smell, I can't smell anything too.

When I went to church this evening, I just sprayed it on my cloth knowing fully well that I can't perceived it myself at all.

Is any one else going through this?
Go check your blood sugar and blood pressure.

Personally I don't see it as a sin but this is just an advice because many are trapped in it, and it has led many astray. So this is not extreme for me if it was for you, but just doing the needful. Even God warned His priests not to take alcohol because of the position they occupied, so He wouldn't have done that if there was no need to do so.

God bless.
God bless you sir....... I always enjoy your posts though. Stay blessed!!!

The logic behind comparing eating and gluttony with “responsible” drinking is misplaced and dishonest and lacks a basis in the factual. While it is the case that drinking alcohol has the tendency to lead to alcoholism it is not so with eating and gluttony. The percentage of folks who are drunks because they started drinking alcohol far outweighs that of folks who are gluttons because they eat!
To me, it will appear rhat you are ignorant of two very important things. First is the long term effect of gluttony on those who practice it, and certain negative character traits that are common to such people. I don't think you know enough to appreciate the position you are attempting to counter.

Modified
Besides the above point, you also insinuate that one can fall for a lesser sin (gluttony) if they are free of a bigger sin (drinking/drunkenness)
Christianity Etc › Re: "Drinking Alcohol Is Not A Sin" - Omokri Quotes Bible Verse by sonofthunder: 7:02am On Jan 18, 2021
jesusjnr2020:
We might need to do that to save our souls from destruction.

Matthew 18:8-9 (KJV)

Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
Is it not easier to control one's drinking/eating than for them to rip out their guts? Cutting off is not the only remedy, it is how far we should be willing to go/sacrifice to get things right. Personally I don't drink and have never encouraged others to do so, but I feel it is one of several 'extremist' doctrines we have in the church today that need to be corrected.
Christianity Etc › Re: "Drinking Alcohol Is Not A Sin" - Omokri Quotes Bible Verse by sonofthunder: 5:04am On Jan 18, 2021
jesusjnr2020:
If drinking wine/alcohol is not a sin but drunkenness (as a result of drinking wine/alcohol) is a sin as you say, why drink wine at all?

To tempt yourself to see if it would lead you to drunkenness which you call sin?

It might not be a sin but it's obvious that it makes people to be more vulnerable to sin, not just drunkenness but fornication and the likes.

So drinking wine/alcohol is not wise. If you could avoid it, please do, because you could become addicted to it, and when that happens it would be difficult to stop.

God bless.

It's ironic you speak about my logic sounding dumb yet you go on to compare drunkenness with gluttony.

Do you have any idea of how people many people got raped, murdered, sexually abused, molested etc., because of drunkenness?

Maybe you should tell me how many of such atrocities have been perpetrated because of gluttony?

That's why drinking alcohol is not wise even though not a sin, but that's not stopping you or anyone else from drinking if you still want to. It's just an advice. Advice no be curse.

God bless.
If we keep cutting off our hands and legs to conquer sin, some of us will soon be left with no body parts.

One of the wisest decision I have seen a Nigerian governor taken. Didn't know sense still reside in some of our politicians.

Many of our roads are at the state it is today because of this "this is a federal road" syndrome. If previous governors in many states have been doing what Wike did here, Nigerian roads would have gone a long way in terms of development.

Nice one Wike.
Get your facts right, Ameachi's govt fixed the road and wike told GEJ not to refund it.

Always get your facts right.

Health › Re: Why Nigerian Dentists Always Suggest Extraction by sonofthunder: 12:12pm On Jan 10, 2021
Damian457:
Good morning, This is a counter thread to this topic:

https://www.nairaland.com/6354106/why-nigerian-dentists-always-suggest

There are basically 3 reasons why Nigerian Dentists will rather do extraction than a root canal treatment and they include;

1. Cost: The average cost of an anterior teeth root canal is 22k + 35k for crowning and 28k + 35k for posterior teeth in a GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL, Private clinics should be x2 or x3 of the quoted price. For those that don’t know the meaning of crowning it’s a procedure to reenforce the tooth structure after a root canal procedure.
So the question is how many persons can afford to part with over 57k to treat only one tooth when the minimum wage is 33k?? No Government Health Insurance for citizens, The so called NHIS is in shambles, the last time I checked some HMOs in NHIS don’t cover RCT. Payment for Dental care is out of pocket.
Sometimes when you tell patients about the whole root canal procedure they are excited till it gets to money part, some will even be like 57k for just one tooth? Please just remove it.

2. Deteriorated Condition: The first source of help for Nigerian Dental Patients anytime they feel pain is the “Chemist” , some even go to extent of getting dental formulas, powders and concoctions (Mama Agness Dental Formula) to alleviate their pain. Pain is a symptom not a pathology, when you apply those formulas and concoction, the pain may subside but the disease process will continue. Sometimes patient delay in seeking treatment and when they eventually come the tooth is already grossly compromised and are even Retained Roots.

3. Availability of Equipments: We all know healthcare is not a priority in Nigeria. Our hospitals are in shambles and in bad conditions. I will say this without any apology, the only way to get quality medical treatment in Nigeria is via private hospitals if you can afford their fees. Government hospitals are Jokes.
How many governments hospitals have OPG machines? Digital Xray machines or Even functioning dental chairs? How many Nigerians can afford to pay 90-114k per tooth in a Private Clinic to get quality dental care?

The question should be directed to the Government who have kept the citizens in perpetual poverty, with no health care insurance and has made it impossible for them to afford basic life needs.

Let me know If you think otherwise.
Thanks for this exposition but I still think our doctors can do a much better job in respect to patient's health and treatments.

Are you a doctor sir?
