I thought it was common knowledge with these hawkers that you don't come in to collect your money. I pray she comes out stronger.

Yes. She might gain a bit but not a lot like her western counterpart. Our law needs a reform but not to the extreme like the west.

I have never even seen or heard of an average Nigerian woman that benefited financially from a divorce.

Romance › Re: Don't Trust Any Woman Who Insists On Registry Wedding by Sterope(f):
The Nigerian family law will not ask the husband to share the properties with the wife if he built it with his money. It would ask only if the wife can also prove that she also contributed to the property mostly financial. It is rare for Nigerian courts to share properties and assets between husband and wife if it is owned by one of them. That is why smart women should insist to have their names on properties.

Also, unless your wife is cray cray that is she can handle herself but if she can't and you love your children (not necessarily her), you will legalise your marriage. The reason is the issue of inheritance after your death.

If you care about her too and the way go your family might treat her, you will legalise your marriage.

Elder001:
I guess this is why men are scared to file for divorce or reluctant to file for divorce because from the way it seems now the law assumes you've wasted the woman's life.

Like only women can file for divorce because if you do you'll lose much.. smh

I won't advice any man(not even my enemy) to do registry marriage .
If a lady insists on registry marriage please she can't be trusted, kindly cancel the wedding.

Now that it has happened, are you ready to care for them?

It is no news that most unwanted kids end up constituting nuisance in the society. For those who may be lucky to be rescued by the state, are you willing to pay higher tax that should go to building better infrastructure to taking care of these kids?

Call me selfish, it is on them not me. Myself and my family are not going to be responsible for the actions of some irresponsible people.

Your director may be nice but you need to think about yourself. They should get a clerical officer if they needed one. You are a graduate, you need to put your education into better use. Explain to the director before you go ahead to resign but don't give him. Uou can start wih your passion fot teaching. You can still use the NGO in your CV. It will come in handy. Best of luck!

What is needed to prove that she is innocent is that she collected the phone from someone as collateral. It is no one's business to understand how it came to be in Mr. Funbi''s possession.

If you still think you are smarter than the judge, become one!

BlueRayDick:
Her story doesn't add up.

1. A certain Fumbi owes her 40k and she forcefully took his phone as collateral. She discovered the phone has a bad screen and she repaired it with 30k which makes her account in debit of 70k. Did she skip economics class in secondary school?

2. The phone forcefully took as collateral for the refund being expected from Fumbi happens to belong to a fellow corps member whom Jojo happened to be in camp with at the same time.
Fumbi must he a spirit to have gone past the soldiers and police on camp to sneak into the other Corp member's room to steal her phone which he later used as collateral. At least I don't read anywhere in her lawyer's statement that shows the said Fumbi is a corper.

3. Then she repaired the phone which doesn't belong to her. To do what exactly? To see Fumbi's picture on it or what? Why repair the phone if you are not willing to sell it.

4. Come again. She repaired iPhone 6 screen for 30k? Are the repairers heaven trained? The last time time I repaired an iPhone 6 screen even at the height of exchange rate fluctuations it was 10k altogether with repairs fees.

5. Finally, if her lawyers are so sure all these facts are real as stated I believe they have a case against the police, the owner of the phone and Fumbi himself. Why are they not suing any of them? Why threatening bloggers who reported it with law suit?

Is it right for GT bank to have overcharged innoson? You think Innoson should have acted like every Nigerian that takes BS because there is nothing they can do about it?

BetaThings:
So it was wrong for GT Bank to have lent money to Innoson?
And what is your objective in advising people to abandon GT Bank - for lending money to Innoson and trying to recover it?

They have done a couple of questionable things. I simplu do not trust them. Going by the facts of this case, gtank is at fault.

eyinjuege:
On the contrary, I trust GTB better than other banks. I have done business with them, and I absolutely trust them with my money.
You must pay your loan sha o. They don't joke with that at all. Neither does Zenith.
Their services GTB, are better than a host of other banks.
The only problem is many people are cheats, don't like paying back. Even in everyday life, if you loan them money, only few feel its a responsibility to pay back.

Has she been to the hospital? She should go to one if she hasn't.

She can also visit Mirabel centre for emotional support.

I wish her the best.

chinachukwu:
My girlfriend narrated to me that while she was coming back from work, One man claiming to be a foreigner stop her and told her to help her that he's stranded, while she was conversing with the foreigner a bike man came and suggested that they should help the foreigner.

My girlfriend agreed and followed them to one private place, the fraudster took away her phone, the bike man raped her and told her to go home and get any money&ATM that's in their house.

Unfortunately while she was at home searching for money and atm she couldn't see any, on the process she came downstairs to call the fraudster to tell them that she didn't see any money then i saw her and noticed that something was wrong, immediately i started persuading her to tell me the problem, she refused saying that she took an oath not to tell anyone.

I kept on persuading her until she told me that two people took her and also one of them raped her.

Please my fellow nairalands, what do i do?
I need your advise.

They claimed she is with the phone. There is nothing in the video to prove that she is with the phone. I see a video of a lady in NYSC uniform rambling about she couldn't have taken the phone.

I havelearnt that it is better to wait for the full story. People can be mischievous. I am glad policemen are handling it.

MrBrownJay1:
the video is irrelevant, she was found with a STOLEN phone, while trying to pick up the ransom for that same STOLEN phone. how much more proof do you need that this babe is involved in whatever is going on here?!

here are simple questions for you:
- how did she get the stolen phone?! at best this is a crime of handling stolen good, isnt it?!
- why would she ask for 50K for the owner to get his phone back? at best this is extortion, isnt it?
