Toba, please do not derail this thread. It's about calling our brothers and sisters back here, ok? |
toba:Yes. it is possible. If you have family members who are not muslims, for example, your parents or siblings. You love them naturally. No, it is not possible, in a relationship like marriage, which I assume you mean here. For a non Muslim man is forbidden for a Muslim woman to marry. And I like the word you used there 'possible'. Yes. It's not just possible for a real Muslim lady to be in that kind of relationship with a non Muslim male. Not by accident, coincidence or whatever cause. I hope I have answered your question. |
toba:Why should Muhsin talk to me when you can do so yourself? And by the way, what's the issue? |
bilms:I've been to the site. It's just a page. The site doesn't still provide a source for the claims. Anyone could come up with those now. Please let us be sure of the info we share here. |
azharuddin:Oh. Welcome back. ![]() Jarus:That's right. I remember Belloti. What's his fb ID? Perhaps I can talk to him, who knows? Jarus:No be only you. Me I admire am self. bashy_demy:Welcome on board. May Allah make it easy. Eid Mubarak (in advance) to everyone. |
FELIX30:be realistic. at times, you ask for a change and that change never comes. Consider the scenarios described above. A man that turned wife into a punching bag or one who is an unrepentant adulterer, either of these could bring untimely death to a woman. Would you rather die because you want to save a marriage. Is it not someone that is alive that can be in a marriage? Divorce isn't so pleasant but it is the solution at times. |
barneli:How come? Your identity reads male here ![]() likeme: how do you know? |
Sensible post. |
Wow! Good news you've got there uplawal. Our tasleem to both of them. |
Scary indeed. May Allah save us from such torment and any torment of the grave or hellfire. (Amin). |
@ Muhsin Asalam alaykum. May Allah enrich you from His bounties and make things easier for you (and all of us too). Your candid reply is appreciated. And 'amin' to your prayers. It's true, reading all those blasphemy and still keeping one's head is quite a task but we must emulate the Noble Prophet Muhammed (saw0. He suffered much more persecutions and still succeeded. May Allah grant us success here and in the hereafter. |
You're all welcome, non-Nigerian folks. marhabaabikum. |
Don't mind them. They are doing 'copy copy'. Not knowing that Islam is already perfected, no one can just wake up one morning and bring any rubbish into it. |
Jazakumullah khayran. |
babs787:You have really gone for long. |
Oh! How time flies. It's another jum'a already. Barka Jum'a folks. |
Jarus:@bold. You're so emotional about this. |
A'udhubillahi mina shaytaani rajeem. I read through that long post. It's terrifying. May Allah guide and guard us against the evil ones. |
@bizprenuer Even though I am not in a position to dispute any scholar as I am only a student of knowledge, I can say for sure that there is a contrary opinion to the ones above, only that I can't search now, insha Allah I'll do so when I'm able to. But then, I say again, consider the predicament of a woman who gets pregnant and breastfeeds in turn for 5 consecutive years and finds it extremely overbearing to fast either when pregnant or breastfeeding. This is not a condition I'm just illustrating, I'm telling of a real life case, the sister had 3 kids in 5years and she breastfed each for over one year. She gets pregnant immediately she weans a child. Now if this sister intends to pay back the missed fasts, that'll be 30/29*5=150/145days. I doubt if it'd be easy for anyone to pay this back, considering that she's not even stopping at 3 kids. Islam does not lay a burden on a soul more than he can bare (Surah baqarah). Although since it is a scholarly opinion, any one is free to choose which is convenient for her. The important thing is that whatever we do, as long as it is done sincerely, then I believe that Allah will reward us accordingly. And Allah knows best. |
@babs Thanks. May Allah honor you too here and in the hereafter. |
Is there no censors board or something that controls the release of those stupid videos? I get nauseated watching them at times. It's not only that they do silly and outright haram things in the name of Islam in the videos, they simply exhibit their own ignorance and stupidity, I'm sorry to say. ![]() |
@babs Did u read my plea on the other thread? What's your opinion? |
Yes, the interesting thing to note is that the sensible ones among the non-muslims are the objective ones who are ready to discuss. You'll easily know the trouble makers by their illogical reasoning and unwarranted insults. The best thing to do to such is to completely ignore them, rather than allow them constitute a nuisance to our discussions. |
mdsocks Jazakallah khayran. Yeah, Babs is one wonderful poster. He sure has the strength, and zeal. |
toba:Hey, all those names I included were just coming to my head as I typed. Even though I couldn't have exhausted the list of all of my wonderful brothers and sisters on here, those I didn't mention are equally important as those I did. What is your own self? ![]() |
azharuddin:@bold. Amin. May Allah keep us firm on the true path. I have also learnt a lot myself that's why it's bothering me that a lot of our old contributors are no longer here. |
As we enter the last ten days of Ramadan, we should ponder over the past 20 days and reflect on what we've done. Are we meeting the target we set for ourselves? Do we feel the impact of the holy month in us? have we improved in any particular way? Are there things we wish to do or change about ourselves we haven't done? We still have 10 days to gain from this very rewarding month. Now in the next ten days, what are our plans? What's our target? Are we set to look for Laylaatul-Qadr? We need to intensify our ibaadah- Qiyamulayl, Quran recitation, nawaafil, charity, good deeds, etc etc. And let's not forget to say as much as we can: Allahuma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul afwa fa'fu annaa. May Almighty Allah accept all from us, make this Ramadan a stepping stone in our lives, grant us many more of it and make us die as Muslims. Asalam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh. ![]() |
I've been going through some old threads and can't stop myself from feeling the nostalgia as I remember great brothers and sisters who have made this section alive over the years. At times, I'd want to raise an issue but will hold back knowing that these great minds won't be there to contribute. Sincerely I feel very sad about this. We learn a lot from one another and we shouldn't allow some anti-Islam individuals dissuade us from this meritorious job we're doing. The popular Yoruba saying goes 'ta ba diju ki eniyan buruku koja, eniyan rere ma koja taa ni mo. You wouldn't know the post you'd send that'll be positive life-changing for some individual out there. Please don't let us go away and leave this section so dull. I know there are still a few here who are trying their best, but it'd be better if all of you guys come back to keep it charging and interesting as of old. Let us forget the noise in the market place and focus on our transaction. Sure some o us are very busy, but if we see this as a part of our ibadah and contribute sincerely, I'm sure Allah will reward us for it. Olabowale, Muhsin, Fayezik, Lagosboy, babs787, Olanajim, Riskie, ayinba1, Frizy, uplawal and others I can't remember now, please don't go away. |

Jazakallah khayran. Chakula. Great job you're doing there. Surah Kahf is one very fascinating one for me. Can't help pondering on it over and over. |
There is no harm in watching football as long as you don't overdo it. You know, Islam is all about moderation. |
I hope I won't be adulterating this beautiful thread because I'm feeling too lazy to look for the source of this hadith right now, but we all know it. This is just a reminder. The Prophet (pbuh) encouraged that we say in the last ten days of Ramadan: Allahuma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul afwa fa'fu annaa. Chakula et al, pls provide the source. |
