Yup at oakbend for my daughter they gave me that birth certificate. Haven't used it to do anything though.

There is Wifii, there is a photographer and freebies (I got diapers, wipes, pad, formular, blankets, some baby onesies, cap and socks), breast milk storage containers and some coupons I never used
(Started pumping in the hospital cuz of jaundice - hence the storage bottles)
- the formula they gave me was ready to drink, the already liquified ones in small bottles.

P.s all these things we call freebies are already billed into the cost and is not actually free

Gwinnett is faaaaar more expensive so temper expectations

Well, generally it was ok, but i have def seen better, no feem ooo my sister, they forced us to sleep ni o, lmao, its sad, if they cant fix minor issues like entertainment, only God knows, but the consolation is its a night flight, i avoid eating anything other bread in most flights, so i cant rly say much about the food.
They kept to time, which was super awesome.

In the spirit of .............
Lol. Was directed to get fit to fly at the airport, though i had one from my hosp, a rly nice lady attended to me, i was charged 1200.
POE- Jfk 16th Nov
Arik air- it is terrible to have no form of entertainment ooo. But no stop over comforted me
The queue moved fast as we landed around 5.30am. Was directed to a Lady, n i just said, chei, women n wahala n said i need it stressfree Lord in my mind.

Officer- what r u here for?
Me- vacation n childbirth
Officer- who are you staying with?
Me- a friend.
Officer- how do u intend to pay?
Me- cash
Officer- how much do u have with u?
Me-$10k
Officer- u should have ticked yes where it asked if u had 10k
Me- i said it stated if u have OVER 10k but i have 10k on the dot
Officer- smiles, how many kids do u have and did u have them here?
Me- this is my 3rd Child, yes i had them all here. (I even thought she would ask for reciepts, i had them handy)
Officer-What do u do? ........
Officer-When last did you come n how long did u stay?- last sept for vacation. Spent 12days
Officer- how long do u intend to stay 14wks
Fingerprinted only my right 4 fingers, no pics taken. Stamped B2- 6mnths.
I asked, dont i need to do the finger print of the 2nd hand n take pic, she said nope maam, u r good to go.
Had all documents handy, but didnt need to show any.

To be honest, it was faster than when i just come for vacation. God's favour n Honesty is the key. I didnt declare for my other kids, but i bumped into this thread n decided to try declaring, i did n it felt good.
Thanks to all the Mamas that contribute here.

Saw another Nairaland mum, though we didnt get the chance to talk much. If you r reading this, goodluck love. I wish u a very safe n easy delivery.

So i think this is worth sharing. I learnt Sterling bank was giving PTA from this forum and decided to open an account, so i can atleast save some money buying at 199 compared to BDCs 227... Anyways i opened the account and a week later, i won 50k... lol... Apparently they randomly pick from new acc holders. That was really nice. Not always so lucky at winning stuff... Guess my baby is an Akorede( bringer of gifts and wealth).

I wish i could leave at 35wks like some of you guys, but i always suffer preterm contractions n i had a weak cervix in my last preg. I was 3cm dialated from 6mnths n it had to be managed, taking steroid shots et al. Well it is inly wise i go early again.
Kisses to all the LOs

I and everyone I know bought a one way ticket without passport. Which airline asked u to buy a return ticket?
I was asking like i said im confused about the ETC.

@mamatukwas- i understand, one thing i have learnt so far is that we all have varying experience in similar circumstances. May God direct us all

@Shelly, Note- i have gotten a bassinnet aboard delta without paying for economy comfort. They said its a first come, first serve basis. They changed my seat at the counter. But maybe buying off the seats like u said, can make it sure

@bestnews yea, try the embassy, they can scan or fax it, i remember when i was stuck in a similar situation they asked me to do that, but it was christmas period n the embassy was on hols here. I explained to them on the phone and they gave my baby a temporary passport that could last for 3 yrs or an option of me changing it to the regular 5yr passport in the Nig embassy for free with the amended consent form, if i do this within one year of recieving the pp.
Let ur wife call the passport office
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by yokus(f): 3:04pm On Oct 30, 2015
I agree, i was surprised to see sm1 say it increased cos Dr. Soyoola emailed me and the price looks the same, except for the addition of scan.
The price i paid in Gwinnet in 2010 is not to different from what i paid in 2013, the difference was the additional charge my baby staying in NICU for 24hrs.i had difficulty replying ur pm dear.
Anyways im trying Houston for this missionary journey cos my friend delivers about the same time as me. I hope i get similar or even better service at OMC

I used Gwinnett and Dr soyoola last year. A friend used them this year June and d bill was almost the same. I don't think it's expensive
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by yokus(f): 5:56am On Oct 29, 2015
You are right, he is patient, probably cos he is a lil elderly, but wait, this one that every1 is saying expensive n i was feeling Gwinnet is moderately priced, biko, how much does Emory, n the other hosp collect, i felt Northside was expensive, cos Gwinnet gvs 40% off if paid in full n on time. (@ola)

Though expensive- Very good Doctor, had a nice experience at Gwinnett too
@OlaGirl- i know a good Dr in Atl but i dont rly understand the new policies here oo. I used him for my 2 kids, though im porting to Tex for the 3rd, i would have used him a 3rd time. I tnk i have seen his name here before Dr.Soyoola. google him for more info i guess.

#Neks dont worry all will be well. Though mine was not a 9ce experience. I had a 30cm ovarian cyst filled wt 3ltrs of fluid and cud burst anytime. While the baby was 10cm, i had to do a surgery at 5mths to get it out as it was getting bigger and feeding itself on preg hormones.

Yours wont come to that by God's grace, the most important thing is that mother n Child r fine atbthe end of the day. That was the scariest period for me. My baby is hitting big number 2 soon.

Sorry about the pain, but no need to freak out, all will be well. Right from the inception of my pregnancy i had cyst, infact it was the pain that led me to discover i was pregnant. I had 8 in my right ovary and 5 in the left, you can imagine my agony then, every night i end up in er, i .....
Yes ma,
But it's 5 cents a min to Naija so I never bothered with calling card, just topped up my ultramobile wallet or intl up credit online using my access bank visa card and voila! I can dial direct.

I spent less than $15 month on international calls, and texting is free.

The whole calling one number to dial naija using code on calling cards (Raza and Boss) was just tiring for me.

Did u do any of the bundles? And is it asides the bundle payment per month you will buy intl top up. Sorry. I dnt rly understand, i am on the website n i can see diff bundles.

To pay oakbend in advance:

There's no safe Poe o... Just pray, be honest, be prepared and confident.

Goodluck

Thank you firstymummy... ehugs. Yea i figured, read bout the Law online and was just wondering. I was not asked either on my 2missionary trips but i am trying to keep up incase anything has changed.

GoodMorning y'all,
I heard that the maximum amount you can legally carry from Nig is $5000 due to some new laws (pls correct me if im wrong... i am curious).
Is there a way to pay Oakbend in advance from Nigeria,? So that i will have a reciept to show at POE so i dont carry more than the legal limit from Nig. Been trying to call them so i could provide my email for some form of correspondence but it keeps going straight to voicemail.
I wish to use either Dr A or F. Read that Dr A doesnt give bill until u land, i wish that was not the case.
I am trying to do everything right this time. Also confused as to whether Jfk or Atl is an easy Poe.
I will write a letter of intent to the embassy soon since i intend leaving nextmonth. I did drop box n was not preg as at the day of the app. Had my 2 other kids in ATL but considering Houston this time. Accomodation is settled.
Pls i am open to advice
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by yokus(f): 6:07pm On Oct 09, 2015
That is the worst POE story i have heard. How will she tell the kids that they cant vacation in USA anymore for now. SMH.
I feel even if she had some correspondence, the officer would still send her back ahah. Cancelling the whole family's visas is cruel
