While we've fine roads in some parts of Kano, Uyo, Lagos and Abuja, the lack of orderliness, the preponderance of "Keke"/"okada", litter all over the place & faded/or absent road markings, don't make them an appealing sight such as these ones.

Most people don't appreciate the insane level of loyalty, dedication and service our men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces have to the country first, and then, the C-in-C.

With all the economic hardship and pitiable salary they receive, these men and women of uniform are always ready - at a heartbeat - to lay down their lives for their country and the C-in-C otherwise, if not for their eternal loyalty, one soldier or cadet (at the risk of their own life) can just "mistakenly" shoot their C-in-C and you know ....

For instance, once you join a political party, you can't cross-carpet to another until after 6 years of your joining & even after you've successfully defected to a different political party, you're not eligible to present yourself for elections on that party's platform until you've spent minimum 5 years there; our politicians who aren't known to have patience or any godly virtues, will either resign completely from politics or remain in their parties and reform it for the well-being of their supporters.

While I agree with you that it's in bad taste to have said congratulations to his supporters on taking office after the demise of his boss, the problem is that the word loyalty has been serially abused by Africans and Nigerians in particular.
In our part of the world, loyalty seems to take a meaning of losing your senses and saying yes to everything. Loyalty also involves speaking the truth and doing things right.
While you're blaming lucky, what about those who under the guise of loyalty took advantage of the situation to forge signatures and siphon funds? Are they truly loyal to the boss or to their personal interests?

Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa may've misspoken at the time by not choosing his words carefully but why does that have to stop the Akeredolu family from disallowing the state government from giving their patriarch a burial befitting his status as a governor who died in office?

Except the state government under Aiyedatiwa didn't signify interest or refused to avail itself for communication with the Akeredolu family, it's improper to deny the state government of being involved in the burial arrangements and that's my opinion.

It's like most of you don't even know the type of powers Nigerian governors wield; if Aiyedatiwa decides to use what's left of the time his administration has to be petty by going after his predecessor's immediate family (the widow especially) over their purported sleaze, it'll take only the intervention of the President to save them from embarrassment & possible trial but let sleeping dogs lie.

For e.g this report claims the SSG (a Princess Odu) charged at the governor for not including her in the burial c'ttee so much so that the council meeting ended on a sour note; anyone who understands how Nigeria's system of governance works will tell you for free that no SSG, no matter how influential, will ever challenge their governor to a shouting match. The day they dare it is the same day they lose their job!

You may choose to believe SR (your choice, which I respect) on this particular instance but as for me & my household, the incident only occurred in the wild imagination of the person who filed the report for publishing.
