Hello All
I need y’all advise on this.
I am getting married soon and my partner wants to rent a 3 bedroom apartment. I was cool with it but later after thinking properly, I felt it’s perhaps too much for us since we are just starting our lives.
I want us to be able to pay conveniently without fears. He has been saying the lord will provide and it makes me feel like I don’t believe God will really do.
Also another worry I have is that he has a lot of people around him that can think of coming to stay if we get the apartment and I actually love privacy.
Currently he is seeing things like I don’t want his own opinions to count or I don’t want him to make decisions for us...
Should I just let him please himself ?

I won't advise a 3 bedroom. Not even a 2 bedroom.

Newly weds needs to bond very well in the 1st couple of months/years and 3rd parties aren't allowed at this stage.

And considering the fact "the Lord will do it" factor is involved which tells me, you guys are not too financially bouyant, its better safe than sorry.

Abeg, go for a mini flat; its cheaper to maintain/pay for than 2/3 bedroom. People will talk and say all sorts of things to make u feel bad about the mini flat of a thing but, ensure say u no send.

When u have atleast stabilized after wedding for say 2years, and kids are beginning to come in, AND "finances are better/upgraded", u MAY consider 2 bedroom flat and that is if the space isnt' enough to put your things but nevertheless, its cheaper and safe to still stick to your mini flat till u have 2 kids or more.

This also ensures u don't have unwanted visitors from both sides. Trust me, not everybody will like the way you conduct your daily affairs and that's where issues will come up.

For instance, if u like eating 4 meats during your meal (with your husband of course) and your mother inlaw has a different view, trouble will start. Why not save yourself all these wahala?

Just ensure u have a heart to heart talk with your husband in a calm way; i'm sure he will think about it and reconsider

It’s been 2 months already and Oga agent claims there is no number plate in the whole of Lagos. Abeg can anyone advice way forward from here please.

Please I need matured advice

I married a struggling man,I was conscious of the fact that he wasn't rich, I wanted someone I would build with.

During the wedding preparations. I told him that we must not borrow money for it, we should work with whatever we have cause I did not want us to start our life with debts...he accepted and assured me we wouldn't borrow....it was after the whole ceremony I found out that we were more than half a million in debt.
I was hurt because I went as far as sewing my wedding dress and my bridal train dresses myself just to cut cost, but my hubby wore an Italian suit and Italian shoes.

When he met me, I just finished nysc and was learning fashion design, we did not really date, he plainly said he wants to marry me which I accepted cause he ticked most of my checklists in a future spouse.

Now to the main issue...
We had plans that after the wedding, we would start saving to furnish our apartment, after that, we start saving for a car, then also save to start a family business... That was the plan.

It took a while to furnish our apartment because of the debt incurred during the wedding but then, we later did and we started saving for the car.

Note: I don't really put anything into the savings, but I really have to manage resources around the house he gives me 5,000 per week for house upkeep/feeding but i always end up adding my money to make it up... And I rarely ask for money for stuffs for myself, I just manage what I can afford.

Back to my story...
We've now gotten something substantial to get us a family car (I'm heavily pregnant) and he now knows he wants to run a masters program.

I'm actually not against him doing his masters but I feel the timing is wrong...what he does for a living does not require certification (if not I would have said he would get a raise after the program) he just wants to have a masters degree because all his mates have a masters and "something may come up in the future" but I feel we need a family car and a family business more right now.

I'm so pained cause I thought we were a team, I thought my feelings matter, I thought I was important but now its obvious what they say...that a man is only loyal when he is broke.

I have been saving really hard and was able to get and industrial sewing machine(without his input) recently, and I hope to start a "ready to wear" line once I put to bed.
He is 37 am 28.
I no longer manage resources, I collect every dime I need around the house and increased house allowances... Please I'm I over reacting?

The car in question is not a luxury but a necessity....

I remember when my wife was pretty heavy early this year, the issue of car came up too. And considering the stress of being heavily pregnant and its associated pains, getting a car is in order if u ask me.

Going back to school isn't the issue here but the timing .... why didn't he discuss that since inception and possibly work towards both the car/get-back-to-school goal?

And to those shouting: "its his money", when u get married, you abandon the I, Me, etc for Us, we. There's nothing like your money or my money; both parties should work together for the progress of the family and individuals involved in the relationship.

Meanwhile, the bulk of the responsibilities lies with the man oooo cos na jeje the woman siddon wey he go carry am ... now that a baby is on the way, its a whole new game now .... diapers, baby food, drugs for mother and child ... and God help him if the baby refuse to come naturally and a CS is the way to go, he go smell pepper ... will he be able to make ends meet while running school?

When we were preparing for my wife's delivery around march, we had some bulk money saved up and I personally needed things but i pended those things. And thank God i did cos my wife didn't deliver naturally as planned, we did CS and if i had spend the money saved up, i would have been in serious trouble.

The school thing is coming at a wrong time. However, you know your husband, try to have a heart to heart talk and let him see reasons why u need the car and some other things. Meanwhile, keep like 250-350k in one account that you dare not touch till after u have given birth safely and discharged or else.... dem go tie una leg for bed frame for hospital till una pay up and that would be embarrassing.

If it stops again, repeat the process. To ease things for u, get a 4G mifi so u only swap sim on your mifi and not your phone

Now I wonder why some HMOs ask a user to travel to Diagnostics Center A for over one hour by car at over ₦3000 to get a diagnostic service that can be rendered at Diagnostics Center B at ₦3000 which is 5 minutes walk from the hospital.

I am just very annoyed. My wife in her third trimester is being asked to visit a diagnostic center very far away when she could just do it at a nearby diagnostics center without stress.

They are not living up to their expectations jare and its all of them! They seem to be more interested in collecting money and not rendering services.

Since when? I've been using it since mid 2018 when i got it unlocked and it has never disappointed.

Once any of the networks mess peren, i insert another sim from another network, with data, and just continue as if nothing had happened.

I got a Redmi Note 7 but it doesn't support Glo 4G. Now thinking of buying a Glo 4g Mifi to augment the deficiency. I am a glo subcriber and the 3G network is bad both at home and office.

Be mindful of the bands supported by the mifi.

Now, there different between 4G and 4G LTE, so buy mifi that supports 4G LTE.

And also, i'll advise u go for airtel mifi (alcatel mw40) which supports almost every band in Nigeria and outside.

I use it personally and it works with mtn, airtel, ntel, etc and its super fast! Just google the name.

Try get the used one for cheap and find a way to unlock it (which is what i did)

I went to YouTube to hear from people who are already using it and what they are saying is,

if you want to download e.g 1GB movie from the Internet on 4G it will take 30-40 minutes but on 5G it will take 5 seconds.

Now the difference here is the timing of the download. On 4G 1gb will be deducted from your plan while on 5G 1GB will be deducted from your plan also.

It's like downloading with 3G and 4G LTE. Same 1GB will be deducted for downloading same file but the difference is the timing. 3G might take 1r 20min to complete while a proper 4G LTE will take 30-40 minutes to complete. But 5G will take 5 seconds.

Yeah except 4G LTE won't use 30-40mins to download 1gb bro! Its usually 5-12mins!

I use a 4G LTE mifi (alcatel mw40) and used it with both airtel 4G and mtn 4G, is super fast!

Thanks for the input bro, the processor speed on the spec of the system was written 1.8GHz to 4GHz so its getting me confused, cos i don't know why the processor speed has to be written in range.

I don't know what you mean by "skin down your windows"

Yeah. The lower no means when the computer processor is idle and there is no demand for power, it stays at 1.8ghz and of course, use less energy which in turn means, longer lasting battery.

And in reverse if for instance u open after effects or some high demanding software to get some stuffs done, the processor senses the need for more power and might run as high as 4ghz (provided your cooling system/environment can allow that without over heating).

They call it turbo-boost or something.

Anyway, skinning down means, removing stuffs u don't need that comes pre-installed with windows. Bloatware or whatever they call it.

I use tuneup 2014 to get all that done and it does it effectively so u have a windows that run only what u want it to run.

One more tip: pls stay away from mcafee antivirus or its other cousins: they hog your processor.

Why not. As long as your windows 10 runs fine and it should.

Just ensure when u are editing, always put your system on high performance mode (battery setting) cos your processor is built to conserve battery (that's why u have the U at the end of your processor specs).

Ram is fine and you have a very good gpu as well!
