generationz: Melinda was seeing other men too when they were dating. I believe it was more of a business marriage than for love. That's why they lasted so long and achieved a lot together. I see. Makes more sense now. |

Design103: Hanty, sometimes tis just good to read everything and then ask questions after.
Bill told his wife about the arrangement before they got married. It was even a deal breaker for him and the wife accepted. I'm not a lady. I read everything. You're the one who simply did not understand my submission. |

McStoic: Someone like me anyways, I don't make a rule I cannot keep. That being said, I don't subscribe to hanging around my exes after breaking up. Not that I am enemies with them, it's a matter of basic principle and common sense.
Now talking about men being allowed the privilege, this is a very rare case. The wife approved it for another reason not probably disclosed herein. Finally, a man knows how to relate with a woman without mixing emotions. As in keep her where she belongs. Few women's can pull it off, men are more adept to it.
No be everything una go dey compare men and women. I don't condone infidelity ooo, but even in infidelity men are more gracious than women. Go figure!! There's nothing like more gracious in infidelity, sir. Thanks for the response. |

ekineme: You don't get the point, From the write up, you can deduce that ''Bill'' draws inspiration from that lady, though he loves his wife but the ideas, motivation and feeling of sharing your dreams with someone of ''like-minded'' can never be traded for anything.
Do they indulge in adultery? The write up didn't state that, so it's wrong to assume they did.
The wife is aware of this friendship, she is ok with it, The said lady was part of his greatness.
I hate it when people throw away years of friendship because they want to please a very insecure fellow.
For me the code is simple; respect and honor your wife and the holy matrimony but don't trade your friends for anything. The article didn't say if they cheated or not thus my first question. I also don't subscribe to the idea of people cutting off friends after marriage. But my comment is based on the fact this is a privilege only the men get to enjoy. If it were the woman who was jetting around with her ex, people won't be here talking about inspiration and stuff. She would have been labeled a cheat outrightly. In fact, a typical Nigerian man wouldn't even want his lady to have any male friend let alone spend quality time with an ex. We're only making these exceptions and remembering inspiration cause the spotlight is on the man. |

In Québec and Toronto, I pay $49.95/mo for unlimited home internet plan (comes with tv). My prepaid subscription for mobile comes with 1G which I don't get to use these days cause I'm either at home, at work, at a friend's place or somewhere where there's WiFi for public consumption like restaurants, train stations, salons, etc.
I don't really think you'd get a good understanding of internet cost by just looking at the purchasing prices in different countries cause economy also matters. Money is what money can buy and figures alone don't say much. For example, you'd need to know what people earn as income in these countries, the cost of other things in the country, etc. before you can say if something is really expensive or not. |
Education › Re: 5 Things We Learnt In Secondary School That Are Now Useless by WoundedLamb: 4:42am On May 05, 2021 |
I don't know how you'd ever imagine that certain topics are useless simply cause you don't use them in your field. Your reason for calling number one useless does not even make sense. So just because you grew older and understood it was just an alternative formula, it has become useless? How on earth would the knowledge of long/lat ever become useless in a world where location based services are fast becoming the order of the day? Ask any average programmer around you what HTML Geolocation API is and how it uses long/lat coordinates. Even the Google map you mentioned is developed and supported by people who work everyday with basic knowledge of long/lat. Why not also tell us that basic arithmetic has become useless since we now have calculators. It's like some people grow and forget they know what they know cause of the foundation they had and the building block of knowledge accumulated over the years. |

Meanwhile, see them above always quick to justify any shit from men. Imagine if the woman was the one jetting around with her ex here. It would have been "women! They can never be trusted". Sense of objectivity has been eroded by sexism. |

ShadowCracker: Yeah especially with the way the Dollar-Naira rate has been increasing during this Buhari's tenure, you definitely won't lack money.
But if I were you I would definitely not relocate to Nigeria at least for the nearest future, the country is currently going through different internal crises, Up North you have Boko haram, Iswap, and bandits terrorizing everywhere, down the east and west the people are strongly agitating for secession.
The country is such a mess , so please Biko stay where you are . Yeah, you're right! Judging from what I read here and what I see on TV, the situation of things over there has become scary. I've never really lived in Nigeria but I visit occasionally, and things weren't these bad the last time I was there... or maybe I was just in vacation mode. I can only say bon courage to you guys (sorry, I don't know how best to translate that into English, lol). Thanks for the tips! |

ShadowCracker: Well if you look at it in the Dollar to Naira way, but remember Nigerians don't earn in dollars.
To be fair though food is generally cheap especially in less developed or rural areas. Yeah, doing such comparisons without considering income would be like comparing objects of two different unrelated classes without any interface. That's why I added in my post that I'd like to live there while still working in North America. That way, I'd be spending just a fraction of my income in Naira. Lol. It's good to know those who live in such areas have got something going for them. |

ifyken: you Know it is actually a crime in Nigeria to be gay good luck Jonathan made that. so as they say when you are in Rome behave like the Romans Yes, I know it was criminalized and it's that criminalization that I'm saying is irrational. "When you go to Rome, behave like the Romans" is very beautiful saying. But these guys in question did not go to Rome in this case, they are Romans themselves. Telling them to behave like the Romans simply reflects the idea that you are the ideal Roman and they should behave like you. But the truth is, you're not any more Roman than these guys are. They are just as Roman as you and I, and they have nowhere else to go to. We must be considerate if not empathetic in the way we deal with differences in Africa. Because these guys are the minority, everyone thinks it's okay to reduce fellow human beings to nothingness. That's just not fair. |

Thereddevil: I think from this post, women naturally expect their husbands to die before them and men also feel the same.. They put their wives and kids as next of kin cos they think they're gonna die first.. It's not so easy being a man, while you struggle to enrich your home with financial aid and happiness, you definitely know it's taking away your life so quickly, but a man gotta be a man.. This is simply cause men marry women who are younger than themselves. No rocket science here. |

Don't they get sacked for sleeping in these churches.? Are they all HOUSEWIVES? what about their kids? In whose custody did they leave their kids? GUYS be mindful of the Lady you plan to take your alter. Make sure you align yourself with a lady that has got ambition. The TIMES In Nigeria will definitely get more difficult. NO soul will ever employ such humans abroad. They will kill your establishment. As if it's only women that work there. |
