Some of you think everyone must pick a side or that when we share our views, we're supporting one side against the other. Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa may've misspoken at the time by not choosing his words carefully but why does that have to stop the Akeredolu family from disallowing the state government from giving their patriarch a burial befitting his status as a governor who died in office? Except the state government under Aiyedatiwa didn't signify interest or refused to avail itself for communication with the Akeredolu family, it's improper to deny the state government of being involved in the burial arrangements and that's my opinion. It's like most of you don't even know the type of powers Nigerian governors wield; if Aiyedatiwa decides to use what's left of the time his administration has to be petty by going after his predecessor's immediate family (the widow especially) over their purported sleaze, it'll take only the intervention of the President to save them from embarrassment & possible trial but let sleeping dogs lie. Seylad2009: |
The great Akeredolu! May his soul continue to rest in peace & may the Akeredolu family receive comfort in their mourning period. Meanwhile, this statement confirms the non-involvement of the Ondo State Government in the burial arrangements; they must really despise Lucky Aiyedatiwa so much that they couldn't even hide it. This was supposed to be a state burial with the announcement supposed to be made by the Ondo State Government but it's a shame the immediate family of late Gov. Akeredolu have an axe to grind with their patriarch's successor in office. |
This is no longer about the bad economic situation or ethno-religious cleansing, this is about a gang of bloodthirsty, possessed, insane & murderous youths, who like Sharks, have tasted blood & won't stop until they're put down by a mightier force. If it was about money, they would've made reasonable ransom demands & when not met, lower their demands till a middle ground is reached but what do these devils reincarnates do? They straight up kill their hostage & move on to their next victim. Not like one is supporting these killers but if they'd made sons or daughters of past and serving LG chairmen, Legislators, governors, commissioners, political appointees etc as their targets, many Nigerians would've said a silent prayer of support for them but these guys are targeting children, wives & fathers of common Nigerians - those who are struggling & have been victims of the failures of the political class as well. In all of this, the family has failed for not playing its primary role of raising godly, morally & mentally sound children; if these killers had been raised in a godly manner & taught that it's morally, spiritually & legally wrong to steal, kidnap or kill someone else, we wouldn't have been dealing with these monsters today. |
Nasarawa may just be decided in Ombugadu/PDP's favour; man was easily coasting to victory till the results somehow turned out in favour of the APC/Gov. Sule. |
If you go through the responses OP, you would've noticed by now that you've received very valuable advice from NLers on what to do. To further buttress, politely turn down the offer stating your reason(s). Appreciate them for the painstaking process they went through to arrive at the decision to hire you but considering your reason(s), you won't be able to take up the appointment but if they were willing to meet you half way in your salary expectations, you would be happy to join their organization and work to justify their confidence in you. Considering many private employers in Nigeria see themselves as doing their employees a favour & they're not used to being challenged by a prospective employee, they may feel "threatened" by you & give the job to another candidate; if this is what plays out eventually, don't be disappointed rather, rejoice because you may've just escaped working under a toxic & hostile environment. |
As a young man, when you start making ba$tard money, please learn to keep your manhood in check. This singular decision will save you from a lot of regrets down the road as well as save those who may be products of your peni$ing indiscretions from public opprobrium & psychological stress. Davido's decision to have unprotected sex with Sophie Momodu is one of the biggest mistakes he ever made; she's not his only baby mama but she has somehow found a way to be the bone in his throat. Unfortunately, their disagreement is affecting a little child whose only "sin" was being the product of her father & mother's fornication; one day when she's old enough, she will read on social media about her mom allegedly being a thot, extorsionist, wannabe, gold digger & lazy woman and her dad a serial sperm donor, womanizer & sexually depraved man. May God be with Imade & protect her heart & feelings from those who - although are supposed to be her first line of unconditional love & protection - are hell-bent on being selfish & inconsiderate. |
Any list of "most powerful people" under fPMB's admin that doesn't include Malami (SAN), Mamman Daura & late Abba Kyari (even in death) is incomplete. Amaechi, Amosun & Aisha should be off that list; they were what you can call "very close associates" of Buhari but the trio were not as powerful & influential (combined) as only Mamman Daura. Daura was the Cabal! |
Kaduna Electric ⚡ was & still is useless. Their staff are incompetent, unprofessional & lacking customer service qualities among others. I don't know if it's location or due to the fact that Tony Elumelu-led Transcorp owns majority stake, AEDC is imo, the most efficient DisCo. |
adigun27:Okay. |
SR most times give factual information but then they go ahead to ruin it with embellishments & wild concoctions of things that never happened. For e.g this report claims the SSG (a Princess Odu) charged at the governor for not including her in the burial c'ttee so much so that the council meeting ended on a sour note; anyone who understands how Nigeria's system of governance works will tell you for free that no SSG, no matter how influential, will ever challenge their governor to a shouting match. The day they dare it is the same day they lose their job! You may choose to believe SR (your choice, which I respect) on this particular instance but as for me & my household, the incident only occurred in the wild imagination of the person who filed the report for publishing. |
atiku4President:Correction much appreciated. |
Eriokanmi:Okay. |
We used to say something about giving a "premature" testimony in Church; that's what just happened to Betta Edu. She didn't wait a year to see how things would unfold before she went to give testimony to a global audience. With this suspension, she can kiss goodbye to getting any appointment from credible international organizations; locally sef, the circumstances surrounding her suspension from office would always hang on her neck like an albatross. |
Coder2Client:Yes sir. Press release was signed by none other than Chief Ajuri Ngelale. It's also on Mr. Bayo Onanuga's X handle. |
That's the right thing to do. This should make the other Ministers sit up if they love their jobs. |
Okay. KnownUnknown: |
Omo! I used Seduction back in the day. This post is giving me nostalgia. |
The 3rd to the last paragraph of this entire write up is instructive. Meanwhile, Prophet TB Joshua may or may not be guilty of these allegations but to claim that he "faked" miracles? I'd find that hard to believe because I followed EmmanuelTV live for a long time & some of the miracles I saw happen to people? If those were faked, then he must've been so so good not to have been exposed. |
I don't see Betta Edu bouncing back from this scandal. There are those who ab initio felt greatly sored that she gave testimony at Shiloh over her appointment as Minister under PBAT administration. That bloc was already lurking in the shadows, daggers drawn & waiting for her slip; this NSIPA matter has given this group of her detractors the opportunity they'd been waiting for all along. When you combine this bloc with those who have started giving the entire matter an ethnic coloration (what's sauce for the NSIPA lady should be sauce for Edu, they argue), it becomes a combobulation of loud voices seeking her ouster. Going.... Going.... Gone... |
Resignation is one word that doesn't exist in the lexicon of our political class otherwise, Dr. Betta Edu by now should've saved the administration she serves the embarrassment & public opprobrium by stepping down as Minister for Humanitarian Affairs. Even if her intentions were altruistic, there's no justification for sending a request to the Accountant General for the release of over half a billion Naira into the private account of a staff of her ministry whether the person is "project accountant" for the GVG or not. |
What's happening with that woman on X is nothing short of divine favour at work. When Pastor Nathaniel Bassey sang "what the enemy meant for evil, God has turned it around, He has turned it around for my good", he definitely had this lady & her husband in mind; they'll remember January 2024 as their best year in a very long time. |
LMAO. He can make reference to Wike vowing never to leave PDP but conveniently forgot to mention that the same "PitObi" he's championing today also vowed never to leave APGA. That aside, LP hasn't even played "opposition" politics for up to 3yrs & they think they've arrived; if not for PDP & Atiku Abubakar especially, who brought Peter Obi to national consciousness, he would've have remained in political obscurity. Finally, a party with only 1 governor & a handful of federal lawmakers cannot elevate itself to the height of "main opposition" in Nigeria; if we're to go by realities on ground, Atiku Abubakar & PDP are the leading opposition followed by others. |
The Church in Nigeria has been turned into a punching bag by mostly Christians who have had an un-Christ like experience with some of these Churches. Many Churches in Nigeria every day render one form of assistance or the other to their members who are in need; just because the churches don't do it for the cameras or the beneficiaries themselves don't speak out on social media doesn't mean this isn't happening. My Church during the Christmas gave bags of rice, groundnut oil, Maggi, salt, tomato pastes & cash to widows, the elderly & struggling youths; this is aside paying medical bills for members in the course of the year among others. Yes, the experience with some of Churches can be better and should've been but just because you'd a terrible experience with your local church doesn't warrant a blanket condemnation of all Churches in Nigeria. |
Waziri Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (GCON) saw 2023 Presidential elections as his best shot at becoming President of Nigeria; he didn't foresee the defeat he suffered (at the polls, PEPT & Supreme Court) & while fellow contestant, Peter Obi seems to have moved on, the PDP flagbearer & his close associates are still licking their wounds. No other evidence buttresses this assumption than this insipid tweet by one of his spokespersons. |
IfnobeGod20:To answer your parting question; yes, I did. Having fine policies has never been our problem rather, it's the implementation that has k-leg. The Naira redesign policy was one of such fine policies but implementation was where they got it wrong; as for this particular purported "Executive Order" that Chief Osoba made mention of, if it doesn't come with certain incentives, there's no way it'll work. |
Can some of these elder statesmen just keep shut for a minute? You'd a private discussion with the President (who's your friend, ally, political party leader & former colleague) only to come to grant an interview disclosing something he wants to do (whether it'll succeed or not is another topic). Whether he knows it or not, Chief Osoba has just set up the President for unnecessary drags. |
Good news. While we wait with bated breath for the refinery to start refining crude oil, I think it's imperative to start educating majority of Nigerians that when the refined products (diesel, kerosene, jet fuel, premium motor spirit, etc.) start coming out from the Dangote Refinery, it won't automatically translate to a significant drop in the price of petrol/fuel in the country. Most people are only anxious about the refinery to work because they believe it'll bring down the cost of fuel/petrol but that won't be the case; while there'll be slight drop in the pump price, the difference between what we're currently paying now & what will obtain when Dangote Refinery starts supplying fuel/petrol to major marketers may not exceed N200 per litre (i.e it could be up to but not more than N200 difference per litre). Any hopes of fuel pump price going back to N165/L or even N220/L is a pipe dream; until we arrest the dwindling value of the Naira or reintroduce subsidies, we won't pay anything <N400/L even if PHRC & Dangote Refinery combined work optimally. |
Ahmed0336:I've that weird feeling too. Don't know what's cooking. |
This is welcome development. |
What an irony. |
Instead of some commentators to scratch beneath the surface of this report, they're more interested in insulting FPMB & PBAT because that's the most convenient thing to do. For me, I think this report is an indictment on northern governors and farmers who always blame the soaring prices of food stuff especially grains & cereals on the obvious security challenges in the region; while this is a contributing factor, this Daily Trust report has opened up another angle. It's now obvious that our northern farmers instead of selling their grains at prevailing market prices, prefer to make a killing by selling to these merchants & moneybags from across our borders; now, where successive governments up till this point take the blame is that they've not done anything to make our borderlines more secured to prevent smuggling of critical foodstuffs out of Nigeria as well as trafficking of small and light arms. What Government can do is to ensure food security first for the populace by setting up commodity boards, provide farmers with inputs at subsidized rates, off take farm produce from farmers at fair prices, encourage private investors to set up industries for processing some of these commodities (soy beans, sesame seeds, etc) into finished products instead of simply smuggling them through our porous borders as raw materials among other steps. |
Where's Play Network owned by Charles Okpaleke? Tade Ogidan & Tunde Kelani shouldn't be on that list; they're legends in their own rights but when was the last time we saw any movies by the two of them in the Cinemas? |
