Keen and excited? Which kind Keen and excited? Stop praising your stupid head. People are desperately hungry and unemployed and are simply looking for any employment to fend for their needs.
Yes it doesn't look bad now. It looks good now. -- But it will rust and break apart within 6 months. At least western nations have public waste bins that can withstand the weather. We should learn from them.
Samsunny99: If this country normal, how person go even do first degree finish come dey think of doing fashion designer, barbing, selling food provision etc Not to talk of PhD Year in year out universities are turning out graduates Omo eni to mo way Lomo we
Unfortunately the graduates are dreaming in the clouds. They have NO IDEA of the Job market before rushing to University and studying one useless course. Later, they come out and start crying up and down, that they can't find job. Someone who is well aware would be working in such kind of place BEFORE even going to university. Work as cleaner, labour... whatever, so far you are INSIDE that particular company first. And If you can't find that place BEFORE university, it simply means the place DOES NOT EXIST. And don't waste your time doing a degree for that kind of place.
Since jobs aren't available why still continue to pay lecturers who train rubbish
If a company is not making sales it closes down
FG should reduce the number of university sack the lectures
Government just wants data. Some numbers they can post to foreign countries. We have 100 universities in Nigeria, and lecturers teaching.... You know, the higher the number, the better. So don't expect Government to close down any Uni or send Lecturers away. It is you that will use your sense to select a good course of study that will be viable after you graduate. Lecturer is already receiving his salary for whatever rubbish his lecturing. So he don't care about your future. YOU are the one hoping to recieve yours through a good job after you graduate.
SmartPolician: That's not true. The reason is that Nigerian university system is too cheap to bequeath students with the skills they need to succeed. The biggest casualties are STEM graduates. If Nigeria wants to improve her education system, the government must be willing to spend a lot of money on the system.
Make a portfolio for your STEM degree. Not just carring certificate up and down.
Annahh: That's why you should work with an organization that has a good pension plan, my dad will retire in few years to come and his pension is enough to set him up when he retires, the money is in millions.
My dad will... You nko? Abi your plan is drain from him?
HugeElephant: Good morning. Have you ever asked yourself the question, "why do we work"? Some will say they work in order to avoid hunger. Some will say they work in order not to just stay idle at home. Some will say they work in order to fit into the society. There are several other reasons why we work.
Until you start to ask questions about your building towards the future, then you are on the right path. Have you ever asked yourself, "When a man is too old to work," what is my plan towards that phase?
You can't work forever, so now that you are still much younger, I hope you are working towards that stage and not just working to eat and survive the present moment or economy?
That job you are currently engaged in, is it a temporary or permanent solution? You should be able to identify a permanent solution or a temporarily solution and not confuse them.
I am trying to find a permanent solution and sacrificing my convinience at this stage. I hope I find it soon: a permanent solution to my human needs and questions. Because when I am too old to work, I hope I have something better than a pension.
We work because God said we should work. It's stated very clearly in Genesis, man should work to till the soil. Prior to Adam and Eve's sin, they didn't have to work. After the sin, ALL MEN, Even Jesus Christ, His only begotten son, have to work as the natural order of things. Anybody that thinks he can live a life without working is deceiving himself. You're trying to turn nature upside down. And only God can do that, not man. Get used to working. Big work, small work, any work.
BurntDodo: Why you do Bill Gates like that 😂😂 Sometimes it's not even about how you dress, just by being in a bolt ride even with your boring polo and chinos will warrant a phone search or worse.
Quick story. A couple of years ago, it was my friend's birthday, and so 3 of us, in our early 20s decided to contribute money to take a bolt ride and get pizza and a drink. You know, have a nice time instead of jumping from molue to molue.
Halfway to the pizza place, policemen stopped our bolt, interrogated the bolt guy and immediately they saw the situation, no questions asked, they instructed all 3 of us to get down and told the bolt to leave. Our confused selves protested but to no avail. The policemen were huge and they made caveman-like sounds as they got physical and dragged us into their black maria.
They locked the doors and accused us of being cultists. I believe they wanted us to get scared and just immediately ask how we can pay our way out. We pleaded that we weren't cultists, we even showed school ID. Again, futile. They proceeded to driving us to their police station. This was the first time in my life I was the one begging policemen to check my phone to clear the air because I'll be honest, I'd never walked through the gates of a police station before, it isn't quite the holiday spot. I was bewildered by the irony that THE POLICE WERE UNINTERESTED IN CHECKING OUR PHONES! Declining their favourite hobby! I knew then and there that we were in big trouble.
Upon arrival at the station, again, with cavemen-like sounds by the policemen, we were dragged into the station. The station looked like a shanty town and I think I heard cries somewhere in the walls. Now, I was fully on fight or flight mode, as my reality was very surreal. The policemen ushered us into a small office and we met at least 50 boys seated on the floor in front of one heavy inspector. Heavy Inspector : Who are these fresh meat? Cavemen Police : Cultists, sir Heavy Inspector looks at our faces and hisses. Heavy Inspector : Do these ones look like cultists to you? Let them go!
And that was how we escaped what could have been an everlasting traumatic experience but we got off with just one or two days of nightmares. Lucky us.
What a nightmare. Nigeria police operate on stereotypes. "Look like"... 4 guys in a car, no girl... Looks like.... Unfortunately, they're always meeting with students.
If you have enough data, watch this debate between people, students and Nigeria Police and hear the idiotic reasoning that Nigeria Police reason with. Just steer clear of their traps.
BurntDodo: You : Am I under investigation? NPF : Yes, you're a cultist You : I am not a cultist NPF : Then you're following us to the station Drags you into their pick up van and drives you to unfamiliar roads. You start to panic and perhaps you break. You : Where are you taking me to? NPF : (silence) You : What type of harassment is this, unlawful detainment. Oyah I've unlocked my phone.
Hmm. A sad one. But what I've done so far in my life is to dress like Bill Gates. One Polo shirt and brown Chinos trousers. This type of boring fashion is SO BORING that nobody will bother you with anything. Talk less of suspecting you as a cultist. This is the only cloth I can vouch that doesn't cause trouble for police in this Nigeria.
Solofresh2: That lady was probably set up or she is a novice in the game. Such a beautiful woman with a good profile
I hope that if she was ugly with one eye and half nose, you will still praise her Because I don't know why you are mentioning beauty as if it's beauty they used to use to get job. Abi, to hell with ugly people?
Justbeingreal: Are you justifying her action or what..
You know it is very wrong to disturb your neighbours. In foreign countries, it is not done. I was in UK and managed to pass by a mosque, escorting a friend. Can you believe that I didn't even hear Alah Wakba? 100s of muslims were just quietly bowing and praying because UK govt has warned them for disturbance. Even church will sing and pray INSIDE the church. You won't hear any noise outside. Talkless of putting loudspeaker outside to disturb anybody.
AH, But here in Nigeria, they will be shouting and disturbing everybody? It's a pity the lady lost her temper, but the disturbing guy deserves to be taught a lesson. Lagos government has locked up nightclubs because of disturbance. When will people learn to stop disturbing others?
Nomerci: She stabbed him.she didn't run back inside the room .or ran away and went incommunicado, rather she stabbed him and walked back into the same room casually.like nothing happened. Cold-blooded animal
The idiot that was disturbing his neighbours nko? Is he not a cold blooded animal? You have no right to disturb anybody ANYWHERE with your noise.
Harmony92: Imagine stabbing your neighbor because of noise what about me that is sharing fence with the Lord's chosen church I don't sleep on Fridays because of night vigils Na wa oo
You are the one tolerating it. How many times has Lagos government closed down churches, mosques and night clubs because of noise? You feel you can't do anything. So you don't report. Hence you continue suffering the noise.
Today in our office, Nepa gave steady light from 6am . And our inverter was bad. So we were using direct light. My heart was cutting... My head was expanding... 7, 8, 9, 10:00 I was sweating and fearing. 11, 12, 1pm, 2..3...4... I wanted to collapse.. Finally at 4:30 pm they took light and I could finally relax. Then we changed over to generator. Ah. I don't know if this is normal behaviour. Anybody with advice please give. I nearly got serious fever because Nepa GAVE light.
Bjteensdes24: It’s not easy walahi. As a graduate, not landing any job itself is a challenge. I’m just trying to be strong too and hope on God. I’ve thought about different things and it almost affect me too but I pray God ease my mind and calm me. The only time I have peace is when I sleep now, when I wake up again different thoughts comes to mind again
I feel for you young graduates. School never informed you that as you enter YEAR 1, already start looking for jobs outside, or doing business. - Foreign nations, know this and their own students are always doing part-time work throughout their studies. In fact, the school's guidance counselling department advertises local jobs in the area for students to see very well, apply and do. When they graduate, they can still be managing that part time place till they land better job.
But Nigerian graduates will put full hand and leg inside school campus to face their books, 100%. Disconnected from outside world. Then later graduate and can't even write CV for search for job. - Just try. It's not easy, I know but just try.
Yankee101: Banks should be sanctioned for pressuring staff on deposits
She clearly stated her figures were low
It’s a real problem out there for marketers, they berate them, shout on them and threaten them with sack
Maybe it's better to just take the sack and leave. If people just bone and leave, the bank managers will be forced to calm down and treat new staff well.
Capitalism. This is the form of economy most nations practice. However it seems to be yielding 2 bad results. One set of people who end up super rich and another set that end up super poor.
In UK they have a "cost of living crises" and they are ashamed of it. That how can being alive become a crises in their own rich country?
And so we definitely have this problem here in Nigeria as well.
obonujoker: Why not take them on computer training ?
Stubborn set of people. Once you take them computer training, they start watching films. When you're teaching in class, the girls are rubbing lipstick.
The time we were buying basket of onions, N1000, 1 billion Naira was something. Now that just-na-just-na N10k don finish on top 2 onions you bought in the market, that 1 billion doesn't mean anything again O. The money is valueless.
Global2000: Nigerians no get balls. If for say na another country. But Nigerians go back to sleep nothing dey happen.
Nigerians are disunited. Even the best-est person in this Nigeria cannot understand how to lead the nation. All the different tribes and demands just keep on clashing up and down.
Richtaiwo: Most igbos I have come across in lagos are illiterates, at most semi literates. This is not insult but personal observation.
They aren't "illiterate" per say, They PURPOSEFULLY REJECT Western Education. Unfortunately, they don't have sufficient Igbo education to fill in the gaps.
