I am out of the country in one of the carribean islands and need an account through which my parents can easily send me money. Up till now, i've been using GT bank accounts of some friends (using their mastercard to withdraw over here), but I think we all understand that is not a very good option. Of recent, i told my dad to open an account with GT bank and send the mastercard to me, so things would get easier. But GT bank is not that very accesible to him (i.e. not close to our area), he has a better access to Firstbank. But when i searched on the internet, the terms and conditions of getting a First Bank mastercard was too high, so, i told him to still open with GT bank. Just yesterday, i got an e-mail from firstbank about their Firstbank Visa Naira Creditcard but i don't want to just jump at it without knowing it that is what i really need. All i need the card for is:
(i). I need an account my parents can always pay into easily without the whole stress of wire transfer
(ii). I need a card i would be able to use on an ATM machine anywhere and
(iii). I need a card i can use to make my online payments.
So, which one should i go for? the GT Bank master card (not easily accesible) or the Firstbank Visa Naira credit card (it's just a stone-throw from my house)? Thanks a lot for your responses.

I don't know much about GTB or Firstbank, but I can speak of UBA Africard. Its a great card. And I have bought services with it online. You pay in Naira but shop in Dollars.

someone once said that Africard can debit and credit which i believe its true because there was a time when i didn't verify my hosting and the hosting company refunded the money back to my africard and i got an sms alert instantly.

you cant pay flipping fee at flippa because paypal is the payment processor. Therefore, you need a paypal account or be in a paypal accepted country.

Adsense is not a get rich quick program and if you choose a poorly advertised niche, you end up making peanuts.

The reason it is now difficult to sign up for adsense account or get it approve is due to what one Nigerian infomarketer did back in 2010. So bro, live with it. Just keep applying till your account is approved and make sure that you play by the rule. Back then, mine didn't take up to 24hours.

Fiverr means of payment is paypal and paypal does not accept Nigerians. Even if you succeeded in getting an account there through the back door, your account will get frozen.

I remember watching on AM Express a few years ago where a group of 3 UNILAG students built an hovercraft and it worked so well. During interview, the leader of the group said he has been on the project since year 1 but where are those guys today? Only God knows.

At my school in PTI, one mechanical engineering student built a one man helicopter, where is he today? Another guy in the electrical department designed and built a device that can be used lock your car even if the car was stolen and taken to Ghana, it wouldn't start.

Who cares about you? My advice to all HND holders is this, if you know your capacity and that you are very good, why worry yourself about what people think about your qualification or cert.? Albert E., Isaac Newton, Henry Ford and many more who changed the world didn't have as much education as most of us, but they did changed the way people value them. But then, we have to be in a place where the system are functioning and the basic infrastructure are available. That's why I will leave this country come 2013 / 2014. Over there you are more valued than in your own country.
