TravelRe: How Bright Or Bleak Is Overstaying On A Visiting Visa In The Uk by bee444: 4:55pm On Feb 24, 2010
To the Moderator,

Not sure if you actually deleted my first post, What I stated was legal and cannot be seen as false leading. If you want more on Immigration, contact me personally.

To all those seeking greener pasture in the UK,

Coming to the UK to work is actually a life changing experience if proper and due procedures are followed.

I would not recommend a Tourist/Visiting Visa to anyone wanting to Work in the UK. However, I do understand how difficult it is to obtain a work permit or even more appropriate an HSMP Permit in Nigeria.

The options available would be,

The UK Working Holidaymaker Visa :It allows Commonwealth citizens aged between 17 and 30 to immigrate to the United Kingdom for an extended holiday of up to two years, with the intention of taking paid work in Britain as part of their working holiday visa.

From February 2005, the scheme was geared towards making the employment undertaken incidental to the holiday of which it formed a part, and not the key reason behind the type of UK visa application. As a result, candidates may only have work for 12 out of the 24 months duration granted.

Additionally, applicants could only switch to a UK work permit application if the profession in which they had a job offer featured on the Skills Shortage Occupation List. However, switching to the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme or HSMP was still permitted.

A working holiday visa differed from UK work permits and skill based immigration services such as the Highly Skilled Migrant Program, in that its main purpose was not to bring immigrants to the country to fill job vacancies but to grant leave to enter the UK to those interested in working overseas.

Like similar schemes in Commonwealth nations such as Australia and Canada, the scheme was intended primarily as a holiday option, with the added advantage that for half of their time in the United Kingdom, holidaymakers could earn money.

Because of the nature of this visa for working in the UK, no points assessment was required and no specific job offer needed to be in place before you coming to Britain, as would be the case with a UK working permit.

However, it is important to remember that this route to the United Kingdom could only be issued once per person and unlike a Work permit visa application to work in the UK, it could not be extended or repeated.

From experience i can tell you one gud thing about Jamaican both sexes male or female are honest. Apart from their ganjerism permit my word they are very honestand sincere people, their Yes is their are No is their No. They dont shy os telling the truth they will say just as it is. On their bahavior i think it depends on their level of education and exposures. Some of their educated men tend to be good behave than their semi or illiterate men. Overall, i think it will be unfair to be stereotyping people base on your individual experience with other individual we all are human being and human beings have their unique personalities.

I totally agree with you this time my brother.

I'm a Nigerian living in Caribbean. Overhere it is believed that descendant of Africa in Barbados are mostly from Ghana due to their easy nature while the Africans descendants in Jamaica were from Nigeria due to their aggressive manner of behavior. So whatever being said about Jamaica women apply to Nigerian women too.
While you're bang on point with some of your findings, I totally disagree with the above highlighted words or sentences.

How many percentage of Nigerian women do you see smoke weed or ganja like their Jamaican counterpart? What about the issue of having children out of wed-lock? Single parenting? Education? Moral? God-fearing?

If you're truely a Nigerian, by now my bros, you suppose know better o.

What exactly is marriage age? Because a mother has a boyfriend or a partner she is now immoral? Let's be reasonable here. Your cultural beliefs can't be shared with everyone. Immorality is not the right word to label such women. While most of your arguements are agreed upon u choose to generalize with jamaicans but now play d partiality card with your fellow country men. Brother have u met all jamaican men to finally conclude that they are all lowlives?
Brother, I am in no way at war with you or totally against Jamaicans. While you agree with most of my arguments, you're still mis-quoting what i've tabled down. I never said all Jamaican men, I said most jamaican men.

By the way, who told you i'm from Nigeria? Your conclusion should not be based on what i've said about Nigerians, Maybe I just happen to know a bit of history about them. All my arguments are based on facts and figures supported by evidence(s).

U people make me sick. It is u same people that constantly defend your country when it is labeled a country full of fraudsters and yet you choose to insult jamaicans. marriage might be a way of life in nigeria but u can't say having boyfriends at a certain age is immoral. Just because it is not familiar to your culture does not mean it is immoral.
Read my post again, I never said having boyfriend is immoral. I said immorality is high with  Jamaican women (the one's that are of marriage age)They preferred having boyfriend or partner (whatever you call them) to getting married and having a husband. Get that straight!

While I can somewhat defend Most Nigerians, the few bad eggs amongst them need to be exposed. I'm talking about the fraudstars and the Internet scammers. They've given Nigerian names and that still affect them to this day.

Nigerian men occupy some of the biggest post in International spectrum and can boast of thousands of medical and engineering students and professionals.

Jamo women in the UK are nothing to write home about. Very little morals. They do not get married but live with boyfriend, even when they are older and have children. One of my co workers is 48 and is always telling us how she and her son's girlfriend will  be making dinner and breakfast in the house. The ones on the buses with green and pink weave and long nails, shouting on their pay-as-you-go T mobile phones just embarass other Black people here. The funny thing about a lot of them is that they look down on Africans because of our accent. TBut they hate that a lot of Nigerians are in middle management and have two or three degrees unlike them who finished at GCSE level (SSCE equivalent). ln my office, in the City, there are four black men, three Nigerians and one Ghanaian, but many African and Caribbean women. No Caribbean man anywhere.
The women love us but the men hate us and feel better than us, reminds me of Malcolm X's analogy of the field negro and the house negro!!!! tongue
You've actually done your home work and you're bang on the point. However, make sure you at least involve a lot of them instead of using a single co-worker of yours.

Nevertheless, I believe morals is lacking in their settings and they seldom use common sense. They're the worst of the worst when it comes to immorality. 80% of them don't get married. They've replaced husband with partner and boyfriend. 70% of them are single parents. They lack manners and are very aggressive. Most of their guys make their livings in selling drugs. Just 10% of them attends college or University.

There are more than 18 Millions Nigerians in school at all levels. That is more than the total human population of South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Egypt, Morocco, Tanzania and the school population of France, Britain and Spain.

Nigerians have often lost their patience, but not their way, or faith, the one that reminds them that clouds may often overrun the skies; they cannot control it; that beyond the eclipse, light awaits.

With one of the highest literacy rates in Africa, Nigerians are their own harshest critics, loudly establishing organs to make sure they are heard.

Whenever Nigerians are talking, Jamaicans should just keep quiet.  Nigerian girls are the most God fearing people on the planet (according to world survey).

In 2003, Nigerians were reported to be the happiest people in a scientific survey carried out in 65 nations in 1999–2001.[90] The research was reported by one of the world's top science magazines, New Scientist, and was picked up by a number of news outlets. The report considered that the country's family life and culture were more important than its problems and material wealth in determining happiness. Enough said

@poster and my fellow NL's

Defensiveness and opinion should not be confused with facts and figures. @poster raised a topic based on her judgement and perhaps what she's been told, some of y'all still agree with her without critiquing some of her assumptions.

I am not however going to disagree with some of the points raised, but would love to set the record straight.

While most of us on NL are well educated and insightful, only few have chosen to be stereotype. The Nigerian/Jamaican myth and propaganda will continue as long as ignorance and misinformation lives. Although half of the women in UK jail are Jamaicans (BBC news); drug related offences, their Nigerian counterpart are in 'jail' without fences.

While most Jamaican men de-taste Nigerians (God knows what for), their women tend to socialise and mingle more.

What's the beef then? In 1662 when England had fully taken control of Jamaica, all children born of English subjects were automatically called 'free citizen of England'. Until the 8th of January 2003, Jamaicans were entitled to enter the UK without Visa and without any restrictions. The restriction imposed on them was mainly because of many African countries seeking greener pasture in the UK (Nigerians accounted for over half of the immigrants). na there the story begin my people,

The 21st Century, Aside from Nigerians, other nations see Jamaicans as been synonymous to drugs and ganja. Over 70% of Jamaican children have single parents. 20% of Jamaicans are educated compared to Nigerian 60%. Nigerian women are synonymous to hard-work while their men are synonymous to fraud. Jamaican women are lazy and often rely on benefits, Nigerian women are the most lousiest in the world.

In conclusion, Nigerian and Jamaican women are hard knot to crack. You have as a neighbour, then you're done for. Jamaicans have good heart and sincerity that goes with them (apart from the ganja smoke that wakes you up every now and then), their Nigerian counterpart won't just stop shouting on the phone.

Above all, we're the-same and should therefore start tolerating one another. We'all our brother's keeper and should be such in our daily dealings with one another. We have allowed the western ideologies and propaganda to separate us for far too long. There's no black Jamaican, black Nigerian, Ghanian, Mexican, Brazilian etc, we're all black race.
FamilyRe: Life At 30 When You're Not Married by bee444: 2:47am On Feb 22, 2010
Marriage, Marriage Marriage ! Why are we so worried?

There is something about the number 30 that strikes fear into any woman hoping to get married. The fear of negligence and sense of desperacy from men.

Your 20's are about test driving your emotions, test driving men and defining self. The adjectives used to define Mr. Right at 20 generally include smart, tall, fun, handsome, ambitious, great car and awesome in bed.  At twenty, a year is a very long time and for most women, the person she is at 20 is drastically different the woman she becomes by 30.

By 30, Mr. Right grows up, puts on a few pounds and has better things to do with his time than drink beer, work out and live just for the moment. Now at 30 you  realize substance exceeds aesthetics and a guy with six-pack abs usually spends too much time in the gym and too little time involved in the world around him.

The new adjectives now reflect your own maturity and  include more concrete ideals such as integrity, a passion for living, principles, goal-oriented, considerate and loving.   By thirty, you realize it’s not whether you want him, it’s whether he wants you. At thirty you sometimes forget what year it is because time now goes by so fast.

Here is the good news if you're in your 30's and still waiting,
Of course no amount of maturity stops the panic.  If you're still single you begin to wonder if there is something wrong with you.  Why is it so many women who are not attractive, smart or funny seem to have no problem finding Mr. Right?  Don't men like women with brains, looks, a sense of humor and well honed maternal instincts?  If so, where are they!

In truth, your Mr. Right is probably thinking the same thing about you.  Where are you?  It's hard to believe, but there is actually a shortage of healthy, mentally-sound, non-addicted, heterosexual thirty-something females looking to get married. Once you reach 35, male or female, only 50% of the dating pool is healthy.  Healthy means no addictions, mental diseases or other impediments to a successful relationship.

In conclusion, if you're still single, live life to the fullest. Enjoy your designer stuff and go out the more. Attend social gathering and put on more friendly smile.  Use your initiative and don't allow your pastor to hook you up with someone. You're too precious for that (you're a peculiar person to God). Never go into a relationship with a brother that went to his pastor b4 coming to you. Adam chose his wife without help from no one. Let the lucky person be attracted to you without sentiment or share of pity.

God bless

FamilyIgnorance or Hereditary? You Choose! by bee444(op): 2:15pm On Feb 20, 2010
It's just appalling to still see a lot of our family members or friends  resort to and still hanging on to these so-called herbalitical traditions and powers that has for so long ruined so many relationships and families.

Even Christians do go to these people for alternate options, let alone Muslims that doesn't see anything wrong with seeking their help.

Should we say frustration is playing an important role here? or we're not just patient enough to see the hands of God at work!

I believe everyone of us here have someone or know someone that have in the past visited these people.

What are you saying brother bee? Just think if you're a Christian, stick to Jesus's teachings and if you're a Muslim you should also adhere to Mohammed's (S.A.W) teachings.

Herbalists, Dibia or babalawo are people that actually agree with you and I that there's a God in heaven that ruleth in the affairs of men.

They don't even live in those mud houses and patched roofs anymore; they now have mansions and luxury cars that
most of their customers can't afford.

How do we educate our people and liberate them from these people? The Movie Industry is not helping matters. Nollywood still makes films that encourages evil powers, while Yoruba movies  ridicules Christainity and Islam.

Lets talk people,

While Kanu may have won lots of silverwares for both clubs and country, he's now nevertheless relatively too old and too late to complain of his lack of goals in the ACN tournaments. The fact that he went to the recently concluded one does not automatically certify him and guaranteed him a goal.

I believe age has caught up with him, Now 46 (though his futball age is saying otherwise, 33 years).
Romance10 Reasons Why You Won't be Considered a Cheat! by bee444(op): 4:16pm On Feb 18, 2010
Most of y'all out there would probably say, shouldn't we be able to control our bodies through our minds and conscious decisions? Apparently not always.

However,I do ask myself this question: Ain't we suppose to be further evolved than a chimp? Technically, yes but hormone- wise, a big NO.

Remember the good old days when you could stay up forever fooling around? Then responsibility entered the mix -- and kids -- and before you knew it, sleep was more important than intimacy. The sensitive part of you is no longer cared for. If you're a lady, he stopped opening the car door for you; and if you're a guy, she stopped wearing those sexy and provocative dresses.  Well, everybody want to feel wanted. If you’re not making your partner feel that way, option would be to seek it elsewhere. To keep that spark alive, we'all need something new.

My 10 reasons why you should cheat are:

1. intimacy is an instant pick-me-up; a self-esteem booster. If you're not getting the most out of it, why die slowly. You are born with options, why settle for a low-esteem qualification of deprivation. Get laid!

2.Why wait for your partner to admit if they cheat or not? If you doubt and suspect anything, then your first suspicion is always probably right. You don't need a babalawo or a private investigator to tell you this. Cheat back and your partner would certainly stop cheating.

3. Whenever the lines of your communication closes, there's always a possibility of spilling your guts to a stranger in the night. While men feel the urge to sow their wild oats, women have an inner intimacy kitten waiting to be unleashed. If these beasts can't be unleashed due to your new job, new friends, mid-life crises, get your mind cleared by doing it with  someone else!

4. Have you really checked? Do you really have much in common? If you don't have much in common as you thought, then go out there and meet someone who likes football or golf as you. It is also acceptable if you check with him/her under the sheet to see if you're really compatible.

5. Are you just thinking you're no longer attractive to your partner, or perhaps he/she doesn't fancy you that much again? Boost your ego by allowing that person you'd always fancied to do it with you. You'd see how your ego would swell even larger.

6. Is your partner overly critical or argumentative? I know you wouldn't want someone who's always on you about something silly. Although you love them dearly and wouldn't want to lose them, cheating is your best option of getting away with these kind of people.

7. Men don't get offered intimacy, women does all the time. What happened to the law of offer and acceptance? Guys, if you're offered intimacy, pls accept it. Ladies, too much of everything is bad you know. At least accept one of those offers you receive everyday, what! every hour. You wouldn't want to be called an ungrateful naughty person, would you?

8.Are you so comfortable in your relationship that you don't even know how to get out? Are you staying because of financial, children or compassionate reasons? If you think you're missing out on love, seek it elsewhere! This is as close to win-win you can get.

9.This world is fun, exciting and hallelujah, awesome! If you're tired of having steak for dinner everyday, why not try hamburger?

The last is as simple as the rest;

10. If you've in the past forgiven your partner for cheating on you, probability is that they're likely to cheat again. No reason is good enough to lie and be dishonest to your partner. If these happens, cheat on them too!

This post is solely my opinion. I'd appreciate if no one list what they thought to be their '10' .

Thank you for viewing and commenting.

Politics'president' Jonathan Bans Congratulations Adverts! by bee444(op): 10:35pm On Feb 15, 2010
Acting President Goodluck Jonathan appealed to Nigerians on Monday to stop putting adverts in newspapers to congratulate him on his new role.

Such adverts are a common way for Nigerians to try to curry favour with new administrations in a West African country where patronage has often been the key to success and corruption is widespread.

"The Acting President has similarly placed a ban on solidarity visits," said a statement from Ima Niboro, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.

Jonathan assumed executive powers last week to fill a leadership vacuum in Africa's most populous nation more than two months after President Umaru Yar'Adua was hospitalised in Saudi Arabia.

In his first national address, Jonathan said good governance, accountability and transparency were among his most important commitments.

Past Nigerian leaders have often failed to fulfil such promises.

"Dr. Jonathan restated the commitment of the administration to secure Nigeria's path to greatness and guarantee our place among the great nations of the world in the shortest possible time," the statement said.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Pastor Kumuyi Our Best Holiness Preacher? by bee444: 4:17pm On Feb 11, 2010
'Holiness' is a far-fetched word to describe a mortal man. With no disrespectful to Kumuyi, I believe a preacher is a preacher.

We're in the 21st century where everyone is getting educated and things are becoming more clearer to people as to how to regard or esteem these so called 'men of God'.

No doubt there are alot of good preachers out there, but holly preachers are hardly to come about. We only see these preachers from the outside while God sees them from the inside. We're in no positon to refer to them as holly regardless of whether your prayers are answered through them or not.
How do you become a good preacher? or perhaps I should say, what would you do to appear holy to people? I'll tell you the answers to these hypothetical questions:

* You have to be a smooth talker
* Tell people what they want to hear (do your research ofcourse)
* Read a lot of books ranging from biblical to educational (be well informed, read articles)
* Dress smartly, even if you don't  (e.g Adegboye, kumuyi etc), have a presence.

Pls note: I did not include prayer because you do not always need it to convince people that you can talk.
Christianity EtcRe: Must I Always Get Angre With God Before He Answers Me? by bee444: 3:11pm On Feb 11, 2010
What most of us don't realise is that 'faith does not deny facts'.  There are alot of people out there that preaches faith as though it's something most of us is short of. I think it's high time Christians started admitting the frustrations that comes when faith does seem 'short'. Don't get me wrong, faith is good, Heb 12, being realistic is also good, but most of all when things ain't going your way, just surrender to God!

I tell you @poster, God is good. But I dare challenge anyone that hasn't got frustrated or angry before either with himself or a bit of contempt with God  for not getting what we requested.

note: Even God understands that one day His children would be so frustrated and angry for not having what they requested at a said time. Hence, HE released this scriptural verse, I Corin 10:13

God bless you all
