Teen pregnancy is not ideal, true. If you are blessed with a girl, please make sure she is well versed on the pros and cons of sex, yes the pros as well but obviously much more cons than pros lol. Give her a balanced idea of sex,but shift is more to the negative aspect at her age obviously! Train her well and pray to whatever you believe in that she listens to you. That is ALL you can do as a parent, all this driving her to abortion clinic hehehe, it is just 'agidi' on your part o. Not gonna happen if the girl says No. People shouting I will disown her etc, unless you are heartless and also all your entire family, nuclear and extended are also heartless will that happen Where will she go? Disown her and you have managed to ruin her life finally unless she is very very lucky. The truth of this situation is a girl that is sexually active (as long as she was not forced) cannot be persuaded to have an abortion if she does not want it. You will be surprised at the resilient of this girls and if you manage to brainwash her to have an abortion against her wish, that girl is going to hate you for the rest of your life. Every hiccup in her life will be blamed on how daddy forced her to have an abortion, God help you even more, if she is unable to have kids later in her life hmmm. |
Compromise poster. I won't advice you to forsake one for the other. Talk to your hubby girlie Me personally, I would just choose the job, not because I do not love my husband, He is the one after God to me, but all this make a choice thing has never worked with me,let me make up my own mind all by myself, if you try and force a decision on me, it just does not work even he knows it. He says It is because of the 'hole' I have on my ear, that I am stubborn A husband that cares for your own happiness will always be the one to compromise. He is the man, he is meant to lead you, take care of you, care for your soul, he knows you moving to Abuja will make you sad so he will come to a compromise with you. Also, one more thing, Good spouses (both men and women) are scarce. Not just good husbands! |
What exactly do you want people to do for you? Do you need funds/finance or a whole new accommodation The phone number only won't do. |
ypzilanti: You are suffering from a low IQ and military hangover.Really? Really? Oh my word!you are just making this so easy for me but as I previously said this is simply not an issue to be debated by me. I have to say though, I hope the shameless student defence is stronger than the errmmm strings of words you have up there, trying to make sense but failing woefully. Please stop trying to justify my 'name change' you previously used, it is highly embarrassing and makes a joke of the whole situation. Then again, the whole episode is a joke This will be a walk in the park for the government, they will win this case easily and it is such a shame really as the government winning which it will does not set a good precedent for the population especially the youth population bringing the government to task. |
ypzilanti: I cannot believe this. Supposedely educated people on Nairaland challenging Nigerians that are agrieved by what they view as a president over reaching his constititional powers in court. Is it not then left for the court to either rule for or against them? Are his powers infinite? Should the president have the power to change your surname to Ebele Jonathan? Abeg shut up and let the courts decide this one.You were not really making any iota of sense, but when you suggested that "the president can change my name to Ebele Jonathan" I realised I was about to talk with a silly person so I had to hold my words. How does a president changing my name correlates to the president changing a university name?! You know what that is a rhetorical question, never mind answering it, you simply just won't understand so therefore I am not going to waste my time, this is not even a debatable issue as far as I am concerned. My stance on this stand, it is, say after me S.T.U.P.I.D Name change = court but the real important issues amounts to a few word rant on nairaland and "God is in control" |
Eko Ile: Don't ever think other people don't have any rights just because you think you don't have any and you stand for nothing in life.My apologies, I definitely got it all wrong! What a great way to exercise your 'right' Police brutality for eons, corruption aplenty on the same MAU corridors but yes, I would rather go to court over name change because dammit I know my rights Can't blame them much though, when they refuse to graduate after years and years in school, using the 'unilag' name as a source of livelihood, it most probably would start to feel like MAU is the beginning and end of their life hence the pain they are going through right now. What a joke. |
Awwwwwwwwww Picture perfect family |
This young ones are very stupid, won ma gor gan o So they feel hard done by because of 'name change' awon omo yi o ma gbon at all o. Honestly, going to court over a "name change" in our beloved Nigeria, highest level of misplaced priority. Was it their personal name or their father or father's father name that was changed. Their parents must be so proud!! Court over a school's name change hahaha, awon odensin omo, ala lojuti omo Haba, can't just get my head around it all. Court over name change buhahahahahaha |
It is so sad when you start putting a face to the tragedy Rest in peace |
100% yes. How you want to describe what "foolish" means is an entire kettle of fish and an indvidual's cup of tea Be it insecurity on the woman's part(what will my friend, family say). Loveless upbringing (not her fault quite rightly but we all do need to rise above all adversities of life), no other source of income desperate wifey, and perhaps the most foolish of them all "I am staying for my kids" I have heard/seen it all and the few that manage to come to their senses always marvel at their own foolishness with the usual what was I thinking speech |
Sad. Hope they all survive. |
^ Then by all means, stay put in your house!! You are making too much noise! |
You managed to make £11000 from your car business and you are willing to let that business run to the ground since you have made up your mind that you are going back to Nigeria regardless of the decision over your visa even though you have no fall back / job to go to when you get to Nigeria you have tried that once and you failed (sorry) so you came back to UK Because of an omission on your part, your girlfriend is already comparing you to her EX. You keep going on about how she is good, she is sweet etc well she can't be that 'sweet' if she thinks her EX is better than you, now can she. God save you and you just go home and get married with no solid plans, chei, it is your wife's ex that will be controlling your family, you will still come back here and write part 2 ( 100000 word more) on this same nairaland Good luck poster. |
One step at a time poster, just take your time to heal, if you are a christian, this is the time to even be closer to God, when you need someone to talk to, talk to God. All will be well Has difficult as it is to believe right now, all will be well God has a reason for everything that happens. Just trust in Him I am afraid, the only advice I can give you is God and God alone. It is well with you. May the Good God be with you Amen |
Awww this thread takes me back to my college/university days I invested in so many old pieces "vintage/retro" the posh names for them I hate the 'samey' look with everyone else you get when you buy clothes from high street stores and I definitely could not afford the boutique prices then so I used to go to so many thrift/vintage stores, charity shops, ebay vintage sections Girl will be looking like she was from the 1920's with my afro hair feeling cool with myself haha! Anyway, what I use to do was just take them to the dry cleaners. Poster, if you can factor dry cleaner charge and you still have a good price margin, then go for it. |
My dear poster. If you meet the right man, marriage is not a bondage at all. It is very very very sweet and as you grow together, the love becomes even more amazing and better. Just choose right. Now reading through the topic, all I can say is Na wa and it is a woman that married this Pdude guy. That woman ma ku ise o. Elejo wewe master, how can you say you are married but your countenance is that off a 14 year old female teenager. |
Awwwwwwwwww Pele Poster, you will get over it Please stay this nice and don't let this one life experience turn you to a maniac when it comes to your next girlfriend, trust me, it might seem impossible to you that you can ever love any other person but you will. Love nwatintin. It is well. |
There are some Omotosho's in Kwara State as well |
As you lay your bed you will lie on it |
Hmmm, poster why didn't he tell you to donate towards the renovation, why is it the wedding, a day brouhahaa money that is not accountable for but memories and pictures that he wants you to pay a whole 80% for. Poster, for future, in case you have to, "so you can have mouth", don't pay the lion share. What you can use 30% to do, do it. 20% from him and 10% from you. if it is zobo drink everyone will drink, so be it. You too jebi small, you shouldn't have told him to "borrow". Anyway, don't marry yourself by yourself o! Pool the 30% together, I am sure family member will pay towards it as well. |
Things like this happen all the time A year from now, you will be thanking God that it happened It might hurt now but the pain is just temporary Cheer up darling poster and one thing I must say is don't be the disgruntled bitter EX. Be happy for him, whatever you did for him is between you, him and God. He is getting married, there is nothing you can do about that. Accept it and move on. It is just one of life's lesson. Also, I know some of us girls haha, we won't rest until we or our friends let the fiancee know what sort of man the husband to be is, advice your friend and also you yourself to keep quiet and take it to God in prayer but don't go about letting the whole world know how he did you wrong etc. Pele dear. |
Eeyah thank u o I am a female by the way |
I don't know any lawyer in Nigeria. However, all this talk about who will raise your children. My dad died when I was just 1+ year old My mother raised 4 children ( 2 boys and 2 girls) all by herself on a Nigeria nurse salary and this small shop we had back then in Ife, absolutely no help from anyone, father's side o, mother's side o but God and thank God we are all where we are today. @ poster, you are not a small girl, we can all type/ talk till we are blue in the face, after all the talking/typing, we all go home to our happy home, you are the only one that knows where the shoes hurt, I am sure you have weighed the options. Good luck I say. By God's grace, your Children and yourself will be just fine. |
It is well with you and yours In Jesus Name Amen. God has the final say in everything. The next pregnancy and the one after and the one after will go smoothly Amen Your family shall never experience that sort of stress and pain again. So sorry for your loss. Really was hoping for a happy ending. It is well. |
LMAO Funny thread. |
First thread in this nairaland that has made my blood boil. Na wa. I am convinced some people just talk abi type ni for shock reaction Anybody that disrepect your wife disrespect you so you better know that. Majority of the men talking here that you are at fault aare either not married or if married, did not marry for love, just simply tolerating their wife. You are definitely NOT at fault, infact even if you are at fault nko? so the man had to embarrass you like that in front of her. What a wuss of a man. Poster, please don't you dare apologise to anybody, this is a definite power struggle and that home is your territory. Bunch of shameless people. They don't even respect you at all, imagine calling my phone telling me I should allow their sister to act anyhow in their brother's house. Which house? Did u beg him to marry you or what? I really wish you well poster. It is going to be tough but please stand your ground. If you allow it now, you will allow it forever. As I previously said, husband is a wuss sorry, I know it is impolite to abuse someone's husband but there is no 'nicer' word. Read back to Pro1 I think advice, read davidylan advice, they are all men o and deduce what you can from it. Shameless sisters that refuse to stay in their husband house , now want to come dabaru your own. Anyway poster, pele it is well. I am on the train to work, so I am just typing my thoughts down, might be hard to follow. this thread pain me sha. |
GboyegaD: Don't you feel bringing her younger sister would only make the issue more complicated as if care is not taken, if a fight should come up between the sisters then she would take the blame and may lead to the husband's family having a leverage to insult her family? It is unfortunate the sister in law lacks proper home training and the mistake she is making is she would be getting married in the near future and when such challenges come she wouldn't remember it is the repercussion of the seed she is sowing now.Who said anything about fighting? It needs not reach that stage at all. There are ways you talk to people that makes them think! I am not suggesting fire to fire scenario. A well mannered slightly younger gril will put that silly girl to shame. Trust me. God is a forgiving God I tell you, who is to say she will reap anything in the future?! Poster, if the girl is coming for a short visit, healthy dose of tolerance but if you have agreed for her to stay with you longer, get something doing. It is your HOME. |
It is the husband I blame. He should have told his sister off immediately. Unfortunately Now that his sister has seen that both of you are not united, she will still try so much rubbish I tell you. You will need a healthy dose of tolerant and patience for that one. Just talk to your husband poster and if he is adamant, invite your own sister to your home for the duration of the girl's visit, don't do agidi at all, that she has to go etc just invite ur own sister to come and look after baby as well, make it look as innocent as possible, if you have a sister slightly younger than your sis in-law, by the time your sis talks to her every time she does something wrong, with time, shame go dey catch her and trust me she will learn manners One thing that made me happy in this ur situation is that your parent is aware, when it start getting to man handling and dropping you on the bed unceremoniously, u need to watch that man. Take care of your baby as well. It is well |
Some women sha, locking cupboard, hiding bucket ,buzzing like a fly, taking your nephew from you, all that because a family member did not call ahead?! The fact that you did not call should not be the excuse for her behaviour, she must still be very young in that marriage, me & my husband alone mentality!. I have seen so many sad situations, siblings that were very close even till their late 20's when they were all career building, busy busy busy etc no longer on talking terms or are virtually strangers that don't know how to act to each other all because of intolerance of wives. Anyway next time, u too call and don't go there empty-handed. |
