Masonkaycares:If he had left or IF he was allowed to leave? Apparently the fellow didn't have as much power in the club as many claim. To not be able to save yourself. |
jesus247alive:Not to justify mediocrity BUT these are apple to Oranges comparisons here. Ghana's population is under 30 million. The landmass is also closely reachable. That's the population of Lagos + Other Nigerian state. Our terrain is also far flung. Some across large rivers. Never mind a population exceeding 200m! That's massive! |
Yankee101:Budgets are NOT financed by Own money alone. Besides allocation, Loans, IGR efforts, PPP arrangements can be arranged. Besides Finance requires resourcefulness too. |
davillian:Any android keyboards can be changed from Qwerty style. There are other styles including , PC, azerty, dvorak etc . Keyboard styles for android. Android being android IS VERY flexible and this includes seemingly small things like keyboard style. |
PoliticalHunter:This is a very good /commendable deed. Most Nigerians may be hardworking however, it's hard to argue that most Nigerians are honest. You do realize that the word most mean at least more than 50% right? I hope we become honest as a people but we are clearly not there yet. Honesty is a rarity in Nigeria today. It isn't the normative behaviour yet. |
NORSIYK:How can it be said that he decides who becomes who when he couldn't even determine his own fate? He himself was held! All our allegations of "Powerful" Messi turned out false as the man who was all powerful couldn't even save himself. |
techmo:Not true. Melinda gates was a brilliant Duke educated Computer science graduate employed by Microsoft. NOT a secretary. She graduated in 1986. Bill gates was a Billionaire(per forbes) by 1987. She was in school then. Buffet himself sadly later had marital issues that led to separation with wife. He chalked it up as being due to overwork. Well accentuates our EXISTING behaviors that may have lacked expression. Good or bad. |
daewoorazer:Your point is understandable BUT not true. Do you know that in Modern history, Churches/Pastors/Religion actually initiated and developed some of the world's best educational institutions including Harvard, Oxford University, KU Leuven, Jesuis College etc. In fact the motto of Oxford university is Dominus Illuminatio mea Meaning "The Lord is my light". John Harvard, the Man who Harvard was named after was an English Minister. Religion(Christianity) isn't opposed to Science/Research. It relishes in it to unearth God's Wonder. Moreover DON'T judge a concept(Religion) based on the abuse of it or in its abused form. Obviously it'll fail all assessments. Cheers. |
Man at best is a Man. God help us. |
oluwaseyi0:I'm afraid that the write up may have been wrongly worded. This kind of exclusionary policy would NOT be written but implied. Also "black" there would mean Nigerian. Such a policy is not as rare as you imagine. For obvious reasons. |
Idiotseverywher:True. But the fact that you doubt means that the possibility exists. Did we think that a leader worst than PGEJ would take over? See where we are now. Always know that no matter how bad life is, IT CAN STILL BE WORSE. We keep trying and pushing on NOT fawning over a lesser BAD situation. Thanks. |
psucc:Is apologizing for criticizing justly really a virtue JUST because the next leadership is Worse? This administration has not done well so criticize it what's the point apologizing to a prior (far from perfect) leadership? How low can this get? Peradventure (and trust me this is very possible) we get a leader worst than PMB in performance come 2023 do we then come back to apologise to Buhari? When does the apologies end because to me it looks like we've had progressively bad leadership since 1999 should we then keep apologizing to all past leaders? God help us! |
9icest:Northerners invading Lagos. Wow! Never knew a citizen of a country moving to another part of the country was invasive. And even if I am not a fan of some northern practices e.g. Hisbah, Shariah but invasive is not the right word. Could you also tell us how many Southerners "invade" Lagos from east/south to hustle? As per your avoidance of overdependence, well for now they have the Competitive advantage of agricultural production than the south. Is this overturnable ? Maybe, I don't know. But for now don't merely refer to it as overdependence, call it what it is: The north is a valuable trade partner to our country Nigeria in agriculture. So hard to give credit right? |
Juliusmalema:How does a South west governor now provide for ndi Imo specifically? How does that even work? Is that even possible? Not even Igbos but ndi Imo. This is just a courtesy call. No need for these stately specifics. |
Gerrard59:To be true (depending on the state he resides in) he can afford to in many Nigerian states. However this is NOT without qualifications. E.g. No children for a while., A Rather minimalist lifestyle and commitment to save and improve earnings. Now the MAJOR issue is the Nigerian society. One element of our cultural thinking that has become a trap is the clamour for large weddings. It's hard to argue that a Wedding is usually the average Nigerian [Youth's] Single largest Project. And this project ends in a day or 2! It's a Big war to do any different. Society (including family) would fight back. God help us. |
Donald7610:This is a very hasty generalization. Even if it was true it would be very expensive to experiment/validate this claim. Again agricultural success at Commercial scale hinges on scale, crop yield, quality and consequently pricing. If we assume without agreeing that Ogun CAN produce these things, CAN Ogun produce it at the scale, yield, quality and prices supplied by the existing Northern sources? In business, lacking a competitive advantage and venturing notwithstanding isn't wise. Even if capacity exists. An appeal to emotions when logic is needed usually leads to tears. |

olaboy33:It is lucrative however I think that its usefulness isn't apparent yet to corporate leaders so you have to show them how it can drive VALUE. Typically you should have a BSc. and an IT certification in Analytics(MCSA BI Reporting, MCSE Data Management & Analytics). Apply and seek for Data Analytics roles in Corporate firms. See certbolt.com for certification practice questions. In addition to being skilled in SQL, Python /R and Excel, be adept at Business Statistics. (Can read Business Statistics by Ken Black, quite large but can be a lifelong read) Improve your communication skills. Be able to make complex concepts understandable quickly by lay people and be interested (You don't have to love) in the Business you are in. Read about their KPIs, variables that drive performance etc. Read as much as you can and seek out opportunities to automate & optimize business decisions and processes within the firm. Seek for more challenging opportunities. God help us. |
masterP042:This is not really true. Depending on what you call much, Oil account for 30% of the UAE's GDP. In Dubai, its most popular city, it's 5% or so. https://www.uae-embassy.org/about-uae/uae-economy |
pyyxxaro:The whole Prison break saga was clearly suspect. No single gunshot. The main prison gate not broken. How come the Ikoyi prison break failed? How come no other state experienced the break as it happened in Benin? Many unanswered questions. I may agree that the break was due to someone's negligence BUT to chalk it all up on #Endsars protest is a poor argument. Mind you the Endsars movement (which I have some reservations about too) started gaining traction since first week of October and was engulfed by violence after 20th This was AFTER sponsored thugs attacked protesters across the country. There are videos online showing government owned cars (identifiable if the authorities want to ) ferrying thugs about. Who sponsored those? Endsars protesters? I am yet to hear a formidable argument from those linking REAL endsars protesters to crimes happening now. Mind you during the COVID19 lockdown we had to (in our estate) come out to keep watch ourselves due to robberies. Police had not been attacked then o! |
sheDD:You're right. I'm not exonerating her. I commented on someone who expected her to know those prices by virtue of being a woman. I'm saying that average retail buying women don't know tonnage prices. Yes. She should know. |
sheDD:They aren't asking for "Common" retail market prices. A Commodities exchange would deal with bulk prices. Tonnes usually. Litres etc . The average Nigerian women who is not a wholesale food dealer wouldn't know too. It's clearly one of those forgotten agencies rarely called upon. |
uruba23:Carrying clothes and shoes doesn't really matter. It's the development results in Lagos that matters. Even I would have loved to be paid based on efforts. But alas the world doesn't pay based on efforts. |
uruba23:Hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha hahaha! You've got to be kidding! Sacrifice? |
tot:If you like to believe yourself, fine. But it's really not true. I am not a Northerner but Atedo Peterside's remarks notwithstanding, Dangote is clearly a shrewd Businessman. I guess you don't know he's had failures too right? If Atedo's right, then the government is clearly wrong. But to then overreach to say he can't compete in a fair system is a joke. |
Redcrafton:Sir. What do you mean maybe? The vast majority of tomato supplies we consume (household & commercial) in Nigeria are grown in the North, including Jos. Sorry but no maybes here the quantities produced anywhere else is just not bankable. Again why put ourselves through this undue stress. Many southerners have always said the North are good for nothing. Why has this rejoinder been met with surprise? Go to Anambra and other industrial hubs to see how many trucks offload goods daily, including for factories. Let's even assume that the south can replace all products currently shipped from the north? At what prices would we provide them. When do we start this agricultural plan? How do we survive in the intervening period? Rest assured our prices would be prohibitive per unit! I stayed in Bayelsa for close to five years and even though it's supposed to be a riverine community, it's fishing industry was without structure. Fish was expensive and the fish rich areas were largely volatile and insecure. The Professor may be correct but is he right (taking the right step)? |
ibuildstuff:So why are Big companies & institutions opposing /forcefully dropping people who don't support LGBT /Pro abortion practices? A few lecturers have been punished for not calling people 'by their preferred pronouns'. I have given examples. |
ibuildstuff:Yes. There used to be. Now, it is harder to do so! I dare say no top American company can openly do this today. Mom & pop stores and small companies, maybe but not major ones. Give me a recent example. Even an allegation by an employee for your assertion can cause boycott for a company today! |
Afamed:Not that it matters much though, but his divorces were 2(Just correcting your exaggeration NOT supporting divorce). Also most Christians (in the USA) have known his ways. The point generally is the suppressive tendencies by american institutions against ANY non liberal position(AKA conservatives). Today, some american Companies can [subtly] sack an employee for refusing to support LGBT rallies or programmes in his company. An american female footballer was shamed and dropped for refusing to wear an LGBT designed jersey. Some years ago, Hobby lobby Founder, David green was chastised for refusing to support abortion related health benefits for his employees. Mozilla CEO was (subtly) forced to resign from his company for not supporting LGBT programmes too. Do you see the pattern? American institutions are generally trying to cut down on any anti Liberal worldviews no matter how harmless such positions are. Trump here is a proxy for support for these suppressed groups. He is an anti establishment figure (so to say) to these power groups. That's generally why they support him. NOT because they gullibly view him as a saint. No. |
Okoroawusa:Shouldn't an investigation be done before the account is frozen and/or she is arrested? Thought that's how the law works. Not arresting her but freezing her account seems highhanded. She committed the purported crime not her account. Right? Even EFcc suspects don't just suffer frozen accounts. They are arrested for investigation. Anyway I don't know the lady but we all should be careful about supporting government's unclear actions. God help us. |
Jakpon:While I am not for or against regional/state policing arrangements, You shouldn't always look at the best examples of a concept to justify its existence. That is just, well, very obvious. The course of decision should be to weight the worse possible examples (e.g The state could become highhanded and overreach with these powers) against these good ones and agree as a society if the trade-off is beneficial. Every decision is in itself a trade-off. |
