ogtavia: bro,i never said that I feel no sympathy for her,far from it....however 14 isnt too young to take a decision for yourself,...its because of this kind of thinking we have immature adults..twenty - somethings who think, act and behave like teenagers or like my friend Yuneehk will put it...overgrown babies...what you should have probably said is at that age and her surrounding circumstance, she needed a mentor or a mature adult to navigate the difficulty of that period,..the real problem isn't the fact that she became a prostitute, the problem lay in her poor choice, who knows what other terrible thing would have happened to her...look 14 isnt too young to take a decision for her life,if I remember, she was a secondary school graduate..permit me to use that word graduate...at 14...she should have at least a faint picture of the future she wants for herself.. My brother can you put yourself in her shoes for a minute? At age 14, where were you and what did you go through ? I'm sure your parents were taking good care of you. You ate what you like, your father or mother would have mentored you into the adult you are now. The only mentor this young girl had was a prostitute. Most Nlanders are too judgemental. The only problem I will have with her is if she chooses to remain in that profession. |

mccoy47: Mtchewww! Silly girl! Boo huu! So what if u wia raped! Is the prostitution justified? Oprah Winfrey was raped too at a young age and yet she went on to become one of the most powerful women the world has known!
Better wake up from ur slumber and find something to do with ur life! Nobody cares about what u'v been tru. Ur failure in life won't be excused! It's not yet over for her. She can still make it. We should try to be compassionate to others. You've not been in her shoes before. It's not fair to start comparing her to Oprah. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: FCSC: A Country Where 3rd Class Is Considered Above Msc + Bsc (2.1) by vislabraye(m): 9:09am On Mar 18, 2017 |
neoclassical: I woke up this morning with the news that FCSC has shortlisted lists of successful candidates in the ongoing recruitment exercise by the Commission in various Federal Ministries.
Succinctly, I have a friend who studied Business Administration with 3rd Class, while I have Msc and Bsc (2.1) all in Economics. Both of us applied for the same position (SGL 09) in the Ministry of Trade & Investment. Perhaps, to my greatest perplexity, this guy's name was shortlisted while mine was conspicuously missing. Just a few minutes ago he opened up to me that the father made "some calls" on his behalf prior to this time.
For your information, we are of the same age bracket, applied for same position, from the same State. So what criteria could have been used to disqualify someone with Msc and Bsc (2.1) and someone with a 3rd Class was selected.
Holding other factors constant, I am so happy for him and I am so expectant that mine is coming. But this has kept me in an awe position, as the whole scenario depicts lack of correlation between merit and success in this entity called Nigeria. WHAT A COUNTRY? So help us God! Thank God for your friend. 2:1 is good but does it mean every 2,1 graduate is necessarily better than everyone else ? Some people buy grades, you know! I've also seen a situation where a 3rd class graduate performed better than 2,2 and 2,1 in aptitude test. However, having a 2: 1 is better cos you have a lot of advantage. Try oil company, KPMG or any multi nationals. |

HonOlagrace: Its my first time working officially after Nysc, so I don't no if it's a crime to fall sick?
I fell sick(Malaria) on Wednesday around 9am@work,was able to manage myself till 1:30pm when my colleagues told me to go home when I couldn't cope. Got permission from the school's HM and left;was admitted at the hospital so I couldn't go to work yesterday but went today aganist the doctor 's advice that I still need to rest. Got to work today and was told that I was fired because I fell sick and was absent for a day & half.
My Question is, Is it a crime to fall sick when employed? They're not worth working for. To hell with some of these private organisations. |

My opinion Timi Dakolo got approval... |
Career › Re: He Was Too Loyal That Made Him So Stupid To The Boss, See Where It Landed Him by vislabraye(m): 11:22am On Mar 14, 2017 |
wapadunk: Thats not LOYALTY. That's selling your self on the cheap. There is a difference.Thats because you see no worth in yourself. You think you can only be hired through connection like some others.
No Self-esteem When you didn't value yourself Too much Humility sometimes relegate you, cause some egocentric people wants you to continue rubbing their ego while they relegate you to the dogs. . . I can never hire someone that doesn't value himself. Definitely he will sell my company on a cheap. I might just send him to secure a contract in another company, and the team from the other company will send him to buy snacks for them, while he runs around shamelessly, definely they wouldn't place him anywhere and negotiate with another person. They might even take him for a messenger. Knowing where you belong isn't pride.
Never sell yourself cheap all in the name of humility and loyalty. That's the point. On the other hand you'll hear people say that Nigerian graduates are too proud, they don't want to start poor, they want to be overnight bosses and so on. We need to know where to draw the line. I've done a job for 30k a month but the work I did was like over a hundred. After a year, my employer said he won't be able to afford that 30k a month. If I have to stay, I should take a pay cut. I had to leave. |

Not absolutely true !, People with good grades are still getting jobs especially if they read a marketable course. Just imagine getting a 1st class degree jn computer science or electrical engineering from a good school. Secondly, there are some businesses that demand millions as startup capital. |

Sanchez01: Most of you don't understand what you claim to stand for. The Spanish force is more brutal than the NPF on secessionists in Spain.
That they don't touch Nigerians there does not mean they're civil. Have any Catalan protest against Spain and such a person is gone. This is why Catalans have only the football pitches Barcelona play on as their only means of protest. The same applies to Basque. Both people have been silenced in Spain and the EU has turned a blind eye to it. As much as everyone has right to association, the world see separatists as rebels/terrors. Texas have been subjected to brutal tortures in the past just because they no longer want to be a part of the United States just as Catalan and Basque.
Kindly Google 'Catalan Genocide' to read a thing or two.
No Country takes secessionists with open arms. After reading to your satisfaction, kindly contact come back to brand Spain a Zoo. When did the Catalonia genocide take place . Definitely not in recent years. Correct me if I'm wrong. You make it sound as if it happened in the year 2000 till date. Everyone has the right to air his views. Some countries that are part if UK are even thinking of leaving. |
