odeexpress: I have seen several men made concerted efforts to impress their women before they marry. But after the wedding, I have observed that most men reduce their efforts and commitment. Is it normal? What could be responsible? I don't know, maybe most of these women marry the wrong men? But seriously, men are human beings just like women and are not flawless. Most women, if not all, expects their man to be perfect, but it can't be. Women, i have come to observe love FAIRY_TALE life and HAPPILY EVER-AFTER kind of scenario, which just aint real. One more thing, Women can keep going at something, especially LOVE AFFAIR, for a longtime without getting bored, while men are the opposite. Why do u think the slogan says "ITS FOR THE MAN TO WOE THE WOMAN, BUT ITS FOR THE WOMAN TO MAINTAIN THE HOME." So sisters CHERISH the long resilience you have, it's a gift. TO BE CONTINUED... |

Mekusnwa: Where did they go to pick this character from? There's no end to what theses Gej haters will not do to get at him. Suddenly, they hve gone to generate a Ghanian professor to come and give a disjointed analyses of that interesting Media chat. Who interviewed this professor? Who made him world's foremost economist? I will not be surprised if this man was cloned by SAHARAREPORTERS or Kobojunkie to lend credibility to their falsehood. Let me assume that the man exist and face the issues raised. 1. He acted in ignorance when he said the president didn't declare his assets. The president indeed declared his assets but it was not made public. Even if you doubt it, the assets declaration that he did as Vp under Yaradua still subsists as he has not left office since then. So why the noise over assets declaration? 2. It is an insult on the sensibilities of Nigerians for the so called Ayitteh to label our President as insane and with unsound mind. Who adjudged Jonathan as having unsound mind? Did Ayitteh evaluate a medical report to that effect? How did he arrive at this weighty derogatory statement against a PHD holder? Who is Ayitteh to tell us we voted an insane President? please there must be an end to useless propaganda. 3. The so called Ayitteh questioned why GEJ has not fixed Maidugri airport for his usage. I want to ask, has Ghana even fixed the airport at Accra talkless of the one in hinterland? Is it Not the airport where a cargo aircraft crashed due to water logged runway. Meanwhile, Gej is carrying out massive reconstruction of airports across the country. He is doing in less than one year what many of his predecessors could not do all thru their tenure. Go to Abuja airport, the domestic wing has been closed down for intensive renovation. New car parks are being built. At the international wing, the runways are being built and the entire airport infrastructure is being rebuilt. Similar projects are going on simultaneously in Enugu, Lagos, etc 4. He said GEJ's Agric revolution is only restricted to distribution of palm seedlings. What an affront on truth. Even a toddler in Nigeria has come to know about the cassava revolution and fertilizer distribution reforms scheme. 5. Thankfully, the fake prof accepted the massive construction of rail lines across the country but only faulted the projects on account of what he described as non inclusion of Nigerians in the contract. Who told him? And since when has a Ghanian assumed the role of our local content enforcement officer? 6. He ended up betraying his true identity as an interested party when he said the president needed to consult the university authority and students body before renaming Unilag. What a joke! Guy, u aint that BRIGHT either. I LAFF AT UR DISJOINTED ANALYSIS IN GREEK. |

Excuzeme: Your post am afraid to say, does not even portray you as a Christian? Why? First, Christians are followers of Christ and Christ NEVER RETALIATED, when attacked. Remember that "Peter drew his sword, to defend Christ, by cutting-off one ear of an "attacker" but Christ admonished him and "REPLACED the EAR"!
Read your statement above and tell me how hat compares with the account above? That is why l said you are NOT qualified to call yourself a Christian, you bring disrepute to Christ's name.
But then, l feel for you....and people who have suffered the death of a loved one from the Boko Haram terrorist. TWO WRONGS CANT MAKE A SINGLE RIGHT! You will just be another terrorist if you slit their throat!
TO MUSLIM AGAINST TERROR GROUP: What l think we should do is this: -Granted, these people volunteering to protect the churches can be infiltrated by BH members. They themselves should know this and expect that Christians will be wary of them.
-They should now put methods and process in place to verify thoe who want to participate. This is just fine-tuning he original idea. _Dont just walk up to a church and say you want to "protect". -Organize yourself first, get an "organisation" going, identify "leaders". -Vet those who want to join. (background checks) -Design Vests and number them serially. Distribute these to those who want to participate. -Design I.D cards with pictures and even better, finger prints/biometrics (simple ones) -Have a database of Volunteers.Pass these to Govt Security Agencies.
Dont rush things even though you meant well. The situation is volatile and delicate.
-Do everything within your power to breed TRUST, there is so much distrust already. -Be very open and upfront with your activities. Start on a small scale first. Ask Govt to give you Soldiers to lead the team. Like Two "armed" Soldiers leading a Team of 20 Volunteers
-Identify the church each team is going to FIRST, liaise with their Leaders very well, breed their trust and confidence and tell them what to expect. let them tell you were they need you. Dont go beyond that point 'cos you will still be under watch and some suspicions, no matter your good intentions.
I want to believe your intentions are genuine though you should expect "suspicions" for now. This is what we have been asking the "muslim Spiritual fathers" in the North to do, all the while: Condemn the terrorist act, speak out against it, show positive effort to eradicate it. TOGETHER, WE ARE STRONGER THAN ALL BOKO HARAM,....TOGETHER WE CAN RENDER THEN USELESS and DEFEAT THEM.
I urge Christians to "show magnanimity" but at the same time, REMAIN VIGILANT! I like how u corrected me without insulting me, now that's humane. But what i find offensive is this statement of urs; That is why l said you are NOT qualified to call yourself a Christian, you bring disrepute to Christ's name.. You are NOT God Almighty neither are u a part of the Holy Trinity. So how dare u judge me? Where do u think King David of old is, Heaven or Hell? Get my drift? My friend, WE HAVE ALL BROUGHT DISREPUTE TO CHRIST'S NAME ONE TIME OR THE OTHER. NO BODY HOLY PASS and am willing to accept that, are u? |

texazzpete: No, I just KNOW you're daft.
For years we have Christians here bellyaching about how Muslims are 'supporting' these crises and how Muslims who do not speak up are 'silent supporters' of these religious crisis. Now some Muslims say they wanna stand up and help protect Christian places of worship to show that they detest who Boko Haram is doing and all you can say is this?!
There are obvious loopholes in the plan. for one, it may well be all too easy for Boko Haram to infiltrate such movements and use it to make their church bombing runs easier. But bring up such opposition in a calm, logical manner instead of braying like a castrated camel. Dolt! Super-ted or texxaspete, u didn't just go there? Speak ur mind instead of insulting ur generation. U really don't want to take me on. I'll tell u what we'll do, we'll use ur entire family as a test subject in a church in the north n then ask those muslim volunteers as a sheid 4 them. Lets c how the experiment goes. |

Insha Allah, we will be today going out to assist in defending Churches from attack by miscreants, be they Boko Haram or whatever other unscrupulous elements are behind these Sunday attacks.

bayooooooo: By SaharaReporters, New York In a live media chat today, President Goodluck Jonathan stated that the Federal Government is not into any dialogue with the militant Islamist group Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati Wal-Jihad, otherwise known as Boko Haram. Mr. Jonathan declared the sect faceless, stating that his government cannot dialogue with them.
Mr. Jonathan’s comment on Boko Haram was one of several issues he touched on during a presidential media chat that ran live on NTA in Nigeria.
President Jonathan insisted that Boko Haram and their sponsors would not stop Nigerians from working, adding that all agencies of the government including the president, vice president, ministers must keep faith in Nigeria till the end.
He added that Boko Haram was attacking churches in order to instigate religious crises. Mr. Jonathan said, “We are working and will crush it. They are changing tactics. They can as well be attacking mosques to instigate Muslims against Christians.”
Asked to justify his recent trip to Brazil, President Jonathan declared that he had no regrets, noting, “Boko Haram’s main agenda is to destabilize government like all other terrorists.” The Nigerian president stressed that suspending his trip would have given terrorists a boost.
Mr. Jonathan also explained why he had not visited Maiduguri and Damaturu, two hot beds of sectarian violence. He said the airport was ill-maintained for his plane to land, adding that he could not travel by helicopter for security reasons.
Asked why he had not declared his assets, Mr. Jonathan replied in an impatient tone, stating “I don’t give a damn” about declaration of assets. He related that he had gone to the late President Umaru Yar’Adua to caution “that we should not play to the hands of some people [by openly declaring their assets].” Mr. Jonathan added, “That is a matter of principle and I am not going to declare. It is not the president declaring his asset that will end Boko Haram.”
Other highlights of the president’s media chat are in the Premium Times report below:
President Goodluck Jonathan will this evening host a televised media chat with some Nigerian journalists to respond to questions on some topical national issues. We bring you LIVE updates from the chat.
President Goodluck Jonathan is hosting his third Presidential Media Chat since returning to office in May 2011. The first was in September 2011 and the last in January 2012, in the heat of the removal of subsidy on petroleum products.
The challenges confronting the country - insecurity, economy, corruption, fuel subsidy, dearth of infrastructural, among others - are still largely the same since his last media chat.

The phone lines to call in on the presidential media chat is 09-625-1100 or 09-625-1000. If you are calling from outside the country, use the contry code (+234).
19:06 Gvernment ready to discuss with Boko Haram: President Joinathan says he is willing to dialogue with the Boko Haram sect, if they have a "face." He said the sect's members are Nigerians and he will like to transform their lives just like the Niger Delta millitants.
19:12 For now, there is no negotiation ongoing with Boko Haram, the president said.
19:16 President Jonathan said he has not visited Borno state, the center of Boko Haram attacks, because the airport there was not functional at the time he planned to visit. "And we did not want to land somewhere and fly in to Maiduguri with a helicopter for obvious reasons." He promises to visit the state and other states in Nigeria.
19:19 The Brazil Trip: The president said if he hadn't travelled to Brazil while Kaduna was boiling, it would have sent out a very wromg message to the world, and bolster the sect. "The day the international community gets to know that the president of Nigeria couldn't travel because of Boko Haram, then we are finished," the president said. "The Boko Haram and their sponsors cannot stop Nigeria."
19:24 The Body Language on Corruption: The president said he is a calm person and gives people the latitude to do their job in reaction to question bothering on his percieved weak body language on the fight against corruption. "A lot of people misunderstand me," he said.
Whoever says the president's body language does not allow him to fight corruption, he's incompetent
Asset Declaration: The presient says its a matter of principle and whether he is criticised from "head to toe" he will not declare his assets. "It is not right," he said. "I didn't want even want to declare my assets as VP" but was forced by the then president, Umara Musa Yar'Adua. He said asset declaration is "not the right thing to do."
19:35 Oil Subsidy Probe: The president said he initiated the probe of the oil industry even before the Senate and the House of Reps began its probe of the sector.
The president just mentioned that "only yesterday," he directed the EFCC to investigate Nigeria's bank accounts in the United States, following a report on a newspaper.
The presidency said he dealing with the same businessmen former president Olusegun Obasanjo and Late Umaru Musa Yar'Adua hobnobbed with. He speaks in defence of the businessmen, including Femi Otedola who is involved a bribery scandal with chairman of House of Reps Panel that probed the subsidy regime. He however said he did not initiate the sting operation that caught Mr. Lawan.
19:55 Electricity: "When we were campaiging, we didn't know that BH will overtake the priorities of government," the president says.
He adds that what the government is doing with the increased electricity tariff is too ensure that those who earn low income pay lower tariff. "What we are doing with electricity tariff is too ensure that those who earn low income pay lower tariff," the president said.
20:07 Agriculture: The president said his government are revolutionizing agriculture in Nigeria."We are giving cotton seeds free in the North" he said.
Third caller unable to get through to the program.
Nigeria is owing over N100 billion in judgement debts, the president reveals.
20:14 The fourth caller's line fails after he introduced himself as calling from Ibadan.
The President said the government is doing very well in railway construction. "You may not know, but we are working," he said. He added that his government has made a "significant progress" in railway construction. "You should commend us," he adds.
20:19 Ogene Tega's call from Delta state gets through, he introduces himself and the line goes dead again.
20:20 The prsident says they are managing the economy professionally, "It is not Jonathan that is managing it," he said
20:22 The president begs to us first to use two years plus to see what he can do in terms of wealth creation, before talking about 2015. "It is too early to talk about 2015," the president said. "When INEC opens the gate, we will know who will contest or who will not contest."
20:27 Relationship with National Assembly: "I have a good relationship with the National assembly," the president said. "It is not as if there are no issues." He plans to do annual address to the National Assembly and says his being summoned to the National Assembly is not an issue.
"Whenever I travel, I go with atleast two members of the National Assembly," the president reveals.
20:35 The president says he "thinks" Nigerians should still trust him. He blames his poor public perception on the dublicability of IT (social media).
He said Nigerians will begin to see the results of his government in 2013. "People (critics) will begin to change after one year," the president said.
20:42 UNILAG name change: The president said what he did, in terms of law, was correct. You change the name first, then send the bill to the National Assembly later, he argues. "What we did, was the normal procedure," he said.
He also insists that most of the students are too young to know the significance of Moshood Abiola in Nigeria's democracy.
20:46 Call from Victor in Markurdi gets through as the first successful call in for the day. Victor is asking for equitable distribution of You Win grants. He is asking the president to ensure that the grant is not given to only those who know people in government.
20:52 Crude Oil Tefth: "The stealing of crude oil is a Nigerian phenomenon," the president said. He adds that it has gone cancerous. "We will stop it, but it is like allowing a cancerous cell to grow into a major tumor."
20:55 The program ends. Thank you for following our updates.
http://premiumtimesng.com/news/5734-LIVE-UPDATES-President-Jonathans-third-media-chat.html Like a commentator said, The above is a very clear indication of the backwardness of Nigerian leaders. Unfortunately there was hardly anything inspiring or encouraging in the whole "chat". It either demonstrates either a complete lack of understanding of the Nigerian issues or an under estimation of the gravity and seriousness of those issues. I was completely disappointed with the vagueness and shallowness of the responses to the questions that equally lacked depth. I thought our CIC was supposed to be a Phd holder? Was expecting more intellectual and academic depth, no wonder outsiders beyond the shores of Nigeria often marvel at the celebration of indolence and shoddiness in our country? Sad that the only caller who got through was only able to do so after about an hour? Can you compare this comedy from the Giant of Africa - our leaders should spend more time watching the press engagement between POTUS and the American press! Most certain their IQs are not a million times more. "THIS GEJ IS A TYRANT IN THE MAKING JUST WATCH AND SEE". GEJ has no ideas at all, as much as i hate saying this, this country is finished with this sort, at the helm of affairs. "GOD PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON US!" |

supereagle: Some lawyers in Lagos on Sunday identified poverty, lack of love and desperation as reasons for the high rate of divorce in country.
The lawyers, said that most people go into marriage without prior knowledge of marriage.
One of the lawyers, Mr Linus Okwara, explained that desperation, especially on the part of the female folks, was a major cause of divorce.
“Most young women feel, it is a must to get married at an early age while the older ones cannot stand the stigma of not being married.
“Therefore, they enter into marriages not minding what it may cost because they must get married,’’ Okwara said.
He further said that some women, in their desperation avoid marriage counselling and courtship so that the man would not change his mind.
Mrs Nkechi Amanambu, a legal practitioner, said that some families due to poverty give away their female children in order to make some money.
“Parents who cannot afford to train their female children give them out for marriage so that it could fetch them money.
“They don’t care about what the child feels or wants for herself. They force her into an unwanted or unplanned marital life,’’ Amanambu said.
Amanambu, however, said that such couple would opt for a divorce by the time they realised that the union was against their will.
Mr Peter Ayodele, another lawyer, said that some men and women did not understand that love was the primary basis for workable marriage.
“Some marriages lack love. If a marriage has love as its foundation, as in the Christian and Islamic doctrine; couples would stay together `for better and for not as good as,’’ he said.
Ayodele also explained that the problem was rampant with women because most divorce suit had women as petitioners.
“Most women, especially the career ones, would want to rub shoulders with their husbands; they are not ready to compromise or stoop down for their spouses.
“And men are naturally egoistic, once their wives start giving them such challenges in their marital decisions; there would be conflicts which might lead to divorce.’’
He also cited social pressure as another major cause of divorce, saying that most girls go into marriages because of money and social status of the husband to be in the society.
“Once they go into the marriage with such mindset, whenever anything affects the position, they want to seek divorce because they are not ready to absorb the ups and downs of marriage,’’

ZUBY77: i am sure this man has councilled thousands of people not to abandon their marriages whether the marriage is working or not. Enslaving many men and women in the name of God while he walks away from his own marriage whenever he wants. Hypo. Leave this deceiving so-called MOGs', they find it very difficult to practice what they preach just like the Pharisees and Sadducees. Yet they expect u to do exactly as they say. |

defemz: What i fail to understand is that the effort muslims expend to convince the world, with words of mouth that islam is peace is much more than the efforts they expend in demonstrating with their lifestyle. Leave these so-called muslims n their evil cult called islam. They're a bunch of CON-ARTISTS, all of them. |

werepeLeri: setup by who? conspiracy by who? Guy so u do not believe this is a conspiracy. U do know what 'Jihad' is right? The boko haram have made it clear, 4 the first time in their lives, that they r observing a 'Jihadist' agenda. Jihad doesn't include bombing mosques n killing fellow muslims, but persecuting Christ n His body. Some people r just out to n derive so much joy in knocking peoples heads together. GOD pass them! |

Donbasi: Jtf for allow this one, make we hear say e don happen 4 mosque it would have been a nice wakeup call for muslim clerics to talk to their BH brothers. Jtf take note As much as am not happy that this bomb planted in the mosque didn't go-off, Christianity religion doesn't preach "AN EYE FOR AN EYE" like, u no what religion i was going to say. Thank God life's were saved in the mosque, though. At least if we Christians speak like this, it'll go to show that WE VALUE LIFE unlike them. |
