I once wrote a job aptitude test with a best graduating student in the faculty of engineering and he failed the test. Will you say he cheated to get his first class because he failed the test? A 4.3 GPA shows that someone is atleast serious and hard working irrespective of the school they go to.

saxywale: Using OAU as an example, you are expected to pass a total of 12units of special elective before you can graduate, even if you have a 4.99 cgpa. So in all cases, e.g a chemical engineering student might have to sit for irrelevant courses in sociology, geography, building, English e.t.c. but that's the rules.
Your sis knew that she needed to pass that course to graduate yet she still failed. Tell her to buckle up and prepare well for the resit.

Why are you justifying the action of the school for a course that doesn't have a credit unit? It is completely wrong to impose certification course on students when such certification doesn't count to the final unit. I think there are so many people beefing here like black people generally hate themselves. Its a pity that in Nigeria there is generally no standard otherwise the NUC would have done something about such practice.

All the educated Nigerian MSc holder and working class people I know here in Europe went back to Nigeria to marry. The one's that are yet to marry have someone back home. So I will say it is more difficult getting the educated working class Nigerian if you are in Europe than if you're in Nigeria

My drift away from religion started when I didn't see any logic or objectivity in all what I was being taught in church. I asked so many questions and was told its a sin to ask such questions simply because the church authority didn't have answer to my questions. Ultimately, I stopped going to church and my parent threatened to kick me out of the house but I didn't bulge. They tried their to reconvert me to the way of their god but they could not. The funny thing is that I didn't have any atheist mentor around and I was just 16 years. I only knew that all religious teachings were false and exploitative. Eventually, it will take me 3 years after giving up religion, to see people that reason like when I got into Unilag to study Engineering. That was when I knew I wasn't the only one that doesn't believe in all religious gods.
Looking back at Nigeria, it vexes me when I see how religion have made an entire population docile, superstitious and remove their basic ability to reason with their brain because they put all their hope and aspiration on so called men of God who are common men like they are, except they have the gift of playing on the psychology and gullibility of people.

Vivly: I just had my first gss coure on philosophy nd d lecturer was lyk 'wat makes u tink God exists?'. The guy rili contradicted our views. He told us dat we all agree dat we r made in d likeness of God, nd dat hw is it possible dat we r not perfect nd he is perfect. Though he gave us many contradictory reasons, i can only rememba this. All religious god are man made whose origin can be traced if you take your time to research history. Religion is meant for people that lack the will to think critically for themselves. There is not a single evidence that any of the gods out there exist except quotes from holy books written by man.

I just renewed my passport at the Nigerian Embassy in the Hague, The Netherlands. The cost of the renewal was 65 dollars application fee when you fill the form online, 40 euros handling charge and 250 euros fine because my passport has not expired (I still had like 8months left on it). At the end it cost me about 340 euros(429.5 dollars or 68,480 Naira).
The Nigerian staff at the embassy where very nice to me but the money I paid (which is not the fault of the Embassy) is a complete rip off and I think the Nigerian government should look into the activities of the Nigerian Immigration.

If everybody goes to university, who will mount other sectors of the economy? Ever since HND discrimination started, we lost it as a nation. Teachings in polytechnics are not even what they are suppose to be anymore in the sense that they are no more equipped to give sound technical education instead it has been converted to more of theoretical education and they still call them technical schools. We need to go back to the drawing board as a nation to redesign what system we want for ourself as a nation.
Also @ OP, don't forget that majority of these so called qualified people that you are talking about are actually not qualified but got the fantastic grades and result through 'runs' which has become the order of the day in Nigeria. Eradication of 'runs' is what we should be looking at so that truly gifted students can be identified and nurtured to help build Nigeria.

ADAM is not the name of one person , just like ESAU is not the name of one person, just like ISRAEL is not the name of one person. The bible operates on dichotomy. while those are the names of one person, they refer to a nation of people. lets take for example

I quite agree with you on the progressing research in astrophysics concerning the origin of life. Infact one of my role model is the astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson a well known Atheist. However, the current level of progress in their research is not enough to prove the origin of life or the world as we see it today. Disproving gods doesn't require going into science because the irrationalities in religious dogma is enough to disbelieve their teachings. Events are interpreted with selective picking of texts from holy books while disregarding other relevant texts that could prove their interpretation otherwise. Truth is nobody can prove the origin of life today.
