Many of u Dedicated DONKEYS hv allowed yr HATRED to mk u guys reason like toddlers. This is NORMAL diplomatic talk; that is what was expected of Nigeria and her President- send yr condolences and offer sm assistence, whether you mean it or not. That is exactly what other countries, including those ones currently struggling with terroism themselves did; that is what other countries do when ever such an event happen in Nigeria... Only small minds who hv allowed HATRED to consume their souls wud read other meanings to dis statement

take dat: Why is Abati jogging down a beaten path? Rehashing worn out lies and playing a semantic game of rhetorical obfuscation.
SR has its own failings, but never trust an 'ornamented turncoat'(Abati).

In 2012 when the President traveled to Ethiopia for AU summit, Sahara Reporters laid an allegation of waste and profligate junket against the Presidency and in Abati's rejoinder he claimed the President only traveled with 'one delegation entourage', and also promised to send the list of the delegates who traveled with the President once he got to his hotel room, till date Abati has not been able to release the list.

http://mobile.saharareporters.com/press-release/culture-waste-and-insensitivity-and-18th-au-summit-saharareporters-responds-reuben-a

The same excuse he offered during the Adis Ababa Episode was that some Nigerians had traveled to Ethiopia 'unofficially', and in continuation with the Series of lies, he claims many Nigerians who are not part of the President's entourage are 'currently on visits' to New York. I guess that also includes the 547 civil servantshuh
Oh! So you too believe that 547 Civil Servants accompanied GEJ to New York for d UN General Assembly?? Omatshe o grin.... By d way, it is not d person who is accussed that shld provide proof of d Accusation; he who accuses shld provide d proof. The proof wud be pretty easy; I mean we are talking about d movement of 600 people in a week, esp since 547 of them are said to be Civil Servants

agbameta: It's like asking me if I believe Jonathan is daft or not, it's like asking me if Jonathan is dumb and clueless or not, it's like asking me if Jonathan is corrupt or not, it's like asking me if Joandaft is incompetent or not when in fact it's obvious to the rest of the world tha t he is all the above...

Same way SR's reporting was questioned the last time and as expected, SR was right so why shouldn't I believe them? What sane and rational behavior of Jonathan should make me believe him?

The man is dumb, clueless and out of touch.
No need for shouting, Bros. Nobody is disagreeing with you here. GEJ took 6000, not even 600 as reported, delegates to UN General Assembly in New York. We believe you. Even though the 547 Civil Servants that SR just said accompanied him are more than d entire No of people in d Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we still believe you people. They must hv collected more Civil Servants from other Ministeries, like d Ministry of Education whose staff are lazying about doing nothing cos of d ASUU strike, in order to make up d 547 persons. They chartered d Entire Aircrafts in Nigeria and many more Big ones from d US in order to take these huge No of Delegates to New York. I saw them myself. I also saw them while they all landed in New York. You know, since there is no way 600 persons can possibly get Accomodation in New York on d week of d UN General Assembly, half of them are scattered in other nearby cities, esp in California, from where they wud be brought to New York daily by those same Planes that was chartered (by d way did I mention that all those Planes that brought them to New York was actuali chartered for d entire week), whilst about 100 of them are currently squatting at d Basement of Nigeria's Embassy House in New York. I am looking at them with my own eyes as am tying this now. I should not forget to add that since these huge Nos of persons cannot fit into d UN General Assembly Hall during Pleniary, arrangements hv been made to provide HUGE Canopies for them just outside d Hall so that they can be hailing GEJ as he gives his Address tomorrow. An impaccable Source (who I cant name cos he doesn't want his name in Print) confirm this arrangement; he also said that d Contract for the Canopies was given to d lovely wife of d President, Dame Patiene Jonathan, herself.... I can go on and on; but suffice it to say that on this one we completely believe You and SR. So please lets not fight over this, abeg. Thnks

Politics › Gov Aregbesola Commends FG For Completing Ilesha Dam After 50 Years, Ask For Mor by taharqa(op): 6:24am On Sep 21, 2013
OSUN State governor, Rauf Aregbesola has solicited the support of the Federal Government in the completion of abandoned water project in the state, to boost potable water supply to the people.

The Governor, who made the appeal yesterday in Abuja, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Water Resources, specifically cited the Ife Dam project, currently yearning for completion.

He commended the Federal Government for releasing funds towards the completion of Ilesha dam, which has now relieved the people that had being without potable water in the past 50 years.

“I am quite impressed with what you people have done in Osun State and I find it necessary to come here to express my profound gratitude to the Federal Government especially in the construction of Ilesha water project”, he emphasised
.

The Governor admitted that the state does not have adequate fund to complete some of the abandoned projects and therefore called for further support in constructing treatment plants, while the state government would reticulate and distribute the water to the people.

The Governor said that the state needs irrigation for all season farming and pleaded for more Federal Government’s support in this regard.

Responding, the Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe, said that the ongoing projects of the Ministry in Osun State and other states of the federation are as a result of President Jonathan’s commitment to complete all abandoned projects across the country that could be of benefit to the people.

Ochekpe further reiterated Federal Government’s desire for stronger partnership with state government for service to be delivered to the people of Nigeria.

According to her, the responsibility of the ministry is to provide fresh bulk water while the provision of treatment plants and water reticulation is vested on the state.

She added that President Jonathan is committed to the agricultural transformation of the country through irrigation and water supply projects for food security.

“ Since it is obvious that rain fed agriculture alone cannot guarantee food security to the nation, a lot is being done to support irrigation projects all over the country and Osun State will not be left out”, he added.

There were a lot of impunity in d way funds were moved around across various sub-heads in d budgetary process in this country for d longest time, or even increasing Deficits by borrowing from d Bond market. With my experience in that industry, you don't need any equipment

Flow stations give measurements of liquids that come into them and what leaves

It's easy to detect where a leakage or theft is

Stealing crude isn't as easy as stealing a car or even a plane.

Now my question is, what happens to the billions the militants get to stop vandalization of pipelines because you can't steal crude or refined petroleum without vandalizing a pipeline
lol... Did you say say you hv 'Experience' in d industry, yet from no equipments are needed to police d many infrastruction and waterways??.... Hehehehehehehe. I gbadu yr 'Experience' die, Bros

Again I ask: If the FG knows that it has to repeal acts of parliament in order to scrap these redundant agencies, have they forwarded the relevant bills to the National Assembly? Isn't that what a responsible government would do, rather than fold its arms and give up?

Answer the question.
From what I understand d FG hv not yet concluded on ALL Recommendations of d committee, and so those bills wud very likely not hv bn passed to d NA.... But see d point I was making was that since sm of those MDAs hv not bn scrapped/merged by repealing/amending d Relevant laws that set them up, Govt is Legally bound to continue to fund them, Certainly for d next 2014 fiscal year. And lets face it, even if the necessary laws were sent to d NA today, there is no way d present NA wud pass perhaps up to a head a hundred laws to effect d necessary legal changes b4 2015. I don't see how that is possible. The present NA are still struggling with d PIB bill more than a year afta it was sent to them; regardless of how critical d bill is to dis country. Got it??

HNosegbe: Nigeria is too big to be policed from Abuja.

This extra 1% is at best a marginal increase - I don't see how this will improve policing at the local level.

We need state (and local) policing. Let the constituent parts of Nigeria assume primary responsibility for security of lives and property.

The federal police can retain limited responsibilities regarding human rights abuse and cross-border crime.

Anything other than this is merely cosmetic.
1% of d entire FEDERATION ACCOUNT dedicated to d Police is NOT a 'Marginal increase'. Can't understand how you wud even think that. 1% is hundreds of billions of naira additional funding for d police....

HNosegbe: What "short run" are you talking about?

How long does it take to repeal an act of parliament?

Has the Federal Government even forwarded the relevant bills to the National Assembly to repeal those redundant agencies in the first place?

And what about the retinue of aides and special assistants and advisers and special advisers and senior special assistants and advisers? Are those ones set up by law as well?

Does the president need to repeal any act of parliament before selling off his presidential fleet of jets, which have become a drainpipe on this country's resources?

Stop defending the indefensible please.
