I believe a lot of Nigerians who have for years hated and abused the APC have now come to realize that indeed Buhari was a bad market but antecedents and records in office shows Tinubu is a better candidate in this election. I have tried my best to hate on Bola Tinubu but his records and events of the last one month has shown that he's the only realistic fellow contesting and even though he may be a victim of advanced age. His intellectual capacity is not in doubt. I will be voting Tinubu come Saturday by God's grace. No other candidate has policies they initiated while in government become more sustainable than Tinubu which to me shows that he must have been a listener in his crew. Atiku would have made my cut but that SPV audio and his response put me off. |
Hendrixky:How about you campaign for your candidate based on policies he initiated in government that has been sustainable by successive governments after his and stop this propaganda and emotional blackmail. It's a democracy remember and everyone has a right to choose whom they want. As for me I am with Bola Tinubu because having analyzed all candidates he has the best track records of sustainable path to prosperity for the citizenry. Thank you. |
jude79:Jokes on you. I gave you a point and you couldn't find a way to defend it. Continue with your stupid Bangladesh economic figures and rhetorics. Mind you morally upright persons like Obi and Buhari never make good leaders. We need realist and innovative people who empower and work for the future. Name just one single policy of Peter Obi as governor that has been sustained since he left office and I can tell you 10 of Tinubu's policies that still works in Lagos till today. You can vote whomever you want no problem but don't ever insult me for making my own choices. |
Suspect33:Even NC? That sounds like an illusion at best |
jude79:How you think your choice of Obi is the best thing after jollof rice still worries me. Do you know both Obi and Dangote used to be NIgeria's largest importers? Now Dangote produces everything he imports locally...but Obi never even produced toothpick locally and is suddenly preaching manufacturing? Someone who doesn't have an idea cannot deliver on that. I want a realist and not and opportunist. |
Drsnives:Actually for me as a Christian I love that Muslim/Muslim idea. Because one day jungle must mature. The table will turn and there won't be any excuses. If not for those shouting victory for religion and all, I do not believe any Yoruba man would be religious bigot. However, you see the reality now in the North also is that average Hausa and Fulani are having issues which has led to banditry. Hence we may just have power shift from Fulani to Hausa. Unfortunately, the Fulani governors are still the major backers of BAT. There's no doubt the Baba no well. I can accept that as it's obvious. |
Drsnives:Actually the same thing our brothers in the West are doing is what our brothers in the East are doing. Sincerely, the job of a President is not to run 100m race. Now looking by antecedents and manifesto for me BAT is more of a realist than either of Obi or Atiku. Although my candidate still remains Kola Abiola and I would be glad to waste my vote on him but should I have to change my mind it would be Bola Tinubu and it has absolutely nothing to do with tribe. For me, he has the best track records of any governor in office since 1999. I grew up in Lagos and I know what Lagos was before then and after he left. I believe he understands more about bringing prosperity to the people than others. And I have countless reasons. However, Kola Abiola seems to have better understanding of the basics of our problems as a nation. I'm not one who gets deceived by empty promises. Nigeria needs a realist! Morally upright persons like Osinbajo and Buhari ended buying votes in 2019 with TraderMoni, na God save Osinbajo then when his chopper crashed. Morally upright people should be leading churches and mosques. We need practical realists in power! |
Bitchiamjay:You know too well that if the court lacks jurisdiction the court will rule to that effect right?. Now we have two major issues you're been sentimental about here... 1. The CBN act as amended clearly states that you can deposit your old notes at any time. Not within 20 days or 20 years. 2. The court hasn't given a judgement but rather a ruling that the status quo be maintained so all parties that want to join can present their arguments. There's a reason the construction says only all orders of the Supreme court must be obeyed by all authorities and it never gave the President such powers. At least the foolish HellRufai did the best thing by approaching the court. Try that nonsense Buhari did in America and see if you won't be served notice of impeachment already by now. |
Truthdeypain:Isn't it funny that you all think that any President alone can be successful?. What made OBJ a successful President if not for the technocrats in his government. The same strategy as kept Lagos ahead. That's why you'll never see Tinubu bring in a full time politician as governor. Till date we don't know of any of Obi's cabinet members as governors. They can't even campaign for him openly. The problem of Nigeria is beyond rhethorics and tribalism. Awolowo became a success as a result of his cabinet not just his own capacity alone. Mind you Buhari is not corrupt but lacks common sense hence he appointed people who under him became overlords. Right from DSS Daura and all. Can anyone try that under OBJ?. That's why you need a cabinet that is efficient. The President basically issues orders from his fortress called Aso Rock. Your cabinet gets the job done the right way. Imagine Datti telling us that El Rufai should be arrested. It clearly shows your candidates are not ready for governance. The constitution told us clearly that all orders of the Supreme court must be obeyed by all authorities. The constitution never gave the President such powers but the Supreme court. If for example the government believes the court lacks jurisdiction they should argue that in court and the court will agree with them. Mind you Supreme court is different from hight court and appeal court. |
Silvoclairea:First, do you agree with me that amongst all candidates BAT is the most realistic? He's a realist? Atiku has been lying that he will invest $10b on youths within 6 months by selling all refineries. How will he conclude the sales in 6 months? Just how is that possible? Obi has been saying he will fight corruption and all of that because he saved money as governor. Mind you his economic adviser Pat Utomi was one of those who branded Buhari until he couldn't secure an appointment and left..so if we blame BAT for Buhari we must also blame Pat Utomi. Kenneth Okonkwo only left APC when he couldn't get ticket. He was Buhari's topmost supporter in the SE for years after Arthur Eze. Meanwhile, BAT knows that we are all one way of the other parts of the corruption of the country. Only 10% of Nigerians pay taxes, others even hide their money in tax havens in Panama and all. Meanwhile, BAT also brought Fashola for Lagos and he did reasonably well then. For the first four years of Buhari, Tinubu was sidelined . It was when they needed the foolish man for second term they brought him close. Buhari never gave the man an opportunity to make and input in his government hence I'm sure he wouldn't have failed. What we need is a leader who understands that he can't solve our problems overnight, he's the only one talking about reorientation and credit system. Others are just shouting corruption and poverty. We need a realist and forget social media propaganda. |
Bitchiamjay:You're either a charge and bail lawyer or a quack. If indeed you're a lawyer as you claimed, you ought to know that the court would eventually decide if it does or doesn't have jurisdiction. But for now the ruling simply says let status quo remain. CVG It is stupid to claim to know all when you know absolutely nothing. The lawyers need to argue their cases and the court will decide. Democracy works based on separation of powers! P.S. I am a lawyer too and I handle election petition. |
Buhari fulfilled his dream and took us back to stone age. Buhari and Jonathan are the worst categories of failure after them na death. Unfortunately, I still believe BAT is the best man for the job looking at their pasts. He's the move realistic, most visionary and most innovative of the top candidates. May the best candidate win! |
Hendrixky:You advocated to looking beyond petty sentiments and still went back to it. Are we looking for a gymnast or a leader with intellectual capacity? Was it age that made Buhari fail or he was just bound to fail Everytime? What we need is a leader who is a realist, a leader who is innovative and bold. Someone who can identify the best materials and appoint them to help move the nation forward. To be Tinubu tops in that category and it's unfortunate because since 1999 we haven't produced a better governor. I feel ashamed to say that but it's the truth. Saving money or been morally upright doesn't make a good leader as shown in Buhari. Although, I know we can't have a worse leader than the current one for sure. Buhari and Jonathan are the worst of cases. Anything worse than them is death. |
Iamzik:All these are still not enough for us not to face the facts of law. Personally, if I see any APC leader I can beat them to stupor but we are in a democracy and the law and constitution are clear. |
With all due respect to the writer, you are not only beinh sentimental but also emotional. You have raised points but your responses to those points are scandalous. El Rufai may go to hell for all I care but these are facts that must not be disputed for any reasons at all; 1. The court gave a ruling and even if the court doesn't have jurisdiction over the matter, it is up to the court to decide not you or the executive. 2. The Nigerian constitution which many of you have refused to study which is why you all keep getting disappointed when the Senate President and Akpabio won in court is more supreme than the electoral act. Mind you the constitution saved Peter Obi when some people charged him to court that he wasn't a member of labour party by the time the party submitted it's list of candidates. Now the constitution clearly made it clear that all authorities in Nigeria must obey the decisions of the Supreme court. There's never a smoke without fire. The President is not an Alpha and Omega and democracy was designed in a way that no man will be solely deciding the fate of the nation. Hence separation of powers. 3. The CBN act as amended in 2017 clearly said that you can take your old notes to the bank anytime, anytime here can be 500 years. 4. You claimed El Rufai doesn't obey court orders, we all have rights to challenge lower court orders but no one can challenge the decisions of the Supreme court. It is that simple. The law doesn't deal on emotions and mind you the fact that we have a seemingly rubber stamp legislator doesn't mean they no longer have powers to impeach a President. But there are guidelines. If Joe Biden tries what Buhari did, by now he would be served impeachment notice. Let us stop been emotional and argue based on the law. If this matter isn't within the jurisdiction of the court, the court would say so. Why the rush to undermine a matter that is still in court? If Buhari doesn't have an agenda, why not allow the court to give a judgement? Are you telling me the President is now more powerful than the Supreme court? |
Bitchiamjay:What is right is to first obey the order of the court. I have never heard that El Rufai refused a Supreme court judgment. Stop spreading lies abeg. The constitution is very clear enough...all orders of the Supreme court must be obeyed by all authorities. The fact that they have allowed Buhari have his way in 7 1/2 years all in the name of party nonsense doesn't mean they also cannot exercise their rights. Even AG hasn't said anything but you who knows nothing about the law are here ranting. This is why knowledge is power! |
AntiTerrorist:Mind you everyone knows MURIC are a scam and no one I repeat no sane Yoruba ever takes that idiot serious. If not for cheap journalist giving the idiot audiences. We Yorubas don't do politics of tribe or religion. Stop living in a fools land. Tinubu may get more Yoruba christian votes than any other candidates. Even so called Pastors using their pulpit to canvass against APC will fail because when it mattered most they kept shut. When Jonathan was doing father Christmas for all of them they didn't remember the Christians but when their major lines of access to government money is threatened they want to start preaching. How many of them spoke up when Christians were killed and how many of them supported those minority christians with money or weapons to defend themselves?? |
MadeInTokyo:The Joke's on you. El Rufai is the only governor the CPC faction produced. All other APC governors were formerly PDP. Even. El Rufai himself was PDP. |
Bitchiamjay:You probably forgotten that we are operating a constitutional democracy. The Supreme court rulings must be obeyed even by the President. The same stupid Emefiele ran to Supreme court to secure an order against his arrest. He might be truly financing terrorism as alleged with his behaviors lately. |
mistilink1:The same Ambode who ejected a Pastor and threw his family out because the Pastor refused to give his wife preference in church during communion service? Actually God left Ambode. On this issue, election has made all of you selfish and too emotional. So the world bank and IMF that said the policies were not good are also collecting money from Tinubu abi? Well, the governor will destroy those banks. You all are refusing to see Buhari's game plan. Buhari doesn't want an election, he wants anarchy in the land so he can suspend the constitution and continue to stay in power. We need those governors to save the nation and democracy. Until you present proof of those imaginery billions the governors are hiding, you should be ashamed for believing hearsay. |
ogwumgbe:And you honestly believe the past 2 months wouldn't have been enough for them to exchange it? Even bankers are loading ATM and still using multiple cards to withdraw all the money themselves. Personally, I am of the conviction that this situation is designed to make the ruling party look bad so voters can turn against it. Buhari who was doing TraderMoni 4 years ago days to elections now suddenly wants to preach against vote buying? The fact is the situation will shut the country down and the President will suspend the constitution and rule alone... tactically he will stay in office and keep causing troubles every 6 months. They all never want to leave power but God has a way of always humbling them |
How some persons think the President can disobey the Supreme court still baffles me. Many allege the court of selling judgement but would never ask what lawyers argue in court or what the judgment was premised upon. I blame lazy foolish lawyers who after bungling a clients case would rather promote the narrative that judges have been bribed instead of admitting that they were defeated by a more brilliant lawyer. One thing I know is that the Supreme court would have the last laugh and for anyone to think the President's powers are absolute, they must be lacking in knowledge. |
bonnyhope:But the same Buhari used TraderMoni to buy votes in 2019 didn't remember money politics then? Man is just as dull as we've always known. |
femisplash:God bless you for not forgetting so soon. Even international bodies then raised alarm that TraderMoni was vote buying. Anyways, the statement is still useless since people can still redeem old notes. Basically if it is true that politicians already have old notes at home as some fools are been made to believe those notes will still be spent for elections and would be redeemable in banks. There's still something they are not telling us. |
franchasng:Sincerely I am getting disappointed at your civility and intellectual capacity. I mean you can handle issues well and elaborate but rather you'll chose to go on the attack mode whenever Peter mention PO. Kudos to you! Meanwhile, my own person issues with Peter Obi has never been about his personality and yes $2m then and even till date is a big money.. Although I have reasons to believe he didn't steal the money but his explanations are not convincing enough for me. There are certain times one can get misinterpreted. There's no justifiable reasons for paying a contractor in cash. But let's agree no one is perfect. My only grouse and measure of a leader for me is wealth creation. Personally, I don't rate importers who just are all about importation and wouldn't also aspire to get into manufacturing. The major issue I have is why Obi never went into manufacturing locally looking at all the brands he imports. That for me wasn't good enough and it makes me scared that he can deliver on the promise of changing us from consumption to production which he never did himself. I'm so happy to hear about his siblings. That's very impressive. |
nameo:You didn't read the stories well. Even if the governors have the old notes. This article states that the old higher denomination in circulation would still be accepted. Which means they can still use their old notes. Meanwhile, all our top Presidential candidates are majority shareholders in many banks. We would be deceiving ourselves thinking they can't get these new notes easily. |
emmyclassic:Continue speaking for the South West... Mr Sodiq. Mind you the issue of religion is never and will never be an issue to us in the SW. That's why till date we remain the best of all tribes. We are the most accommodating and most resourceful. For us, humanity comes first! |
potent5:I speak on facts and it's why I stand out from the mob. The mob will always have it's say buy realists will always their way. |
Eriokanmi:So you acknowledge you're suffering the effects but still support it because it affected your imaginary enemy which is TInubu. Afterall, once we kill Tinubu Nigeria will become an eldorado abi? Dey play! Let me tell you, it's easier to destroy things than building. Businesses that would be affected or destroyed by the policy would not be easy to rebuild. Emefiele that is simply bitter because he lost APC presidential ticket is not your concerns but Tinubu. In the first 4 years we all saw how Tinubu was sidelined by Buhari and Abba Kyari and how well they ran the nation into debts. Tinubu supported Buhari same way he supported Fashola and Sanwo Olu to be governors. That Buhari ended up been a failure was never Tinubu's fault. That was on Buhari. Tinubu will win and you will wail for atleast 4 years. And I'm sure El Rufai took you to his house where he was hiding the 22b also right?. This is why Aisha Buhari had to get someone like you arrested and beaten up weeks ago. |
franchasng:Very good. This is a reasonable response and intellectual explanation that I expect..not just jumping straight into attack mood. I am reasonably pleased and satisfied with your response. Even though I can't confirm this is true but it surely makes good sense. Thank you for that. However, can we also have an explanation on the 250m (over $2m) then cash caught with his aides in Lagos?. His claim was that the money is meant for a contractor. I would love to have an answer to that and if convinced you may just win a voter for Obi. |
The electioneering moods and campaign season has shown truly that the problem of Nigeria isn't the leaders but the Nigerian youths who have always based their decisions on emotions and not facts. As a lawyer who has handled a few cases especially election petition, it is important to let people understand that emotions are nothing but facts are everything. Even common sense comes far behind facts! How convenient that we see some politicians as fairly good and some as really bad when infact all our major candidates shouldn't be seeking office but probably be on their ways to jail for gross abuse of office. Even facts and revelations doesn't seem to matter but hearsay, lies and deceit are the other of the day. Many young Nigerians ran away to the UK for greener pastures only to see that besides good roads and fancy environment, there is absolutely nothing abroad worth dying for if only we all work together to make this nation great. The narrative we have sold ourselves that this country is lost makes it impossible for young minds to even think about making it here at all. Our youths have forgotten that the real secret to wealth is finding a problem and creating a solution. Nigeria has many problems and fixing them is important. Dangote's style of business might not be pleasing to some but there's no denying that everything he used to import 20 years ago, he now produces locally. This is the real secret of how Dangote became Africa's richest. Those whose stock in trades are just to import cheap goods abroad come here to brag about how they are successful businessmen will never understand. For years Nigeria Import tiles until the Chinese saw the potential locally and started producing tiles here. No Nigerian till date is known for producing tiles locally. Same with many other products likewise. We have seen candidates who invested public money in family businesses or businesses family has interests, to candidates whose childhood till date cannot be explained to candidate caught on tape teaching his boss how to loot public funds. All these are greenlight but trust my people emotions will still rule their brains. For some of us who only deal on available facts, we never get surprised when candidates who never manufactured toothpick locally in over 40 years of importation experience in business suddenly start to shout from consumption to production. Even though this candidate imports almost 300 brands of FMCG. Someone whose aides were caught with 250m ($2m) cash and reportedly claimed it was to pay a contractor. Yet he's claiming to be the most accountable. Who pays cash to a contractor? Yet this was never made public until they were caught with cash. Even though the state assembly eventually claimed it conducted an investigation and saw nothing wrong. We all know behind the scenes dealings would have taken place. Another candidate claims to have built men and possibly even as opposition never for once got charged to court for corruption. Even though his tax consulting firm has proven to be one of the best in the nation. Although allegedly a drug Lord which the Americans have denied anyways. This same candidate cannot explain beyond reasonable doubts his links to the tax consulting firm, his roles in the shooting of peaceful protesting youths or why and how his wife and kids dominate the most vibrant sectors of his home state. Another strong candidate who used to be a civil servant, suddenly became a multi billionaire even against the rules of the civil service but his only campaign is asking his tribesmen to vote him and also insisting his region has never been President. All candidates running away from debates, none of these candidates has been able to discuss fundamental truths or strategy. But they have all perfected the arts of lies and deceits and the people foolishly buying into it. There's no reason wishing Nigerians luck. I simply wish them what they wish themselves but as for me, just like 8 years ago when I didn't vote the ruling party or opposition, I haven't been disappointed as the facts then have proven to be sufficient enough now. The propaganda against candidates and party or structures are very nonsensical. I expect candidates to be discussing fundamental issues of how to ensure police reforms, how to ensure technical trainings and how to ensure religious reforms. But they have suddenly because of elections become very religious and humble. We've been through this road before and we are heading into it again... Remember, let facts guide you and not your emotions. As for me, I have decided to endorse Kola Abiola of the PRP as he's seem to be the only candidate who has even tried to discuss fundamental issues and not profit on the emotions of people... |
searchlight:Fair enough. Mind you NIgeria has had many cabals and they all eventually lost out. There was once a cabal in the Yaradua government that kept denying the health of the President, they lost out. Under GEJ there was also a cabal that did everything against Buhari. Under Buhari it's no difference. If Tinubu wins fair and square he will be declared. Remember, he has almost all Fulani governors with him too. Even those you call cabals know they don't have monopoly in this country. OBJ did everything to get a third term but was shown the way out. MKO Abiola's case is totally different from today's reality. |
