Bro, from the definitions you provided, isn't it right to say the students were petrified? Weren't they afraid? Throughout my days in school, I always had excellent grades in English, but the corrections I see people make on words/sentences etc these days scare me sometimes. Why is English so difficult? There's this line by Jon Bellion that I usually sing along that goes like.... " my soul was petrified".... Is that wrong also? How then should the word be used? English wasn't so difficult those days, now I find it difficult speaking/ writing freely because I feel someone will detect an error somewhere along the line.

This one is called astral projection. It's quite different from sleep paralysis. Some people can deliberately go into this state. Yours, like so many others was by mistake.

I don't think that's sleep paralysis. Nightmares may be- I think. You can't say a word even with your mouth wide open when it hits you. You get "paralyzed" at such moments.

First experienced it when I was about twelve. The guy who told us about it said you never get to experience it until someone tells you about it. I only get scared sometimes during the process, sometimes I don't, but overall once it's over I feel no fear at all. I think a lot of people have actually experienced it but only thought they were dreaming because they haven't heard about it. It usually happens to me when I stay awake for hours at night - like tonight or when I sleep face side stomach down, or back down face up. It never happens when I sleep on my side. I should be sleeping now but, boy-o-boy, I've been awake.... so there's a possibility.

Have you never seen a square column from foundation made to appear round on the super structure just for aesthetics? What amazes me most is that your statement that you've never seen expansion joint run through columns. You think a gap can run vertically through a single column like the one in that picture? And you mentioned walls again. What do you think that 'crack' on walls run through?... COLUMNS OF COURSE! Are you an engineer, architect or any other professional in this field at all? Yes, I am, a 100%. The danger would rather be when there's no gap or the 'cracks' you see there. Without that deliberate vertical gap, the 'crack' would eventually force it's way harpharzadly along the columns because they are placed along an expansion gap line. That's when people should start crying.

I've been in soooo many such parking lots ... and underground parking lots in high rise buildings where there is great fluctuation in seasonal temperatures and have never ever seen expansion joints on pillars. My best guess is sloppy work ... the mould used to cast the concrete left that crease when removed and it was never filled up after. The same can be said of the beams with the apparent crack... most likely the where two plates used to set the concrete reached. The plates were removed and the rough seam not filled in and smooth out. If not ... then the pillars and beams are really coming apart at their weakest points. Just my take!

You sound like someone in the building profession yet you're holding on to a wrong assertion even though they've tried to explain to you here. Why are you bent on misleading others who do not know these things? Where do you mostly have expansion joints if not on floors,beams and columns? Isn't it so clear in the pictures? Even on walls, expansion is made between columns, you don't just tear walls to create expansion gaps. For Christ sakes, those round columns you see there are double columns. It's the reason for the 'cracks'. Perhaps it's the cylindrical shape of the columns that's confusing you cos most round columns are single, but not this one cos it's along an EXPANSION gap line so it MUST be double.
