Yoonsung52:But the OP never made any assertion as to her being igbo by virtue of her fluency with the language. Besides she never said she wants to be. |
Sunnycliff:Yes. But it is easier if one does go to a good school and really know your craft. Schools provides structure and methods to learning. |
oyinkel:The average Nigerian? Really? If you don't mind, the average Nigerian clearly lacks Integrity and although he/she may be roughly bright, they are usually Incompetent. How do I know? Well average means mode (or the most frequent occurrence) and if we group all Nigerian adults into 2 ; Those with Integrity and the Corrupt what group would have a larger share of Nigerians? If we also group all Nigerians by Competence and we even make 3 groups; The Proficient professional, The Intermediate skilled but dutiful individual and the largely Incompetent/non thorough. What group would rank tops? God help us all though. We can do it. |
daddytime:Please would you know the literal translation of the word "Olopa"? I know it means Police but what's the Literal (the direct) translation? Thanks. |
originalprof:ALL the safety measures to curb the spread of COVID 19 are not fail safe. They aren't guaranteed preventive measures. They just minimize risks. Saying a sufferer is reckless is NOT right unless you know so. God help us/him/his wife. |
Juliusmalema:You are right. But personally, I prefer the backing of the US to all the others you've mentioned combined. |
Cooldipoo:Thanks for the response. What's the difference, with or without inverter? Care to Explain? |
Hambivert:Shares Owned by Executives give rise to potential Insider trading concerns by shareholders & the investment community. To dispel these concerns and to improve Corporate governance, share ownership disclosures are important. Securities malpractices by terrible executives in the past have necessitated these measures. |
SilverNorGold:Hijacked by who? I don't support looting in any way. however, how do you explain keeping COVID palliatives 'till your birthday' when the lockdown ravaged many a families with people begging to feed. COVID palliatives were to be shared upon receipt. This is a joke. Poverty has been weaponized in Nigeria. So sad. |
Okoroawusa:How can it be Falz and Aisha that caused it? You probably would say they fronted the protest. Is this the first protest in Nigeria? The Security agencies are flawed, our leadership is mighty flawed the hoodlums seized the opportunity created by the chaos recently. The protests begun since 1st week of oct. How did it degenerate? |
clintz:Really? The governor (of Lagos) said no fatality was recorded. The FG has recommended hospitals to treat wounded but you think the shooty never happened right? |
NwaNimo1:Wrong. I hope you don't support this. |
dasparrow:But Buhari never won an election without the support (at least in part) of the south. In our nascent democracy, No Northern candidate can win the Presidential elections without the support of (at least) one other major tribe and a few minorities. After 60 years it can't be the British holding us back. We have seen african countries split without results too. Go help us. |
hammerP:How? Britain? |
Patriotic9ja:Show he's wise. Changing one's mind positively is a hallmark of the wise. |
BabaOwen:Sad about the dead BUT people shouldn't vent their anger anyhow they want. ANYHOW is not smart. That's chaos. |
Holyterrorist:Forget about the protest for once and answer the question, How can SARs be disbanded now when they have been disbanded in 2017, 2018 and 2019? Would it also be disbanded in 2021 and 2022 or does their deceit end now. The whole thing is hard to sell to even calm people. Get? |
Jessepaid:Really? You thought people from your tribe are special? Nobody's special. We are all just different. I'm sure you have heard that the good and bad exist in all tribes but you chose to believe what you want. Well here you have it. |
SegFault:The NPF. But if the NPF isn't doing the training (I don't know for sure) should the NAF leadership not do theirs too? No direct relationship exists between the NPF & the NAF. |
SegFault:All divisions of the armed forces have police units. AKA Naval Police, Military Police & Air force Police. These units are essentially police within the armed forces they investigate cases too. Of course the NPF also needs this too but this doesn't stop theirs, does it? |
Juliusmomoh:Sad situation. But no place is truly home. Home is where you make it. No one belongs anywhere. Are you in your LGA and community of origin now? Even if you are, your dad probably moved there from his own father's original abode. My point? We all move. We are all moving the distance doesn't matter. |
cooldipo:Please can I see a sample of your L. Powerbank? How much do they go for ? |
Danzakidakura:It's not an effective idea (in the long term) to COERCE people into adopting your approach to a cause. Persuasion is more effective. Just not coercive guilt tripping. Am I saying the FSARs oppression is right? No! But people should not be coerced or guilt-tripped. Why? Because IF everyone always supports an emerging cause (blanketly), just out of fear of consequences of non support, the whole country would be an echo chamber. And there'll be no genuine opinions on how to better achieve our aims— or sincerely criticize our approaches. Persuasion is always better. |

VEXT:The South South Oil revenues have been crucial to the Nigerian project but to say without you the country would collapse would be ignorant. For one, we don't know whether Nigeria would have focused on developing other resources if oil — and its easy money— didn't blind them. I am sure you know Nigeria has other Mineral/Agricultural resources too. Secondly, Oil comes from (and perhaps is going to be found in other areas outside SS[assuming oil is going to still be relevant in the world]) albeit in small quantities. Thirdly, NOT all countries have oil. And they still exist. Matter of fact, many countries in Sub saharan Africa/Middle east with oil have been environmentally devastated and marked by violence. Almost as though oil became a curse to them. Oil from the SS has been Nigeria's mainstay.TRUE. But saying the country would collapse without it is not that simple. It is like saying without a father (in the home)all children be failures. Well that is quite likely but not certain as I can tell you of many individuals who achieved good successes in their lives without their fathers. |
okpalaAnambra:Those guys have failed to curtail their excesses BUT they do go after armed robbers. In fact they are very effective when serious. Just another institution hijacked by poor ethics. |
Angelfrost:It's not necessarily Religion. It's usually cultural and can be a personal decision too. The Jews and Romans greet with a kiss. That same gesture (a kiss) is abhorrent in another culture. Again, what really is "exposure"? I see many people use is as a synonym for being influenced by Western values I do hope that's not the context you use it. Why do I say so? Well even in the western world, personality differences abound. Different value systems coexist. You must have heard of the liberals and The Conservatives. Even in Britain (UK), the typical British is not expressively given to the outward show of emotions. The British Monarchy exemplify this trait too. I am saying any lifestyle is wrong? No! Within reason, no one should dictate the lifestyle of others or deem them strict. Because to the one you call strict you are probably loose. We should all learn to be accommodating of the lifestyle choices of others. Except where it affects you negatively. The funny reality in all this is that what many describe as being "Romantic" today is effectively the residue of decades of western influences on us. Not that I am against it but most "acts" of modern romanticism would be completely alien to most african pre colonial cultures. This cannot mean that african cultures were devoid of loving and caring familial attitudes. It just means that they didn't demonstrate this by kissing in public, holding hands, giving flowers, celebratng Valentine's days and other niceties of western influence. |
BigSarah:Then we should target those groups who "easily" give in to them. Also, could it be that the North are politically more shrewd and others should learn? |
BigSarah:Politically, No region can win the elections general elections on its own. Even the North cannot win elections on its own in Nigeria. Partnership is required from one other major group or at least a few "minority" groups to effectively win. Most Nigerians don't get this and repeatedly yell North! North! When the North can't really win on its own. |
Kriss216:I thought so too but the whole Boko Haram saga is just complicated. Especially having festered for so long. VOA /BBC hausa had videos on youtube of full fledged communities/LGAs completely controlled by BH. These are far flung northern communities where BH rules indigenes against their wishes and these indigenes have no choice because dissent meant execution. Even those suspect to be government informants are executed. I am saying there are no BH apologist in the north? No, there are many. But there are those ruled by BH against there wishes and forced to be loyal and submit to BH to live. You don't even have to do their bombing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAv3ij3q-jk God help us. Wisdom & grace. Just a sad situation. |
Brachaa:Sad story. But always try to reduce the use of the word "always" in arguments. |
