HimName:Greatest Gbo Gbo, I lived beside the palace then, was at the forefront of it all....Rgretted not leaving the night before....Worst 2 days of my life....Thank God for sparing me! |
Midas01:According to the 10 commandments and other laws states in the Bible, murder , fornication, aldutery and so on are prohibited but you won't find one verse in the Bible that prohibits the ability of men to marry more than one wife. You won't find anything that suports it but there's nothing making it ungodly! |
Midas01:Adultery does not apply when you marry the other woman so that argument is dead on arrival. Most times you can only marry one wife at a time so why would the Bible say wives? Wouldn't your statement also contradict Father Abraham's predicament? What about Moses, Jacob and King Solomon? Nice try ![]() |
1StopRudeness:Now this I can agree with, let's leave judgment for judgment day...Shalom! |
Midas01:Show me were Judaism or Christianity explicitly prohibits polygamy? |
1StopRudeness:You're confusing sentiments with facts, I asked you a simple question what makes you think your version is more morally acceptable than others? Interpretation is the keyword here, just like we are influenced by our parents and society at large, many people are influenced by interprations of the holy books. What you just wrote about th Quran is comical because just like many ignorant people here on Nairaland, you took the words out of context, in advanced literature class we were taught to look at situations and context before reaching a conclusion. The Quran, the Bible all mentioned men killing their enemies, fighting in the name of God but look at the context, most were during times of oppression and against those who lived by violence. The Prophet SAW was persecued for over 13 years, he and his followers ran for their lives to Medina and the enemies still came after them, this was how the verses came about, it's no diffferent than military warfare we see today. Infidels are not solely Christians, in fact the Quran respects people of the book(Christians) and implicitly states that there's no compulsion in Islam. The only times aggression is accepted is when threatened or in a war. If certain Muslims misinterpret that then that's on them and not the religion, it's on their religious leaders and other scholars peddling extremism just like the Caholic church did in the crusades. To educate yourself more lok here: https://www.alislam.org/articles/why-does-the-quran-say-that-infidels-should-be-killed/ |
1StopRudeness:We'll just have to disagree on that, religion forms the fabric of our moral compass in today's socities, if it does not prohibit something then it is perfectly okay as log as it is not illegal. You talk about feelings and bringing another woman home but if you read the Quran or Bible properly, you would understand men were never prohibited from bringing another woman home as long as they don't neglect existing wife/wives. We must not let our modern interpretations distort what is allowed or prohibited by the holy books. The Quran never said love equally but rather: “But if you feel you many not be able to deal justly between them, then marry only one.” (Holy Qur’an, 4:4). Justly does not mean equally rather fairly. If wife A puts in 70% and wife B only puts in 30% then they should get their rewards according to their efforts(Equity/Justly), what would be wrong is to give wife A 50% and also wife B 50%(Equality). I don't support men cheating but I can never be against men having the right to marry more than one wife, you can love someone and yet have the need to marry more than one, kings do it for expanding their empire, some do it for child bearing, while some do it just for the sake of it. Since all religions are interpretated by those with deep knowledge of it and then propagated to the masses, what makes you think your version is more right than others? |
1StopRudeness:Your post mentioned love, that is your premise. Do unto others as you want done to you! This premise does not apply without conditions especially in marriages, marrying more than one wife does not mean you don't love the first wife. Religion gives this right to men but not to women, this was what I pointed out, love alone will not prevent men from marrying other wives. As for the other things you mentioned, stick to topics you understand. Christians and Muslims alike are guilty of murders and disrespecting women, one has just been polarized more than the other. |
1StopRudeness:All religions practice love but that has nothing to do with men having more than one wives and women basically not being able to do the same. No religion gives equal rights to men and women, there's always a distinction. Cheating husbands are obviously violating this principle, why cheat when you can marry? Of course we know why they cheat.....They want the milk but don't want to buy the cow, taking care of one woman is hard enough but two or more....Chineke! |
Ajsmart:Lol if I couldn't afford internet in the USA then something is wrong ...You read things online and take them as facts without doing your research. Did you even bother to see what the article defines as mass shootings? For example gun deaths between gangs, drug dealers and so on are also counted by the research org., in the article but by FBI guidelines those don't count. By FBI guidelines there have been 31 mass shootings in 2019.https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/verify/verify-claims-of-over-250-mass-shootings-in-2019-need-context-could-be-closer-to-30/507-17aae119-8dd5-40f6-b73a-e083324ed795 https://www.factcheck.org/2019/08/mass-killings-across-america/ Next time, you want to call someone dumb, make sure you actually know WTF you're talking about! |
People get sentimental over everything! If most of us are practical like the mother, a lot of our problems would be solved easily. The parents made a mistake by bringing an SS into the world, the mother is trying to correct that mistake by making sure the son has a successor. Who knows? He might live to be 100 but in this life, nothing is guaranteed. The question you should be asking yourself is simple, if you had the means and the motivation to help your lineage continue to grow, WHY WON'T YOU? |
MyGeneration:Federal government or Buhari, what's the difference? We know when you mention Federal government you're not referring to your Senators....lol. Yes, seaport is hard but it can be accomplished. We all know politics is about bargaining, how then do you bargain with someone when you don't support him during elections and half of your people want nothing to do with Nigeria? Which was why I said GEJ was your best bet but una BLEW it! Many Easterners and SS people benefited greatly from GEJ. Many of your leaders fattened their pockets and that of their families guess that was more important than fighting for seaports or more federal allocations. I'm not blaming anyone, every region in Nigeria is equally guilty of complacency and being sheep to our heartless leaders...We'll all wake up one day! |
MyGeneration:Hogwash! Even going by your subjective standard, you had powerful governors from the East, wealthy businessmen, adequate representation in the legislative branch including its leadership. You even had GEJ at a point in time, who could have easily been manipulated to support Eastern agenda but NOTHING! You can continue playing victim or you can wake up and start auditing your own internal structure. A revolution can't happen only on the physical level, it must also be mental/behavioral. I'm not here to diminish your claim but if you are honest with yourself, you would realize that even your own leaders don't believe in the Eastern agenda. It's all propaganda! How much is seaport? Do you know how many Easterners own oil blocks? How many Easterners are worth trillions? Combination of all Eastern governors and Senators alone can build a coalition that would bring meaningful development. E.g Instead of siding with a loser like Atiku, they could have bargained with Buhari, 50% of the SE votes for more federal allocations? 70% for perhaps a seaport? This is how it's done even in advanced countries but the truth of the matter is this, your own leaders are only after their pockets. Buhari is not your problem, your problem is the governor/senator/minister that you call brother/sister. |
MyGeneration:Yet we've had Senators, Reps, Ministers and other leaders from the East who did nothing to achieve this. You people cry partisan politics yet the people you chose to represent you ended up being sellouts. The problem is not the federal government or partisan politics, the real issue is within. If your own brothers and sisters sold you out, why the hell won't outsiders do the same? |
What's the point of fighting corruption if there's no accountability? We might as well have allowed GEJ or Atiku to rule, same ni.....SMH! |
Do you want to know why corruption, scamming and so on can never reduce in Nigeria? It is simple, even if you caught the person in the act, some Nigerians would always give the person a pass...E.g - We are all scammers, he did some good before, whta about our politician. It's a deep sickness that I'm afraid no one can cure.....SMH! |
If this is true then we've just seen a classic case of domestic brainwashing. They protested, got injured/killed yet their main man is living like a king. Surely we can't blame this only on ignorance, surely there's a deeper level of foolishness going on among his followers, same foolishness those who kill/injure during elections, ipob movement and so on. No politician/religious leader is worth sacrificing your life for....WAKE UP! |
At the end of the day, Forbes, media personalities and all those hyping him up should be arrested! Most influential Nigerian and so many titles, yet all na scam. I wouldn't be surpirsed if more and more so called big shots are arrested , Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Fulani and so on, one thing is common in Nigeria, scammers are everywhere! Long throat, Gucci, chop life...Until it lands you in jail or mortuary ![]() |
EkperemoEgbabi:Insurance policy is not regulatory compliance. Insurance policy is dependent on the insured paying their monthly or yearly premiums and not doing anything to violate the terms of the policy. In short, you're still at the mercy of Farmcrowdy and so on. The reason banks comply with FDIC is because it is a regulatory requirement enforceable by the government, insurance policy is a private transfer of risk, nothing more! |
Considering that we only have about 2 Billion Christians in the world, I guess about 5 Billion people are heading for hell fire . No need to worry about the goodness of their hearts, doesn't matter if they are cheerful givers, heroes and so on, as long as they don't subscribe to your way of worshipping God then they must surely enter hell fire.......RIDICULOUS ![]() |
salford1:Adapters cost less than 5000 Naira on Amazon, Ebay etc, even cheaper on Aliexpress. If you can buy phone of over 300k, you can afford 5k or even 10k. Bluetooth has gone beyond what you're thinking, version 5.0 allows low energy usuage and better performance. My Beats wireless provides excellent sound quality especially when combined with Dolby Atmos on Samsung.....Wire is a thing of the past, don't be surprised if all mobile phones do away with it....lol |
Nickshrapnel:Basically it is outdated technology, the evolution of bluetooth and the emergence of adapters, makes it less intriguing. Trust me 8GB/12GB of RAM is much more valuable to Samsung users than jack. Can't wait to root this baby along with the galaxy tab s6 ![]() |
My people for the sake of your sanity and well-being, make sure you have a lawyer and friends in the force. Nigeria is a place where everything is about power, even when innocent, you could spend decades in jail. I repeat for your sanity, especially when acquiring wealth and assets, PROTECT YOURSELF! |
Travel advisory or not, my people would gladly port to the USA when given the opportunity. Yeye Amenesty International, they did not issue advisory under Obama but gladly did it under Trump, forgetting that issue of gun violence in the U.S is a collective problem. Neither the Dems or the GOP can solve the problem without fundamentally altering the American Constitution. When you now add mental illness, kids on 4 to 5 prescirption drugs per day and overall decay in family values, well what you get is CHAOS! |
She's older, a PH.d holder and pobably richer than you. What exactly will you be offering her aside companionship? Do you have kids yourself? Have you ever been married? Realize you're not just getting her but the children as well, are you ready for that? How would your own family feel? Do you know the circumstances surrounding the death of her husband? My brother there are more questions than answers right now, I suggest you shine your eyes and mind well well, this is like your own Ph.D. Take it very seriously! |
No mind the referee, him too dey listen to motivational speakers....."Think it and it shall be" ![]() |
ArcSEMPECJ:Ogbeni chill....Same people wey colonized us colonized the USA ![]() |
maasoap:Lol...deterrence by killing, typical Nigerian spewing rubbish! |
Funaki:I'm not saying they all have motives but he definition that they can't be a means to an end is just plain wrong. In case you haven't noticed, Congress is getting dumber and dumber by the day.....lol. I mentioned having guns would lead to people being able to protect themselves better. This is true especially in a country like Nigeria where you have to wait hours upon hours before the police shows up, that is if they actually show up at all. Nobody said giving guns to people without any restrictions, nobody said we have to practice the American system of things and nobody said Nigeria was near ready for such things. The truth is we have to have some form of accountability and yearly recertification before guns can be sold to the public in Nigeria. Ultimately it boils down to this, who would you trust with your life when it is in imminent danger? The Nigerian police or yourself? I choose to bet on myself, some people might like the Nigerian police better, to each its own.....LMAO! |
Ajsmart:250th overall not just 2019.....Nice try tho...lol |
maasoap:Protection, deterrence to name a few. Educate yourself! |
