so how much wud last like normally 24/7?
A lot of money for pure 24/7 operation, lol grin

Like, a lot....

It would cost a lot, not due to the price of the solar panels, but the price of the batteries.

Unless you cut cost by buying so called "SOLAR BATTERIES" from Nigeria, which would probably die in a year.

The cost of running that load while the sun is shining though would not be that much, like from around 8a.m - 5p.m.

God bless you. I have said this severally. Solar is not an option to electricity. It is even cheaper to buy a petrol generator than using solar
Over how many years though? That's the point.

Solar is like paying for 10 years worth of fuel on day one, but that doesn't mean it's more expensive in the long run.

I still don't know why Africa is still getting deceived that Solar is the way for for Electricity just because we have abundance of sunlight.

Any deep thinker and non conformist will realize that it's all a scam

Solar should be the most expensive source of electricity
Solar is not a scam though, expensive yes! Scam? No!

Well maybe those solar panels that they sell in naija market sha.

Don't you think that it's fascinating that solar panels produce power day after day without needing any intervention?

Did you read the part where i said Nigeria's inflation is worse and also better than some other nationshuh Example is Zimbabwe. My point is simple, in as much as inflation is a global phenomenon, Nigeria has been hit hard with it. Your stand on other factors affecting inflation was not put into place by me because that is not the subject matter. I totally understand your point though.

Let’s look at the cost of a one pound loaf of white bread over a twenty-five year period. In January of 1988, the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Statistics, indicates that a loaf of white bread cost approximately 59¢. In January of 2013, that same loaf of bread cost $1.42. Thus, in the twenty-five year period, the bread increased 83¢ or rose by 140%.

In Nigeria, the price of bread might have increased by 500%, am not sure, haven't been home in a while, however, my point is, Nigeria mught have been hit harder, however, inflation is a global problem.
Okay! we're on the same page.

In as much as inflation has hit Nigeria so bad. This is applicable to so many developed countries in the world.

From an economist point of view, how much was the salary then? Maybe N700, how much is salary today?? My point is, salary structure also changed. I mean, no graduate earns N700 as monthly salary today. Same way the price of flight ticket from the U.S back then to Africa used to be $150-$288, today, its around $1,000-1400. Inflation has been hitting the world and not just Nigeria, yes, Nigeria might have it rough than others and might have it better than some other nations.

To effectively calculate it and determine how bad it is, economist will try to convert that money to how much it is worth in todays market. And compare the percentage in inflation. You could rent an apartment for $120 in Newyork in the 60s, $120 wont even pay your agreement fee today in Newyork.

So before you bash Nigeria, know that this is a global phenomenon.

And for the record, N100 was a lot of money back then. That is some families monthly salary back then.
Of course inflation affects every country, but it’s the magnitude of the inflation here that is under contention.

Or will you also justify Zimbabwe’s inflation?
PoliticsIs Nigeria Now A Terrorist Country? by VaselineCrew(op): 11:38am On Feb 26, 2021
From the outside looking in, I wonder if Nigeria is now viewed as a terrorist country.

If other countries were to enact a visa ban on Nigeria due to “terrorists activity”, would they be justified?

The daily news of mass kidnappings, killings and bombings may have made Nigerians numb, but that doesn’t mean that others are numb too.

What do you guys think?

Wow! That is crazy men.

Kudos to the LASMA for trying to apprehend one way drivers and other traffic offenders, HOWEVER, their methods are sooo CRUDE!

Why are we still having officers trying to stop vehicles on foot?

LASMA should be able to radio in a police squad car to PULL OVER an erring driver, or LASMA should have a squad car, with police officers and lasma working together to form a squad.

In lagos, I see LASMA just standing at junctions and I wonder...

If they are there JUST TO CONTROL traffic, then fine, but you can't try to apprehend erring drivers on foot, banging on their doors, that is just dangerous. Leadership needs to take all his into consideration.

btw, you have to give little props to AMBODE, cause during his tenure, 112 cars were very active and were PULLING people over frequently. NOW, they just park at junctions and sleep, waiting for the sun to set so they can erect their cash checkpoints.

When was the last time Buhari had a live session with media?

https://www.nairaland.com/6408247/when-buharis-last-live-media#99397697

Think about it, when was the last time? Wasn’t it like last election with NTA?

Imagine kidnappings and explosions happening in the U.S.A, and the president will not be seen AT ALL. I mean, would that even be possible in a country like that?

We play too much in Naija! No one is even asking where Buhari is.

All the time media will just say, “Buhari Says”

Why can’t this man stand before reporters like American presidents do and answer questions.

Damn, even GEJ answered questions from media and remember the famous “There is God” cry from his wife.

Buhari has set the bar really really low, like ultra low.

Now if US ban Nigeria from getting visas, we will be complaining, but think about how Nigeria looks like to an outsider in a relatively peaceful country.

There are tolls on UK highways. Those tolls are what keep the roads smooth like that.

Why don't you want Nigeria to do the same?
Lol

Truly, Nigerians are the ultimate in suffering and smiling.

I am not against all tolls, but against tolling already existing routes.

You just posited that the highways in the UK are smooth because of toll, so what happened to the lekki epe expressway that was tolled? Why wasn’t the road smooth?

Why doesn’t lekki epe expressway have lane markings?

Why is the lekki epe expressway dark at night?

I don’t know why you guys must always fight for evil in Nigeria. You fight for old corrupt leaders, you fight for bad roads, you fight so your leaders have the gall to make you suffer more... I just don’t get it.

Look at the picture below of a UK highway and compare it to Lekki Epe, where we used to pay N250-N300 per pass. Do you see how the lanes are marked so PERFECTLY on the UK expressway below?

Or maybe you will argue again, but this time, against your very own eyesight.

Is lekki epe highway anywhere close to this?

Suffering and smiling is just too much in this country abeg

LCC is now owned by government since LASG took them over a few years ago, so of course you don’t expect government to care about streetlights and markings. Both of those were actually more present when it was not owned by LASG.
This makes sense, cause at a point, street lights were maintained and lanes were repainted.

Wait for government to find wife for you and help you pay bride price.

In UK you pay for water supplied to you - not free.

In UK, you pay for your food. Notbfree and not subsidised

In UK you pay for your electricity from private companies. Not run by government or subsidised.

In UK there are also some roads with tolls.

In UK VAT is 20%

In UK 63% of petrol price is tax element.

The only area you listed where I agree UK government subsidises is education. But then that's where your taxes go to.

Other things you didn't mention.

In UK there is radio and TV licence.

In UK there is council tax

In UK income above £50k per year is taxed at 40%

Airports are run privately and not by government

Most Train services are private and not government owned.

So what then is UK government doing with all its resources??
Are you for real?

When last did you see potholes on UK highways?

Those roads that are like roads in video games, where you can cruise with your ride and it will almost be like you’re flying.

Let’s not even talk about their military might, fighter jets they produce...

The tax burden in the Uk is obviously much, but you can’t ask what they are doing with it, juxtaposing that with Nigeria in order to absolve leaders here from graft.
PoliticsRe: FG To Introduce Tollgates On 12 Highways (full List) by VaselineCrew: 8:34pm On Feb 23, 2021
Why can't they toll only new routes?

I am not in support of repair/extension of a road on an already existing route and then erecting tolls. This just adds to the suffering of people in my opinion, adds more traffic on those routes, not to talk of the cost of paying a toll for each and every pass, unlike a more forgiving scheme, where toll passes could be paid for ahead of time for a certain duration, thereby cutting the cost of paying per pass.

I do however strongly support tolls on new routes such as the Lekki-Ikoyi Link bridge. Obviously, some may argue that this bridge could still be toll free and built with tax payers money, but as a society, having tolls such as these that solve problems and cut travel times should be encouraged. These would also help to pay for more infrastructure, given there in sincere leadership, which is hard to come by all over Nigeria.

The toll gate at Lekki-Epe, to me, is an example of corruption in Nigeria. If you are currently driving on that road tonight, please report to the house whether or not you have street lights and adequate lane markings on that road, or are you just driving in the dark?

Very nostalgic.
It brings back my memories of the early 90's
My favorite toll-gate of all time was the Okigwe Toll gate, I'd tell you why

I had just accompanied a friend from Enugu to Mbaise for his traditional wedding rites and on our way back the coaster bus we hired spoilt just after that toll-gate.
We managed to roll it off the road and tried sleeping in it because it was verrrry late.

Well, long story shut.
We were robbed by almost 8 men.
All the ladies in the bus were raped including the bride we just went to bring home.
Her moans were something else...they were more of pleasure and that was the begining of my fetish for bedding married women.

Almost the whole country, Governors neglect their basic duties, like providing pipe borne water.

You go to America, you open your tap, water flows, you pay a bill

You go to Nigeria, you first have to do research, does the estate provide water? Or do I need bore hole? Or do I call Tanker

Yet, Yet, the miscreants hail them as the best thing since sliced bread.

Even almighty Lagos, with their tollgate Tinubu, 78 million naira website Fashola and Sanwo olu now, still, you can't get government water even in the highest brow areas of lagos, were property is worth millions of dollars and feature open gutters.

Why should students at a renowned university, not be able to open their taps and get drinking water?
