spassion:I honestly believe integration is key, just as integration was key to the economic success of Europe. Europe's problem is attempting to change economic integration into political integration. First, we should fight corruption. Second, become a force to reckon with, economically and politically. Third, be self sufficient, self reliant and a powerhouse.Yes we must fight or at least reduce corruption, but we must recognise that it is a difficult task. This is because of inherent landmines laid by the colonialists at independence. The elections and census issues we are grappling with today were foundation laid by the colonialists. They rig politicians who promote their interests and sabotage their country’s interest into power, and kill any renegade politician that attempt to go against their interest. They are responsible for perpetuating sit tight leaders for decades. Under these conditions becoming a force to reckon with, economically and politically is very difficult How can we be self sufficient, self reliant and a powerhouse, when the countries themselves were set up to depend on the colonialists. The countries were set up to provide raw materials for European industries, and provide a ready market for their finished goods. This is how the economies of colonial west and central Africa was set up. Unlike when we tried to help South Africa and Ghana, they came back throwing it to our face. Those french Africans would also do the same in the short or long run.South African and to some extent Ghana are not our brothers, they are separate people of separate tribes and language. Benin republic, Chad, Niger and Cameroon share the same people. It is difficult separating the eguns and Tapa of Benin Republic from their Yoruba brothers. Same with Fulanis in Nigeria from their Daura brothers. Ditto for Bakassi and adama adamawa. People are still accusing Atiku of being Cameroonian instead of Nigerian. The colonialists used language, currency and force to separate these people. If we become a force to reckon with, like China and Brazil that cannot be left out of any political and economic decision, then we can look further into integration those junkyards like Benin, Niger and Cameroon, because at that point, we can prove to them that black people can also become something without France or any western poo. Just as the Chinese, Indonesians and Brazilians have proved themselves. The fact is that all these countries are already a heavy burden on the Nigeria economy. We already subsidise their fuel, we provide them power, these countries in fact depends heavily on the Nigeria economy to survive. The worse is they all pose huge security risk, as Nigeria has been attacked through these country's borders one time or the other. So it makes sense to strategically integrate them. |
Emescot:My bad. Apologies. The guy should be honoured not just by Nigerians, but internationally too. I know the various governments do not value acts of genuine sacrifice. They are only interested in political and financial gains. The poster is a good promoter of whatever religion he professes. It's the greed and wickedness of so called worshippers of God that turn most people to atheism. If the effects of God cannot reflect in your life, what's the point of worshipping that God. If not everyone that materialism and enjoyment in heaven appeals to or even the treats of hell. |
Emescot:I disagree with the redded quote. The person that has stayed the longest would have an entitlement mentality. He or she would feel he/she build the school and feels you are a spoilt kid who is not qualified or entitled to be his/her boss. You either get a relatively new staff or hire new staff with experience in school management. |
Jayess:Sorry to say, but all you wrote is bullshit. Talking apologetically to some you pay salaries who disrespect you? That's a recipe for management and business failure. Please grab a book by Robert Greene called "48 laws of power" you will learn a lot there. Most of those giving management seminars had never ran a successful business. They most probably read a book and spew out the theories they learn in it. As much as I am not a fan of Trump, he is a genius on managing people. He get everyone who works for him to be loyal to him and his course. His main problem to me is financial mismanagement and his flamboyant lifestyle. You have to learn to be the boss without being bossy. You need to learn the art of using the carrot and stick. |
CSTR2:Taken for granted that Buhari does not know what is going on ,what of Emefiele. This falls within the jurisdiction of the CBN, and it's the central bank governor that should be pushing for a precise policy. Afterall monetary policy is the exclusive purview of the CBN. |
I have run different companies for the past 20 years. Present on run a business i have 12 people on my pay roll, so when I talk I am talking with experience. Now repeat after me... I am the boss I am the boss I am the boss After that sinks in and you now believe that you are boss and final responsibly for the business lies with you, start behaving like the boss. Anyone that challenge your authority or defy your official instruction should be fired. Tell your mom, that you are the boss, and the responsibility for the success or failure of the business lies on your head. You need to change key senior management staff, like the head teacher. Since you are young and inexperienced, the tendency is for staff to remain loyal to the senior management staffs, and they would be trying to undermine your authority. Carry out a recruitment exercise or at least threaten to carry one out. There are tons of applicants looking for jobs. You will even be overwhelmed by the turnout. The old staff would see that hundreds are ready to take their place and start feeling threatened, they feel too comfortable and secure. After all these try and communicate with the staffs directly, always ask them their opinions before taking major decisions. Also try and give some incentives no matter how small, to loyal and hard workers. |
hollowpot15684:You are the one that said "Whether you like it or not God is in COZA." Now tell us where God is not? Is God not in your home? |
NGpatriot:Apart from one traveling in the air and the other on road, what's the difference? Are they not both a means of public transportation? 2. The governor is not FAAN in charge of the airline industry, he controls what's within his domain, not outside his domain.Ok, what of other things within his control, like taxis, buses, schools, parks, markets, etc. Should women also no be completely segregated from men in all public spaces? |
spassion:As I said above, we have no choice but to do all within our power to integrate them. WE ARE SURROUNDED BY THEM Besides, they are our fellow brothers and sisters that have divided us. Half of Benin Republic are Yorubas, they also have big fulani population. Same with Niger and Chad, they have huge fulani population. Cameroon too has huge igbo population, but French policy has been able to effectively isolate them from their igbo kith and kins in Nigeria. The same strategy adopted by Nigeria to isolate other not south east igbos from their main kith and kins. Nigeria's main problem is corruption.Don't you think this is a function of the colonial structure and policies put in place by the colonialists? If we can put our house in order, Nigeria can surpass France and even the so called selfish Britain, I classify them as parasites, just there to milk Africa.Agreed, but you need certain criteria to be able to put your house in order, like infrastructure, practical education, good government structure, etc. All these things the colonialists made sure we lacked. Look at Brazil for example compared to Portugal. Brazil was also colonized by Portugal, but today, Brazil is a giant beside Portugal.Brazil had different colonial experience. They actually colonised (killed the inhabitants and replaced them with their own people ), they only governed our people (indirectly). Few white men agreed to come and settle in West Africa. So they governed indirectly by pitting us against each other, and creating an elitist class that they can govern us indirectly by. |
Dedetwo:Did the Keke ban law exempt wives? |
MrPolitics:Is that so? So the lady sitting behind him and the other women in the plane are his wives also? Now tell me, is there a law in Islam than ban a man and a woman sitting in the same car, chair or space? |
spassion:Nigeria cannot afford to dump the idea of integrating the so called french west Africa, simply because we are completely surrounded by them. I feel very uncomfortable being surrounded by vassal states of France. We have a huge advantage in that most of these countries share the same tribe with Nigeria, ie Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis, and even igbos. We can use tribal and cultural links to try and reach them. The advantage France has is language, the CFA currency, economic aid and military aid. If we had gotten our acts together, we would have challenged France in those items. |
HallaDaTruth:You people and your Don Quixotic dreams. how is Biafra the hope of the entire black race, when it's so tiny in terms of landmass and even population? Even if we accept all the unrealistic lands added by the igbos, it's still in significantly tiny, when compared to other black nations. How can Biafra be the hope of the entire black race, when the igbos - the main promoters of Biafra have poor relations or no relations at all with other black or even non black nations. How many blacks nations would support the igbos in anything? Biafra, a nation that was only sustained for less than 3 years would the hope of black man, when other ancient nations like Ethiopia is there that had never been colonised or conquered by foreign powers. |
JOHNSONSOLAFUNMI:I wish I can like your post a million times. Africans are too blinded by greed, shortsightedness, impatience and religion to realize that our real enemies are outsiders and not our fellow neighbours. African countries were created by colonialists to always be in a state of perpetual conflicts. They usually lump countries with many independent and autonomous tribes together, not in one country but spread over many countries, and then give power in those countries to minority tribes A conflict in one country by minority tribes has impact in other countries with that tribe as majority. This model was even adopted by African leaders in creating states. This is one reason, I tell my Biafran and other separatist brothers that dismemberment of Nigeria would play into the French agenda. They would be the single most powerful force in West Africa. As dysfunctional as Nigeria is, we are still the main treat to French domination of West Africa. It is obvious boko haram has strong external backings. There is no way that boko haram can hold the whole of West Africa to ransom (in an open desert), without powerful external help, given high definition satellite imagery, sophisticated drones and soldiers on the ground by France and the US. |
yeyeosoronga:I am shocked you are talking like this, it shows empathy is dead in Nigeria. What is the primary responsibility of any hospital, private or public? I had thought it was to save lives or at least to alleviate pain. Are you insinuating that private hospitals in Nigeria are not expecting to provide first aid? I had also thought the hippocratic oath to which they swear is to save life and alleviate sufferings. I never knew it was to make money at the expense of suffering patients. |
ukahrawah:I vehemently disagree. It's the people that run the system. A corrupt people running a good system would ruin the sysrem and would fail, a good people running a corrupt system would eventually improve the system and succeed. |
Faccouk:Is not Nigeria that is the problem, it's the people. A people that values prosperity irrespective of source as against love, honesty and honour, is bound to breed wickedness. |
frndfghtr:And how do those that know how they come to existence fare? Are you better than those that don't know how they came to existence. Did the callous Policemen and doctors that refuse to help a dying victim even though that's their main responsibility not know how they came to existence? Did the armed robbers that wickedly maimed the poor girl not know how the came to existence? In fact 99% of Nigerians claim to know how they came into existence, but they are the most wicked and heartless people on the face of the earth. The Okada Driver and Keke marwa guy are one in a million. I doubt they are even Christian or muslims, as these religions are more interested in power and wealth than helping fellow humans. |
hollowpot15684:Is he imprisoned there? You mean God is absent in all other places, including your home. |
Efe42:I feel sad that our youths refuse to wake up from their slumber and smell the coffee. The reality is that there is no job out there waiting for you, we are no longer in the 70s, 80's or even 90s, in the 21st century, you create jobs and not search for jobs. Any course or degree that cannot equip you to create jobs is as useless as the K in knife. How many people can Oando and Total combined hire? What is even their total staff strength? What is the total number of people employed in the oil industry by IOCs. Outside contract staff, I doubt the total number is up to 5,000. I am talking about Total, chevron, Agip, Mobil, shell (shell has basically left Nigeria ) and the few indigenous oil companies. Meanwhile, you have millions of graduates dreaming of working in the oil industry. Ordinary 4,000 positions advertised by immigration, and 6.5 millions youths turned up. The job seekers were so much that stadiums in Nigeria could not contain them. This was in 2014. And you are crying over a few open positions in total and Oando. Do you know how many applicants applied, many with superior qualifications? Even ordinary Dangote truck driver's positions, over 500 PHD holders applied. You should even consider the rejections a blessing in disguise. It mean you should either start using the knowledge and skills you spent time and money acquiring at the university to create sellable goods or services, or go to acquire further knowledge and skills if you have not acquired enough. Read the story of some of the most successful entrepreneurs in Nigeria like Tony Elumelu and Jimo Ibrahimo, they were rejected by multiple companies until they use their skills to create wealth. |
Aidejay:Islamic event too far, ask am about Catholic event. Imagine his reaction is his face is used to promote a Catholic event without his knowledge. Shebi catholics are also Christians, even though the pentecostals hate them. Same way pentecostals hate cele, jehova witness and other non pentecostal Christians. Pentecostal Christianity seems to be the most intolerant of the Christian denominations, they are equivalent of Islamic ISIS. The want to impose their doctrines of others by force. |
Why limit it to tricycles, does Ganduje have beef against tricycle or tricycle operators? What about cabs, should male and female enter the same taxi? Taxis are crammed with 2 in front and 4 at the back in the north. What of buses, why should the ban not be applicable to buses? What of planes? Should men and women enter the same plane? Nigerian airlines often cram their seats like kabu kabu. Will Ganduje himself enter plane with females on board? |
China successfully launched a satellite into space a few hours ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lc-RfXjERqg |
garetz:You guys are deaf, dumb and blind. Even fox news have acknowledged that the payments were not illegal, but rabid Trump worshippers never listens to facts. The cash was money seized from Iran since the 1979 revolution Before the 1979 revolution, Iran’s shah had paid $400 million for American military goods but, after he was overthrown, they were never delivered. The clerics who seized control demanded the money back, but the United States refused. The additional $1.3 billion is interest accumulated over 35 years. An initial reimbursement was released after the Iran deal was implemented and to help secure the release of American hostages. |
garetz:It's an illegal transaction and the Republican controlled house did not even have an impeachment hearing, not to talk of impeachment, and the Republican controlled senate did not remove Obama? |
garetz:You are a clown I swear. Did CNBC, WSJ and Bloomberg claim that Trump's First 3 years posted superior figures than Obama's first 3 years in relative terms? I never claimed to be a financial guru, so I had no idea of what bellwether index is, but a simple Google search will reveal your claim that s&p 500 index for the first 3 years of Trump is superior to Obama's is false. |
igbesachick:Please how can you be Chinese and still be enemy of china? You can be enemy of the current government, but to be enemy of your country is crazy. Maybe you are from Hong Kong, Tibet or Xinjiang, Uyghur. |
garetz:Now you are shifting stadium and not just goal posts. This was your claim; garetz:And I gave you proof that you lied, the s&p 500 did better under Obama, now you are showing links talking about Bellwether index (whatever that is) gaining more than 28% this year. |
garetz:Lies, lies and more lies. Trump supporters just like him are peddlers of lies. Below is the historical data of S&P500 for the last 10 years. When Obama was sworn in January 2009, S & P 500 averaged 948.5 points, 3 years later 2011, it was 1267.64, that's a 33% increase. When Trump was sworn in January 2017, S & P 500 averaged 2449.08 points, this year 2019, it is 2909.54 . That's just an 18% increase. So who doubled who? As I said, Obama beat Trump on every economic indice in relative (not absolute ) terms.
|
igbesachick:Who is your enemy and who mentioned China greatness? You translator is doing a horrible job, change translator software. It's making you talk off point. |
That's true. Does it make sense that men and women are barred from entering the same Keke, but the driver can be male while carrying female passengers. It just doesn't make sense. |
