Looks solid. Well done to Gov. Soludo. Meanwhile, aside Gov. Bago of Niger State, it appears the remaining northern states' governors have gone into sleep mode; not one of them is in the news for delivering any positive development project to their people. |
I got dizzy from reading the extent of criminal stealing by the management & staff of REA. It's a shame that inspite of the glaring evidences of monumental stealing uncovered by the EFCC, SIT, ONSA & ICPC, these officials - through their lawyers - will subject their trial to a lengthy period & if lucky, may get off the hook due to some "technicality" or lack of diligent prosecution. |
These guys drove away their helper at the time & potential helpers with the sort of attitudes they put on & proudly showed off on social media. It'll take some extra kind of grace for anyone to want to help them out now but hey, shebi they were said to be staying in Abuja (Utako precisely) after their alleged deportation back to Nigeria? They should find one garden/bar (Eden garden for e.g) that'll allow them showcase their "happie boyz" dance moves every weekend at least till they're able to stand on their feet again. |
ddippset:You get it? Again, anyone who thinks Buhari couldn't have forced his preferred candidate (if at all he'd any) on the party and damn the consequences is a dreamer and living in f00ls paradise; it's like most people still haven't come to the realization about the type of unchecked powers a Nigerian President (or even governor) wields. Technocrats like Dr. Joe Abah will tell you for free that "after God, fear government" in the context of government, just insert Nigerian President! |
Ajuri Ngelale may be a journalist with his sources but he should understand that there are certain reckless sweeping statements he shouldn't even whisper, much more utter loudly on national TV, as presidential spokesman. This his comment is one of such reckless sweeping statements. Instead of him to advise his boss to focus on making Nigeria & Nigerians more secured especially from bandits, extremists & kidnappers ravaging the North, he chose to make a strong, yet wild allegation without any evidence backing it. Just like Senate President Akpabio, Mr. Ngelale doesn't know how to control his mouth & I pray it doesn't put him on collision course with his employer one day because when push comes to shove, PBAT will drop him like a hot potato just to please his northern political backers. |
One thing for sure is if PMB didn't support Tinubu (overtly or covertly), no way on God's green earth would he have emerged APC flag bearer for the presidential polls. He may not have directed his powers towards Tinubu's emergence but the fact he allowed the party to provide a level playing field for all the aspirants at the time, went a long way in ensuring the eventual flagbearer won the presidential primaries. One other significant thing the then President did (even though unlawful according to the electoral laws) that some PBAT's rabid supporters like Sam Omatseye won't acknowledge is on the day of the presidential elections - at his PU - Buhari showed his voting slip (indicating he thumbprinted APC) to voters (a subtle campaign even after close of campaigns) & this action was captured by news media & broadcasted; although Atiku ended up winning Katsina's votes, methinks that singular move swayed core Buhari's supporters in the North to vote APC. |
kingreign:Immediately I saw the photo, rice milking was what came to mind. If he can overcome the challenge of sourcing paddy, that'd be a very lucrative business considering the size of the warehouse. |
See the smug on his face. Until the sponsors behind the scenes of kidnapping, banditry, terrorism and associated vices are identified and made a scapegoat of, we'll keep running around in circles. |
Kai, this is serious. Looks like that's a new dimension of terrorism we're going to be confronted with going forward now: destruction of critical public infrastructure. But then, doesn't the NSCDC have a special squad for protection of critical national infrastructure? |
I can count up to 30 guys in my circle of friends & acquaintances that don't smoke; matter of fact, they've never had a stick of cigarette their entire lives. What's more? They're responsible, working class & mostly married guys who are occasional/social drinkers, but despise smoking. So, if she's finding it difficult seeing a guy who doesn't smoke, it means the problem is with her; her circle or those she hangs out with frequently, needs to change. That's not to say that all smokers are irresponsible or bad (you'll still find very responsible and great guys among them). |
Julius Abure is now damaged goods. He'll be tempted to want to say damaging things about his party's presidential flagbearer once he's removed but no one will believe him. |
All rhetorics yet not the slightest indication that the people asking us to "endure" the current hardships are themselves enduring anything. There's a way the leadership connects with the masses that reassures them (masses) that they're not alone & know what they're (leadership) doing to ameliorate the suffering but you see this one? Even their core supporters if they're being honest, are beginning to feel disappointed that the man they trusted, campaigned and voted for, appears to be overwhelmed and at a loss at how to make life better for the average Nigerian. |
Unfortunately, kidnapping has become a low risk yet very lucrative venture under the APC led federal government. More worrisome about this negative trend is the active involvement by policemen/or policemen in connivance with the kidnappers. At this point, na all man for himself, God for us all. |
See his nose and thick ponmo lips. When he's caught, either by police or any other person, they should first cut off a chunk of his nose, slice his lips, use a plier to pull off all his finger & toenails then castrate the id!ot. He should be allowed to die a slow & painful de@th. |
Oh! So, this is the "Denco" guy? Who listened to Brekete Family radio and TV this past Friday? I now see the subtle "endorsement" by the "Ordinary President". |
Konquest:At highlighted, that's the word I was looking for. I really didn't have any problem with the fact he was eating tuwo or how the meal was presented. Cheers to a great weekend. |
Konquest:I actually did state two issues: gluttony or social media validation. I don't have a problem if he ate from an earthen ware or used corrosive utensils. That said, I found it weird (not repulsive) that a man took himself to his girlfriend's house, saw her fridge was stocked with eggs and all manner of goodies and when he decided to prepare something for both of them to eat (tuwo and soup), he added beef and 3 boiled eggs. So, it's either he's a glutton or a NL attention seeker; the latter seems to be it |
How former President Muhammadu Buhari kept Mohammed Bello as FCT Minister for 8 uninterrupted years will forever remain a mystery. I bet if you scoured the entire internet for images of the immediate past minister inspecting any construction site, you won't find any; that's how useless he was. |
Spot on! Emefiele has no one to blame but himself. You hit the nail on its head at bolded quotes. However, I still find it an irony that inspite the obvious near empty treasury, the PBAT-led FG is carrying on as if there's a secret slush fund somewhere; the government must as a matter of urgency, tighten its own belt and not be seen to be "lounging" while the majority of Nigerians are languishing in economic hardships. TopBanter: |
"...they overpowered us" coming from a police image maker. During the gunfight which lasted several minutes, one of our fine officers succumbed to gsw due to the large number of the assailants. fixed. Allow the reader to make of it what happened next not that you'll open your mouth "waaah" & say they were "overpowered". |
LOL. Nigeria is one huge comedy central park. So, someone collected $6.2m "allegedly" under the auspices of Mr. Godwin Emefiele, yet, that person is unknown to the SGF & OSGF? Also, official letters & signatures of the President & SGF were being forged at will solely to defraud the nation yet not one person has been sent to jail for these crimes & others? |
Tuwo with miyan ewedu mixed with stew, beef and 3 eggs? Nah man, can deal! Is this gluttony or social media validation or even both? |
Lovely highways. Love how they incorporated the pedestrian walkways and the orderly movement of traffic. While we've fine roads in some parts of Kano, Uyo, Lagos and Abuja, the lack of orderliness, the preponderance of "Keke"/"okada", litter all over the place & faded/or absent road markings, don't make them an appealing sight such as these ones. Kudos to the Ivoriens for getting some of their public infrastructure right. God bless Africa and make its leaders govern with the welfare of the people on the top burner at all times. |
Most people don't appreciate the insane level of loyalty, dedication and service our men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces have to the country first, and then, the C-in-C. With all the economic hardship and pitiable salary they receive, these men and women of uniform are always ready - at a heartbeat - to lay down their lives for their country and the C-in-C otherwise, if not for their eternal loyalty, one soldier or cadet (at the risk of their own life) can just "mistakenly" shoot their C-in-C and you know .... Anyways, congratulations to all the passed out officers. |
LoL. Made his declaration inside one of Transcorp's conference rooms; why didn't he do it in Anambra? Anyways, man is trying to ride on the popularity of Peter Obi & LP in the SE otherwise, why didn't he recontest on the platform of PDP whose flag he flew in the last guber polls in Anambra? Again, until our laws are amended to expressly bar politicians from cross-carpeting from one political party to the other - especially for the sole purpose of contesting elections - we'll continue to witness people without ideologies and sincerity occupy positions. For instance, once you join a political party, you can't cross-carpet to another until after 6 years of your joining & even after you've successfully defected to a different political party, you're not eligible to present yourself for elections on that party's platform until you've spent minimum 5 years there; our politicians who aren't known to have patience or any godly virtues, will either resign completely from politics or remain in their parties and reform it for the well-being of their supporters. |
Odin13:I've a 5-bedroom all en-suite duplex with 2 units each 1-room self contain for sale in a secured, well planned & suitably located estate Abuja. |
LOL. Whoever told the CAS that framed caricature image of PBAT was something worth presenting didn't advise him properly. |
The entire landscape of Nigeria is a crime scene; you don't even have to dig too deep to uncover the skeletons buried all over the place. On the flip side, I suspect that the chief focus of this entire exposé isn't the MDAs but the Niger Delta militants. For sometime now, some notable northern elders and northern politicians have been calling for "amnesty" for bandits/Boko Haram/murderous herdsmen citing the amnesty program for Niger Delta militants as example. While it's true that "repentant" terrorists are being rehabilitated and reintegrated back into society, they're not being paid any stipends like the Niger Delta militants. With the ongoing rampage and carnage by bandits & killer herdsmen, it's not far-fetched for the same voices to cry out louder for a financially rewarding amnesty program for the northern "militants" after all, if it's sauce for Boyloaf and Reuben Wilson et al, it should be sauce too for Halilu Sububu and Bello Turji et al. |
Justoneweek:Okay. |
My advice: before you react based on the headline item, please, do yourself a favour and read the news body in full; it's concise, self-explanatory and educative. |
Let's even leave out the man who has died; karma is for the living. If media reports about how the late Akeredolu's immediate family (his wife in particular) turned the state's coffers into a personal piggy bank when their patriarch was incapacitated are to be believed, then, it's them that should be wary of karma just as everyone else. tete7000: |
You couldn't have put it any better. Folks like that only look at Aiyedatiwa's faults but ignore whatever insults, disrespect & humiliation the man must've endured. There's always an action that bequeaths an equal & opposite reaction & that could've been possible in this instance even though his comment was in bad taste considering the circumstances at the time.
