What I am seeing in the picture is the air filter, not the mass air flow meter. The MAF sits between the air filter and the injectors, and are much smaller than the filter.

@OP, MAF sensor could stall your engine, but filter should not.

you are used to few or one type of an engine

the air flow meter is always on the air intake pipes on average soon after the filter


on the picture the flow meter is not there but you can see the wire were it get connected

That is not an air flow meter but an air filter. Change it asap, it's not expensive.

he is right its the air flow meter check there is a connection wire on the top of the filter box thats the one that connects to the air flow meter

you think everyone knows about the file you requesting even the people who have the same radio might not even know about the file you are requesting

go back to basic explain what is happening to the radio and explain what the file is for

Hi everyone. I need advice please. Forgive my explanation, I don't know much about cars.

I drive a 1998 Honda Accord EX I4 Automatic transmission (4 gear). Recently, I noticed that whenever I'm on a journey, the transmission performs very fine but after about one hour of constant acceleration above 100km/h, the transmission begins to misbehave and the gears take much effort to shift. Furthermore, when it starts misbehaving and I engage the gear, it doesn't respond immediately until I rev it up to 3000 and then it responds and takes unusual time to shift to the next gear and then stops at the third gear. But after letting it to cool off for like 30 minutes, it returns to normal. This has prevented me from using the car for journeys.
I took the car to the mechanics and after checking, they said the fault was from the sensors. I changed all the sensors and on the same day, I noticed the same problem.
Please what could be the cause of this problem and how can I go about fixing it?

its either the cluctches are gone or the oik is old needs changing

i always recommend starting with changing the oil especially the recommended one

if it doesnt work then the clutches are gone

i once had a problem like that but on hond crv 98 and it would lose drive after 10 mins of drive and the problem was the wore out clutches, changed the transmission

i will give an example of my life here in UK my wive does long days (aka 12 hour shift) 3 times a week

so when am off when she doing a long day i cook, clean the house and do the laundry

this is helping my partner, imagine this, she goes to work 12 hours 8 am - 8pm cames back and start to cook and clean the house by the time she goes to bed i would want sex, she would be tired like real a slave and that affect the sex our life and her physical body

the best thing is to help her by making her rest, just like our fathers used to do, go to work came back home and bathing water would be ready and food then the next day he is fresh for work, women too need to rest after a day at work this can be done by doing other chores, by the time she come back from work she wont have to do much and the rest of the time she would resting

its high time african men learn to help wives in the house especially if she goes to work

chores are not meant to do a duty but as everyday work to keep the house clean and also to be done as helping your other partner take rest

it would be a different story if the women is just housewive

third party insurance mean that if you get involved in an accident and it is your faulty your insurance company will cover the cost to the damage

if it is you who is at faulty still your insurance will cover the damages but your montly premium will go up

try this clean the end of the key make sure that there is no dirty on it, it once happened to a friend of mine all he was told was tol clean the end bit

if that doesnt work then there is a easy cheap way of getting the car back on the road i.e change with a set of ECU with its ignation barrel and the locks of the doors and swap them with ones on the car

most women who think the husband is wrong think that the husband has no right to the wife's simply becoz thy think its the man's job to look after the family, true but not as things used to be where the wife would play housewife now things are tough for ordinary couple, they need to both work for the things to be better unless you are married to a rich person and you work becoz you dont want to be simply a housewife

As long the money is not enough from one breadwinner, the other working partner they should 1st put his/her money on the family table unless the issue was talked before and agreed that the other partner's shouldnt be put on the family table

something wrong with your gearbox get it scanned

if the speedo is not working mostly likely it is the vehicle speedometer sensor on the gearbox

definately disk worn out hence the vibration when brake and also your pads are worn out that why your hear the sound they might be worn out to bare mental part of the brake pads

For the transmission, the gear oil has been changed, as well as the gear sensors cleaned.
When i said front tyres, i didnt mean the tyres in itself but the front wheels, my tyres are new, I hope you understand better now.
The exhaust, the noise comes from the filter, inside.There are no leakages.
For the fuel consumption, just used my initiatives to assume.
And please i need you to recommend a good mechanic at oyigbo. Thank you

when the transmission oil was changed was the car having the problem already ? why were the sensors getting cleaned ?

on the wheels go for wheel aligment

as for fuel consumption an exhaust leak will affect fuel consumption

While in motion, the rate at which it changes gear is unusual. It is an automatic transmission, and i expect a smooth transmission, but it sometimes jerk. I was advised to change the gear sensor or something.

The crv is a 98 model crv, it consumes more fuel than usual. I spend 1500 from berger to ikoyi and return. I term that to be expensive.

The salincer (please correct my spelling), i mean the exhaust anyway, it makes a very weird noise, and it is not leaking. I recently gave a panel beater that worked some stuffs inside, but it makes so much noise now. Initially it wasn't.

The steering keeps steering to the right in motion, i really don't know why. I am sure it has nothing to do with alignment or balancing. I recently gave a mechanic to check the two front tires if they were ok, and he padded it up with some round black rubbers. Now if i am making a U-turn, the tires drag a lot.

then on the exhaust am lost you say it makes a lot of noise but there is no leak, is the noise a metal to metal one or sound from the exhaust? a simple check if the exhaust is not leaking is closing the exhaust end with your hand and if there is a leaking you hear hear the pressure leaking

the on fuel consumption is it something you have observed or something you have told or comparing with a friend's car?

simple why dont you swap around the sender from the none working pump to the pump which is now in the car ?

Hi all, I need healthy advice from someone here.

My car runs fine without any issues at all except that anytime my car slows down or stops and I try to move again while turning my steering it suddenly feels very stiff. I mean it works freely only when I'm in motion.

My mech said it's my steering BOX, I asked him if it was the pump buy he said no. He told me that if he works in it and it's still faulty then I should keep 23k to change the whole power steering apparatus (I've forgotten what he called it). Also my radio comes on or off whenever it feels like, I mean it may be on when I switch the car on but after moving a little distance it goes off automatically never to come on again till I restart my engine (and it's not every time I restart the car that it comes back on again). My mech said he will wire it directly to the car's battery and remove it from the ignition, is this wise?

I don't use coolant, I feel I should but I don't know the right type to buy or the way I should put it in my radiator or the amount I should use.

is the power steering fluid full to the write level ?

and for radio check the wiring at the back of the radio, no need to wire it direct to the battery and you will forced to make sure that it is switched off manually because it will drain your battery if you forget to switch off

but the tie rod end is that one which is set to make your car drive striaght, if not set correct the car would either pull left or right

fellow nairalanders, I write out of experience. I once owned Honda accord 1993 model, very strong and efficient but the challenge was tie rod pull which is common with almost all Honda cars. ever since, I have always had my eyes on Honda CRV 1998-2000 model but my fear is as mentioned above. now I ask car gurus and experienced owners to comment on this as I intend getting one asap

Hello guys please i need help, I have a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L, for some time I've noticed that my radiator fan does not come on while my car is on even after running for a long while, but immediately i switch on the AC both the radiator and condenser grabs come on and remain on, if i switch off the AC both fans go off.
Little research I've don't on the Internet suggest that is the Engine Coolant Temperature ECT sensor thats probably bad.

Anyone here who has experienced similar problems.

the radiator fan only comes on when the temperature has reached between 86 -90 degrees

a simple test let the car idle untill the temperature reaches towards half mark, then you must hear the radiator fan kick in

if it doesnt then we take from there
