jlinkd78:Without politics though, he is a very, very brilliant chap. Politics has a way of getting at the best of us. Religion s at times don't help too. The guy is a technocrat. Without politics he would have done very fine. With politics though, it seems he goes low everytime. |
Beverlyjean:Ok. if a team that won the Laliga 2x and had the two world best is a dead team then, You win. |
charlesm91:How was Barca dominant when Real madrid won Laliga back to back 2006-2008. Or you are not aware? If winning Laliga twice in 3 years means madrid was dominated then I rest my case. |
Beverlyjean:Ronaldo is a fantastic player but please tone down the narrative. Technically madrid won the Supercopa de espana and so where not trophiless in 2008/2009. Also the same madrid won the Laliga twice in the last 3 years and was going to welcome Kaka (the world's best 2 years earlier) in the same window. You make it look like he came to a dying team. From 2009 it took 4 years to land the first UCL title. Football is a team game. You are painting heavily biased pictures with this narrative of "he came to save a dead madrid". For instance, Isn't it funny that Robinho was at madrid for basically 3 seasons but then won the same number of Laliga titles as Ronaldo's 9 year stint there? You conveniently ignored that madrid won the league (Laliga) 2 x consecutively before he came. And in 2009 2 of the previous year's balond'or winners would play in Madrid. By the way Messi/Barca performed poorly this season so you don't think I think anything else. |
Commentor:I am all for the rule of law but Nigeria is just a shock joke at times. It is the same Nigeria where property taxes for the rich was conceived in Lagos but gradually died out after the elite worked against it ? God help us. |
oscarmarley:To be honest he shouldn't. Everyone in this world is pushing an agenda (subconsciously or not). What's yours? In this struggle called life one may be deceived to thinking highly of oneself alas it's all a puff. Reminders like his point to what's really important. |
Goke7:Football is a team sport. No one pushed aside the impact of those 2 but Messi is very, very good. In this season he was poor. Very poor. But here's the point, give me any player who was the top scorer (granted in a top 5 league) & top assists in a season and deems that season as poor. Give me one example. In Messi's poor season (this season), he had as many assists than those 2 (individual best season). |
ojaysam25:"Only" ? Good player in his day but he has scored ~10 goals In UCL since ~2017. He isn't the only scape goat by the way. |
frankmoney:You may be right. However, in the history of football, no team has ever pushed out a player who was the top goal scorer/assistant in the league. Especially when no scandal was involved. Is your advice really devoid of sentiments.? |
nairaman66:What exactly is going to happen in Nigeria? A coup? When likely? So that we can call you out IF your prediction fails and also extol your prescience if you're right. |
Mercykayy:How does a 25 year old become a colonel though? Care to share? |
truthsayer009:Hahahahah! I don't know about her. I know little about marriages too BUT you do know that people do things you see as hard, right? People do those things we think are very hard. And they do them consistently. My point? Don't dismiss something as impossible just because you and many other consider it tough. Dismiss things IF you know they are lies. |
lexy2014:Goals/assists and brilliant playmaking. Especially between 2009-2015 but also other years. Hahaha! It's funny you ask this. |
lexy2014:He was overwhelmingly adjudged the most effective player of the club for the decade or so. |
YorubaLord:Yes. But he led the most successful spells in the club's history. |

You are right. I am not a Bitcoin expert, but from what I hear, the tech. Provides simplicity/speed for transactions. Simplicity/speed in finance reduces security from elwhat I know. |
Nickymichy:True. But certainly NOT ALL. Banks have controls. And humans always seek new means to subvert controls. Fraud elimination is a never ending fight. Even the likes of Goldman Sachs, Well Fargo and HSBCs of the world are not immune from this. |
ojuu4u:It would be clumsy. That's the responsibility of the Nigerian Financial intelligence unit. Banks can't police themselves. Some Nigerian banks aren't event saintly themselves(the few I have dealt with). Even with the NFIU guidelines a lot still pulls through due to international payments systems. Western Union, Transfer wise etc, PayPal etc. No pattern for tracking illicit transactions is failsafe. and truthfully more guidelines means more encumbrance for us legal transactions because every security measure adds a cost/inconvenience. Let's try though. God help us. |
ednut1:True but aren't most accounts secret? With the exception of joint/trust/Business accounts, virtually all personal accounts should be somewhat secret. At least that's what the banks tell us to do. |
mastermaestro:Hahahahah! Shhhhh! You must never say this. This amount to Contempt! Their ruling is sacred. Hahahaha! |
skywalker240:Hahaha! Nokia is more or less a Chinese brand these days. |
Dayodragon:He's been a leader since he was 21/22. Messi /Barca have been poor. True. But leadership is galvanized influence to a goal. Style/Nature doesn't suit you fine, say it. Don't throw away anything you don't agree with. The board at Barca has made massive errors. You can't redeem those errors always on the pitch. They even listed Company as a better leader. Leadership isn't only "brutal bully" approach. In Nigeria here too many believe effective leaders are those that shout/bark. Hahaha! Every approach that brings results is effective NOT only those you agree with. Funny how extroverts think they alone own the world. Cheers. |
zeusdgrt:We've also seen CR7 getting annoyed that another teammate scored and not him. We've heard him say that if other teammates played like him the team would have won the game too. Or talking about his transfer move on a UCL night where he had a relatively quite performance thereby taking away the headlines from Bale. That's clearly NOT perfect leadership. *This doesn't take away from CR7 being one of the best players in the world/in history too. But he certainly isn't a perfect leader. I'm ok that you guys like the Extroverted "bully" leadership style BUT that not the only style their is. Otherwise Messi wouldn't have more Trophies than 95% of the "leaders" on that list. Messi has been a leader before he became a Captain. I personally don't like the captain thing even. |
JOHNSONSOLAFUNMI:Hahahaha! Barca /Messi were very poor yesterday. But where do you guys stand? Sometimes you claim Messi selects players for games, determine who Barca buys and chooses the coaches they hire. Now you guys say he takes no action. *I have categorized you with those who make those statements. Leadership doesn't have a single pattern. Stop pushing an agenda. Barca has failed from the board in many areas since Neymar's departure/other signings. How many players in your "leadership" list has more individual/team trophies than Messi. Leadership isn't a one way street of shouting at other players in public. Matter of fact Messi has shouted at players before (Rakitic specifically) and the press took it as "Messi controlling everyone". The extroverted "bully" type IS NOT necessarily the only effective leadership style. Cheers. Hahahaha! |
gaskiyamagana:Most developing/underdeveloped countries beyond 100m population would never have enough to cater for ALL its citizenry without emigration. It's the price for Overpopulation. I do believe that No one belong anywhere though. I.e. emigration isn't a bad thing. But we are really Overpopulated in my Opinion. |
Dedetwo:True. However Ghana is for Ghanians First. They also don't owe us an explanation. Again didn't Nigeria expel Ghanians en masse more than 30 years ago? Trust me, if push comes to shove, Nigeria would institute similar laws too and what would you say then ? I have thought a lot about this, But was it not the same Nigeria that a Governor in the Southeast sacked indigenes of another state in that Geopolitical zone to employ its own people? When the chips are down [even] in the family, a man has to decide which of his children would eat the available meal and which would have to die of starvation— a rather extreme analogy but you probably get the gist. |
Wow! And here I am thinking Africans are one. Perhaps they aren't. In difficult times humans have always reaorted to discrimination. Sad one though. |
Kriss216:I don't think so though. But they are terrible now. However funnily, they usually lose 1 game in every UCL campaign since 2017! The losses are the very bad type though. This Bayern loss was their first loss in this campaign too. |
Topmaike007:You are aware that managers decide who plays in games right? |
logon599:RB Leipzig doesn't particularly have minimal resources though. For a club that enjoys the backing of Red bull Gmbh— The most valuable Energy drink brand in the world — a private firm owned by Dietrich Mateschitz (himself, one of the world's top richest people), I wouldn't say they are minimally resourced. Nice job though. |
SmartProf:I've always known this. Racism(though terrible) is a scapegoat. All other forms of discrimination/prejudice go on amongst men which are not taken seriously even though they are as bad as racism. I'm ALL for being law abiding though. But the law was made for man NOT man for the law. |
youthsinitiativ:It's not illiteracy. It's a flawed emotional intelligence. Everyday in Nigeria we see "seemingly" educated people make poor judgements. Funnily I just read this article about this phenomenon. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/01/09/billionaire-warren-buffett-shares-indispensable-life-advice-he-learned-more-than-40-years-ago.html It says more about his character that he has apologized. |
