Family › What's Your Weird Experience In Your Rented Apartment? by AFONAMARO(op): 1:18pm On Apr 24, 2020 |
Some years ago, I rented this beautiful house and was feeling fly. While trying to do some electrical work in the apartment, the guy selling electrical parts close to the crib asked me if i made adequate enquiry before paying and moving in.
We were just 3 tenants in the building. The first guy that worked in a rig became broke all of a sudden to the extent that he couldn't pay PHCN bill. He eventually lost his job and moved out.
The one by my right was into spare parts and was doing fine. During his child dedication, it was massive and all.
One day, he woke up to see a stranger eating in his kitchen at about 1am or so. The young couple were so afraid to even say a word let alone shouting till day break when they narrated the story to me.
A new lady moved in after the rig guy left since he couldn't afford the rent. She was an HR executive and has this white dude she was dating that comes to see her often.
After few months of moving in, she started having issues with the white dude and they broke up. She got suspended at work and could not meet up with her rent and eventually left.
After I clocked a year in the apartment, the landlord came to me and said It appears am doing well and had not gotten him a drink. I smiled and told him i will do so. After that visit I had a serious query at work, my allowances stopped coming for months. Then I recalled that there was a day the landlord came to do some rituals in front of the gate. He tied three live cocks to three different sticks and allowed them die and decay till vultures came to eat them up.
After few weeks he came to me again saying that he had checked on me earlier. Then i asked him when as i had been home all through. That was when he told me that he checked on me at about 1am in the midnight. I immediately warned him with loud voice shouting and chased him outside with a warning that, if i ever see him around my flat again, I will kill him.
I left that apartment without seeing through my rent.
Let's hear your weird experiences renting/staying in an apartment. |

Romance › Re: Should I Lend My Boyfriend Money? by AFONAMARO: 12:49pm On Apr 22, 2020 |
Trayceey: Fellow nairalanders,
I have a pressing issue on ground and I need your contribution. My boyfriend has been working for about 5 years now. We've been dating for a while now and he has been so nice and caring. The best ever.
In my past experience in relationships, I have been quite generous but the guys turned out to be ingrates so I vowed never to give any boy my penny again.
When I met my man, he melted my hardened heart with the love he showered on me. On one occasion, I have borrowed him money and he paid me back. Now he's asking me to borrow him another money. Because of this lockdown, he has gone so broke and he opened up to me. Initially, I did not believe him but when I noticed he has run out of food stuffs and the provisions he normally stock his house with, I believed him. I have more than enough money. The money he's asking for is like chicken change to me. But I don't want him to get used to borrowing from me and I have vowed never to give a guy my money again except if he's my husband.
Please I need advice. Fellow ladies like me, what do you think? Should I borrow him? Don't you think you're being mean? If the table is turned around, would he hesitate to reach out? You are indeed a wicked person for saying what he is asking for is like a chicken feed, yet you need the approval of faceless people in a forum to decide if you will allow your boyfriend that you said is so good to you to starve. Shame!!! |

Family › Re: Marriage Palava part 3 by AFONAMARO: 5:15pm On Apr 18, 2020 |
deleSayo: Our marriage has always had issues from the beginning (as you can see in my previous threads) but we passed it off as normal marital issues which we eventually resolved (or so i thought).
Just when i thought things had began to improve between us, i noticed my wife is no longer interested in sex with me and counting now, it's been 6 months since we had anything to do with each other intimately. I tried to joke around about it just to find out her reasons and she joked back with me saying that for the past 6 years she's known me, i haven't changed from these habits:
1. spending all night in front if the tv, sometimes till 3am in the morning and when i eventually come to bed, i snore so bad and this made her go buy earplugs to help her cope with it. when she said this, i felt so offended that i began to sleep in the guest room and she never apologised or begged me to come back to our matrimonial bed (for 3 weeks now) 2. she always complains that i eat too much and my weight has skyrocketed within the past couple of years. and that my late nights in front of tv means im snacking throughout the night . yes this is true to be fair but the truth is that ive ballooned so much in size that i now lack motivation to do anything about it . 3. she has also complained about my breath to the point that she purchased tongue brush for me which i refuse to use as i find it quite rude that she would say such to me.
The only time we spend together as a couple is when she comes to join me in front of the tv after work. Then by 9pm she's off to bathe our son and put him to bed, from there she's goes to sleep, leaving me alone to watch tv into late hours of the night/morning.
I know for a fact that my wife isnt cheating and apart from sex we have a good friendship. but my problem with her is that her overt and covert behaviour towards sex shows someone who is irritated by me and that makes me feel quite offended. Why are you chasing shadows when the real image is before you? You are aware that your breath stinks, and instead of accepting help that's already been extended to you, you're here forming Alpha Male. Landlord, it's called Love Making and not wrestling nor boxing. Shed that weight as it ain't sexy nor healthy. Practice proper oral hygiene and engage in exercise to be better and get your wife back into the game. Love Making isn't meant to be managed, but to be enjoyed. |

VivleBriella: Good day everyone I've been a guest for a couple of years now, created an account to seek advice
My dear nairalanders, does it always end well marrying the Breadwinner of a family? He's the last born with 4 elder siblings but they all depend on him, yes, I knew he was the Breadwinner from day one but I thought with time, everyone else will be able to stand on their own, but it hasn't happened yet, we've dated for 3yrs now and he doesn't support me financially, I don't complain but he feels entitled to my money and when I get tired of him always asking me to lend him some money and decide to say no, he nags and tells me I'm not being supportive enough, this is driving me really crazy cause he reminded me of how unsupportive I've been to him and his family, he's driving me insane, you can't possibly put the responsibility of your family on my shoulders, that's crazy and insensitive, over the years, I've borrowed him nothing less than 500k which I know for sure he's never giving back, is it normal to be in a parasitic relationship whereby the female remains the host that's being fed on?
I'm only 24 while he's 31. You need to quit this relationship ASAP. Your man is already pushing his family's responsibility as well as his to you, and this is a very bad sign. No responsible man with good intentions nags his girlfriend (not wife) for not assisting his family. You may also need to decline any further monetary assistance from him to ascertain if he's in love with your or your money. If he wants to die carrying a load that's obviously bigger than him, then he should carry it alone and keep you away from it |

It happened to me. Like my blood line today is married to a guy that chyked me for years. This my blood line knows that this guy tried to date me. As in he kept coming to our house look for me for months. My mum and all my siblings knew him very well. It got to a point he threatened to harm me if he sees me with any other guy but luckily, we relocated to another place. Only for my blood sister to bring this same guy as a suitor. dang! I just keep wondering, so she had been attracted to him all this while? Someone I dislike to the core? Hm! Fear human beings.
Till today, if I go visiting this guy will be telling me him and I have an unfinished business and some annoying silly talks. So most times when I visit, I'll hide away until I go back. Mehn... It sucks! So your relatives should stay away from any suitor you turned down because you are the Queen Mother? Akuko uwa? |

Hausaboy239: Am still caught up in this! Had this girl i was dating since 2015,i was 20 in my 300level and she was 18,we really liked each other so much but her parents got someone they thought was good for her, you may have an idea of how northern parents impose marriage on their daughters. The man they chose for her was much older atleast he was up to 45 then although she didn’t like him but there was nothing she could do. We weren’t getting intimate before the marriage issue came up but we started having sex a month before her marriage,we even had sex on her wedding day.
Fast forward to after her marriage,we promised each other we were going to keep off each other but after some months we were back making calls and chatting though she was in another state and i was in school.
More than a year passed by,we were on and off but were fooling ourselves that we were just friends. Whenever she has problems with her hubby i will be the first person she will look for cause she can’t report to her parents(they’re blinded by his money). Unfortunately i was done with uni and went to serve in Abuja and that was were it started again, she was staying there and the husband had traveled abroad and was staying for bout 8months there.
Cut the story short,we started seeing each other often and anytime we met it happened to the extent that we got used to it! I finished serving 2017 and got a job in Abuja, she’s still with her husband but we still hook up anytime she’s chanced though it could take months sometimes but I really feel bad when I think bout it and i sincerely want to call it off!
Pls how can i do stop it? Be knacking another man's wife untill they cut your young John. Mpama! |
Travel › Re: Lockdown: Onitsha Inner Neighbourhoods (Aerial Pictures) by AFONAMARO: 9:48pm On Apr 12, 2020 |
sreamsense: You are comparing this with Ibadan, are you not ashamed? Onitcha by landmass is 52km square while Ibadan alone is 3,080km square by landmass. If you put all these your beautiful houses in Ibadan, it can not fill one local government in ibadan.
If you divide Ibadan by Onitcha i.e 3080/52 = 60; this implies you will see 60 Onitcha cities in 1 Ibadan. Beautiful houses are spread in Ibadan because of landmass while Onitcha houses are compacted in a small landmass area that can not fill half of one local government in Ibadan.
Out of 33 local governments in Oyo state, Ibadan alone has 11 local government areas. If you divide 60 by 11, you have approximately 6, it means Onitcha city as a whole can only fill 1/6th of a single local government in Ibadan.
Can you now see how funny you people are when comparing Onitcha with Ibadan? Google is your friend, you can do the calculation and research by yourself. Empty barrel makes loudest noise! And upon your empty noise, if you never reach that brown roof republic to hawk gala and hustle in multitude, you never reach your 'Obodo-oyinbo' Are you actually comparing a state capital with a city? Anyways, the businesses and infrastructures in Onitsha alone will develop Ibadan |

Now, to the solution. It's going to be a hard one. I don't know how you can handle what am about to advise but with your patience and manly stand, I think you would be able.
Op, this life, we are faced with different tribulations. Yours will differ from mine. To be frank, you went too far and now you have to be bold enough to face the consequence. It's just like couples checking each other's phone. They will definitely see something they never planned. Either get depressed or break up.
You have two options but before you take any, let the children in question be your first reason to decide
The first option is, tell your wife and seek for divorce. If you divorce, your daughter would live separately which is a problem to you because rarely would have the chance to train her.
Second, take it as your destiny. The greatest secret you will take down to your grave. Accept fate, forgive and move on as if nothing happened. It's easy said than done but that's the truth. We all have secrets and this should be added to yours. Love your wife as well. I don't quite follow. Why should he live separately with his daughter? Option 2: Why should he take it as his destiny? We are really funny with our assertions in here. @op, a woman that can push another man's child to another (a son at that), is capable of killing you.. You need to separate from that woman. But before you do, trace the origin of the boy and why he was pushed to you. I feel there is a wicked plan between your wife and the boy's dad |
