You Chinese? Interesting. Are you full Chinese or half caste (half Nigeria, half Chinese)?

As a Chinese, which system of government do you propose will work well for a highly populated and vast country like China? Remember China has a very long political history to learn from.

Precisely, igbesachick ought to go and reeducate with regards history rather than relying heavily on malicious propaganda.

You are spot on with your analysis and i agree with you here.
I hate it when people impose their own personal biases on others. There is no one size fits all political system. What works for A might be a disaster for B.
Other advantages of the one party system is that it is more stable. In our own so called multi party democracy, a government official is elected in the middle of the year with a budget prepared and stolen by the previous government, by the time the new government settles down to even plan any programme, 2 to 3 years have passed by, the government abandons all programs and start stealing money for re election. In order words, very little progress can be accomplished in 8 years, before another set of politicians continue the cycle.
In China, the party holds its congress every 5 years and elects it's political officer holders based on performance. No money wasted and performance is actually criteria for political responsibility.

Multi party democracy is too acrimonious. While the ruling party struggles to build the country, the opposition struggles to sabotage the efforts of the rolling party. This ends up dividing the country along party, tribal, racial and economic lines. The country is almost always in a continuous state of political crisis. This is the situation in US, UK, Nigeria, israel and even France today.

China's one party system does not suffer such acrimonious political conflicts. All conflicts are settled within the party and never gets out.

If you truly understand China as you claim, you will understand that China would fail under a multi party democratic American style model. The one party system has been working for them for over 70 years. True it has its flaws, but it brought them out of economic doldrums within 30 years.

Looking at the world we live in today, democracy is an abject failure.

Currently, in the hands of the Chinese government, Communism is proving to be somewhat of a success.

Therefore, there is the need to device an immediate plan of action that includes exploring all options available to us.

Even if it involves scraping all foreign intellectual take on the ways of government, it really doesnt matter what type of government we settle for, as long as it is successfull, secure and consistent.
Don't mind him. China's one party structure has proven to be more effective that our useless so called multi party democracy. First of all it is far more cheaper to run. You don't spend billions of dollars every 4 years just to elect highly incompetent politicians. Money that can be used to improve the standard of living of the people.

Secondly, the system can never produce incompetent leaders like Buhari, Atiku, Jonathan, Aregbesola, etc, who have no vision or idea of how to administer a modern state. A senior political officer in China works his way up the ladder from local government party levels. Incompetent ones are thrown aside.

The Chinese do not discriminate, they persecute both Christians and muslims. The problem is Christians are able to compromise more that muslims. Muslims do not compromise their beliefs at all and so the government see them more as threat.

Dpharisee:
Christians in China don't carry out violent acts against the state, even the Catholic church had to reach a compromise with the communist Govt by appointing only Bishops approved by China from a list of Priests submitted from Rome to the Govt to be vetted. But there are some in the church leadership who don't approve of this approach leading to some level of division and dispute in the church.
There is still the underground church which faces persecution and not approved by the state, but they are not violent.

Muslims will not approve of this arrangement where only Govt vetted and approved Imams can administer mosques and lead the Ummah leading to continuing violent resistance. Some see it as attempt to dilute Islam.
China in turn forcefully send the resisting Muslims to reeducation camps where they are forced to either renounce Islam or accept the version the state see as non extreme and under state appointed Imams.

All in all, religious persecution is common in China and economic prosperity is not helping matters, because the country is advancing in all spheres without every citizen going to pray for development in churches and mosques like we do here.

The Chinese also think that giving total freedom to Christianity and Islam will lead to infiltration and destabilization by the West and Arabs led by America and Saudi Arabia working together.
You can't blame the Chinese, seeing the havoc caused by both Christianity and Islam in societies where they have taken root.

Religion creates a situation where adherents pledge allegiance to a religious leader (often a foreign one), than his home government. It's often creates a privileged priestly class that is often above the law.

I agree with lots of things you said.
See, I don't like Trumps manner of approach, his choice use of words , some of his his remarks about women but sir, i like his ability to see a tough goals and set out to achieve it. it takes someone who has trained his mind to do something like that especially in handling Iran, China and North Korea and to a lesser extent Russia and the Middle East within the same breath
You guys don't know Trump, I am sure 90% of his supporters only started knowing him the last few years before he declared for presidency. I have known him since the early 90's. I have a very close friend who loved Trump then and gave me his book to read. I even then disagreed with his philosophy of life as espoused by his book.

Trump's does not have any stance or position on any issue. He only says what people want to hear. He started out a democrat, then moved between independent and Republican, before settling for Republican. So you see his political views was very fluid. Trump was first strongly pro choice, then he switch to strongly pro life for the presidential campaign - https://www.google.com/amp/s/qz.com/1623437/trump-shifted-from-pro-choice-to-pro-life-as-he-planned-a-presidential-run/amp/

I really admire Trump, he is master of creating a persona that larger than life. I honestly have not seen other politician who commands so much control and adoration, and commands so much reverence by even his political party. He truly believes that if he committed murder in full glare of everyone, his supporters would still back him.

He is able to get everyone, including Forbes to believe he is a billionaire without any proof. He was able to have multiple extramarital affairs without any backlash. His Trump brand is just a brand, he sells the name "Trump hotel", it's difficult to know the real owners of his hotels and apartments.

There is a saying that it is easy to get to the top but very difficult to maintain being at the top.
America has a lot of debt because of unbalanced Trade deal with lots of it coming from China and to a lesser extent Europe, with China leveraging its technological prowness aided with low pricing or cost.

I do not see any other US (politician among those available) president willing to take "a bath " China in getting a fair deal. Sir, i give it to Trump.
Obama literally evaded trying to have a take on with China.
Trump's foreign policy is a disaster. Not that Obama's was much better, but Trump made things far worse.
Not that he does not have valid points in his various foreign policy views, but the way he is going about them have made worse an already bad situation.
Yes China has been cheating the world on trade and intellectual theft, but the way to go about it is not to go it alone. He should have built a coalition with EU, Canada and some other allies to squeeze China. The US can't do it alone. The trade war had been going on for a year now, and China has not bulged. In fact Trump is in a weaker position now and need to give concessions to China, because of the upcoming elections. Trump main selling point is the strong economy, the trade war is hiting both economies.

I never had any problem with Obama except in 2 areas which are not main stream.
The issue of trying to force same sex marriage is various countries including Nigeria using US aid as a leverage and giving Iran $150 M cash for concession of the nuclear program disarmament. That was not a sign of strength and his his negotiating ability was kinda low considering the high esteem Obama was held in.( Same sex marriage in US is what Obama should have concentrated on and leave other countries out of that equation.)
So i give it to Trump,
You guys do not understand the whole Iran deal. The deal was not done only with Obama's administration, but with other powers including Russia and China. Iran could not renege and the UN inspectors all confirm Iran was complying 100%. The 150 billion Obama paid Iran was not US money. It was Irans money seized after the 1979 revolution. Iran asked for it, and Obama gave it back. The deal was strictly to stop Iran developing nuclear weapons and it was effective. Trump would jump at the same deal if north Korea accept it.

Now north Korea has gone worse, they are still continuing to fire rockets and are preparing for a nuclear test.

That the US economy has always been the great is not true.
I had a slight exaggeration; the US has been the greatest economy for 100 years and not 150 as previously stated. The US became the world's dominant economy after WW1 - https://eh.net/encyclopedia/the-u-s-economy-in-the-1920s/

Well i want to say is from a political point of view ( when u consider most politicians don't usually fulfill their manifestos they roll out during campaign) Trump has practically done almost all he promised to do.
There is usually a huge difference between campaign promise and actually bring those promises to fruition. During campaign politicians tell people what they want to hear ie, I will build roads, I will build walls, I will give free medicals, they are usually thin on the hows. When they get to office, they soon realize that most of those promises are unrealistic or even undesirable. It would have even been easier in a dictatorship, but in a democracy, a president cannot take decisions (especially spend money) unilaterally.

in my view the only thing the common man can gain from any government is an improved and vibrant economy; and to me this is objective enough
The US economy had been vibrant since the 2008 economic crisis. In fact Obamas economic performance is more than Trump's in relative terms.

If you like we can compare economic indices between Obama years and Trump years and see which tops.

Nearly all politicians are going to:
abuse and or take advantage of power attached to their office,
appoint close friends and political/party associates in their cabinet.
leverage on their resources of their offices to get wealthy
put their family in advantage position for years to come.
Pelosi is doing same, Joe Biden did the same, Clinton did the same( the respect Bill Clinton because of the economy and i don't respect G . Bush because of the economy), and Trump is doing the same.
Yes agreed politicians abuse their powers to certain extent, but it should be within limits. It is wrong to give your daughter and daughter in law senior political positions ,having zero experience in government or politics. It's like Buhari appointing Zahra and her husband into senior position in Aso Rock. I am sure most Nigerians would kick against it.

If all politicians do it, then why are Trump and his supporters behaving as if Hunter Biden being a board member of a private company halal or harakiri. I am yet to understand the actual crime Hunter Biden is accused of.

Therefore the only yardstick i use to measure a good government is the economy.
that is why till tomorrow, I will always respect OBJ as far as Nigeria presidents are concerned.
he was better than all the rest as far as the economy is concerned. Did he steal money ?Yes. but Sir, that is irrelevant as far as the common man is concerned.
OBJ tried, but he too failed. He failed to improve infrastructure ;and no country can improve in the long term without infrastructure. He spent $16 billion on power and he did not improve the power sector. He imposes Yar'adua, a known dying man on us, plunging Nigeria into an avoidable crisis.

Obstruction is another kettle of fish which is irrelevant to delve into. Basically, the Mueller camp did not find Trump guilty of collusion. After investigations and trials, there is either a conviction or an acquittal and Grump was acquitted.

If you and your goons feel Trump colluded you’re free to pursue the matter in court. But as far as I am concerned Trymp has been exonerated kiss
How can the plaintive prove the case beyond reasonable doubt When the defendant refuse to come to court, refuse to allow witnesses to testify and refuse to hand over evidence in its possession. It's like murder suspect refusing to come to court to testify, refuse to allow actual witnesses to come to court to testify and keeps the murder weapon in his cupboard, but refuses to hand it over to the police. He then shouts "no evidence of murder" when the prosecution says they don't have enough evidence to prove murder beyond reasonable doubt.

Let me begin by bringing to ur attention a contradiction in ur piece. In fact it is one of several which I had in one of my previous post made known to u.

How can u not be disputing something yet u say that d same thing u aren't disputing is in contention?

B4 u call something "junk" or "trash", u should be able to provide info that negates what u call "junk" or "trash". 4d fact that u use those words to qualify d info I provided from Wikipedia doesn't validate what u have said that it is junk/trash & it doesn't prove that u are more knowledgeable than d authors in Wikipedia. What will validate ur claim that d info I lifted from Wikipedia is junk/trash, is when u provide superior argument backed up by facts. So far, u have fallen short over& over again. As far as science is concerned, d info I provided from Wikipedia remains valid until u can prove otherwise & am certain that u can't.

Now ur excuse that my answers is d motivation u need to substantiate ur claims is an escapist ploy which those who make baseless claims employ in order to save face. A millions answers from me can't help ur case. Do u no why? because u have nothing.

Once again u insisted that:

As I have asked several times, I ask again. Can u pls quote d law in d US that supports ur assertion? Obviously u can't because no such law exists. Like I also noted earlier, if such a law exists, it is a contradiction of d Morrill Anti-Bigamy Act. But u refused to openly accept that fact. I also provided u graphical evidence to show u d distribution of d legality of polygamous marriages around d world. But u seem to no more than d guys at wikipedia even though u cant prove it. But funny enough and characteric of u, u unwittingly contradicted urself when u said:

I wish u could help me answer ur question urself. So how do u want me to take u serious when u don't even no what u are saying?

With regards to your questions, in my last post, I called them "considerably unimportant" and pedestrian. D reason isn't far fetched. I tried providing u analogies to help ur understanding. Let's try it again.

D existence of a law criminalising an activity or activities doesn't in anyway mean that people will automatically cease from engaging in such activities. And for people to engage in those activities even though they haven't been punished doesn't mean that those people are operating within d law.

Whether d govt chooses to enforce a law or s frequency of enforcement doesn't in anyway mean d law doesn't exist. If in ur opinion d law isn't potent, doesn't negate d existence of d law. Is it every crime breaker in d US that is jail?

In terms of d potency of d law, pls read d following. I sent it to u b4 from Wikipedia but ur emotions beclouded ur sense of judgement. Now u are taking us back, asking questions even when d answers were right b4 ur eyes.

"United States: Polygamy is illegal in all 50 states[93] as well as federally according to the Edmunds Act. From about 1847 to 1857, in what is now the state of Utah, many Mormons practiced polygamy, which was widely condemned in the rest of the US. The US federal government threatened The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and made polygamy illegal through the enforcement of Acts of Congress such as the Morrill Anti-Bigamy Act".

Am sure u can see d word "enforcement" in d above. Start from where it says "The US government...".

Whether u choose to reply me or not is ur choice. Am not expecting much from u cos like I noted several times b4, u have run out of things to say
It's obvious you are arguing purely on emotional religious lines. You are failing to accept the fact that polygamy is practiced in the full public glare and the so called anti polygamy law is unenforceable.

I had lots of lawyer friends in my undergraduate days. They also told me that the bigamy laws in Nigeria is useless. It a law that's only on paper, it's unenforceable. It's very difficult to regulate what people do in the privacy of their own homes.

Read this report;

Is Polygamy Illegal in the United States

Over the last few years there have been a number of television shows regarding the polygamist lifestyle. This has led some to wonder whether polygamy may be legal anywhere in the U.S. It also raises questions about why bigamy is outlawed and whether this is a trend that may be changing.

Currently, every state has a law outlawing polygamy. Additionally, the federal government has several laws that also criminalize the act of being married to more than one person. Enforcement of these laws is relatively difficult given the often secretive nature of many polygamists and the fact that most will have only one marriage on paper. As a result, many of these laws attempt to target those who cohabit with more than one member of the opposite sex. But, these laws are problematic given the increase in those who may have multiple roommates of mixed genders.

Many of these laws arose in the 19th Century, often in response to what was seen as a
moral threat posed by Mormonism. Because many of these laws are based on purely moral grounds , they are increasingly subject to challenge in the courts using similar arguments as those that have been used to decriminalize homosexual acts and legalize same-sex marriages.

More recently, a federal judge ruled that the language used in Utah's anti-bigamy laws were too vague to be enforceable. They were once based on the notion that people of opposite genders would not cohabit without engaging in a committed romantic relationship akin to marriage. But the modern realities are very different, leaving such laws anachronistic, an invasion of the privacy of those targeted with prosecution, a violation of their First and Fourteenth Amendment rights, and unconstitutional both as written and applied.

Now there's nothing to contest & I guess u just remembered that d thread is about gay & not polygamy. But here u are saying this:

U seem to have run out of things to say. Nobody is contesting whether there are polygamous families or not. D question is whether it is legal or not. But in ur argument, u said d legality of polygamy is contingent on d issuance of marriage licenses. But in d end u couldn't prove where that provision was made for in d Morrill Anti-Bigamy Act.

Also, d thread isn't just about gay issue. It reflects d hypocrisy of d US ambassador & d US govt that criminalises polygamy but at d same criticises African countries for criminalising homosexuality. Whether Americans throw people in jail or not, polygamy is a criminal offense which jail time is attached to. And this is what has discouraged many from practicing it in d US since d 19th century
You are just arguing here and there without any real logic. You are harping "polygamy is a criminal offense in the US" and so many families are displaying their polygamous lives on TV and on YouTube without anyone going to jail.
Sister Wives has been running for 15 years and non of the wives or husband is in jail.
The family even took the state of Utah to court over the legality of the state's polygamy laws, which they believe is against their rights. Although the courts dismissed the case, it did not called for them to be jailed.
Here is what the court said in its ruling;
The Tenth Circuit concluded that because local Utah prosecutors had a policy of not pursuing most polygamy cases in the absence of additional associated crimes (e.g., welfare fraud or marriage of underage persons), the Browns had no credible fear of future prosecution and thus lacked standing.
You seem to have personal hatred for polygamy (and Homosexuality), but that's your personal problem. Others have been practising it in the open, even in the US without fear of going to jail.

KanuSE:
There are polygamous families in the US.
The percentage of Americans who find polygamy to be morally acceptable has more than doubled since 2001, according to new results of a Gallup survey tracking opinions on key moral issues since the early 2000s. In 2001, only 7 percent of Americans deemed polygamy morally acceptable. Now, 16 percent say they do not find it objectionable.

Is polygamy a serious contender for the next moral and constitutional marriage debate in the United States? Will the legalization of same-sex marriage actually open the door for plural marriage as some of its opponents have argued, or is there a limit to polygamy’s seemingly meteoric rise in acceptability?

Polygamy is still far from popular but support for the practice is gathering quiet momentum and its moment could arrive sooner than anticipated. Writing for The New York Times last weekend, conservative columnist Ross Douthat predicted that polygamy could be legalized in the United States as soon as 2040, given the rate of change in its acceptance.

Rough estimates place the polygamous population in the U.S. somewhere between 50,000 and 100,000 people, chiefly in Muslim and fundamentalist Mormon families. Basic moral acceptance from 15 percent of Americans does not necessarily translate into political advocacy for an extremely small population that already exists on the religious margins of the U.S.

Are u aware that polygamy is criminalised in d US d same way homosexuality is criminalised in Zambia? Does d US ambassador to Saudi Arabia bother himself with how Saudi Arabia treats homosexuals?
False.
You can marry multiple wives in the US as long as you don't have multiple marriage license.

You cannot marry 2 women through the courts in Zambia and collect 2 marriage licences also, but you can marry one woman through the courts and marry 20 through customary marriage.

I knew someone will toll this line when the issue of incest comes up and you didn't disappoint.
Replace incest with homosexuality in those statements of yours and you will see how it also fit in. The case of incest destroying the basis of the society is also true for homosexuality as the end result for both is continuous decrease in the population of a society.
Different results. No comparison at all between incest and Homosexuality. Incest produces genetically deflective and weak offsprings, Homosexuality produces no offsprings. It's like barrenness, it produces no offsprings.

Homosexuality results in decrease in population? That's taking your imagination too far? It's is infertility, barrenness and career women who starts having kids late (that is if they have kids at all), that can be responsible for decrease in population. Actually, Africa and the world actually need a decrease in population right now. Prior to the last 70 years, the countries of the world were always at war, with millions killed. Also prior to the last century, diseases like malaria, leprosy, flu, and plagues decimated human population. Now, all these are no more.

How many percent of the world population (even in the west) claim to be exclusively homosexual, majority are bi-sexual.

Your submissions are to weak to attract my attention. But I will to the bolded to help you take a walk.
So you care about procreation?
So you are concerned that abnormal sexual act like incest brings infinitesimally weak offsprings; then I ask you, WHAT TYPE OF OFFSPRING DOES HOMOSEXUALITY BRING?
Homosexuality has no chance of producing offsprings. Sexual acts is not only for procreation, unless you are insinuating that people should have sex only a few times in their lifetimes.

Homosexuality can act as some of population control mechanism.

According to d story u shared, some women went to court. Can u pls state d reason they went to court?
This is the full report;
A federal judge ruled late Friday that a key section of Utah law criminalizing polygamy is unconstitutional, granting multi-spouse families the right to live together without facing arrest, so long as they do not acquire multiple marriage licenses.

U.S. District Court Judge Clark Waddoups ruled Utah's criminalization of cohabitation violated the due process and First Amendment religious freedom rights of the Brown family, which includes husband Kody Brown and his four wives.

The Browns are fundamentalist Mormons and the stars of TLC show "Sister Wives." They chose to leave their home in Lehi, Utah, after local police and prosecutors launched an investigation into their lifestyle in 2010. Before moving to Las Vegas, a deputy Utah County attorney said, "The Browns have definitely made it easier for us by admitting to felonies on national TV."

The Brown family's attorney, George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley, praised the ruling as a landmark in the legal history of individual rights.

You guys use stupid analogies to push your religious believes on others

xpool:
Consent and mutuality do not establish bases for legality. Brother and sister, mother and son, father and daughter who are all adults can engage in consensual sex, yet it is called incest taboo.
Incest is frowned upon, because it can destroy the very basis of society. An incestuous society will eventually become a weak and unhealthy society, ie ancient Egypt. Incest was one of the reason for the demise of ancient Egyptian civilization.
Even people breeding animals make sure to avoid Incest.

A married man or woman can have sex with partners who are not their spouses, it encouraged by you?
So. This has been happening before human history, this is happening today and it will happen in the future - nothing you can do about it.

An adult can chose to walk nude to his office, ask lawyers the offence he committed. Two normal adults can decide to tgo to he market or any public place and have sex in broad daylight, I hope you can accept that since it is consensual.
These infringe on the sensibilities of the public. Your rights stops where others starts.

Homosexuality s abnormal, gays are people with special needs, they need clinical psychologists.
To you it is abnormal, to others it can be normal. Are you a psychologist or even a gay to know the psychology of gay people. Show me the scientific review paper to support your claim.

There’s nothing wrong with a host country asking its guest nation to change their ambassador for not respecting the law of their land....
it’s not like Zimbabwe went against its own rule of law..it’s actually legal to jail someone for ramming dic into his follow man’s azzz ....

.why is the west trying to be saint in these issues??....the 14years in prison was copied from the Uk..it’s not even up to 15years the uk dripped the law in Scotland..
.when AFRICA is ready to be adopt more liberal laws..we would..until then, no nation that enslaved its fellow man should not come and blackmail us with foreign aid just because they want us to adopt their laws on sexual matters
Ok. But then, why are you against sharia law. Since you support making laws based on religious beliefs. Thieves should have their hands cut off. Even the Christian religion says any part of your body that causes you to sin should be cut off. Adulterers should be stoned to death. Blasphemers should be hanged.

Africans and their priorities!
