sanpipita:Your reference to Fulani herdsmen is all I need to know about you....Be gone you tribal bigot! |
LiveByNight:He is a better musician than his brother. He wrote most of their lyrics but unfortunately his brother has more swags and dance moves than him, which is something most Nigerians gravitate towards....lol |
These are the people you want to emulate? The people who taught us our traditions and cultures are backwards, that the woman holds dominion over the man. The people trying to spread homosexuality around the world, these people? They've been banging animals for years, they've even recently started marrying their pets. These are your role models? Africa wake up! |
LordReed:Which is why I brought up the ridiculous analogy of homosexuality and some pedophiles. Consent here is meaningless in the eyes of morality. In certain societies they'll condemn homosexuals and allow pedophiles to run free, in others they'll condemn the pedophiles and allow the homosexuals. Each society has its own moral compass regardless of legality or consent! |
LordReed:Why are you saying things I never for once said? My claim has always been that legality is not a barometer for morality, just because homosexuality is legal in the USA does not make it morally justified more than pedophilia. Just because pedophilia is allowed in Angola, Japan and other countires does not make it morally acceptable than homosexuality. So I don't know what your argument is exactly? |
LordReed:Does that not prove my point? Legality does not equal morality! In Japan and Angola age of consent is 13. Yet would you allow your 13 year old daughter to engage in sexual activity just because she gave her consent to the guy? https://www.ageofconsent.net/world |
budaatum:You get me wrong, I'm not saying all rape cases are termed mental illness, I'm saying it is a consistent form of defense for rapist. Nowhere did I say all sexually abused kids end up as rapists, all I said was that it is a form of mental illness and can lead to rape. http://www.heretohelp.bc.ca/factsheet/childhood-sexual-abuse-a-mental-health-issue |
LordReed:And I pointed out that legality does not always equal morality. In some countries a 16 year old is able to give consent. In some countries it is 13 yrs but this does not mean it is morally acceptable. Consent in the eye of the law does not always translate to morality. I bought up rights to show the ridiculousness of the situation. Those claiming gays have certain rights are looking at it from legality or lack of legality. |
budaatum:I'm not here to give you a lesson on psycho analysis, Google will help you out with that. All I can give you are scenarios, a child was sexually abused while growing up several times, he grows up to see the behavior as normal human relations. He performs the same acts over and over again till he gets caught. If you believe trauma does not cause some type of mental illness then you are sadly mistaken. There have been several court cases in which mental illness was cited as a crucial factor regarding rape, this is very difficult to prove, same way it is difficult to prove that a gay person was born that way or can't help themselves. If you need the court cases, I can provide you some links, if not no wahala! |
budaatum:It depends on the point of view. That of the rapist or the victim? Rapists will claim they can't help it, same reason homosexuals and pedophiles give when caught. So what makes one right over the other? |
LordReed:The laws in several states in the U.S is that a 16 year old is enough to declare his or herself an adult. Would you be okay if your daughter gave her consent then? What of countries where homosexuality is unlawful? Would you be alright with gays being imprisoned or killed? Legality has never been a proper barometer for morality. What's legal in one country might be illegal in another, what's moral in one country might be immoral in another! |
Michellekabod1:I'm not disputing that, the argument here was that gays are somehow more morally justified because they have consent and the pedophiles are more vile because they do not have consent. |
Michellekabod1:Who told you pedophiles only go after kids without consent? Did you know in most states in the U.S, anyone 25 or older that is in a relationship with a minor is considered a Pedophile? For example, a 25 year old guy and a 16 or 17 year old teenager. Pedophiles just like gays use the same principle to invoke acceptance, "They were created this way". |
Michellekabod1:Do you know most pedophiles can't help themselves? They love kids romantically, why should they be denied their feelings and right to love? Did you know some people are now marrying their pets and having carnal knowledge of them? These people also claim their right to love, is it normal? I disagree with bullying but don't disagree with the right to dislike their lifestyle. I don't disagree with the right to distance myself from them. |
This is why I'll never pity any yahoo guy or girl that gets caught. See the useless number of people supporting them. Cold, heartless sons of b**ches! If you were targeting large businesses that could afford to write off the fraud as part of normal business operations, most people would not say a word but you target the pensioners, the immigrants who work 60+ hours per week waking up at 4am, just to save enough for old age. You target the widows, the heart broken and helpless. Amount of people that have committed suicide due to your cold heart is too much to speak of, yet you claim reparations for something you took no part of. If your great great grandfather was a slave, you would bear an English name not a local name in which you shame with each passing day......SPIT! |
Human beans fighting for human rice, next thing we g hear dem don go Aso Rock, now stew full everywhere . In all seriousness, i is not until you attack the presidency before you can effect change as a celebrity. Most of them know commissioners, miisters, governors and so on, why not start small and grow from there? Why not start in one State and let it be a model for the rest? |

Damn...people are really suffering. Imagine borrowing 5k and not being able to pay back. Even worse imagine the person that loaned you the money is depending on that 5k for survival. This country is beyond repairable. |
espeeroke:First of all, I can tell you are uncultured hence the reason you need to result to insults before making a point. No country with a high tier GDP is considered poor, Nigeria is the only abnormally with about 50% poverty rate. Next, poverty index is measured by monetary figures, precisely $1.90 is used as a benchmark. Which means anyone surviving on less than that a day is considered poor. That is about $60 per month or 21,000 Naira per month. If you are saying that 85% of Nigerians are surviving on less than that per month then you are sadly mistaken. I can bet both of my Masters degrees that Nigeria does not have 85% of it's people poor! Next time you want to insult someone, make sure you know what the f**k you're talking about! |
espeeroke:Show me what you mean by abject poverty? 85% of Nigerians live in poverty yet we represent highest numbers of internet subscribers in Africa(111 million), yet we represent top 10 GDP in Africa. Even the most credible of sources can only say 50% of Nigerians live in poverty yet you think you are smarter than them? Keep deceiving yourself, unless you're an almajiri or living in the village somewhere, you are not in abject poverty, you've got a phone, you buy data. Abeg go sit down ![]() https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/26/africa/nigeria-overtakes-india-extreme-poverty-intl/index.html |
espeeroke:Poverty capital of the world yet you have money to subscribe and type on Nairaland? LMAO.....Nigeria is not poor, it's just corrupt....Money dey, are you brave enough to grab it? |
ITALY NA NO MAN'S LAND.....SORRY I MEANT LAGOS ![]() |
ibietela2:It's very easy to file taxes, my people just never bother to educate themselves, my wife worked for LIRS for years, I've owned businesses for years now both in America and Nigeria. Before the IRS made things easy with online payment, people had to visit their office just for assessment. The problem with Nigeria is that we get comfortable when the government does not do is job. If the tax collectors did no disturb you, you won't even bother about taxes hence the root of our problems. |
1miccza:Yes speak up but also pay your taxes and obey the laws.....Politicans and government people are wicked but we must not let them turn us to savages ![]() |
1miccza:Agree! Which brings us back to the topic at hand, can we really blame the government when we contribute to the problem? Nigeria will never be great because the body and head are rotten. Nigerians are born, corrupted by their environment, grow up into politicians/business people and big shots then end up making life moe difficult for their fellow Nigerians. It's a vicious cycle! |
1miccza:Sorry I disagree with you, especially the bold part. Yes the system is inept and faulty but those who manipulate it are also guilty. We make excuses for every negative thing in this country, from yahoo boys who are just jobless and taking back what their great great great grandfather lost to agberos who are just trying to survive. Our moral compass is so broken that we find it easy to blame the government but we don't realize we are the government. |
Xisnin:Your moral compass is dead! If legality was the barometer for morality, there would be little or no consequence for most negative actions. Someone rapes a woman, he was never caught and roams about publicly, such a person according to you is not a criminal. I never said criminals have no rights, I said voting rights. Real criminals lose certain rights after conviction, this is a fact and not really worth arguing over! |
Xisnin:Lol.....You apparently are ignorant! We actually agree here, enforcement in Nigeria is lacking hence the reason most people default. With regards to your last statement, many criminals are roaming about because enforcement and the justice system is inept, this does not take away from the fact that they are criminals. E.g- Mob bosses, yahoo boys, embezzlers etc. |
ibietela2:They do and so do Nigeria. The only difference is that the enforcement agencies such as IRS in the U.S are feared. The IRS can ruin you and you'll have nowhere to run to. In Nigeria, bribery and padi padi is our logo.....lol |
1miccza:We have laws, we have agencies responsible for enforcement but Nigerians will not adhere. The only thing we respond to is force. Even Omotola cannot say with full confidence that she is paying her fair share of taxes. You can't complain of a problem when you are contributing to it. |
1miccza:In advaced countries, if you don't pay taxes while eligible, you're a criminal. Criminals end up in jail, criminals have no voting rights, criminals are never taken seriously in political discourse. You can't criticize the governemnt's ineptness towards the economy while sabotaging the economy by not paying your fair share. |
permit:There are countries poorer, dirtier and less blessed than Nigeria but their youths prefer to farm, live modestly than to become criminals. All the people complaining that there are no opportunities, are the same people who refuse to farm, work odd jobs or use their intelligence to make something that they can sell. There's always an excuse to do the wrong thing, politicians steal so everyone must steal? |
