Did you see anywhere in the article that says he is Nigerian?
No. But Mentioning that is a Bayero University, Kano [Visiting] Lecturer from Tanzania would have been more sincere. Being disingenuous is withholding relevant information that'll help others process a story better.

I read once that the term Sub-Saharan has racial
Connotations with its primary use by Europeans to classify 'Black africans' from the rest of the lighter skinned Northerners.

Since then I smile whenever the word is used.

They want to finish southern Nigeria before 2023 so that they can keep the presidency.
Really?

Why do 'they' have to 'destroy' to win.

They already 'won' in 2015 & 2019 without having to destroy the south. What makes 2023 different?

North is another planet on it own
Actually ALL regions of Nigeria practice(d) 'underage' marriages.

What happened overtime is that the region(s) most influenced by Western culture had gradually phased out the widespread practice.

The 'North' is the last bastion of relic cultural practices in Nigeria. Hardly touched by westernization and so the elite capitalize on this.

Really sad about your travails.

But how do you 'promise' God that you will not abort any pregnancy of the lady you're involved with (being unmarried).

That's like a Kindnapper promising God that he'll not kill any of his kidnap victims.

CelebritiesRe: Nigeria Without Social Media - The Top 11 Things That Will Happen by Asour: 3:23am On Oct 05, 2021
Think of it this way:

They'll do what they'd have done if their was no
Social media.

Humans adapt.
Why not ask the thousands of Oil industry workers in Nigeria what they'd have done if God did not bestow us with such minerals. Of course you won't.
Why? Because you subconsciously think these social media guys have it easy. They seem to be enjoying stress-freely.

Well, why not try it? Open an Instagram page today and test for yourself.

I just hope this OP is joking and my comments too can be taken jocularly.
otherwise, be informed that (I'm not myself a social media person) these guys put in the work — and sacrifice (N.B. I'm not referring to the Yahoo guys/people of easy virtues) required in their crafts. Perhaps even more than many of us traditional 9-5ers.

Nice Point.

Maybe not jealousy but slight ignorance.
It's funny that it didn't occur to the OP that these 'jobless' people created a niche out of social media on their own. A feat that not easily achievable.

Why does the OP think that they all are in incapable of being creative outside of Instagram/Facebook?
These guys are filling a need! They'll not be what they are if they don't fill a need. Whether or not they can weather a No-instagram world is theirs to show not for the Op to decide.

FamilyRe: Tips For Mothers On How To Survive This Harsh Nigerian Economy by Asour:

Cut down on provision......
Check their school oooo,if the fee is too much,go for a cheaper one.it is same scheme, everywhere.

Modified:stop unnecessary recharge of digital TV,use free to air.At all times, women should try to stop any unnecessary nagging of their husbands, road dey red!!! Keep your kids away from children whose parents gives unnecessary/expensive snacks, always explain to them that the economy is not soft at all, you will be surprised that they will understand.
Nice.

Although even if Education is the same scheme everywhere, the execution is NOT.

I've come to realize that quality education(not necessarily expensive by the way) at the foundation levels is a huge advantage. Depending on a child's natural aptitude, if the foundation is weak, they'll suffer the effects possibly forever. Even 'expensive' schools are getting a lot wrong at the foundation.

My solution?

While you opt for the 'cheap' school, take more interest in the child learning progress from creche to 10 yrs to complement the 'cheap' school work.

Online resources are now available.
E.g.
Curriculum pathways.
Studypug.
Saylor academy.

Etc.
*Studypug is a paid service but it's worth it.
Invest in a PC for their learning and get a MIFI service strictly for learning.

Be involved to assess their progress.
If you're able to get them (children) self motivated and confident at learning at 10 yrs, you already have a head start.

Cheers.
God help us.

fulanis are now on operation devide and rule tactics... they know BIAFRA is coming as soon as possible, they will kill innocent igbos and find a way to tag IPOB in it.... that's the tactics they have been using to rule the yorubas and igbos.. they are even now using igbos names to comment rubbish against IPOB..
Malafia was not a CBN governor. Besides his words shouldn't be taken wholly. No man's words should be taken wholly without reasoning.

His death was sad though, but do you have evidence that he was killed? Let's balance outrage with reason.

Why involve tribe in everything.
Isn't that a dumb thing to do?
Or people from your tribe have never committed a crime before
LoL.

Not all who make such remarks are tribalistic.

Some are being sacarstic. Sarcastic in a way that draws our collective attention to other forms of generalizations made by many Nigerians when they observe that a certain group is highly predisposed to a certain crime /vice.

E.g.1, Many people here never bat an eyelid to snide Islam when terrorist acts looms in the north. Perharps, because we all feel it is common to that group.
E.g. 2, Tribalism is rife in Nigeria yet many Nigerians are quick to point to racial discrimination elsewhere in other countries.

I don't agree with them, but they help show us our collective weaknesses as a people when we are not at the receiving end.

Just word of mouth and no deep analysis !!

How much do you make in a month? Tax payments? Workers salaries? Any loan or pending loan payments? Liabilities?
He obviously left those out.
They may exist.

The problem in Nigerian business space is that both trust 'capital' and legal negotiations are low to non-existent.

I suppose there are many working /business class Nigerians with good idle savings that could serve as investment capital for others but would be (rightly) reluctant to do this because trust is LOW even among supposed friends.

Low trust/confidence robs the Nigerian economy of $bns yearly in ways many never think of.
This fellow here is obviously reluctant to provide details for the same reasons — scepticism & low trust.

This is a wrong advice. You can still marry late and still regret your life.
But you would have less time alive to suffer your regrets.

The intensity of a regret is worsened by the time available to one to face it.
