wa alaykum salam. You may open a new thread if your question does not relate to any of the topics here. khattab008: |
Remii:How far? |
AbuHanifa:Are you sure you'll make it? You ought to be there by now. Remii:Don't worry, they'll turn in. Perhaps everyone is coming from far distances. Hang in there! |
bizpreneur:You have a very valid point there. We should be seen and recognised as believing women, ALL OF THE TIME. May Allah make it easy for us and accepts our good deeds from us. May He also make it easier for us to always engage in righteous acts, amin. Wishing you attendees a most pleasant time there. Really wish I'd be there but it just isn't possible this year. Jarus, don't waste time in giving us gists, ok? And by the way Jarus, I didn't know how or where to reply the message you sent me. I need the said ID please. |
@op That's an over-generalisation. Kids are to be loved and pampered. It makes them better mentally and psychologically as adults. I've always had the slogan 'spare the child and spoil the rod'. I got it from my father and it worked well for him because despite that belief, all of his children have grown up into fine men and women. Striking a balance is the key word. You let your child know what is right and what is not and as kids, they are bound to deviate from the rules at times. What to do at this time is to lovingly correct them and let them know the consequences of such actions. A child you bring up with love will hardly want to hurt you but children who grow up the hard way- cursing and flogging- usually end up been tough and non challant. |
There are some islamic bookshops at Mushin and some too at Oshodi. Even islamic book publishers are in these two places too. I think Alasela is at Mushin. You can also get books at baytuzeenah in any of its branches, I know there's one at Ikeja, there used to be one in Lagos island but its like that has been moved to another location. |
Amiin Very relevant du'a. |
I don't really have a scholarly opinion on that but personally, I'd repeat the dhikr each time I enter and come out. it doesn't cost much to do that, I think and then, it saves me the doubt of whether i'm right or wrong since saying them at each time doesn't constitute any harm which not saying them may do. Allahu a'lam. |
jazakumllah khayran. The two posts above are indeed very true. The place of women in Islam is a unique one we can't find among any other religion or ideological group. Once again, Alhamdulilah I'm a Muslimah! |
Awwww. Sorry about that. This ulcer thing self. Even one of our ustadh here has same problem. he has to alternate his days of fasting too. May Allah heal you all and accept all our acts of Ibaadah. Is ulcer curable? |
Jarus:Is Ify a muslimah now? |
I've discovered one in one of the streets very close to Ojuelegba bus stop. It's a Montessori school. I can't say much about it myself but a couple of friends who recommend it say it's quite good. I want to have a talk with one or two people in the school before deciding whether I'll make a go for it. Any other suggestion will be well appreciated though. I'm still searching. |
@OP Please what's the source of these claims? |
You guys really had a swell time. |
Alright. |
onikeku.k.:Apostle, I haven't made a comment, yet. I've only asked a couple of questions, ok? |
Does he call himself a prophet? Who gave him the name ami olohun? me think all of us are ami olohun now |
Some people do not have anything constructive to say. Such people should be ignored. Especially when their posts are out of tune. 0hsisi: ![]() |
mukina2:May Allah answer your prayers and ease your affairs for you. Alhamdulilah its Ramadhan, a time when prayers are better answered. Now take off that sad look and wear a smile. ![]() |
Jarus:We can't wait to hear(read) it. |

mybad:Come off it Mybad! Her father gave her hand out. How are you now? Any update? Good to hear from you again. Your little angels are fine. Another one has joined them now. Are you aware? |
bolar:Asalam alaykum, The rule to follow is that of Allah, His prophet and the rightly guided sahabah. The Prophet (saw) and his companions used to observe the nawafil without a rigid rule of surah to use or number of rakah. The Prophet only recommended that after observing the nawafil in twos, we should end it with witr (one rakah). There is a list that people pass around and some mosques even read out number of rakah and the specific surah to read on each for everyday. This is an innovation that we should not join in. May Allah guide us right. |
@Toba Thanks. Hope you're good. |
This isn't a complaint per se but an observation. Too many threads are being opened these days about Ramadhan. I think you should do something about merging those that are related or something so we can have just few. My opinion. |
Aishabee:Inna lilahi wa inna ilayhi raaji'un. It's painful the brother eventually died but Allah knows best. |
Alright sis. ![]() I do visit the site. It's my homepage. May Allah accept our good deeds and continue to guide us. |
What do you mean exactly? |
@ Aishabee I'm not sure the hadith that says a pregnant/breastfeeding woman should feed a poor person is weak. Allah who made laws is All-knowing and All-wise and He gave abundant wisdom to the Noble Prophet muhammed (saw). Consider a scenario where a woman is pregnant in Ramadhan 2005 and couldn't fast. By Ramadhan 2006, she hasn't been able to make up the missed fast because she's still breastfeeding. Ramadhan 2007 meets her pregnant again and of course, she's breastfeeding by Ramadhan 2008. Some people can have 3 children in a stretch of 5 years. How would such person make up the missed fasts, 30/29 in 5 places, you know. I believe the ruling that permits women in these circumstances to feed a poor person is more realistic. Infact, I'm reading for the first time that this ruling is da'eef (weak). Allah knows best. |
Oh my! Wish I could attend. ![]() |
Fascinating |
