that is the problem. Every one of them if kinda calm now because they have a common enemy but from time to time they still draw swords. Even when you restructure that's when the battle of the minorities will commence. I still think it's better to restructure along ethnic lines so a cluster of groups that speak similar language can be together to avoid people complaining about marginalization.

The fact that a country must be split into peoples that speak the same language, seems like such a foreign concept to Nigerians, after the British came and joined vastly different people together.

The British just came and drew map for black men, not considering any implications but focused on profit only, but the same black man that was conquered still upholds the arbitrary maps.

It’s like if an armed robber came and broke the fence in your house, thus joining you and your neighbors compounds. When the robbers leave, won’t you want to build back your wall?

It’s funny how people think that a country with so many tribes can move in the one direction, almost like giving all passengers in a plane access to their own flight stick and expecting the plane to fly a correct course. The Igbo passengers want to go left, the Yorubas right, the hausas... and so on.

I wonder what the proponents of one Nigeria use as strong justification for the conquest by the British. Weak points raised are, we have been together long so let’s manage and bla bla bla... manage till when exactly?

You guys don’t even speak the same language for the most part. When you ask most countries what language they speak, they majorly give one major language and maybe a minor to account for immigrants, but come to Nigeria and ask what language do you guys speak and you are bombarded with a whole slew of languages, almost like how the Tower of Babel was struck down and different languages where cast on the builders THEREBY CAUSING CONFUSION.

Nigeria is confused fundamentally, and that is because she was a conquered territory. It is up to the inhabitants that are now free to decide how they want to progress.

I may not have agreed with all the methods of #Endsars, especially blocking commuters.

However, this has resulted to lekki tollgate being liberated from the fraudulent toll on an already existing road.

There is no more daily suffering due to traffic at that particular spot, bashed cars and extremely chaotic queues.


They must be hailed as Heroes after all is said and done.

P.S, not the thugs that burnt things, but the genuine protesters that wanted the best for Lagos and Nigeria



When we used to pay those tolls, they didn't even use the money to proved street lights, to paint lane markings and so on.

The one the pisses me off personally is how they didn't even paint lanes throughout the expressway. They let the original lanes fade out and didn't think they ought to repaint them. I just never understood that. One day or one weeks worth of toll revenue could have painted PERFECT lands from the first toll gate to the next, but they never did that. It just shows how corruption was rife at that gate, so insane.

You can’t be voting people in just because of tribalism or hatred, or whatever negative reasons because of spite.

There are so many people that can shake up governance at all levels, EXTREMELY brilliant Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa people. People making drones, business moguls, intelligent teachers, doctors, engineers, marketers... why then do we choose agberos, godfathers and the likes?

Absolute Nonsense, I tell ya

On the road converted to one-way at sandfill, four-point area in victoria island, police have now formed checkpoint at night.

I think they do this, cause they know that traffic must now flow through them (due to the new one-way), so they take advantage of the new layout.

They were told to embrace patrols which they seem to have been doing in the day time, as they stop one way drivers with their police vehicles while patrolling, but it seems at night, they want to turn into something else.

I was shocked when I had to pass there recently at night. About 6 policemen all on foot, shining torchlights were at the sandfill junction, blocking both the left (used to go towards fourpoint) and the right (used to go to ozumba and lekki epe expressway). It was quiet nerve raking to reach the junction and be bombarded by so many flash lights.

If they claim they are doing this for security, then it would be better to stick to patrols as they can give chase and respond faster with vehicles as opposed to stashing so many police officers on foot at only one junction.

The solution is simple stop building roads with open drainage. Cover the drainage. If possible build the side walks on the drainage. Create few holes by the side of the drainage to allow for water to flow from the road into the drainage. Go to algiers, u won't see open drainage. We make simple things look big

In Nigeria, when your side loses, you go into opposition. Not constructive opposition, but virulent, bitter, tribalistic opposition. (Which is why some of us who think all Nigerian governments past and present are bunk tend to stay on the fence.)

IPOB is popular not because of secession...but because many Southerners feel left out of the sharing of the goodies that happens when a party wins. When PDP was in the ascendancy, the goodies sharing slightrly benefited the South...when APC won, and recall that APC is percieved as a Northern party, all the goodies went to the North. Southerners were left with nothing...unless you were one of the few that joined APC on time....

Also, around the time APC came into office, the oil prices crashed. A lot of Ibos are into business...and many of them rely on forex to import the stuff they sell. And as a result of forex shortfalls due to oil prices falling...and they are still too low...government brought in forex cuts and restrictions that affected these businessmen badly.

In times like these, secession becomes a useful tool to extract benefits from the center. Just as Northerners use the threat of 'sharia' to extract concessions from southern-led governments.

Ultimately, the problem is Nigeria runs a share the national cake economy. And everyone is fightring for his or her share. And tribe and religion get mixed in.

Then there is the overarching myth of the NORTH , so powerful to enslave the South, yet so powerless to be outwited by the South.

And you know what makes me laugh. In 2011, when GEJ was in power, many Northerners did not believe in the system either...till Buhari tok over, and all of a sudden, it became cool to be a Nigerian up North.

Cool analysis, but you can’t really put the whole south under the IPOB umbrella, as they have detractors in the south as well.

States collects allocations, they collect IGR, they collect FG assistances, programs and policies, they even collect the Nigerian police and law enforcement, but they still cry and shout, they still form delegation to Abuja with their hands and mouth stretched out to beg for the most ridiculous things, these useless governors even budget and pocket billions in security votes every month.

When the average Nigerian look out the window and see bad roads, they send their anger to the FG and the president, everything in Nigeria must be the responsibility of the FG and the president when in fact they are the responsibility of their own governors, the same useless governors they voted for and are paying to take care of their lives, the same useless governors with billions in security votes every month.

Nigerians are still socially and democratically underdeveloped, they are still democratically immature even though they crave and yell democracy every day, they don't know their point A to point B in the grand scheme of things in Nigeria and their own environment and their useless and incompetent governors are in the same boat.

After all this long writing, if we ask you now if Nigeria is ready for state police, won’t you still say no?

Why all the focus on Twitter for registration?

There are thousands of applications both on the Google PlayStore and the Apple App Store, which Nigerians use but aren’t registered here.

Apps from games, productivity apps, lifestyle, music... and social media, of which Twitter is just ONE.

Following Lai Mohammed’s logic, every app must register in Nigeria, even you wallpaper and theme launchers on Android.

There are a lot of things that Lagos can do to help improve and blaze the trail for Nigeria

A few of these are (note these problems are common throughout the country)

- Cover open gutters
There is no reason for Lagos to still have kpotopoto poo and pee mix with algae gutters open to the public.

-Enforce traffic laws
I don’t mean officers just standing at junctions, because most traffic infractions happen on the move and not while stationary. So you need a mobile force to PATROL and Pull Over malefactors. I once told someone that in the U.S, you can’t change lanes without using your signal and he didn’t believe me. The devil as the day is in the details. You can not overlook things like people driving on lanes, in the bush path, not using signals, and expect to have an orderly traffic situation, it will NEVER EVER HAPPEN.

-Reduce hawking/begging on streets
This one is kinda hard, cause of the economic situation in the country, but it will be disastrous in the long term to have so many out of school children live their lives on the streets chasing after cars.

-Provide Pipe Borne Water
A lot of houses already have boreholes for water, but a lot also don’t have this. It would be nice to provide one of the most basic infrastructure to the people in the form of pipe borne water.

All in all Lagos and the rest of our lands will continue to improve, and hopefully in leaps and bounds with the right leadership in place.

I’m thinking Sowore but still open to ideas beyond apc and pdp, unless of course those parties were to by chance bring out brilliant candidates, which isn’t a likely outcome going by their antecedents.

The why for Sowore is cause he would be one of the most brilliant presidents Nigeria has ever had. Graduating from an Ivy League school and growing Sahara reporters to what it is today are some of the things that endear me to him.

With voting other parties, there’s a higher likelihood of getting the best (or close) man for the job, as they don’t subscribe to the zoning policy laid out by the apc and pdp. How can merit be upheld in a system that promotes “turn by turn”? It’s almost like flying in a plane piloted by the best pilot in his/her class, versus flying in a plane with a pilot only there because it’s the turn of his/her tribe to fly the plane.

Why naija youths after all the suffering still vote apc and pdp is beyond me. Is everything just a joke to you guys?

You will use every opportunity to destroy your country with your votes like it is not your country
