Respect the deceased's family members. Do not leave them with horrid pictures of their loved one's last moments. This situation is already sad enough. NAIRALAND and stewpid photographers should stop immortalizing this moment on the internet. IDK what purpose posts like these serve. And in any case, the news can be reported without pictures. 1 Like |

Health / Re: Why Doctors & Nurses Inject The Buttocks More by ziga: 2:18pm On Apr 20, 2017 |
A lot of misinformation here. Nairaland should be careful about spreading misinformation. Injections given in the butt are intramuscular injections. It has absolutely nothing to do with fat or with medicines being absorbed by fat. The gluteus region happens to have the biggest muscles in the body. It is therefore the safest place to give an intramuscular injection. Imagine injecting into a 2cm thick cardboard vs a 6cm thick cardboard. You will get better results with the thicker cardboard. The absorption of medicine in fat is poor because fat is not well vascularized (poor blood flow). Medication that we want to be slowly absorbed can be given into fat (subcutaneous tissue). Also, when medication are manufactured for home use, these injections tend to be subcutaneous because they don't go into deep tissue and are less likely to injure deep organs. Therefore, they are safer. 1 Like |
Celebrities / Re: Baby Bump Of Runtown's Girlfriend, Selena (Photos) by ziga: 11:30am On Apr 20, 2017 |
babyfaceafrica: Both Parents have that responsibility. However, most cultures have traditionally delegated child care to the mother. I think that is fine. The only problem is that we don't appreciate that this is work and women are mostly left with that burden. Imagine if you employed a nanny for your baby, you will pay for that care. So, if the child care responsibilities are mostly being handled by one parent, the other parent also has to be responsible in some way. |

HungerBAD: So, who is supposed to take care of the kid? It is unfortunate we need laws that make Dads take care of their children. Maybe if we had those laws in Nigeria, our men will only Father children that they can afford to care for. And we wouldn't have so many suffering children 16 Likes 1 Share |

Venerable612: The report is confusing and might be false. It was "said to be credited to the commissioner of police". But it seems to be false news. And sometimes Nairaland is responsible for propagation of these types. By the way, you made a great suggestion. We are our own worst enemy. |

The Nigerian educational system must have suffered a catastrophic event. A Nigerian born lady, who is well educated and celebrated world wide is being dissed by some people here who obviously haven't read or listened to what she has to say. Says a lot about Nigeria. We only like to worship money and pastor/imam. And only celebrate criminals and polithiefcians. Anyhow, that's the beauty of freedom of speech. 13 Likes 4 Shares |

There has to be some technical flaw in the design of these buses that makes them catch fire. Too many cases of this. The case of the exploding airbags by Takata in so many Japanese vehicles is being probed in the US. But as per Nigeria, we will leave it in the hands of god. Because our leaders are non existent. 3 Likes |

Romance / Re: Dating Married Men by ziga: 4:58pm On Apr 16, 2017 |
The blame is on both sides. Men cheat, Women cheat. Men more than women. It doesn't matter whether they are married, engaged, dating, baby father etc. An unfaithful person is an unfaithful person. The blame is 50% to the man and 50% to the woman. Many cultures and society in general have historically been unfair to women. Go ask the cheating woman that Jesus saved from being stoned to death. I am sure she wasn't cheating with herself. |
Religion / Re: How Do We Differentiate Between Discerning Spirit And Selective Gospel? by ziga: 12:37pm On Apr 16, 2017 |
To a large extent, behavior is cultural. A lot of things we do these days were regarded as sacrilege back in the days. If you look at the history of modern medicine, physicians were barbaric and not acceptable to the community back in the days (they practiced with dead bodies. Made contact with blood and all those types of things) Drinking alcohol is regarded as a sin by some people but it is a cultural norm with some people. Jesus turned water into wine for "christ sake" African/Nigerian christianity is infused with our ritualistic cultural practices and to make things worse, we are so judgmental of things that are not "ours" and we therefore contradict the whole essence of Jesus' message of acceptance. |

Religion / Re: Do You Think It's Right Blaming Judas Iscariot For Jesus Death? by ziga: 6:49pm On Apr 14, 2017 |
judedwriter: If God already knew that Judas would intentionally betray Jesus, what was the point of Jesus giving Judas the chance to repent. Judas never really had a chance it seems. And If Jesus died for our sins, we should be grateful to Judas for doing what all the other 11 disciples couldn't do... for the salvation of mankind. 4 Likes |

It is very likely that there is something medically wrong with the child. Could be a brain tumor. There are other metabolic conditions that could cause this. Child needs a hospital before she dies. But India is just as poor as Nigeria. Maybe a better organized and not as corrupt, so things seem to work better there. 1 Like |

Family / Re: What Is The Cost Of Marrying A Bride In Your Town? by ziga: 12:49pm On Apr 14, 2017 |
Culture (which is a way of life for people) evolves according to the situation. When the world used to be uncivilized and everything was a Jungle, certain things made sense. Demeaning things we used to do are being phased out. for example Female circumcision, tribal marks. The notion that brides should be traded is demeaning and it carries over to Men feeling like they own Women. Women are not commodities. Africa is not a dark continent. We need to move forward!!! 7 Likes 1 Share |
Religion / Re: Are You One Of Those That Flogged And Crucified Jesus Christ? by ziga: 12:24pm On Apr 14, 2017 |
And also, If you are a christian and you relish the killing of muslims. Or you support the persecution of any human being, just because they are not christians Or you resent christians of a different denomination Or you resent and judge people you do not know about Or you relish and partake in bringing others down Or you relish and partake in jungle justice (because some of the people that flogged Jesus didn't even know him or understand what he was being charged with) You are just as guilty. Love your neighbor (fellow human being) as you love yourself. |
