The tradition cannot be instruction/practices that contradic the written instructions.
Your traditions makes rubbish what the written instructs of the apostles says.
The books of the NT are direct apostolic writings and no other persons instructions that comes closed to theirs in authority.
Dont be deceived, the bible warns against men that will come in later days and give instructions that will opposed what the apostles of christ had said. actually u failed to notice that it is ur traditions and doctrine that came in the later day. And d tradition handed from d apostles to d church arent against scripture but how will u see that wen u twist scriptures to fit ur imagination. |

chukwudi44: Hahahaha how do you know the books to be read as scripture? It was simple because this synod told you so.The entire gospels and some other gospels were anonymous .Their canonicity and authours were only sourced through sacred tradition.
Why don't you quote other books like enoch, jubiless e.t.c that were not canonised by these church councils it is a pity protestants are ignorant of how the bible came about. They need a little history class. |

Logicboy03: I like how you avoided the fact that slavery was in the bible- boh in the new and old testaments
Here is your pope Gregory with his enforcement of slavery
Slavery incorporated into canon law In the early thirteenth century, official support for slavery and the slave trade was incorporated into Canon Law (Corpus Iuris Canonici), by Pope Gregory IX,.[62][63] Canon law provided for four just titles for holding slaves: slaves captured in war, persons condemned to slavery for a crime; persons selling themselves into slavery, including a father selling his child; children of a mother who is a slave. Slavery was imposed as an ecclesiastical penalty by General Councils and local Church councils and Popes, 1179-1535... (a) The crime of assisting the Saracens 1179-1450..... (b) The crime of selling Christian slaves to the Saracens 1425. Pope Martin V issued two constitutions. Traffic in Christian slaves was not forbidden, but only their sale to non Christian masters. (c) The crime of brigandage in the Pyrenees mountainous districts, 1179. (d)Unjust aggression or other crimes, 1309-1535. The penalty of capture and enslavement for Christian families or cities or states was enacted several times by Popes. Those sentenced included Venetians in 1309.[64] Pope Gregory XI, excommunicated the Florentines and ordered them to be enslaved if captured[65] Little seems to have happened before the order was removed ur list didnt include chattel slavery. So i can safely conclude the catholic church didnt support chattel slavery. |

mollie12: No, its not Jesus, its a piece of bread.
Jesus is presently sitting down at the right hand of God the Father in heaven, and not in a communion plate.
The Holy Communion is to be done in REMEMBRANCE of Christ, and not as a continuous reenactment with cannibalistic undertones. There is no point in adding 'jara' to the exercise, it IS what it is already. Abi bros, doesn't it sound weird at all to you to be eating and drinking Jesus' flesh and blood every day?
The Lord was referring to a figurative meaning when He used those phrases: that's why the disciples didn't actually need to eat his flesh and drink his blood even when he died on the cross. so Jesus took a bread and told every body "this is my body" and u claim that is figurative? |

Can you pick Jesus on the floor in any which ever form?
This is one the ways catholics ridicule Christianity. Answer me. do you even read ur bible? Luke 22:19 say "and he took the bread and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them saying 'this is my body'" if Jesus say that which look like bread is his body then he has said it and i belive. Ihedinobi: Do you really? "What I tell you in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear." That's Jesus in Matthew 10:27. Your spirit may not be right, friend, and I'm not saying so for any reason other than mildly caution you. You engage in discussions like this to unveil Christ and you are to do so whether your message is accepted or not. Until it has been rejected, you must give it. When it has been, you may take it elsewhere.
I advise that you quit your worries of being made a fool or being rejected. Again, Mr Anony did right. He just didn't know it. I think that my twin is very wary of impropriety and stumbles, that's probably why he accepts rebuke readily especially about actions he's not very clear about. In the instance here, his reaction was perfect.
As for you, my friend, I exhort you to abandon debating for its own sake.
Edited. i doubt u will get my view even if i put them in simplier words, ofcourse we must preach in and out of season, we must emphasize the word again and again. But none of us is the holyspirit, one who delibrately closed is mind won't see the truth even if it is staring him in the face. At dat moment d preacher is wasting his time, prayer will help more than more words. Besides am not afraid of been rejected as u seem to think, neither am i afraid of been made a fool. And lastly i dont debate just for the sake of debating. |

Logicboy03: I read your link. It still doesnt change the slavery in the bible and what Pope gregory IX did by putting slavery in the canon.
Leviticus 25:44 "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves.
Titus 2:9 "Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them"
1 Peter 2:18 "Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh."
Col 3:22 "Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord."
1 Cor 7:21-22 "21 Were you a slave when you were called? Don't let it trouble you—although if you can gain your freedom, do so. 22 For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord's freedman; similarly, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ's slave."
Eph 6:5 "Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. pls provide the papal bull where pope greg added slavery to canon law and tell me what types of slavery it allowed. D new testament passages u quoted simply teaches a slave how to live a christian life even in slavery. I can really find a positive support 4 slavery in d new testament. |

HumbledbYGrace: Last saturday a fellow christian brother made a very nasty example about ladies wearing pands to church, its total prohibited to wear pants to my church but since I don't wanna start trouble I can't question the laws of the church but is it really agaisnt the will of God for a lady to wear pants @ all?
Bible reference;Deotronomy 22vs5 5 A woman shall not wear men's clothing, neither shall a man put on women's clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh your God. And 1st Timothy 2vs9-10 9 In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety; not just with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing;10 but (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.
Does this scriptures clearly states pants and slacks or something else? Ur input will be appreciated and no insults pls i donot wish to give a hard and fast rule in this matter. But deut u quoted is a portion of d mosaic law that is was eroded away by d new testament. But again i dont consider pants to be decent. D gaze of a man is more or less concentrated in specific places and for those with good imagination a tight cloth equal unclothedness. I would advise against that which delibrately over highlight those point in a womans anatomy that may prove problematic for men. Each accding to prudence. |

Ihedinobi: I get you, bro. I also don't care to engage frosbel and his crew. However, this is not about winning/losing. It's totally about Truth. It matters nothing how many embrace Him, what matters is that He is unveiled.
And when He can be unveiled by reflecting a person's foolishness, we who carry Him should do so. again i get ur point. To unveil a reality is useless unless there are people who arent blind who are capable of seeing and appreciating d reality. If u are unveiling a reality to one with closed minds it is like pouring water in the dark. |
