RoadMozart: Honestly I'm touched by this your story.... I think we should swap. Maybe you come to 9ja while I take your place there. Because to me all these complains are nothing compared to what's going on in 9ja Anytime people complain about their reality abroad, you lots are always too quick to throw in the "swap" nonsense. But... when Lagosians tell you to leave Lagos and go back to your village, we all get angry. You want to complain about Lagos that is obviously better than our villages but yeah...Nigerians in Canada should not complain because (same reason). How are you better than ronu people? |

Do what works for you. Many 7 year old kids in Lagos jump buses, okada, and keke to school on their own. Errand na small thing. Meanwhile, in some families, kids don't go to school without their parents in the same chaotic Lagos. There's no principal manual.
The only bad thing is that you and your wife are yet to come to an agreement. Every form of disrespect has consequences. |

Nazgul: Haba, how can you compare a comfortable and secured office to this place where she's prone to sexual abuse, kidnappers, ritualists..etc.
A child assisting his/her dad in a law, accounting, IT...etc firm is actually learning, so education is taking place.
Someone whose parents deprived the privilege of going to school and gave her goods to sell instead isn't learning anything, cos while her mates are advancing academically, she's stuck at that spot struggling to make ends meet. Oh well, now you have added extra facts about her parents and school deprivation. I had no idea you knew the family personally. My initial point is that a random picture from a family you don't know can't be used to draw conclusions. As a matter of fact, children are on holiday. So there is nowhere else a child should be other than where her parents sell their market. Safer than leaving her with one brother segun or brother emeka, their next door neighbor. I am not a fan of summer schools and 24/7 academics. |

Nazgul: @ bolded Even at that, she's too young to be exposed to such. Let the adult that took her out there Hussle alone. Well, we can't draw any conclusion from this picture. Her only "crime" is that she's born into a poor family. Some rich kids go to their parents office after school. Some don't get to go home until 9pm every day. We can't say such kids are hustling for their parents. |

Hustling for or with her parents? There are two containers there. She's definitely not alone.
Still an abuse though but don't sound like her parents pushed her outside the house to hustle. |

Attasco: Put her maiden name to avoid future problems ooooo Future problems? Well, the car will no longer be relevant in her future. Unless you're already in a troubling marriage, I don't see how buying a car in one's name will cause or prevent anything.. Most of the cars you see on the road today will be gone in 7-10 years. Chances are the car will crumble before their marriage. |

I wish Nigerian men can take care of their sisters like this. God bless you.
You don't have to include his name, but it's okay to let him know your plans. You said this man has been instrumental to you and your family. Talk to him about it, it's a form of respect. Start by seeking his opinion about the idea of getting his wife a car.
Keep the surprise for the woman whose name you're buying the car and watch her husband respect and appreciate you even more. This is the right way to "interfere" in people's marriage. |

Harrynight: Did you read what you just typed?
Just an Hour Flight is 60k with no guarantee of risk free or survival assurance in case of disaste and you said it's very fair. Meanwhile God is God will run for a whole 10 to 12 hours for less than half that amount
The flight might has over 100 passengers on board wile GOD IS GOOD just 14
One hour flight shouldn't worth more than 40/50k
As at when I used to pay Flight tickets from Lagos to Uyo for 15k God is God was about 5k same destination
That's 10k difference
What's happening now Erroneous interpretations everywhere. The difference between 5k and 15k is 10k to market women, but in the realm of economics, it's a 200% increase. By your own calculations: when GIG sells ticket for 30k, flight should be 90k, not 40k (market women calculation). |

Frankly, airline is relatively cheap. No justification for charging less than 60k for a 1 hour trip while God is Good Motors charge around 30k for a journey of over 10 hours with high risk (robbery, kidnapping). In fact, airline only increased their fees recently. It's always been a 10-15k difference between airline and road trips (totally not worth it). Airline operators have been fair. |
