He would have killed himself and why did the police abandon him? |
SpencerLewis:Nah - they are part of the pastor's workers. They earn their salaries from the church. Are you not aware that young beautiful ladies are recruited to church to lure men. Some go as far as seducing male members and eventually sleeping with them. I am not concerned about anybody's sex escapades, but what bothers me is when a pastor decides to build a 20 storey building with shopping mall, a cinema and swimming pool on the top of the building and that same building has a church auditorium. In fact, one can easily conclude that the pastor is building a hotel when members can have sex flings after church activities. The extent at which these god of men go |
vorigan:I like this bible quote ascribe to Jesus, because it is purely the truth. |
jabolo:The question you should be asking yourself in the first place is if that God asked you to even pay tithe and offering in church? |
I don't know why Nigerians are complaining about these pastors. Churches in Nigeria are social clubs. Even as I write this, many will come highly to defend their own church. However, these are organizations designed to benefit only the board of trustees and sometimes the board of trustee is just the pastor himself. Members get little or no benefit belonging to such social clubs. If a rational thinking person do a mere calculation of the amount donated in church and still feels comfortable, then such person should not complain when the same pastor is screwing members in a 5* hotel in London or having a beach party wearing Versace. You can serve God in your home. Stop giving these men your hard earned money for them to live the good life whilst you keep on dreaming. Please you are not giving God your money, it is the pastor that rakes in the profits. If you think tithe and offerings make one rich, then Dangote, Bill Gate, Mark Zukerberg will never be rich men. Trust me, they are not Christians. Your pastor is deceiving you! |
So the senate president wife listens to gangsta music.. Hmmm interesting times indeed |
IzonOwei:How many Nigerians have requested for his sack and if they do, are those Nigerians the ones to actually sack him? It is only the NFF that can hire or sack a coach. His employers are not complaining yet, maybe they will after watching these explosive statements. |
This is very childish and immature of Sunday Oliseh. Critics will talk, in fact some are even paid to be on the opposing side of things. His job is to prove them wrong. Sunday Oliseh has only open up fresh wounds which would be used against him. Certainly, he has given his critics more cud to chew on and consequently, increased the pressure on him. Unfortunately, he refused to learn from his predecessors, because he, himself, was a critic. I remember his statements during the World Cup on Super Sport against the super eagles and Kechi, his predecessor. Oliseh, the best answer to critics is silence. Silence is golden. I understand he has apologize, however, the damage has been done. |
AreaFada2:Exactly. The UK was embarrassed by that act and decided to severe diplomatic ties with Nigeria. |
The president never lied. We have an image problem abroad. Up till 1984, Nigerians could travel to the UK without a visa, that change though after diplomatic ties were severed and Nigeria involvement in crime. Because we have poor regulatory and structural framework, we exploit systems to our benefits regardless of the ethical consequences. We should not denied these facts |
This is rubbish. Who would leak this kind of information to the press. How come the names of the witnesses are out in the open, putting their lives and that of their families at risk. This is a matter that is in court and should not be reported by media except court proceedings. |
Gross irresponsibility. The school authorities should fish out the masterminds and take them to the police. The entire students should be made to pay for the destruction. Students should understand that they cannot fight authorities. |
This man must be in the good books of the President. Though he is a fine policeman and apolitical |
uwantsome:It is good we wipe out stubborn elementals so that peace can reign in the country. We will not tolerate blackmail and criminality in this country. |
coolitempa:He sure needs some jail time to get back some senses. A man who his interest above national interest. Squandered our resources just to remain in power. Sir, have you forgotten the show Orubebe put up in INEC collation office, where he requested the Jega goes to his office. Purposely with the view of either influencing the election result or making the election inconclusive. Sir, have you forgotten that you pushed the election an extra 6 weeks, when indication showed that you may lose the election, with the deliberate intention to buy electorate. Sir, you lost the election and it's not a big deal to leave office and I am not impressed |
We need to appreciate God for the way we actually reason because the level of ignorance in this country in really high. I have met with militants or EX-militants, or whatever name they go by these days. Those guys don't reason normally. Their thinking ability is very impaired. Hence, that is why they behave the way they do |
CACAWA:Abi oh |
This should be the second time. I think she is a drama queen, looking for attention. |
Am I the only one that didn't find the joke funny at all? Please have an open mind. If you do, you would see the funny side |
Mrfahaz:Compare to the actual sum allocated for arms right? |
Nothing good happens in Nigeria except there is a selfish personal gain to be made. Leaders do not want to be remembered for their good deeds, but for how much money and properties they have acquired. |
CharlyG1:Bleep off this dumb story |
Aluko should be arrested first. However, he should be given a lesser charge because he is a primary prosecution witness. Obanikoro can no longer deny his involvement an alleged distribution of national funds for Ekiti election. He should be crated back from the United State to come answer vital questions. |
I am totally disappointed in Jonathan. Here is a man saddled with the responsibility of protecting national interest. However, his objective were simply from a selfish point of view. Huge amount of national resources were wasted to ensure that he wins the 2015 election. Resources that if deployed would have won the heart of Nigerians to return him back to Aso Rock. Nigerians should clearly identify the actors who masquerade themselves as saviours of democracy, whilst the primary aim is to loot funds. We must never support such wicked people again. |
I agree with Leke. You do not lie under oath. |
nnamdiosu:I have read it thoroughly and I'm more saner than you. |
If Amaechi has a case to answer, he needs to do so quickly. We must eradicate corruption and resource wastage from our country for good. |
Peterside, there is nothing you can do. The Supreme Court ruling is final. |
tuale4u:He is not a President of the North. I sincerely like and admire him. He has guts and that is what we need in this country. A President with balls and guts. I have continued to rant that the CBN do not need to devalue our naira. It will cause unnecessary hardship. Foreign countries and currency speculators have been mounting pressure on devaluation because they will benefit from it. We are an import-dependent country and cannot afford to devalue the naira. |
What I have come to understand in Nigeria is that when abnormality lingers on for a long time, it is presumed to be the norm. Addressing this abnormality usually necessitate the outpour of sympathy. In the first place, an abnormality is an abnormality. |
President Muhammadu Buhari says there is no chance the naira will be devalued and that devaluation proponents will have to work hard to convince him otherwise. Falling crude oil prices have strained the country’s foreign reserves, leading to the exclusion of 41 imports from accessing forex from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Many have argued that the naira needs to be allowed to depreciate to reflect the market value, given that while it official sells for N197, the parallel market rate is around N300. But Buhari has likened devaluation to “killing the naira”, his spokesman, Garba Shehu, said in a press statement released on Thursday. According to Garba, Buhari said in Nairobi, Kenya, late Wednesday that he was yet to be convinced that Nigeria and its people would derive any tangible benefit from an official devaluation of the Naira. He was speaking at an interactive meeting with Nigerians living in Kenya. Buhari said while export-driven economies could benefit from devaluation of their currencies, “devaluation will only result in further inflation and hardship for the poor and middle classes in Nigeria’s import-dependent economy”, adding that he had no intention of bringing further hardship on the country’s poor who “have suffered enough already”. Likening devaluing the Naira to having it “killed”, Buhari said that proponents of devaluation will have to work much harder to convince him that ordinary Nigerians will gain anything from it. He rejected suggestions that the CBN should resume the sale of foreign exchange to bureaux de change (BDCs), saying that the the business had become a scam and a drain on the economy. “We had just 74 of the bureaux in 2005, now they have grown to about 2,800,” Buhari said. He alleged that some bank and government officials used surrogates to run the BDCs and prosper at public expense by obtaining foreign exchange from government at official rates and selling it at much higher rates. “We will use our foreign exchange for industry, spare parts and the development of needed infrastructure,” he said. “We don’t have the dollars to give to the BDCs. Let them go and get it from wherever they can, other than the central bank.” He maintained that about a third of petroleum subsidy payments under the previous administration was bogus. “They just stamped papers and collected our foreign exchange,” he said. https://www.thecable.ng/just-in-buhari-rejects-devaluation |
Mr Jonathan, FYI, Nigeria has collapsed. The economy is in bad shape. You probably do not understand what went on in your administration. |
