Westerhoffe: Stop underestimating Nigerians. Not all Nigerians are stupid.
Whatever many Nigerians post on Nairaland does not reflect their true identity and personality… please.
No, this website, Nairaland, promotes a lot of idiot behaviour and answers. Quora has moderators that do their work. Reddit, that one is just American Nairaland, with American idiot behaviours and answers.
bigiyaro: Which doctor declared them dead at the scene? Some of these victims may be unconscious or in a coma....
I've heard from a doctor sad stories about how they bring accident victim to hospital. Nobody has money for injection or gloves or one small thing. The doctor will be looking at the people as they are dying.
kris: What una need to do is to unite. When united, you defeat all. Nigeria would be very strong, if they were united. But lack of unity, na him make country be as e be. No be white man do una, na una do unaself.
Well some basic rules must be agreed to before unity will work. 1. We are all of different tribes. So nobody should speak his tribe language when we unit. We must all speak English. 2. No tribe mus feel that he is the one superior to other tribes. 3. Anywhere a person is born, that is the person's state of origin. 4. Any tribe can buy land, live and marry in any part of the country.
coputa: the parts are not made locally, Innosson is like an assembly plant
I think some parts are made locally. By that I mean, there is a hydraulic press/mold that forms all the plastic parts inside the car body. But as for the car body panels that still comes from China and is welded and bolted together here.
ncoolsome: So because I bought a cloth material from China, make a design and do the saw here in Nigeria, you now term it chinese cloth?? Do you know rocket engines are supplied to the use by russia ??
You bought a cloth DID A DESIGN and sewed the cloth here in Nigeria.... It is definitely a Nigerian cloth. Innosson does not DO A CAR DESIGN here in Nigeria. The car has already been designed in China. They just fix the parts together here in Nigeria. Here is a video of CAR DESIGN being done. If you know anybody or anywhere in Nigeria that does this, please give me a call. Let me apply for a job there.
planetx: So they made N23 billion in one year from gullible Nigerians.
This our Naira that doesn't have value. You will package N1200 (one thousand, two hundred naira) before white man will give you only $1 (one dollar). And we think that is normal? Why not, I give you ONE naira, you give me ONE dollar in exchange? Why must my own be so worthless? Untop of all that, they will gather N23 billion Naira from Nigerians and REJECT their visa again. So you go and sell the whole regions of Nigeria, gather another money and give them... then they reject that visa again. Wetin remain to sell give white man for visa fees?
Earlystar698: What about those that can't explain their source of poverty
There's no such person. Anybody poor is due to A) . Lack of jobs in your country due to global economy. B) . You are just stupid. So I think option A is the correct answer.
We4all: Every product has a life span and a market for it. Shoes; no matter how expensive don't even have a long life span. And unless you don't have a need to wear shoes often, you must make a yearly or regular purchase. So, your analogy doesn't hold water.
A manufacter should have a product for different markets as not every Nigerian are obsessed with inferior goods. China, US and other European countries produce for different markets. Why should 'Aba made' be different?
Because we're black and nobody respects us. When they make shoes in China or malasia or they package and put in boxes. We here, PRESS AND FORCE everything inside nylon. Zero presentation/packaging.
Seriously, Western nations are the ones who created industries and industrial standards. There is ISO9000 (9001) standard that basically implies that products must be 100% identical and follow 100% identical manufacturing processes. Western nations follow these standards rigorously to produce everything. That's why you can call up Nokia or HP or Toyota customer service and they will either help you repair or send you a maintenance manual of the product you have and EVERY single screw they show in the manual will appear exactly like that in the real product in your hand. But our great country Nigeria is very good at faking documents and certificates. Companies without certifications will forge it and say they have. Even president without document will forge it and say he has. We aren't known for telling the truth or keeping to standards. Today we do like this, tomorrow we do like that.
We4all: Most Nigerians are also willing to pay extra if it's durable. They can produce for different classes of Nigerians who will pay according to what they can afford.
You are a manufacturer. You produce 2 shoes. Shoe A and Shoe B. Shoe A cost N10,000 and lasts for 50 years. Shoe B cost N1,000 and last for 3 months. Every 3 months your customer will bring another N1,000 to buy fake shoe B. The guy that bought original shoe A, you won't see him again till 2073. Which shoe will you be producing in your factory? Original A or Fake B?
Stargangz: Aba made wey no dey last reach 3 months, Igbo people and fake products.
Well, Chinese also make fske products. The more it spoils, the more you will buy a new one so that they can keep producing and keeping their factories alive. 1. How many phone chargers have you bought? 2. How many USB cables have you bought 3. How many earphone wired/wireless have you bought? Yes, they made it fake so it will spoil quick and you will buy another one.
We can be saying "colo-mentality" as a joke or to disparage them. Future generations will ask this same question about you. Why are you abc? And we will answer, "corruption mentality" .
kokomilala: Being Catholic In A Multicultural World, With Imbalances In One's Own Culture
I've tried to offer my own humble answer in my title. You're narrowing your choices where u have nonsense of options: whites, blacks, hispanics, Aussies, Indians etc, etc..
Since women from ur kin don't want to date u, possibly because they've been culturally wired to see relationships as material transactions, then you should be open-minded to women of other races and cultures.
These women, who may happen to be much better socially and financially, would oblige u, I'm certain, in a heartbeat.
We have a dysfunctional culture, sadly. It's the culture of gender consumption, where everything is seen through the prism of how-do-I-maximize this relationship materially? from the mundane boyfriend-girlfriend relationship to marriage.
These days, when I see women in their. 40s still single, I no longer have empathy for them. Most of them, it seems, have traded their choices.
People who ran overseas should marry overseas people. Simple. If you want to marry a Nigerian, there are millions of Nigerians here in Nigeria. Marry one and carry overseas instead of complaining. You cannot be outside Nigeria and still be expecting 100% Nigerian previlages again. - That's how some will insist on eating eba and soup overseas. Nigeria food becomes an expensive delicacy once you leave the shores of Nigeria. Eat the food of the country you find yourself and marry the women of the country there as well.
Smile4mee01: I have been abroad for a while now and i am curious to know why some of our ladies decline dating or marrying fellow Nigerians in the diaspora. I have tried to date a few any they are often quick to assume i am after them for their papers while i just prefer my own, someone who understands my culture and where i have come from. Even when i try to date the ones that don't have paper, regular work visa holders like me. They seem to want to be with the guys that have papers.
Also, when i am old, i would like to return to Nigeria. Marrying outside would make that transition very difficult.
I study other races, Immigrant groups from India and Asia. they work together well, and don't have these difficulty.
Should i give up on being with a Nigerian or keep trying ?
Regards.
You people travelled overseas because you don't like Nigeria and Nigeria problems. Marry overseas people. - The time you were here in Nigeria, you didn't marry Nigerians here with you. Now you went overseas and suddenly, it is those Nigerians that you are interested in? Your intentions are not genuine and you all know it. Hence you Nigerians overseas will just continue repelling each other.
Tingotoe: It's obvious you're question is directed at the millennial and genz generations. Our parents all got married in their twenties and 50 years later, they're still good with grown up kids and waxing strong
Well, Economy! Back then, it was easy to get a job and one person's salary (Dad), was totally enough for the whole house, rent, new car, school fees... everything. Today, husband and wife will be doing 24hrs shift work to see food money.
A couple of days back, my wife put to bed using CS. Initially we had a baby before, I a know how complicated and painful the pregnancy and childbirth was.
Now I was in the theatre during the CS and I saw first hand how someone's abdomen was sliced open and the baby pulled out. I also saw how doctors were putting their hands into someone's abdomen and how they finally stitched her up. It wasn't an easy sight to behold. Right now, she's recovering, but the pain she's passing through is much.
To me, this is the highest form of sacrifice that someone can give for the family.
So to the men and husband out there..... before you ask your wife to be "what she is bringing to table", kindly think about the sacrifice they make in bringing your children to the world.
Angelfrost: Depends on the kinds of people and the foreign nations in question.
Nations like Australia and Canada are not where moronic nitwits and lowlifes easily get into.
Most Nigerians just have selfish mindsets... We just like to shine alone even in galaxies that can accommodate Billions.
Unfortunately for them, they have no direct control or influence on Immigration processes. So, they are left with playing mind games by churning out unsolicited and false narratives on social media and YouTube.
Nigeria as a country has over 500 tribes (major and minor). Only the British that colonised us, know how to rule everybody equally. We, ourselves are unable to do this justly. We are not taught how to work together to maintain trust and build the nation. When last did you see a person of the North buying land in the East and living there? When last did you see someone BORN in a state, and call THAT state, his state of Origin? Who buys land in the Eastern part of Nigeria? Why can't anyone go to farm in peace? Why does the north obey a different judicial system from the south, encouraging underage brides? Why are some people NEVER prosecuted for even the worst crimes ever committed? These things didn't happen when the British colonised Nigeria. Yeah, life may have been miserable under British rule, but it was equally miserable to everybody without exception. NYSC was setup to force Nigerians to mixup around the Nation. Federal Government Colleges were also setup for this same reason. Mixup round the nation, live there, work and marry. But are people agreeing to do the NYSC again? Everyone has turned tribal and fighting each other now. It is this rubbish that Nigerians run overseas away from. So they're not really ready to meet up with other Nigerians who contributed to all these problems.
qtguru: She's not lying Canada is expensive, I have their visiting visa but if you look at cost of apartments and food, but what I'm not sure is if it's just Ontairo that's expensive or other provinces, there are some affordable countries in the EU like Malta and Portugal.
I chose to be in Malta, rent for a nice apartment in Malta is 500-700 euros with everything furnished, Canada for 1500k it's comes with nothing. Na you go buy am, unless you go goodwill with no shame
I don't think it's a good idea to just calculate based on the value of the money. Calculation should be done based on minimum wage in each different country. That will give you a true idea of which country is cheap and which is expensive.
Angelfrost: You and whom are stuck with Nairaland?!!
Do you understand the meaning of "Largely"?!!
Dude, most nations discourage their citizens from leaving, especially when they are unprepared, but Africans take the cake... We literally look for every possible avenue to push people back from joining us abroad.
Some are actually obsessed with limiting their fellow citizens or blocking them from migrating...!
They migrated overseas SPECIFICALLY to get away from people back home. So why on earth do you think they will ever want those same people back home to come abroad and meet them again?
SaintUlot: With the rate at which Nigerians are leaving Nigeria, you will think with N50k you can japa from that country. Every Tom, Dick and Harry have left, the remaining ones are just waiting to buy their flight ticket.
I doubt if we still have up to 1 million people left in Nigeria at this time. So where is that multidimensional poverty statistics coming from? If almost everybody can afford the cost of Japa that doesn't come cheap. This makes me to come to the conclusion that, Nigerians might not have money in their bank account, but majority have tangible assets that can be easily converted to cash if the need arises.
Well, unlike foreign people, Nigerians are tribal people. And what that means is that we have villages, and family village house. Everyone is ashamed if he can't point out his family village house in this Nigeria. Some of these Japa people, sell off that house and that land to say a final goodbye to Nigeria. Use that money and japa.
onadana: Education is not an end ...but a means to an end ....the height this guy has reached a lot of graduates can only wish or dream of.Education is over rated.
He's just a practical individual. Most Nigerian Educated people are stuck being theoretical. Theory without practice is nonsense.
